From YouTube: Product Design Onboarding Process Reflection
Description
Gina Doyle (Product Designer, Verify: Runner and Testing) reviews and reflects on some of the onboarding processes and learnings in the UX Product Design position.
A
One
thing
is
that
there
is
a
lot
of
reading,
which
is
not
a
surprise,
but
the
good
thing
is
that
it
contains
a
lot
of
valuable
information
and
I'm
really
happy
that
I've
been
given
the
time
to
thoroughly
go
through
it.
In
general,
I
felt
no
pressure
during
onboarding
if
anything,
it's
just
coming
from
myself
and
overthinking.
A
The
amazing
thing
about
the
ux
scorecard
process
is
that
it
has
a
list
of
setup
instructions
that
are
really
clear
and
easy
to
follow,
and
then
there's
also
existing
templates
and
issues
that
can
be
examined.
I
appreciated
seeing
that
because
I
could
see
it
in
action
and
it
gave
me
a
better
understanding
of
how
the
whole
process
is
carried
out.
A
Another
highlight
of
my
onboarding
experience
was
the
web
ide.
I
used
to
use
git
all
the
time
and
was
very
prepared
to
use
that
here,
but
then
I
found
this
and
I
tried
it
out
and
it
was
so
easy
to
use.
I
really
love
that
it
defaults
to
creating
a
new
branch
for
you
and
it
gives
it
a
distinct
name,
and
it
was
a
huge
win
for
me
and
just
made
the
whole
merge
request
process
a
lot
less
scary.
A
Lastly,
I
wanted
to
say
that
the
pipeline
design
is
amazing
and
helped
me
navigate
through
my
failures.
I
was
getting
during
the
build
and
test
process.
I
did
run
into
an
error.
The
first
time
I
created
a
merge
request
when
I
was
updating
the
team
page,
but
I
got
to
the
root
of
it
in
around
five
seconds.
