Description
Jenkins documentation special interest group meeting Oct 25, 2019. Topics include revamp of contribution guidelines, plugins site improvements, Hacktoberfest progress
A
Today,
we've
got
a
items,
then
a
report
on
two
different
docks
initiatives
that
have
happened
to
contributor
guidelines
revamp
and
the
plug
in
site
integration
with
github.
We
will
then
talk
briefly
about
Oktoberfest
and
go
over
the
latest
data
on
contributions.
What
the
data
is
telling
us
and
what
we
should
learn
from
it.
What
actions
we
need
to
take
the
end
will
have
captured
action
items
and
recorded
the
results
in
terms
of
previous
action
items.
I
still
have
the
open
poll
request
to
provide
project
ideas
into
the
Jenkins
at
I/o
site
in
the
interim.
A
Oleg
has
done
a
great
job
of
creating
two
epics
that
we're
using
to
track
track.
Those
contribute
those
website
improvements
as
the
contributor
guidelines
revamp
and
the
plugins
site
integration
with
github
a
dog's
doc.
Cig
summary
is
due
to
the
community
at
large,
as
part
of
our
government's
I'll.
Send
that
today,
along
with
the
meeting
notes
and
I've
added
an
additional
action,
I
would
be
sure
that
we
capture
our
pull
request
summary
at
the
end
of
October,
so
that
we
can
show
what
hacked
over
fest
is
done.
A
The
contributor
guidelines
revamp
is
actually
being
worked
by
several
different
people.
It's
exciting
to
watch.
What
you'll
see
here
is
that
Sachi
Mukherjee,
or
of
Asha
beer
and
Chris
carpenter,
and
have
been
working
edition
end
Yulin,
Bastille
Ababa
have
been
working
on
different
improvements
to
the
participate
page
as
part
of
Oktoberfest
thanks
very
much
to
them.
That's
a
wonderful,
wonderful
addition:
the
new
page
is
looking
much
better
and
now
is
including
is
pending.
Inclusion
of
additional
information
on
testing
the
plugins
site.
Integration
with
github
is
going
even
better
than
that.
A
There
are
lots
of
steps
of
positive
improvement
there
as
many
different
sites.
Many
different
plug-in
pages
are
now
adding
their
documentation
into
the
plugins
site
automatically
through
the
readme
it's
an
eat.
This
is
an
easy
activity
for
those
who
are
wanting
to
contribute
through
October
fest
and
will
continue.
We
now
have
additional
work,
proceeding
in
using
these
same
kinds
of
techniques
in
other
places,
special
thanks
to
to
the
dear
special
thanks
to
the
team
at
how
awkward.
A
Special
thanks
to
cloudBees
we've
had
a
great
contribution
of
this
of
a
site
that
provides
automated
conversion,
prototype
conversion
from
github
to
are
from
wiki
format,
to
github,
asciidoc
or
github
style
markdown,
and
we're
very
grateful
for
that
contribution.
It's
making
things
much
easier
in
terms
of
that
transformation.
A
Now,
in
terms
of
hacked
over
test
results,
we've
had
49
poll
requests
closed
that
were
submitted
during
this
year's
Oktoberfest.
There
are
six
yet
open
still
on
Jenkins
IO,
so
significant
contributions
to
act
over
fest
on
Jenkins
at
I/o.
There
have
been
many
more
poll
requests
to
other
portions
of
Jenkins.
This
is
only
looking
at
Jenkins.
That
I
owe
thanks
very
much
to
those
who've
contributed
across
the
entirety
of
Jenkins
infra,
which
is
again
no
plugins,
not
Jenkins
core,
just
Jenkins
tooling,
and
the
Jenkins
I/o
website.
A
A
So
we
need
to
bring
that
under
control
by
bringing
some
more
reviewers
online
we'd
encourage
you
to
help
us
please
come
along
and
help
help
us
do
a
better
job
of
reviewing
and
merging
pull
requests
to
Jenkins
that
I,
oh,
so
that
we
can
keep
the
website
both
current
and
growing.
In
its
usefulness
for
users
in
the
last
month,
we
see
that
there
have
been
80
merged,
pull
requests,
that's
a
significant
increase
from
the
preceding
month
and
the
prior
month
we
had
roughly
60.
So
thanks
very
much
for
that
increase.
A
We
still
have
12
open,
pull
requests,
or
we
had
12
pull
requests
that
were
proposed
during
the
month
that
have
not
yet
been
merged.
So
there's
still
work
to
do
there.
In
total.
We
have
22
open,
pull
requests
and,
in
the
last
approximately
one
month,
we've
closed
well
over
a
hundred
pull
requests
thanks
very
much
to
everyone,
who's
contributing
to
Jenkins
that
IO
deeply
appreciated
we'll
meet
again
in
two
weeks.
