From YouTube: GitLab System Performance Research Proposal
Description
This research proposal is designed to understand the types of performance problems users encounter and the frequency in which users experience those problems in GitLab.
A
A
A
So
in
terms
of
those
research
goals?
It's
to
try
to
understand
users
prior
experiences
with
gitlab
that
resulted
in
poor
performance,
quantify
the
severity
and
frequency
of
those
issues
and
then
understand
whether
users
have
actually
changed
or
modified
anything
about
their
behavior.
As
a
result
of
seeing
those
performance
issues
for
the
proposed
timeline,
we're
looking
at
three
different
phases
for
this
work
phase,
one
would
be
where
we
would
conduct
interviews
with
individuals
from
those
surveys
that
I
spoke
to
earlier.
A
The
paid
net
promoter,
score
survey
and
the
system
usability
scale
survey
and
we
would
discuss
their
survey
feedback
about
negative
performance
issues
and
then
take
a
deep
dive
into
what
they've
actually
experienced
with
the
platform
phase
two.
This
is
where
we
would
survey
users
on
system
performance,
questions
to
understand
the
frequency
and
severity
of
those
problems
and
ask
if
users
have
taken
any
action
as
a
result
of
those
performance
problems
and
then
leading
into
phase
three.
A
This
is
where
we
would
conduct
follow-up
interviews
with
interviews
with
people
from
phase
2
and
again
discuss
their
survey
feedback
and
answer
any
lingering
questions
that
we
have.
That
may
have
not
been
answered
in
phase
1
or
phase
2.,
so
for
the
participants
we're
looking
at
in
phase
1,
recruiting
10
individuals
who
completed
either
the
system
usability
scale
survey
or
the
paid
net
promoter
score
survey
for
phase
2.
A
This
would
be
we're
targeting
80
to
100
current
sas
users
of
git
lab,
who
have
either
used
gitlab
for
just
a
little
bit
of
time,
less
than
180
days
or
more
than
180
days,
and
then
have
used
different
types
of
tiers,
whether
that
be
paid
or
free
tiers
and
then
for
phase
three.
