From YouTube: Jenkins UX SIG Meeting - 27 May 2020
Description
A short UX SIG Meeting took place on the 27th of May, which provided an update about the UI/UX Hackfest, which was progressing during the SIG meeting (week of 25th to 29th of May).
Tim Jacomb gave a great demo of a new Jenkins Dark Theme. Wadeck Follonier gave an equally good demo of the updated UX for Script Security approval granting.
A
All
right
so
welcome
everybody
to
installment
number
13,
the
Jenkins
UX
cig
online
Meetup.
Today's
session
is
going
to
be
frankly
really
brief.
We
don't
have
a
whole
lot
to
share
as
I've
been
away
an
offline
a
bit
the
past
couple
of
weeks,
so
there
isn't
a
whole
lot
new,
but
we
do
have
a
couple
of
cool
items.
First
officer
anybody
I
think
Phillipe.
If
you,
if
you
wouldn't
treat
yourself
and
if
not
that's
okay
too
a
welcome
either
way,
I,
don't
think
we
have
any
other
introductions
this
time
around.
A
Typically,
we
would
actually
start
off
with
sort
of
design
deck
and
take
a
look
at
some
either
some
concepts
or
some
some
actual
working
prototypes
from
Felix.
Let
me
just
check
the
common
here:
Thank
You
Jeremy,
and
we
don't
have
one
of
these
one
of
those
this
time
around.
So
I
wanted
to
highlight
and
oh
like,
of
course
you
could
speak
better
about
this
event
and
I
could
but
I
want
to
highlight
the
UI
UX,
a
quest
that
is
currently
happening.
Do
you
want
to
say
anything
about
it.
B
B
You
see
my
screen:
yes,
okay,
so
yeah.
As
you
know,
we
are
doing
this
us
hug
fest.
So
it's
a
one
week,
long
event,
where
we
invite
all
contributors
to
work
on
user
interface,
documentation
not
to
spread
the
word
about
Jenkins
and
this
event
has
started
on
Monday
and
so
far
we
have
got
26
contributors
to
different
topics
and
Counting.
So
yep,
it's
still
an
opportunity
to
contribute
and
during
this
harvest,
actually
delivered
quite
a
number
of
stories
already.
B
So
if
you
want
to
see
the
full
list
of
stories,
you
can
just
go
to
this
repository.
You
are
europe's
harvest
2020
and
actually
we
can
just
stop
by
filter.
You
can
just
search
for
reports,
so
we
asked
all
the
users
to
submit
their
issues
and
right
now,
I'm
working
on
a
blog
post
which
summarized
them,
which
would
summarize
that,
for
example,
if
you
want
to
talk
about
user
interface,
we
take
enhancements
and
maybe
some
bug's
wait
if
we
want
and
yeah
so.
Okay
I
didn't
work
like
that.
B
So
you
can
find
a
number
of
stories
which
have
been
contributed
and
which
have
been
officially
recorded,
because
we
already
noticed
that
not
everybody
reports
their
contributions,
so
lately
we
wanna
do
have
to
do
some
github
queries
and
other
things
major
highlights.
So,
first
of
all,
we
have
a
first
prototype
of
the
dark
theme
working
thanks
to
team,
and
we
had
a
great
presentation
session
today
has
been
published
a
few
minutes
ago,
so
you
can
take
a
look,
but
no
it's
not
only
about
it.
B
B
Also,
there
were
some
minor
contributions
here
and
there,
for
example,
will
be
improved
layout
for
Auto
gradient
plugin.
We
have
some
improvements
and
footer
of
Jenkins
and
also
other
minor
things
here
and
there
again
this
list
is
not
complete
because
not
everything
was
submitted
so
far.
They
still
be
a
good,
quite
a
number
of
contributions
in
terms
of
pull
requests
the
same.
There
are
some
bug
fixes.
There
is
a
lot
of
documentation
changes,
so
yeah
is
going
pretty
well,
I
mean
the
triggers
and
yeah.
