From YouTube: Jenkins Advocacy and Outreach SIG meeting, 19.12.2019. Elections retrospective & FOSDEM
Description
Regular Advocacy and Outreach SIG meeting. We had a Jenkins Board and Officer Elections retrospective, and also discussed our plans for FOSDEM.

A
A
So
how
do
the
agenda
is
actually
quite
shot?
So
we
have,
one
I
can
propose
is
about
the
Jenkins
elections
retrospective.
So
if
you
were
not
following
the
Jenkins
project,
we
had
elections
which
just
finished,
which
would
go
to
Jenks
a
your
website,
that
is
a
blog
post
with
results
and
one
main
thing
about
these
elections.
These
elections
actually
just
ever
elections
in
the
Janey's
project.
So
since
it
started
in
2012
alone
as
Jenkins
after
the
renaming
we
had
about
consisting
of
three
members,
we
wanted
to
do
elections,
but
ever
had
never
happened.
A
So
finally,
we
have
new
board
so
now
expanded
to
five
people,
so
we
have
good,
aha,
Alec
soul
and
injuring
the
Jenkins.
Both
we
also
have
Kiki
and
other
along
time
margins
contributors
and
get
us
through
the
border
management
processes
and
governance
processes,
and
we
also
have
a
renewed
list
of
officers.
So
we
have
officers
Daniel
back
Elise,
Elise,
dentists,
state
the
security
and
immense
officer.
Olivia
Ian
became
an
interest
watch
officer
so
before
that
the
position
was
empty,
Tyler
Crowe,
he
was
handling
read,
but
now
only
becomes
officer.
So
we
have
mobile
right
there.
A
Oliver
the
ones
are
in
means
a
release
officer.
What
can
anjing
saltiest
uses
since
candidate
testing
and
basically
release
management
and
Markway
who's?
Also
on
the
gold
he
becomes
the
plantation
officer.
This
is
the
new
position
which
was
introduced
this
year,
so
to
emphasize
important.
So
for
the
recommendation
in
the
project,
we
introduced
a
new
role
which
is
aligned
with
the
mutation
special
interests.
So
that's
the
election
results
and
yeah.
A
So
you
may
see
that
it's
less
than
1%,
it's
small,
but
actually,
if
you
take
a
look
at
statistics
of
all
the
elections
like
Apache
foundation
or
whatever
you
can
see
that
the
numbers
are
approximately
the
same,
so
it's
still
300
poles
is
a
big
number
and
thanks
to
everybody
who
voted
thanks
to
everybody
who
helped
that
happen,
special
thanks
to
Olivia
and
Tracy
who
have
driven
the
election
process
to
the
end.
So
now
we'll
have
everything
running,
and
there
is
a
lot
of
things
for
the
boat
to
happen
in
the
future.
A
Like
restoring
governance,
boat
is
like
meetings
whatever,
so
the
things
we
really
need
for
the
it
project
and
to
enabler
that
the
government's
both
will
be
able
to
help
with
it
and
obviously
a
lot
of
improvements,
etc.
We
also
depend
from
the
boat
and
Jenks
Community
House,
so
I
believe
they
will
a
lot
of
communication
between
a
Jenkins
boat
and
vocational
fish.
So.
A
B
C
Unlike
you,
you
mentioned
that
the
participation
rate
was
not
too
far
out
of
range,
so
other
other
boards
and
other
communities
C.
Similarly,
surprisingly,
to
me
anyway,
low
percentages
of
people
who
are
have
been
in
then
somehow
caught
in
contact
with
us,
but
did
bothered
about
that.
That's
a
relief,
that's
good
yeah.
A
So
it
was
just
one
of
the
comments
and
perspectives
and
I
addressed
that
I
went
through
so
yeah.
It's
a
pretty
good
number
of
hold
and
and
lists.
Basically,
it's
not
ten
people.
It's
not
just
candidates
who
voted.
