Everyone thank you very much for coming to our quick demo session and we are talking about write-once, deploy anywhere how we can use smart contracts to actually have cross network interoperability.

This is an early look at the work that we've been doing at digital asset I'll be handing over to my colleague Anthony, who will be doing the demo and it's a demo so fresh that I haven't even seen it yet. So we will see quick, a couple of slides just introducing d'amour Before. We jump into the demo donald's a new smart contract language designed specifically for distributed applications. It's very concise.

The goal is that really you just focus on the business logic of your application without having to worry about the underlying platform or infrastructure, just write what adds value to your customers fit for purpose designed from the ground up we're, not repurposing a general-purpose programming language. There's a great session yesterday on the benefits of functional languages and formal methods. Sadam all is designed for distributive applications. It's portable we've demoed before writing the same one demo: application and moving it between platforms and interoperable soon to be interoperable.

Quick summary of use using it today. Yesterday we had a demo with quantum materials Corp around supply chain, we're probably best known for our work with the ASX Australian Securities Exchange, where they're replacing an entire post trade system as 24 years old, called chess, so every single stock, that's traded in Australia, will be cleared and settled through Dan'l working with a Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Similarly, connecting that with Shanghai is there on a derivative standard for their common domain model used across the whole derivatives market, they chose Tamil to be the smart contract representation there, many other projects across healthcare supply chain and financial services, so the the write once run anywhere piece so currently, damn all supports eight platforms, including, as of yesterday the newly announced a hyper ledger. Baizhu integration, so down will canal the same. Dermal application can now run across hyper ledger, Sawtooth, hyper ledger fabric and hopefully, a zoo.

So rather than having to make the selection over which platform you're going to do. First, clients can prove out the value of their terminal application, get their MVP up and running, prove out. The business case then select the platform and that's most suitable for their needs. We recently announced commercial support for Amazon QLD B, as well as Amazon Arora. Just a traditional database-as-a-service quarter is under work underway. We have a cloud service called project apple.

If you don't care about the infrastructure whatsoever, you just want to write your business logic upload it and have it work, that's a server list, type platform and then VMware blockchain is one of our major partners that we've been working with several enterprise clients and they will be commercially supporting download as well, and four of these are available through our partners.

Blockchain technology partners in their sexton for demo on product so going quickly through these, so I think one of the things that we are looking at and thank you very carefully offers, as feels like the industry, is heading towards creating slightly larger islands right. So blockchain technology is breaking down the silos between databases, but we're creating slightly larger silos with disparate networks. Segregated channels are different technology stacks and that's probably not going to converge into one single network or one single solution.

We believe that will still be many different trade-offs for different use cases and industries, and so you know we need to come up with a way that these can actually talk to each other and interoperate.

Another challenge we're looking at is right now, when you want to write an application, you have to pick the platform first and you have to really build that application specific for that platform. So, if you're building a Bezier app, you have to build its solidity and fabric and chain code sawtooth with the variety of their SDKs. There are some cross-platform initiatives. For example, solidity can now run on all three, but what we're trying to do with down--all is really just create completely decoupled.

The business logic of your application from the infrastructure on chip runs so that you can choose from any of the eight or more coming soon. Platforms are supported and onto the the exciting piece getting this true platform: interoperability. Several of our clients, have production products, production systems going into production they're. Looking at using multiple platforms, they have their internal database systems, they're going to have to reconcile still their databases against their blockchain networks and between blockchain networks of different networks that they're participating in with Derril.

Again, our goal is really to try and abstract away as much of that sort of infrastructural complexity. Allow you to write the application once move it between platforms, if you have to, and now also do a sort of Tomic transactions and we've assets between platforms. So that's where I will hand over to Anthony for the fun bit great.

Thanks Dan, so I'm gonna be giving a short presentation, but has anybody here ever messed up a live demo before you're about to give it? Okay, good many many hands, because I have done the same so I? Actually, luckily, my coworker reminded me that I should record a video of this. Just in case such a thing happens, and so here we go as Dan had touched on, though when it comes to using damn.

Oh damn, oh is currently great in that you can write your code and just deploy it on whatever chain you want, or whatever ledger you want, but once it's on that ledger you're not going to be able to have your Ledger's talking to each other.

So that's kind of what we're working on now and the demo I'm showing you today is a very simple little crypto, Kitty's demo I would think we all remember crypto kitties, and in this case, though, you know we're running on on private permissions Ledger's that are great because it doesn't cost anything to remove our kitties. But right now, if we were running demo, lon sequel over here or running demo on fabric, like we have on the screen, we wouldn't be able to move our crypto kitties.

