A
Hi,
my
name
is
christy
lenoville
and
I'm
the
vice
president
of
user
experience
at
git
lab
at
gitlab.
Ux
includes
product
design,
ux
foundations,
user
research
and
technical
writing
and
I'll
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
what
each
of
those
means
to
us.
Our
product
designers
are
embedded
in
product
delivery
teams
with
product
managers
and
engineers.
A
Ux
foundations
guides
our
design
system
and
our
design
tooling,
which,
as
of
now
is
figma,
which
we
chose,
because
it's
a
great
collaboration
platform
and
we're
an
open
source
company.
So
that's
important
to
us.
A
Our
user
researchers
lead
generative
research
and
problem
validation
in
partnership
with
our
product
managers,
but
they
also
help
designers
conduct
their
own
solution,
validation
when
they
need
a
little
bit
of
help
and
our
technical
writers
maintain
our
documentation
and
our
doc's
site,
and
they
also
help
us
create
usable,
ui
text,
which
I
think
is
so
very
important.
So
I
was
really
excited
to
be
able
to
add
them
to
our
ux
team.
A
The
team
is
over
60
people,
which
has
grown
from
12
when
I
joined
in
february
of
2019,
so
incredible
growth.
We
really
hired
a
lot
of
folks
during
2019
and
I'll
be
honest
with
you.
That
was
a
little
scary.
When
you
hire
so
many
people,
you
gotta
make
sure
that
you
still
focus
on
hiring
the
best
of
the
best,
and
I
think
that
we've
done
a
really
good
job
of
that
I
may
be
biased,
but
I
think
the
ux
department
at
get
lab
is
truly
exceptional,
full
of
smart
and
motivated
people.
A
Everyone
is
highly
collaborative.
I
watch
them
share
ideas
with
each
other
support
each
other
and
really
important,
no
ego.
Everyone
is
humble
and
kind
and
I'll
say
that's
not
just
true
of
our
ux
department.
That's
honestly,
true
of
everyone.
I
work
with
at
get
lab
and
then,
lastly,
our
ux
practitioners
are
interested
in
the
technology
we
support
and
they
go
out
of
their
way
to
learn
new
things,
because
they
know
that's
how
they're
going
to
do
their
jobs
best.
So
if
this
sounds
interesting
to
you,
you
may
be
a
good
fit
for
our
team.