There
is
a
lot
of
active
contributors,
whole
joint
elections,
all
voted,
so
I
believe
that
we
can
say
that
these
elections
are
done
if
we
can
get
to
3,000
contributors
in
the
next
elections
just
in
one
year
and
it's
great,
but
it's
all.
C
A
And
in
order
to
make
it
better
make
sure
you
get
back
from
all
the
participants
so
from
our
watches
to
this
call
we
need
your
feedback,
and
that
is
it
with
respect
to
document
which
was
created
in
order
to
gather
some
comments,
and
this
document
is
still
open.
So
this
meeting
is
just
another
way
to
discuss.
They
came
back
maybe
to
define
some
action
items
and
follow-ups,
but
if
you
want
to
it
for
more
comments
to
the
agenda,
please
do
so
because
this
is
basically
it
will
continue
growing.
A
So
any
any
proposal
or
any
concern
you
have
just
please
put
it
there,
so
we
can
proceed
if
you
want
to
communicate
something
infrared.
So,
for
example,
you
didn't
like
something,
but
you
want
the
results,
a
way
to
travel
to
the
base,
the
things,
but
basically
there
are
two
ways:
one
is
to
send
a
message
to
the
Jenkins
board.
There
is
a
mailing
list
which
is
connected
or
you
can
just
contact
tracing,
so
Tracy
was
leading
the
protest.
A
A
C
So,
for
me
at
least,
I
was
hoping
that
we
would
go
through
the
retrospective
document,
at
least
in
a
conversational
mode,
and
be
sure
that
if
there
were
things
that
were
really
hot
or
anxiety
generating
in
that
document,
we
could
discuss
them.
I
didn't
see
anything
that
caused
me
great
anxiety,
but
I
thought
it
would
be
useful
here
in
this
session.
Tracy
are
you?
Did
we
lose
Tracy?
Yeah
three
seems
like
it's.
A
A
So
this
changes
we
discussed
in
the
community,
we
had
a
governance
meeting
in
September
to
vote
of
them.
There
were
something
like
six
amendments
tabled
in
order
to
which
ensure
the
process.
All
the
amendments
are
accepted
and
before
that
we
discussed
them
in
the
mailing
list,
we
discussed
them
at
the
advocacy
and
outreach
meetings,
so
the
process
evolved
and
it
keeps
evolving.
A
Moreover,
we
get
updates
got
on
this
and
free
communication.
So
was
a
part
of
our
it's
almost
a
crusade,
moving
out
from
Jenkins,
we
key
to
gingka,
say:
oh,
so
we
got
all
governance
documents
etc.
Moved
in
peril
is
walking,
so
you
can
find
the
recent
patients
and
I'm
the
addition
of
of
all
documents
right
on
the
side.
A
Now
you
can
find
them
easily
without
googling,
because
before
that
it
was
just
a
wiki
unmov'd
from
anyway,
and
here,
for
example,
we
have
election
process
which
is
documented
with
all
the
amendments
we
had
and
we
will
follow
these
process
next
year.
Well,
unless
we
apply
a
moment
months
after
the
retrospective
documents,
like
document
also,
these
governance
board,
which
was
all
over,
they
also
updated.
We
are
sooo
waiting
for
virus
and
avatars
from
some
people,
but
yeah.
A
This
page
also
works
okay,
so
it's
great
and
yeah.
We
definitely
go
to
the
development
money
please
and
we
start
a
bit
even
if
we
are
found
feedback
in
2019,
because
we
had
iterations
and
attempts
to
make
2015
and
2016.
So
we
filled
each
number
of
discussions,
another
dead
but
yeah.
Basically,
almost
everybody
was
eligible
to
vote
if
you
had
an
unfit
before
September
2019.
So
basically,
even
you
Carmen
yeah.
C
A
So
yeah
what
else
we
have
here,
a
elections,
a
lot
of
great
candidates.
I,
would
say
that
everybody
who
was
on
the
ballot
was
everybody
well
deserved
to
be
on
the
changes
both
in
the
future.
We
could
probably
repeat
as
a
part
of
election,
so
probably
we
could
introduce
additional
roles,
for
example,
shadow
officers
whatever
to
have
more
people
unbothered
to
the
governance,
for
example,
like
kubernetes
community.