They would be stuck on sequel, they would be stuck on fabric and we ultimately don't want that. We want to be able to move our kitties between chains. So we have three participants here: Alice, Bob and Carlos Alice is only on sequel. Bob has the special ability that he has identities on both sequel and fabric and Carlos is on fabric. So by having a party here who's connected to both, we can actually move our kitties.

So we'll see there right now so Alice over here who can all she's the only one notice who can see her kitty and you can actually see that where it says seen by Alice she'll go ahead and send that Kitty to Bob. You can actually now see that it says it's seen by both Bob and Alice, because Alice is now making an offer across a chain from her sequel database or ledger to Bob's a sequel ledger. So Bob's gonna see it says, that's a great looking kitty.

I'm gonna accept it Bob because he has he's on both of these two different Ledger's can actually do this special thing where he can move the kitty grumpy from who's, actually a very famous Instagram cat.

If anybody's not aware, you should check him out, he can move that Kitty to the fabric domain, because, right now you can see it says that the Kitty lives on sequel, so we're going to move that Kitty over to fabric and now the Kitty's on fabric, so Bob can actually now send it to Carlos, but wouldn't be able to send it back to Alice unless he moved it back. So he sends the kitty over to Carlos and it takes a moment and then Carlos says that's a great kitty and accepts the offer from Bob.

So this is obviously a silly little demo nobody's going to be wanting to in their Enterprise deployments, move representations of cats on Ledger's. But what it shows here is that these are very complicated, powerful state transitions that happen atomically across these Ledger's and that's really.

The key takeaway here is that these types of things are very much not easily possible right now and I would caveat this with over- probably the next three to six months, we're going to see damos interoperability layer here really just builds itself up in robustness and be able to do these types of transitions for far more serious, far more mission-critical, far more enterprise things. So with that, that's the demo!

Okay, so the question was: what happens when you move an asset say from the sequel ledger to the fabric ledger like Bob did before. Essentially, what happens is the to demo run times over the interoperability protocol? They talk to each other and they make sure that, on the sequel side, for example, that that Kitty is removed.

This is sequel, so there's probably just a commit that actually deletes the the row and on the fabric side, there's the demo runtime, making sure that the kitty is added and recorded on the chain, and it ensures that both of those things happen, or neither of them happen, which is how we still get the best otama city that we can get right now.

I, don't know the exact specifics on it, but that's the essential high-level overview I'm more than happy to connect you with the people actually working on this, and they could give far more technical details on it. Yes,.

Yes, so the question is: why would you have multiple databases or Ledger's that you want it to be interchangeable and the real answer is that quite a lot of systems in the wild end up being on multiple different things? No matter how hard you try so internally within one company, you might have different people who have different preferences say absolutely not. I am NOT using that technology I'm using this text stack and they'll build their own separate silos even internally, and then externally, when you're working across multiple companies.

You know you're trying to come to one single consensus on your data, but you also have to come to consensus on your databases and that's actually kind of really hard so having the ability to interrupt between them basically makes that a non-issue. So you can say: okay, you can choose whatever tech stack is appropriate for you, I can choose whatever text acts appropriate for me, and we can all you know play on a somewhat shared space.

And also just whets that we have some clients who are looking just purely at internal use cases to start with, so they don't necessarily want to spin up an entire blockchain network just for that internal use case. So they're perfectly happy for that initial. You know: MVP start use case to do that on a centralized database, but they want to know that their future proofed and they'll be able to connect to other databases or other blockchain networks and actually move those assets to them. So they can retire. The database in the future as well.

Oh so the question was: how do we assure that these things happen? The ultimate answer is the Domino run time and the answer our protocol is checking and making sure that both things have happened and then, if they don't happen, it makes sure that it's not committing to the change. So they kind of pre negotiate and then make their commitments. It's ultimately kind of impossible to do true, otama city across these types of things, but it's very much functions in that way.

We have a white paper that we can also share with you. That goes into a lot of more details. This is actually something that we've been working on a digital I set for about three years or so now. So it's part of our old ledger design, sigh.

What was the last part of the question, sir?.

So the only other public one as of now there'll, be one more coming public, hopefully in about a month, but the only part of the public one right now is the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, so we're doing a project with them called stock Connect, which is essentially connecting Hong Kong with Shanghai to allow greater trading windows for the US by side to invest in mainland China stock. So that's another stock exchange base project that we're working on then there's at least one more off the top of my head. They'll be public soon,.
