Growth Marketing Weekly Recap 2020-09-03
A
Good
morning,
good
afternoon,
good
evening,
internet,
it's
thursday
september
3rd,
and
this
is
the
growth
marketing
team.
I
am
filling
in
for
shane
rice,
so,
unfortunately,
the
beginning
of
this
video
is
not
quite
as
exciting
as
usual,
but
I
highly
recommend.
I
think
this
is
what
youtubers
do
like
you
check
out
our
playlist
down
here
or
whatever,
like
the
last
four,
have
been
incredible,
so
he's
gonna
be
back
next
week.
We
all
miss
him
very
much,
so
I'm
gonna
jump
right
in
with
metrics.
So
let
me
share
my
screen.
A
All
right,
so
we
are
37
of
the
way
into
this
quarter
and
so
far
we
are
seeing
some
yellow
at-risk
flags
for
some
of
our
metrics
so
for
web
traffic.
We
are
on
track
for
users
and
slightly
below
our
goal
of
20
year-over-year
for
page
views.
We've
got
a
new
section
here
which
breaks
out
the
strategic
marketing
buckets,
so
one
of
our
goals
is
to
align
with
strategic
marketing
around
growing
impressions
around
these
key
areas
of
the
marketing
site.
A
So
I
won't
read
out
each
one
of
these,
but
you
can
see
there's
a
mix
of
up
and
down
here,
but
we're
working
on
having
these
all
be
up
at
least
20
year-over-year,
and
we
know
we
have
some
work
to
do
on
the
product
page
and
then
overall
web
traffic
has
been
trending
down
the
last
couple
months.
I
think
if
you
talk
to
todd
or
some
of
the
other
folks
in
marketing
they'll
probably
say
this
is
probably
kovid
related.
It
also
could
be
a
lot
more
people
on
vacation
in
august
than
usual.
A
So
I
don't
really
know
exactly
what's
going
on
there
yet
we'll
see
what
happens
in
september
for
inbound
mqls,
we
are
at
risk
in
all
three
buckets,
so
you
can
see
where
we're
at
in
terms
of
attainment,
so
the
easiest
way
to
figure
out
are
we
at
risk
is
we're
at
23
attainment,
but
we're
at
37
percent
of
the
way
into
the
quarter.
So
that's
basically
how
we
determine
that,
as
if
we're
behind
the
ball
in
large,
this
is
sort
of
where
we've
been
each
quarter.
A
A
A
But
I
think,
because
we
were
so
ahead
in
the
first
part
of
the
year
it
was
giving
us
this
false
sense
of
security,
like
the
number
we're
really
accountable
for
is
the
mql's
number.
So
you
want
to
keep
us
focused
there,
so
that
is
removed.
But
if
anybody's
curious
you
can
totally
continue
to
follow
along
and
with
that
I
will
hand
it
over
to
luke's,
lead,
show
and
tell.
B
Yep
sorry
y'all,
I'm
in
transport
here
in
my
house,
cool,
so
I'll
kick
off,
show
and
tell
sorry
my
video's
not
on,
but
I
will
sorry
so
we're
not
prepared
I'll
hand
it
over
to
rebecca
dodd
to
kick
us
off.
C
Sure
thing
just
to
remind
everyone.
The
goal
for
this
portion
of
the
call
is
that
anyone
who
wants
to
contribute
can
share
something
that
they're
proud
of
that
they
completed
this
week.
It
says,
screen
sharing,
is
highly
encouraged.
I'm
not
going
to
share
my
screen,
because
the
thing
that
I
have
to
share
is
a
video
which
actually
does
the
whole
demo
for
us.
So
I
would
encourage
anyone
watching
this
video
later
to
check
out
the
video
that
we
recorded
of
me
walking
through
the
log
traffic
review
from
the
previous
quarter.
C
There
is
a
link
to
the
video
of
that
in
the
agenda
and
then
also
I've
added
a
link
to
the
issue,
which
is
it
which
it's
based
on
and
would
encourage
anyone
if
you
have
thoughts,
theories
or
hunches
about
any
of
the
things
that
were
observed,
feel
free
to
add
to
that
issue.
I'm
busy
documenting
some
of
the
key
takeaways
or
any
kind
of
strategic
strategic
changes
in
the
handbook
at
the
moment.
C
So
with
that,
I
will
hand
over
to
monica
to
talk
to
us
about
templates.