Does
things
like
that
in
the
key
back.
A
But
as
candidates
and
the
registration
application,
so
yeah,
but
one
of
the
things
to
discover
which
is
aligned
with
this
topic,
that
there
was
no
solution,
we
are
ready
to
handle
this
time
of
focus
mode.
Media
is
selected
because
the
Jenkins
project
needed
a
voting
system
and
obviously
this
number
is
beyond
number
of
active
contributors,
numbers
and
I
guess
any
community
in
the
world.
But
since
we
were
inclusive,
we
needed
to
make
it
possible.
A
That's
why
we
did
a
two
stage:
voting
system,
this
additional
books,
registration
application,
which
allowed
us
to
collect
contacts
of
people
who
applied
for
voting,
and
it
also
allowed
us
to
work
example.
This
submitting
data
like
emails
to
another
voting
system,
because
it
was
not
what
we
want
to
do
that,
so
this
system
actually
allowed
us
to
solve
these
concerns.
A
So
we
didn't
really
have
any
kind
of
problems
during
these
elections.
Everything
was
handled
well
already,
the
most
positive.
So
even
if
there
were
some
delays
in
the
process,
because
of
today,
we
put
it
down,
ok
and
we
got
a
negative
part
yeah.
There
is
a
lot
of
well,
it's
nothing.
If
part,
it's
something
to
improve.
So,
let's
go
through
it.
Yeah
huge
number
of
accounts.
C
D
A
It's
not
correct
and
also
our
definition
of
contributory
is
not
committer
it's
rather.
If
you
write
a
blog
post,
you
are
contributory
if
you
just
provide
a
moving
ship
with
feedback,
you
also
contribute
to
the
project
and
that's
why
we
decided
to
go
with
Jenny
laughs
account
because
historically
it
collects
all
contributors
to
be
having
the
project.
A
And
also
it's
a
problem
of
basically
who
you
would
take
from
github
because
yeah
you
can
go
to
it
again.
Chris
I
see
you
can
see
that
there
are
2,000
people
here,
but
again
it
doesn't
map
to
everything,
because
we
have
a
lot
of
contributors
really
a
member
of
Jenks,
a
github
organization,
because
they
didn't
mean
that
to
submit
a
pull
request,
we
don't
have
to
be
a
member.
You
would
need
to
be
a
member
if
you
remain
thinking
something,
but
that's
it
same.
We
have
other
organizations
like
central
Jenkins.
A
A
So
how
we
do
name
in
the
next
year,
it's
an
open
question,
but
yeah
I
think
it's
fine
and
yeah.
If
you
want
to
participate
in
the
next
elections,
and
we,
if
you
don't-
have
to
change
its
hold
up
account,
probably
you
want
to
create
one
and
they,
even
if
it
wasn't
inclusive
enough
actually
in
our
region.
One
knows
once
by
Tracy,
there
was
explicit
command
that
if
somebody
wanted
spit
injections
but
didn't
have
a
github
account,
there
was
a
way
to
erase
in
bed
so
we're
given.
A
A
People
register
not
lonely
boat
accounts,
but
also
team
accounts,
because
in
some
cases
we
have
teams
registered
as
account
one
of
the
cases
which
caused
some
internal
discussions
is
Jake
security
team
because
it's
registered
as
a
github
account
or
process
reasons,
and
somebody
applied
subscribed
for
voting
on
half
of
a
second,
because
we
were
sending
hyperlinks
trimmings
while
the
dis
account
didn't
fold.
But
yeah,
this
is
the
point.
Unfortunately,
right
now
our
contract
doesn't
allow
filtering
date.
There
is
no
proof
of
it.
A
So
in
the
future
we
need
to
do
something
about
it
right
now,
I
guess
it's
just
Monell
filtering
of
voters,
because
what
we
do
we
apply.
Mono
filtering
after
this
stage
piece
both
registration
buses.
