we
got
voted
in

we

build
a
community
center

Cape
Town,
where
we're
all
based
well,
the
three
of
us
are
based.
Our
Founders
are
based

Singapore

some
guys
in
in
Australia,
and
we
submitted
it
into
the
graphical
grow,
cardano
foundation
and
I
worked
sort
of
category
sorry
and
then
yeah.
We
asked
for
a
hundred
thousand
dollars,
which
seems
like
a
lot.

But
if
you
look
at
the
the
presentation
it
it
was,
it
was
well
spent
and
well
deserved.
It
was
a
lot
more
work
than
we
anticipated
specifically
for
me,
I
drove
over
a
6
000
kilometers,
just
up
and
down
to
get
the
place
built.
We
were
over
quoted
on
everything,
so
we
took
a
very
Hands-On
approach
that
I'll
get
into
with
the
presentation,
but
it's
been
an
absolute
journey
and
yeah
we're
just
we're
just
getting
warmed
up
guys.
It's
it's
going
to
be
a
lot
of
fun,
yeah,
so
yeah.

outsider

seeing
the
community
that
I
heard
about
in
the
whole
cardano
ecosystem
and
I
believe
we
needed
to
take
a
step
into
the
light
and
build
a
space
that
would
encourage
growth
and
collaboration.

In-Person
meetings,
we
needed
to
establish
a
collateral
of
spaces
for
blockchain
innovation
in
key
cities,
starting
in
Cape
Town.
Honestly,
it's
just
a
place
where
we
can
meet
and
put
faces
to
a
name.
I
I
want
to
do
win
the
argument
by
saying
yeah
we're
not
going
to
put
up
Isla
on
a
shop
for
shoes,
we're
going
to
have
a
place
where
we
can
collaborate,
hold
hackathons
and
just
be
real
people.

that's
where
the
idea
came
from
and
then
we
put
out
the
proposal
yeah
next

leadership
and
strategy,
the
Colorado
Center
in
Cape,
Town,
South,
Africa,
Blends,
a
cafe
gallery
and
Event
Center
all
focused
around
cardano
and
web3.
As
you
walk
in
see
I'm
kind
of
ashamed,
that
I
couldn't
be
there
today,
so
you
can
see
it
in
the
back,
but
it's
a
massive
cardano
Center
logo,
with
the
logo
on
there
and
Center,
provides
the
following
things:
it's
training
for
new
users.

a

next

I'm
gonna
read
through
everything,
but
it
was.
It
was
challenging.
You
know
any
anything
that
we
had
to
do
with
the
real
world
and
in
South
Africa
I,
don't
know
if
any
of
you
are
familiar
with
a
thing
called
load
shedding,
but
it's
essentially
it's
essentially
a
break
in
in
the
days
where
you
have
Slots
of
two
and
a
half
hours
or
four
hours,
maybe
three
four
times
a
day
where
the
electricity
cuts
out
and
yeah.

It's
on
a
schedule
like
that.
So
we
had
to
factor
in
like
that
we
needed
backup
power.
We
needed
we
needed
to
find
a
location,
so
operational
hurdles
like
navigating
Staffing
contracts,
electrical
issues,
getting
a
contracts
lawyer
involved,
because
you
know
this
is
a
public
project.
So
we
wanted
everything
really
about
board.

So
whenever
anybody
wants
to
replicate
in
another
place
can
sort
of
see
the
the
issues
and
the
pitfalls
before
they
need
to
get
involved,
a
local
support
very
limited
in
Cape
Town
contractor
issues
everybody
over
quoted,
so
we
just
literally
guys
we
built
the
bar
with
our
own
hands.
We
we
yeah,
we
carpented.
We
installed
the
speakers
I
crawled
through
walls,
so
many
times
we
broke
open
stuff.
It
took
us
three
months
to
get
water
and
electricity
sorted,
and
this
is
a
decent
location,
we're
not
talking
about
a
hovel.

This
is
just
dealing
with
bureaucratics
yeah.
Quite
a
lot
of
people
came
in
at
the
arms
said,
like
we
said,
collaboration,
roadblocks,
fruitless
partnership
meetings,
people
coming
in,
but
just
wanting
to
take
I'm
sure
everybody
can
nod
their
head
at
this
like
because
they've
probably
dealt
with
this
quite
a
fair
bit,
and
nobody
really
willing
to
sort
of
invest
their
time
and
effort
into
it.