D
Hello,
I
will
share
my
screen.
Okay,
so
in
the
beginning
of
august
we
created
some
content
templates
just
to
streamline
the
design
process,
the
design
end
of
ebooks
and
white
papers.
D
D
We
will
probably
do
another
run
through
with
those
templates
just
to
streamline
them
even
further,
based
on
what
we
learned
using
them.
So
some
of
the
fonts
needed
to
be
adjusted.
We
and
this
ebook
is
a
great
example.
Thanks
chrissy,
this
was
fun
to
work
on
with
you
how
this
ebook
used
a
lot
of
code
and
like
the
templates,
didn't
really
have
like
a
style
for
code.
So
that's
something
that
we
could
go
back
and
revise
the
templates
with
just
to
make
them
even
more
usable
in
the
future.
D
This
was
another
ebook
for
get
ops
which
was
just
showing
how
like
each
ebook
has
the
same
like
base.
But
then
you
can
kind
of
like
add
and
customize
add
colors
change
elements
to
it,
so
it
did
help
just
make
everything
more
efficient
on
the
design
end.
And
then
here
is
a
white
paper.
So
the
white
there's
another
template
for
the
white
paper
and
this
one
right
here
we
actually
added
an
author
bio.
D
So
that's
something
that
we
could
also
add
to
the
templates
moving
forward
because
we
didn't
have
that
initially,
but
these
were
a
lot
of
fun
to
work
on,
so
you
can
dive
into
them
deeper
and
then
the
other
thing
that
I
wanted
to
mention
is
that
we
actually
have
a
diversity,
inclusion
and
belonging
training.
So
there's
a
template
for
it
and
anyone
can
create
a
copy
of
this
and
assign
it
to
themselves,
and
you
all
can
go
through
the
training
and
I
highly
recommend
it.
I
learned
a
lot
it.
D
I
thought
it
was
going
to
be.
You
know
like
those
corporate
trainings
like
I
thought
it
was
going
to
be
kind
of
superficial,
but
it
actually
went
into
a
lot
of
like
real
life
scenarios,
with
co-workers
working
on
global
teams
like
people
with
cultural
differences.
D
How
to
engage
with
co-workers
about
events
happening
outside
of
work,
so
I
thought
that
it
was
really
useful,
given
the
time
that
we're
in
and
just
how
to
be
more
empathetic
to
the
people
that
you
work
with
every
day.
So
I
would
encourage
you
all
to
participate
in
that.
A
All
right,
so
I'm
just
gonna
share
my
screen
real
quick.
I
figured
there
might
be
questions
about
the
trials
thing,
so
I
just
wanted
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
the
investigation
we've
been
doing
this
week,
so
this
has
taken
most
of
my
exploration
time
so
right
now
we
have
three
causes.
I
wish
I
could
tell
you.
We'd
found
the
smoking
gun
the
root
cause,
but
we're
not
quite
there.
Yet.
The
number
one
potential
cause
is
a
pretty
major
change
to
the
trial
on
boarding
flow.
A
But
when
that
was
originally
rolled
out,
it
created
some
issues
where
sometimes
the
trial
signup
flow
wasn't
completed
and
there's
a
link
in
the
agenda
doc
with
a
detailed
explanation,
but
that
probably
caused
a
pretty
major
drop
in
august,
which
is
this
last
bar
here.
We're
also
seeing
we've
only
got
51
trials
so
far
in
september,
so
that's
also
a
little
bit
concerning
so
I'm
not
totally
sure
the
fix
rolled
out,
maybe
36
to
48
hours
ago.
So
we
still
need
to
just
make
sure
that
that
worked.
A
We
also
saw
some
reduction
in
web
traffic,
especially
to
key
pages
where
the
conversion
happens
like
the
front
page
and
pricing
page
and
back
in
april,
we
removed
the
trial
sign
up
call
to
action
from
the
pricing
page,
so
that
might
also
be
having
an
effect.
That's
pretty
substantial
because
that's
a
major
traffic
page
for
us,
so
until
we
figure
out
what's
going
on
I'll,
continue
to
update
on
this,
and
I
want
to
make
sure
it's
super
transparent,
so
you
all
know
what's
going
on,
but
at
least
right
now.
A
I
think
it's
very
little
that
we
have
control
over
in
this
team,
but
I
think
we
can
be
advising
a
lot
more
on
how
to
make
that
a
good
experience.