If
it's
about
400,
it's
possible
to
do
it,
mana
being
let's
say
one
hour
this
place
for
check,
accounts
and
ensure
that
everybody
is
contributing
group.
So
next
time,
yeah.
C
A
So
what
Inc
was
delete
was
no
communication
about
GUI
until
after
the
official
vote
opening
date
yeah,
it's
a
valid
comment,
something
to
take
in
account
in
our
process,
and
hopefully
they
will
be
no
delays
next
time.
This
time
it
was
quite
unexpected
and
there
were
some
comments
about,
for
example,
sniffling
edging
survivors,
which
it
should
be
a
limited
bandwidth
of
the
jinx
infrastructure
team,
which
was
instrumental
done
in
this
world,
and
the
elections
are
important,
but
all
losing
contribution
has
been
able
to
deliver
their
changes.
It's
more
important.
A
C
So
yeah
I
I
wrestled
with
them
and
I
think
it's
valid
I
think
it's
also
valid
I'm,
not
terribly
concerned
about
it
personally,
because
I
think
that
there
were
there
it's
a
natural
outcome
that
we
will
be
more
transparent
as
we
track
things
we
do
to
this.
This
was
a
learning
phase
we
had
to
do
things
rapidly
and
and
the
speed
at
which
they
had
to
be
done
meant
that
we
didn't
use
our
typical,
create
an
epic
and
track
it
with
with
our
usual
project
techniques,.
C
A
A
C
A
So
we
basically
the
process
statement
here.
That's
why
we
need
complex
election
system
like
seeds
or
whatever,
so
that
we
don't
need
to
rerun
the
votes
of
that
such
things
happening.
We
don't
want
to
have
second
rounds
or
whatever
so,
and
one
of
the
problems
we
had,
if
that
we
needed
really
different,
the
company
accusation
and
our
state
needs.
So
if
you
go
to
the
blog,
if
you
go
to
the
this
election
results,
okay,.
C
A
Okay,
whether
they
will
need
to
put
speed
before
us-
and
we
can
do
this
yeah
so
yeah.
This
is
a
valid
concern
and
actually
so
what
happened?
There
were
limitations
submitted
by
distributors
and
some
people
nominated
people
blow.
That
was
the
purpose,
but
they
think
of
it
before
announcing
the
candidates.
There
was
no
communication
in
these
potential
candidates
and
we
ended
up
doing
some
situations
away.
We
basically
had
people
who
didn't
want
to
be
elected
to
particular
roles,
but
who
were
announced
in
the
developer
manifest
and
we'll
post
a
lot
of
confusion.
C
Right
and
the
question
that's
asked
there:
I,
don't
know
what
the
what
the
question.
The
answer
is,
it's
certainly
more
than
four
days
and
they
don't
know
how
big
it
is.
But
it's
a
good
good
thing.
We
agree.
Yes,
we
we
we
would
like
to
now.
There
was
a
subtlety
there
that
Tracy,
for
instance,
chose
to
step
back
so
that
she
could
run
the
election
process
and
I'm
hoping
that
the
next
time
we
won't
have
that
heavy
a
burden
on
running
the
election
process
that
it
would
be
pot.
E
A
A
Keeneland,
let's
go
next
voting
Camille's
your
dissent
to
everyone
after
adding
new
voters,
yeah
basically
just
caused
a
lot
of
confusion,
but
it
wasn't
in
didn't
causing
issues,
because,
basically
the
votes
have
been
already
counted,
so
yeah.
Nothing
will
change
there.
Both
of
those
Trishna
means
we
are
stuck
and
sponge
filters.
A
C
A
Although
does
the
command
on
top
already
has
a
complete
working
voting
feature
so
something
like
two
years
ago,
olivier
implemented
voting
system.
It's
not
six,
it's
another
engine,
but
with
all
the
conditions
required
packaging,
his
project.
We
didn't
use
it
this
time
because
it
wasn't
finished
and
again
taking
all
the
infrastructure
fires.
There
was
no
capacity
to
finish
it.
That's
why
we
used
six
for
the
next
year.
