The Internet Society’s Online Trust Audit & Honor Roll recognizes excellence in online consumer protection, data security, and privacy practices. This 10th annual audit of more than 1,200 predominantly consumer-facing websites is the largest undertaken by OTA, and was expanded this year to include payment services, video streaming, sports sites, and healthcare.
What did we learn? On Wednesday 24 April 2019 join the Internet Society and Audit sponsor (and Honor Roll recipient) Symantec for a discussion about the Audit results, overall trends in privacy and security, and the best practices that can improve their security and privacy posture.

8 October 2018 - Jeff Wilbur delivers a keynote at the Internet Society's New York Chapter event called "How to Make Trustworthy IoT".
Data security and privacy must not be an afterthought. Organizations should take steps to protect all consumer data permanently, because every breach erodes trust. Organizations are entrusted with valuable information with the expectation that those in charge will take the necessary actions to earn that trust. This is responsible data stewardship.
The Internet Society’s Online Trust Alliance (OTA) identifies and promotes security and privacy best practices that build consumer confidence in the Internet. Leading public and private organizations, vendors, researchers, and policymakers contribute to and follow OTA’s guidance to help make online transactions safer and better protect users’ data. The Internet Society is a global nonprofit dedicated to ensuring an open, globally connected, trustworthy, and secure Internet for everyone.
