financial
services
industry
is
under
heavy
pressure
to
innovate

Blockchain
technology
has
certainly
opened
the
opportunity
to
react.
Attack
the
financial
industry,
but
challenges
are
still
remaining.

organizations
are
often
comprised
of
hundreds,
if
not
thousands,
of
applications.
There
are
custom
built,
they
are
acquired
from
third
parties
and
often
operate
in
multiple
tiers
of
different
operating
systems.
Blockchain
applications
cannot
exist
without
being
integrated
in
this
complex
customer
environment
so
to
support
common
business
processes
and
data
sharing.
These
applications
and
networks
need
to
be
integrated
together,
and
this
integration
of
course
needs
to
provide
efficient,
reliable
and
secure
data
exchange
between
multiple
enterprise
applications.

we
have
provided
an
overview
of
catalyst,
it
is
time
to
reveal
our
developed
use
case.
The
core
idea
here
was
to
create
pay
per
mile
insurance
products.
This
means
that
you
are
only
paying
insurance
premium
at
the
end
of
the
month,
based
on
the
mileage
that
you
drove
the
players
in
the
ecosystem
are
a
car
company,
the
IOT
telematics
company,
which
provides
the
dongle
for
you
to
track
your
mileage,
an
insurance
company,
the
blockchain
Platte
and
an
integration
partner
intellect
EU.

Manual
administration
of
contracts
is
still
very
prone
to
fraud,
and
it's
quite
costly
and
even
systems
which
try
to
reduce
those
problems,
replicate
data
across
the
enterprise
and
aren't
easy
to
reconcile.
So
this
creates
further
challenges
for
new
partners
that
have
the
burden
to
integrate
such
a
diverse
ecosystem.
Therefore,
new
systems,
new
services
or
products
like
our
pay
per
mile
insurance,
are
hard
words
to
offer.
So
summing,
this
all
up,
the
embracement
of
new
business
opportunities
is
discouraged.

demo,

quick
look
at
the
architecture
of
our
use
case.
So,
as
we
can
see,
we
have
our
card
dongle
communication
going
through
catalyst,
mqtt
connector.
We
also
have
several
catalyst
SQL
connectors,
which
are
instantiated
to
connect
to
the
insurance-company
legacy
databases.

the
moment
everyone
was
striving
for,
as
we'll
start,
the
demonstration
of
intellect
to
use
paper
Malia's
case
powered
by
catalysts,
a
product
which
enabled
the
development
of
the
integration,
an
automation
for
this
use
case
in
a
quick,
easy
and
reliable
way.
At
this
instance,
we'll
take
our
time
to
examine
three
applications
on
the
screen.
So
on
the
left,
there
is
the
IOT
device
simulator,
which
plays
the
role
of
the
dongle
installed
in
the
customers,
car,
which
is
supposed
to
send
mileage
updates
to
catalyst
on
the
right
side.

There's
the
mobile
application,
presenting
a
dashboard
for
the
customer,
which
lists
all
the
customers
bills,
which
you
can
view
and
accept,
checked
any
new
incoming
bills
for
his
mileage.
So
we'll
now
quickly
log
in
here
and
switch
our
focus
to
the
middle
of
the
screen
where
another
dashboard
is
shown.
So
in
this
dashboard
we
will
display
it
will
display
every
single
step
of
our
use
case
as
soon
as
the
API
is
are
called
so
assuming
that
our
customers
in
short
car,
went
for
a
ride
and
drove
for
130
miles.

dongle
device
sends
the
mileage
update
and
they
meet
immediately.
We
can
observe
some
activity
in
the
dashboard.
Let's
take
our
time
to
explain,
detail
every
single
step
of
what
has
happened
here.
So
the
first
thing
that
happened
is
that
the
IOT
device
has
symptomology
played
to
catalysts
catalyst,
receives
it
and
enriches
that
information
from
the
dongle
device,
where
the
user
details
from
legacy
database
and
stores
it
in
the
ledger.

Then
a
smart
contract
in
the
ledger
kicks
in
to
calculate
a
premium
for
this
drive
and
then
after
the
premium
is
calculated,
catalyst
creates
a
new
bill
and
issues
it
to
the
customer.
So,
on
the
right
side
of
the
mobile
application,
we
can
already
see
that
there
is
a
new
bill
and
the
customer
can
choose
to
approve
or
reject
it
as
we're
seeing
and
given
our
implemented
business
logic,
the
130
miles
results
in
the
request
to
pay
forty
one
dollars
and
sixty
cents
for
the
premium.

Okay,
so
again,
assuming
that
the
customer
approves
the
payment,
catalyst
will
now
cover
the
second
part
of
our
use
case
and
this
time
after
receiving
the
user
acceptance
and
storing
the
new
status
of
the
transaction
in
the
ledger.
Catalyst
interacts
with
the
payment
provider
or
with
a
bank
that
enables
the
authorization
of
the
page.
So
after
getting
the
positive
response
from
the
bank,
it
changes
the
payment
status
and
stores
the
result
of
the
transaction
in
the
ledger.

again,
as
we
can
see
it
there,
okay,
so
as
you
can
see
as
well
we're
all
set,
we
have
the
authorized
payments.
So
it's
there
in
light,
green
and
now
just
to
make
sure
that
every
transaction
is
safely
stored
in
the
ledger.
We
can
go
to
the
interface
of
the
ledger
itself
and
review
the
latest
interactions,
while
checking
that
everything
is
there
safe
and
sound.
So
right
now
we're
querying
the
channel.
We
can
see
here
the
the
various
blocks
that
exist.

looking
for
the
first
operation
for
when
the
IOT
device
sent
a
mileage,
update
and
created
the
first
block
here
for
this
use
case,
and
you
have
there
the
new
status
with
the
premium
for
and
the
mileage.
So
for
our
next
step,
the
status
changed
to
pending
this
status
relates
to
when
the
bill
for
the
mileage
is
issued
and
we
were
waiting
for
the
user
acceptance.
So
when
that
inputs
actually
arrives
from
the
user
to
approve
the
bill
will
see
that
the
status
there
is
changed
to
user
approved.