We
can
use
it
at
six
or
we
can
use
our.
A
In
this
case,
maybe
we
could
just
do
voter
voter
registration
inside
the
account
up
again.
It
would
address
this
command
I'm
sure
we
still
need
to
send
a
notification,
sometimes
right
something
you
can
just
post
in
Twitter,
okay
voting
handled
by
same
nominees.
We,
which
seems
to
be
a
conflict
of
interest
from
working
yeah.
A
That's
correct,
though,
in
this
case
we
basically
needed
to
make
the
elections
happen,
yeah,
basically
what
it
meant
that
active
contributors
who
wanted
to
change
the
things
they
go,
driving
the
elections
and
not
surprisingly,
the
same
people
very
interested
to
be
in
the
jinkies
board
to
change
the
changes.
So
that's
why
we
put
today's
conflict,
be
a
particularly
it
was
resolved
by
Tracy,
because
Tracy
stepped
down.
So
there
was
no
conflict
on
the
board
elections.
A
Olivier
was
helping
this
infrastructure
and
he
was
running
for
infrastructure
officer
position,
but
basically
it
was
uncontested,
so
I
would,
after
a
marquis
stepped
down,
so
I
would
say
that
it
wasn't
critical
there
as
well
so
yeah.
The
point
is
valid
in
ideal
world.
We
need
different
people
running
current
elections,
dissipating
them
I'm,
not
sure
how
it's
going
to
happen
to
intercept
officer,
because
whomever
is
in
infrastructure,
it's
a
real
action
but
yeah.
What's
the
same,
that
was
doing
because
Donna,
it
doesn't
really
look
quite
the
world
from
infrastructure
who
knows
for
both.
C
A
Yes,
it
was
a
problem
because
it's
quite
unbalanced
it
one
year,
one
election,
another
year,
three
elections,
it's
still
better
than
I,
haven't
not
for
my
board
members
in
the
case
of
deadlock,
but
we
will
need
to
think
how
approach-
maybe
somebody
steps
down
and
by
the
next
year-
and
we
Whittle
this
question
automatically.
Let's
see
so.
C
A
Out
so
yeah
we
did
that
it
was
discussed
in
the
development.
Manatees
was
discussed
in
the
governor's
meeting,
so
the
change
was
perfectly
in
digit
yep.
It
would
have
been
great
if
we
didn't
need
to
do
so,
but
otherwise
we
would
have
had
one
board
member
who
is
not
actually
active
and
the
in
the
moment
so
I
think
we'll
just
pick
your
present
situation
now.
C
A
C
D
C
A
Which
we
already
agreed
on
latest
steps
is
to
actually
build
the
governance
model.
Don't
you
have
special
interest
groups?
We
already
have
officers,
for
example,
in
my
statement
and
say
that
I
want
to
have
technical
student
coming
here,
I
work
in
straight
section
and
to
define
a
roadmap
for
the
project,
but
all
of
that
are
the
next
steps
and
it's
a
good
time
to
provide
feedback.
I
mean
good.
So
it's
not
something
went
wrong.
A
A
So
something
like
that,
if
you
have
any
feedback
about
the
governance,
etcetera,
just
drop
it
to
the
developer
menu
list.
Currently,
even
if
it's
called
developer
mailing
list,
actually
it's
for
developers
and
for
the
governor's
purposes,
yeah
recommend
here.
So
please
don't
hesitate
to
drop
your
proposals
or
whatever
so
that
we
can
discuss
them
and
yeah
I
have
some
proposals
in
drafts.
So
we
won't
be
the
only
one
proposing
our
changes
and
it's
open
to
everyone.
So
just
do
that.
C
A
Sundance
and
greed,
basically,
you
can
ask
to
be
unsubscribe
from
your
aunt
or
whatever
I'm,
not
sure
how
this
magic
happens,
because
we
uploaded
to
the
entire
list.
So
what
is
our
risk
is
when
we
upload
the
list.
For
example,
in
one
year
we
had
people
want
sub
straight
back
to
the
least
but
yeah.