So
if
you
have
any
hunches
around
places
where
you
see
a
lot
of
friction
or
you
feel
like
you've
identified
an
area
that
could
be
contributing
to
this,
I'd
really
love
to
know,
because
it's
been
surprising
how
many
different
factors
are
at
play:
there's
a
lot
of
a
b
tests
and
things
going
on.
A
E
Hi
everyone,
so
one
of
the
things
that
we
do
on
the
content
team
is,
you
know
we
write
these
cool
ebooks
and
monica
shared
the
get
ups
ebooks
that
are
going
live
the
get
ops,
kubernetes
and
get
lab
ebook
is
going
live
tomorrow,
which
is
really
exciting,
but
one
thing
that
we
do
is
we
add
these
ebooks
to
as
merch
items
on
the
blog.
So
if
you
write
a
blog,
you
can
choose
an
ebook
or
a
piece
of
content
to
sort
of
promote
that
blog.
E
E
And
then
here
is
the
issue
where
we
add
it
as
a
merge
item,
and
here
is
the
merge
request,
and
then
here
is
what
it's
going
to
look
like
on
the
on
the
blog
handbook
page.
So
when
you're
writing
a
blog,
you
can
add
these
cool
merch
items.
You
know.
So
if
you're
writing
a
blog
post
on
something
ci
related,
you
can
choose
like
the
single
application,
ci
cd
ebook,
to
add
to
that
blog,
and
then
this
is
what
it
looks
like.
E
F
So
the
first
thing
over
here
is:
we
had
a
bunch
of
devops
tool,
comparison,
pdfs
and
the
way
they
were
being
generated
is.
It
was
also
generating
an
html
page
along
with
the
pdf
during
the
build-
and
I
worked
with
mahesh-
who
indicated
that
we
are
depreciating
these,
so
I
removed
all
of
them
and
set
redirects
this.
There
are
a
ton
of
pdfs,
so
it
really
it
makes
our
build
faster
and
also
really
helps
with
seo.
F
And
then
the
second
thing
that's
going
this
week
is
a
lot
of
these
devops
comparison
have
two
pages
with
duplicate
content,
that's
bad
for
seo,
and
also
bad
for
build
times.
For
example,
we
have
slash
github
and
then
also
github
versus
get
lab.
F
So
again,
I'm
working
with
mahesh
so
that
we
can
delete
all
these
folders
under
here
each
have
individual
pages
and
remove
those
from
the
build
and
redirect
them
to
the
now
pages
that
we're
directing
to
which
is
the
tool
versus
gitlab.html
and
keep
working
on
that,
but
just
kind
of
cleaning
up
and
refactoring
that
code,
making
it
clean,
and
I
will
pass
it
off
to
math.
G
Thank
you.
I
have
a
quick,
I
don't
normally
share
like
presentationy
stuff,
but
I
thought
this
one
was
worth
sharing
for
the
sales
kickoff
event
in
2021
we're
doing
some
branding
and
my
thought
was
rather
than
the
traditional
in-house
design
team,
where
it
can
sometimes
feel
like
we're
a
bit
of
a
pixel
vending
machine.
G
I
wanted
to
come
out
as
more
of
a
like
an
agency
style
presentation
so
coming
up
with
you
know
what
I
would
typically
do
with
the
client
and
it's
it
went
over
quite
well
showing
three
options.
You
know
in
all
the
different
color
forms
examples
of
how
it
looks
on
products
all
that
kind
of
stuff,
because
it
is
an
event
and
the
only
reason
people
go
to
events
is
for
water
bottles
and
tote
bags,
and
t-shirts
so
went
through
the
whole
thing.
G
I
also
created
a
video
to
share
with
the
with
the
sales
kickoff
team
in
true
asynchronous
nature,
so
they
could
review
it
leave
comments
all
that.
So
if
they
didn't
make
a
presentation,
then
then
that
was
totally
cool,
so
that
went
really
well
we're
still
gathering
feedback
and
so
far
the
feedback
is,
is
really
positive
and
I
think
they're
for
sure
can
settle
on
one
of
the
three
directions
so
yeah
more
more
of
a
prepared
foot
forward
rather
than
a
reactive
one.
H
G
H
About
that
one
moment,
while
I
set
this
up,
I
just
realized
the
last
minute
thing
I
could
probably
present
I'm
getting
my
screen
set
up
here
before
I
share,
but
basically
the
the
lowdown
is.
