From YouTube: Internet Society Q2 Community Forum - English
Description
ISOC Q2 Community Forum. 15 April 2015 - The agenda has a special focus on Latin America and the Caribbean and was opened by Raúl Echeberría, our Vice President for Global Engagement. Olaf Kolkman, our Chief Internet Technology Officer, followed up with a look at the top issues related to Internet Technology - such as our approach to Internet security. We also made sure that we covered the latest developments on Internet Governance and feature some very interesting data from the recently completed ISOC survey on the topic. Finally, there is an update on our upcoming global virtual event: InterCommunity 2015.

Commitment
to
build
and
strengthen
our
channels
of
communication
with
you,
the
community..
They
provide
an
important
venue
and
opportunity
to
share
ideas,
to
discuss
the
many
issues
facing
the
internet,
and,
indeed,,
the
internet
society..
In
the
first
forum.
This
year
we
heard
our
president
and
ceo,
kathy
brown,
outline
the
goals
and
priorities
for
this
year,
as
we
continue
working
to
bring
the
internet
to
everyone.
Everywhere.

Better
making
use
of
the
vast
ability
to
speak
different
languages.,
as
james
well
said
at
the
beginning,
in
the
introduction,,
my
name
is
raul.,
I'm
vice
president
of
global
engagement
and
relations
for
the
internet
society..
I
decided
to
keep
the
title
in
english
because
in
spanish
it
doesn't
make
much
sense.,
let's
keep
it,
as
vice
president
of
global
engagement.,
and
I'm
going
to
mention,.
First.

And
the
interest
into
the
community
that
we
undertake
in
other
areas.,
it's
quite
impressive
to
see,
because
only
eight
months
ago
I
joined
the
staff
of
the
internet
society
eight
months
and
day
after
day.
I
am
still
surprised
to
see
what
the
team
of
global
engagement
does
and
the
many
interesting
things
that
we
do
every
day..
Let
me
mention
some
of
them.

on
this
topic
and
at
the
same
time
it's
interesting
to
point
out
that
we
always
do
it
in
partnership
locally,
with
different
stakeholders,,
not
just
--.
Now
I
remember
some
cases
where
we
were
working
with
the
private
sector
and
cases
with
the
local
government
and
cases
where
we
work
with
the.

It's
the
95th
meeting
that
will
be
held
in
buenos

in
april
of
next
year.
focused
on
that,.
We
have
worked
for
many
years
in
promoting
that
ietf
activity
in
the
region..
Those
are
the
key
issues
that
we
have
been
working
on.
with
this.
I
give
back
the
floor
to
raul..
Thank
you
all
for
your
time.

Dominican
republic.,
if
from
the
community,
we
receive
initiatives
to
create
a
chapter,,
they
have
to
meet
all
the
mechanisms.
meet
all
the
provisions
for
the
creation
of
a
chapter..
If
they
do,,
they
will
be
recognized
and
they
will
become
a
family
of
the
chapters
of
the
internet
society
around
the
world..
I
think
that
there
are
no.
B
B
B
B
B
B
Have
people
inside
each
regional
team
whose
key
responsibility
is
to
work
with
the
chapters.
we
are
launching
next
month?
We
are
launching
this
new
grant
program..
We
want
to
integrate
them
much
more,,
not
just
in
the
political
world,
but
also
to
tell
our
stories..
We
also
want
to
have
a
much
more
fluid
communication
with
the
chapters
so
that
they
can
help
us
so
that
we
can
help
each
other
telling
each
other
the
things
that
we
do
together
for
the
benefit
of
the
global
community..
So
I
think
that
not
everything
is
a
matter
of
structures.

Talking
about
the
deployment
of
routing
pki.,
I
don't
want
to
get
too
technical
in
this,,
but
this
is
something
where
a
global
community.
We
can
help
each
other.
reaching
out
to
your
local
isps
when
you
talk
to
them
and
point
them
to
this
document
and
having
them
sign
up.
make
sure,
of
course,
that
they.

General
purpose
pc:
you
can
connect
to
the
open
internet
and
just
send
packets
into
that
internet,,
but
that's
a
property
that
is
worth
previews,
preserving
because
it
brings
all
of
these
opportunities..
So
the
risk
of,
say,
infiltration
versus
the
openness
of
the
system
is
something
that
you
constantly
need
to.
Balance.
C
C
C
C
C
Better
place.,
and
that
is
taking
a
user's
perspective
on
how
do
I
actually
trust
my
environment.,
and
I
know
that,
for
instance,
dnssec
and
dane,
are
not
the
only
way
in
which
people
are
looking
at.
How
can
we
make
sure
that
we
have
trust
even
if
there
are,
for
instance,
a
few
rogue
actors
elsewhere
in
the
system?.
C
A
That
there
will
be
further
information
about
intercommunity
2015
on
our
connect
platform,
as
well
as
our
website
and
you'll,
find
all
the
details.
You
need
there
about
the
forthcoming
global
meeting..
I
hope
it's
clear
from
the
enthusiasm
that
raul
and
olaf
have
shared
today,,
that
we
are
extremely
excited
about
harnessing
the
power
of
the
internet
this
way
and
innovating
for
the
community
through
intercommunity
2015.,
as
we
get
closer
to
the
event
that
excitement
will
only
grow,
and
this
is
really
a
huge
new.
A
Languages.,
you
can
be
ensured
that
we’re
working
really
hard
to
create
an
event
that
is
compelling
and
a
schedule
that
will
maximize
global
participation..
With
that.
We
hope
very
much
indeed
that,
as
many
of
you
and
more
will
be
able
to
join
us
on
the
7th
and
8th
of
april,
depending
on
where
you
are
in
the
world
and
where
you
are
on
the
internet.
for
now,.
I'd
like
to
thank
all
of
you
for
participating
in
today's
forum
and
until
next.