This
is
something
infrastructure
team
to
figure
out.
There's.
C
No
real
way
of
collecting
the
the
number
seven
hundred
came
from
somewhere.
It
came
from
San
grid,
you
know
and
I
assume.
That
means
there's
a
list
of
those
seven
hundred
email
addresses,
but
the
next
time
we
generate
unless
we
take
specific
steps,
those
700
requests
to
unsubscribe
will
be
ignored
and
we'll
send
to
them
again.
Yeah.
A
A
It's
a
matter
of
what
exactly
delete
to
be
means,
because
you
can
just
believe
background,
but
keep
whatever
hosting
instance
in
Jetta
in
a
week,
yeah
yeah,
that's
the
problem,
because
you
can
adjust
delete
account.
You
have
to
retain
the
data
or
somebody
may
want
the
data
to
be
deleted,
and
then
it
goes
to
different
space.
C
Right
right,
this
is
this
is
the
same
class
of
problem
that
even
the
unit
the
Linux
vendors
have
when
I
delete
the
account
I
created
I,
have
an
option
to
delete
all
my
data
and
that
may
harvest
my
entire
disk
drive
and
wipe
me
out
completely
and
yeah.
There's
that's
a
whole
problem.
I,
don't
think
we
want
to
solve
yeah.
A
A
So
we
have
a
bunch
of
next
steps,
but
one
main
step
is
to
edit
your
feedback
here
because,
for
example,
I
abstained
from
putting
feedback
for
now,
because
there
was
directly
involved
in
the
process
and
I
wanted
to
see
it
back
from
others
first.
So
if
you
still
want
to
provide
some
feedback
and
it's
not
in
the
waste,
then
we
can
edit.
D
A
C
A
A
D
That
sounds
good,
so
I
took
so
specifically
for
me:
I
took
Monday
to
wednesday
off
this
week,
so
I
don't
really
have
any
specific
new
updates.
The
only
the
new
update
the
only
new
update
I
have
is
that
the
the
venue
that
I
was
working
on
before
I
left
for
for
holiday
I.
It
was
a
really
good
prospect,
but
then
I
was
told
that
they
gave
that
slot
away
to
somebody
else.
I
was.
D
For
the
contributor
summit,
as
well
as
for
the
to
Jenkins
trainings,
the
Jenkins
pipeline
training
and
the
Jenkins
act,
so
I
did
it
so,
while
I
was
out
on
holiday,
I
did
asked
Ellie
to
look
into
our
second
option
and
a
third
possible
option.
Cuz
I
need
to
review
what
was
sent
to
me
and
then
I
will.
Let
you
guys
know.
A
Yeah,
so
in
the
worst
case
for
the
contributor
summit
and
this
for
trainings
as
well,
we
can
look
for
alternate.
Venues
works,
Jenkins,
inject
sex,
trainings,
okay,
basically
jenkees
meetups,
so
we
can
find
a
sponsor
for
them
contributing
summit,
but
the
different
way.
All
of
that
can
happen
after
Christmas,
because
now
it's
just
a
bit
season.
Yeah.
D
A
Thank
you
very
much
for
working
on
it,
but
it's
also
many
increased
rate
about
the
agenda
so
yeah.
Basically,
this
trait
is
about
what
we
actually
do
so
yeah.
Now
we
have
information
about
our
separate
stance
and
we
are
looking
for
information
about
we
gonna
to
participate.
So
Olivia
has
created
one
document
for
hold
on
southern
thinking,
and
this
is
and
we
need
to
understand
who's
going
to
be
there
and
yourself
for
them.
C
A
E
C
A
So
I
can't
find
the
link,
but
it's
somewhere
on
the
photon
website
and
there
is
a
list
of
talks
available
there.
Okay-
and
this
is
here-
the
opossum
is
so
big,
so
without
application
we
can't
really
do
anything.
So
yeah
here
is
the
list
of
talks,
but
yeah.
You
can
see
that
this
Jenkins
sex
talk
from
cows,
I
believe
a
progressive
delivery
and
I.