We
have
this
epic,
that's
kind
of
preparation
for
the
cms
and
recently
I
went
through
and
kind
of
organized
it
by
discipline
and
or
not
necessarily
discipline,
but
you
know
kind
of
subject
matter.
H
You
know
so
it's
easier
to
track
who
might
be
working
on
or
if
or
who
might
need
to
work
on
it,
and
then
I
went
through
and
pointed
it.
So,
as
you
can
see,
we
have
the
epic
and
it's.
H
Don't
know
what
happened
here,
it
was
organized
I
apologize,
so
we
have.
Oh
sorry,
I
clicked
on
the
wrong
thing,
so
it's
now
organized
into
design,
front
end
and
full
stack
kind
of
disciplines.
You
know
just
based
on
that's
how
our
our
growth
team
is
currently
set
up
at
the
moment.
H
We
can
also
do
stuff
for
copy
and
whatnot
when
we
get
there,
but
you
can
see
there's
a
lot
of
little
things,
issues
that
were
created
and
if
we
take
a
look
at
my
sprint
board
just
because
we
needed
somewhere
to
organize
okay,
I'm
having
trouble
this
morning,
I
apologize
just
because
we
needed
some
visibility
into
it.
I
assigned
it
to
me
that
doesn't
mean
I'm
necessarily
working
on
it,
but
you
can
see
there's
all
these
little
things
that
go
all
the
way
into.
H
You
know
kind
of
end
of
december,
just
because
they've
been
pointed-
and
there
are
a
lot
of
little
small
things
that
we
need
to
do
so
you
know
like
baseline
styles,
you
know
units
of
measurement
font
sizes
goals.
You
know
try
to
switch
away
from
pixels
to
ems
and
things
like
that.
So
it's
it's!
H
A
very
broad,
large
epic
that
is
going
to
take
a
while
to
complete,
but
it's
mostly
planned
out,
and
I
just
wanted
to
share
that
I've
been
doing
those
updates
just
so
you
know,
we
know
that
we
have
this
coming
up,
even
though
we're
not
working
on
it
at
the
moment.
B
F
Right
so
I'd
like
to
give
a
shout
out
to
chad
from
the
static
site,
editor
group
with
help
of
james
ramsey,
because
they
managed
to
delete
50
000
stopped
review
apps,
which
I
think
may
have
caused
all
the
merge
train
issues,
but
that
speeds
up
or
deploys
and
really
helps
with
the
health
of
our
devops.
So
thank
you
on
debris.
B
I
just
wanted
to
do
a
quick
shout
out
to
suri
for
her
promotion
to
senior
content
marketing
manager.
Yeah,
that's
about
it,
congrats
to
sorry
chrissy.
I
think
you're
next.
E
Sure
so
shout
out
to
the
myth,
the
legend
monica
galetto
for
her
work
on
the
get
ups
kubernetes
and
get
lab
ebook,
so
working

You
know
this
book
had
a
lot
of
code
like
she
said,
and
so
she
was
very
like
she
just
designed
it
in
a
way
that
looked
so
so
much
better
than
I
thought
it
would
be.
So
that's
one
thing
that
I
have
come
to
expect
from
monica's
work
is
that
it
always
looks
so
much
better
than
what
I
imagined
so.
A
Well,
I
think
I'm
next.
I
just
wanted
to
welcome
michael
price
back
from
parental
leave
and
congrats
on
baby
enzo
he's
adorable.
I
believe,
he's
three
weeks
old.
As
of
yesterday,
michael's
gonna
be
part-time
for
the
next
couple
weeks,
but
I
had
a
great
call
with
him
yesterday
and
I
appreciate
he's
kind
of
I
think
he's
been
low-key
slack-stalking
because
he
seems
to
like
know
everything
that's
going
on.
A
So
just
really
appreciate
him
taking
the
time
and
happy
to
have
him
back
and
complete
his
onboarding,
and
I
think
that
ends
the
shout
out
just
a
quick
housekeeping
right
after
this
call,
we
do
have
the
marketing
strategy
and
tactics
call,
which
is
maybe
for
us
a
little
duplicate,
but
you
could
literally
copy
paste
some
of
the
things
that
you
put
in
here
that
you
shared
this
week
and
I
think
a
lot
of
other
people
in
marketing
would
absolutely
love
to
know
so,
especially
things
that
are
beautiful.
