From YouTube: How to Create a What's New entry
Description
Mike walks through the process for creating a What's New entry.
A
A
Okay,
so
I'm
going
to
use
the
directions
that
are
currently
in
a
draft,
mr,
but
this
is
the
view
out
for
that,
mr
for
what
will
be
in
the
handbook
for
people
to
follow
during
this
process
for
subsequent
releases.
So
I
have
the
list
of
the
three
to
seven
items
from
a
new
there's.
Actually
ten-
and
I
have
them
here
just
in
a
a
a
scrap
file
and
I
knew
provided
these
through
slack
earlier
in
the
day.
So
we
have
that
step.
A
A
So
you
can
come
and
open
this
up
and
you
can
copy
this
and
then
we'll
go
back
to
this
area
and
add
a
new
file
so
paste
the
template
in
and
then
let's
follow
the
naming
conventions
that
we
have
here.
So
I'm
going
to
just
copy
this,
which
is
from
13
4
paste
it
here
and
then
update
the
date
to
be
today.
A
A
All
right,
so
we've
got
our
starting
point
here
and
what
I'll
do
is
I'll
walk
through
the
process
for
creating
the
first
entry
and
then
from
there
on
it's
the
same
for
the
rest,
so
they
just
keep
adding
to
the
yaml
file.
But
if
I
did
all
the
entries,
then
it
might
be
a
a
long
video.
So
we'll
just
do
one,
and
then
you
can
just
follow
that
process.
A
A
Ci
paint
job
with
references,
so
this
is
where
it
can
get
a
little
tricky
to
find
the
right
one,
but
I
think
we
will
be
able
to
do
it.
A
Here
we
go
found
it
that
took
longer
than
it
should
have
all
right,
so
we
now
have
the
content,
essentially
that
we
need
for
this
entry.
And
so,
if
we
go
back
to
that
file,
you
just
start
toggling
between
the
two.
So
the
title
is
going
to
match
the
release
post
entry
easy.
So
let's
go
ahead
and
just
get
that
title
select,
ci
cd
configuration
for
any
job,
then
reuse.
It.
A
A
A
13.9
and
that's
it,
so
I'm
actually
going
to
start
this,
mr
now,
so
we
can
go
through
that
then
I'll
come
back
and
add
the
remaining
entries,
so
not
a
huge
amount
of
time
that
this
will
take
probably
about
an
hour
for
each
entry
total
for
each
release
and
you
can
copy
and
paste
a
lot
of
that
content
over.
I
was
doing
one
at
a
time,
so
you
can
see
each
one.
A
We
could
talk
about
it,
but
once
you
get
the
hang
of
it,
you
can
kind
of
just
grab
the
entire
release
post,
bring
it
into
the
bottom
of
the
file,
pull
up
the
pieces.
You
need
and
then
delete
it
kind
of
rinse
and
repeat
that
makes
it
a
little
more
efficient,
not
having
to
switch
between
the
tabs
and
also,
if
you
have
more
than
one
monitor,
you
can
just
kind
of
have
it
up
on
both
one
both
monitors
and
switch
between.
A
A
A
A
This
is
because
trying
to
line
up
the
what's
new
entry
with
the
dotto
release
is
going
to
be
really
really
challenging,
given
when
the
kind
of
release
is
cut
versus
when
everything
is
finalized,
and
we
know
what
the
ultimate
list
is
that
we
wanted
to
promote
with
the
release,
and
so
what
we
decided
to
do
was
just
not
try
to
get
it
into
the
self-managed
release
initially,
but
get
it
into
the
first
security
or
patch
release,
and
we
think
that's
okay,
because
most
people
don't
actually
upgrade
to
that
dot
or
release
right
away
and
when
they
do
upgrade,
they
want
to
get
to
the
most
recent,
which
is
generally
that
pass
release.
A
I'm
gonna
mark
this,
as
a
draft
for
now
milestone
would
be
13.
Nine.
A
And
I'm
gonna
go
ahead
and
submit,
and
there
it
is,
we
will
have
some
checks
that
will
run
some
linting
and
to
make
sure
that
the
yaml's
formatted
correctly,
and
I
won't
wait
for
that
all
to
run,
but
that
will
help
you
in
case.
You
missed
any
issues
there
or
have
any
problems
you
need
to
fix,
but
otherwise
it's
kind
of
just
that
process.
I
went
through
just,
however
many
times
for
the
number
of
entries
you
have.
