From YouTube: UX Showcase: Import Problem Validation Research
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Can
you
all
see
my
screen?
Okay,
yeah,
perfect,
all
right,
hi
everyone,
I'm
amanda
senior
product
designer
on
the
import
team
for
today's
ux
showcase,
I'd
like
to
talk
about
the
work
that
we
are
doing
to
learn
more
from
our
users
about
the
expectations
have
for
import,
but
first
a
little
bit
of
context.
So
users
can
import
projects
from
various
sources
and
they
can
import
groups,
but
only
from
gitlab.
A
We
do
know
that
our
top
three
sources
for
projects
are
get
lab,
export,
which
is
importing
a
project
from
one
gitlab
instance
to
another
and
then
github
and
bitbucket
are
our
top
sources
and
for
we
just
released
the
ui
for
the
group
import
experience
last
month.
So
previously
you
were
only
able
to
import
using
the
api.
A
A
We
wanted
to
understand
the
import
space
from
a
customer's
perspective,
so
we
were
interested
in
learning
what
their
processes
were,
what
their
pain
points
were
and
what
opportunities
for
improvement
there
are,
and
our
hypothesis
really
is.
The
current
state
creates
friction
for
customers
when
on-boarding
creating
a
negative
impression
of
gitlab.
A
We
recruited
participants
that
have
used
the
import
feature
within
the
past
six
months,
never
used
the
import
feature
existing
and
potential
customers
as
well
as
system
admins
and
dub
team
leads.
A
A
We
had
one
user
that
had
quite
a
lot
of
trouble
importing
using
the
api
to
migrate
their
data
because
we
didn't
offer
the
import
importer
source
that
they
needed
and
then
some
opportunities
that
came
out
of
this
research,
the
ability
to
directly
import
from
self-hosted
to
dot
com
without
having
to
export.
So
currently
the
process
is,
if
you're
on
self-hosted,
you
have
to
export
your
projects
and
then
re-import
them
into
your
dot
com
environment.
A
A
However,
in
order
to
get
to
the
import
feature,
some
of
the
participants
directed
me
to
click
on
the
project
drop
down
and
then,
when
they
noticed
that
it
wasn't
that
import
wasn't
there,
then
they
had
me
click
on
the
plus
icon,
which
is
in
fact
where,
where
import
is
located.
So
this
is
something
that
we
want
to
explore
and
test.
A
A
And
so
that's
all
I
have
for
this
ux
showcase.
Thank
you,
everyone
and
please
reach
out
to
me.
If
you
have
any
questions.