You
ever
see
because,
like
damn
it,
if
you
want
to
be
don't
want
to
deal
with
banks,
this
is
a
great
great
story
guys,
but
I'm
not
going
to
get
into
it
balancing
act,
because
this
is
not
our
our
only
job
and
what
works.
So
we
had
to
book
a
place
and
and
continue
with
all
the
products
that
we're
building
and
there's
loads
of
them
on
the
cardano
ecosystem
that
we're
busy
developing.
So
it
was
a
quite
a
busy
balancing
act
with
a
toddler
at
home
as
well.

It's
a
little
less
I
mentioned
and
security
concerns.
We
had
a
break
in
a
month
in
after
opening,
so
we
had
to
put
up
very
subtle,
bars
and
they're
like
yeah
sort
of
eyes
in
the
sky
and
all
that
sort
of
stuff
and
get
yeah.
It's
just
the
real
stuff
that
you
deal
with,
but
luckily
it's
all
been
sorted
now,
but
yeah
teething
issues
yeah.
So
just
some
of
the
challenges
guys
like
I
can
go
on
about
that.
But
we
don't
need
to
lessons
along
the
way.

Community
engagement,
genuine
resonance
for
the
community,
it's
tougher
than
me
a
presentation,
but
the
fact
that
we
have
a
cordana
center
up.
Now.
It's
just
opening
doors.
People
are
approaching
us
people
with
real
interest.
You
know
dedication
is
key
on
wavering
commitment,
essential
to
bring
Visions
alive.

get
loads
of
people
coming
in
that
are
in
to
wear
through
space
that
have
good
intentions,
but
don't
really
know
how
to
make
it
happen,
and-
and
you
know
it's
good
to
be-
that
sounding
board
as
sort
of
a
flagship,
space
planning
and
strategy
Beyond
funding,
so
caring
funds
was
a
start
but
strategizing
and
making
this
into
a
feasible
business
is
the
key
right.
So
we
saw
some
comments
like
guys.
It
just
looks
like
a
bar.
It's
like
well
yeah,
South
Africa,
we
drink.

We,
we
needed
to
incorporate
that
you
can't
have
a
space
with
people
coming.
It's
like
yeah.
Sorry,
like
you
know,
we
don't
serve
wine
here,
but
getting
a
liquor
license
in
South.
Africa
is
also
a
process,
and
that's
taken
two
lawyers
work
and
three
months
of
submissions
and
and
all
that
sort
of
stuff.
But
the
key
thing
now
is
to
make
that
it's
never
going
to
be
a
revenue
or
a.

We
want
it
to
be
a
break-even
model
and
everything
else.
That
is
on
top
of
that
to
go
back
into
the
community,
almost
like
a
Dao
as
a
word
eventually.
But
it's
it's
not
a
business
model
to
make
money.
It's
a
business
model
to
keep
existing
perpetually
and
but
getting
up
to
that
point
is
is
tricky
and
it's
real
world
stuff
and
dealing
with
people
yeah.

mortar
physical

working
away

keep

want

continued
sort

trials

tribulations

what
works

what
doesn't
work

be
sort

manifested

people

replicate

leveraging
our
expertise
to
assist
emerging,
centers
globally,

has

to
be
different

Milestone
module,
so
maybe
a
little
bit
of
the
history,
how
it
happened
that
we
moved
to
the
Milestone
module
so
historically
a
project
Catalyst,
distributed
funding
based
mostly
on
the
trust.
So
the
community
voted
on
projects
at
fund
and
funded
projects
just
delivered
their
premises
and
made
to
the
community
and
initially
found
the
project
or
just
asked
to
attend
only
online

weekly
meeting
and
they
provided
progress
to
the
community.

So
it
must
have
changed
with
the
number
of
new
funds
and
then
a
progress
reporting
was
introduced
over
a
year
ago.
So
since
then,
each
month
we
each
funded
project
had
to
submit
monthly
report
where
they
showed
the
evidence
they
made
within
last
month,
and
every
Committee
Member
could
check
the
progress
and
everything
was
stored
in
the
spreadsheet.
So
it
became
more
and
more
difficult.

and
the
effort
to
better
monitor
the
progress
of
funded
project
took
a
significant
step
and
we
introduced
a
milestone-based
funding
for
fund

pilot
project
and
initially
it
was
made
using
spreadsheet
again
so
to
handle
a
statement
of
Milestone
project
created,
Milestone
module
and,
firstly,
it
was
tested
with
support
of
some
funded
project
and
challenge
team
members.
So,
and
thank
you
so
much
for
your
support
because
of
that
we
could
improve
our
tour
and
because
you
provided
us
a
lot
of
feedback
so
that
we
could
incorporate
before
the
final
release.