Obviously
we
would
have
liked
to
have
more
contributions.
B
B
This
one
is
actually
on
so
regarding
the
rest
about
the
hackathon.
We
do
good
progress
about
documentation,
including
plugin,
the
communication
and
user
documentation
in
creation
stories.
So
it's
running
quite
well.
We
also
have
other
project
IDs
listed
for
the
UI,
so
we
just
show
you
the
phone
list,
so
you
can't
feel
updates.
C
B
So
for
system
read
here's
some
changes,
some
demos,
it's
goin,
well,
UI
themes.
You
focused
around
the
dark
theme.
We
haven't
really
touched
the
other
stories
yet,
but
maybe
a
very
big
contributors
working
on
that
or
pipeline
visualization.
That
is
a
contributor
who
is
working
on.
He
improved
browsing
performance
for
logs
and
pipeline.
B
The
pull
request
hasn't
been
submitted
yet
octagon
shows
management.
Team
has
submitted
a
number
of
patches.
Some
of
them
have
been
approved,
so
hopefully
we'll
enter
them
in
the
weekend
and
for
developer
tools.
There
were
some
contributions
by
Dennis
de
guitarra
in
order
to
improve
IntelliJ
IDEA
plugin
for
scepter.
So
there
are
some
activities
in
all
these
stories,
but
yeah
still
anything.
Everything
requires
more
contributions.
B
All
right,
thank
you.
A
lot
for
sharing
okay.
So
if
you're
interested
to
know
more
about
the
sessions
again
is
referred
to
this
side,
and
there
is
also
presentations
where
we
accumulate
our
materials,
for
example,
on
Monday
Willie
did
a
great
session
about
beautifying,
plugging
yours
with
JavaScript
components
and
sessions
about
me
ingredient
the
dogs
about
system
admissions.
We
referred
a
section
about
your
themes
and
doctrine
which
will
be
published,
maybe
in
a
half
an
hour.
So
you
can.
You
will
be
able
to
find
all
the
information
here.
A
C
C
That's
been
around
for
a
few
years,
but
has
recently
broken
as
part
of
the
new
exome
provements,
and
some
pets
are
didn't
like
so
taking
them,
but
in
general
that
was
the
inspirations
and
so
hasn't
been
updated
in
the
last
two
it
about
years.
So
a
few
things
that
broken
recently,
but
this
is
what
it's
looking
like
currently
so
it's
got
to.
The
main
screen
is
working
and
we've
got
the
Hoos
pop
out
menus
of
working.
C
All
these
manage
Dinkins,
I
hadn't,
seen
that
so
I
usually
use
it
on
my
bigger
monitor
and
it
doesn't
scroll
so
hadn't
seen
that
searchings
working
not
quite
sure
on
the
color.
But
the
contrast
wasn't
working
very
well
with
the
other
color
before
haven't
checked
the
screen,
but
it
seems
to
go
cases
and
the
side
panel
is
working
okay,
so
selected
and
the
active
one
and
then
a
hover
color
when
it's
going
over
it.
C
B
C
C
C
D
C
D
B
C
So
I
haven't
I,
haven't
just
built
it,
how
the
traditional
things
have
been
built
by
modifying
this
modifying
Pinkins,
CSS
and
and
finding
all
the
selectors
that
need
changing
and
adding
important
all
over
the
place.
So
it's
actually
modifying
the
just
changed.
You
can
score
to
use
CSS
variables,
which
means
that
you
can
override
the
variables
at
runtime.
So
if
I
I'll
show
you
the
theme
it's
so
this
is
the
theme
here.
C
It's
about
50,
it's
about
it's
one
file
with
about
50
lines
on
it
and
all
it
does-
is
override
variables
and
mostly
just
its
got
a
few
colors
defined
at
the
top,
and
these
colors
are
just
used
throughout
throughout
the
file
and
in
some
cases
it's
the.
So
these
are
the
primary
friends
colors
defined
in
Jenkins,
I
haven't
overridden
them,
but
I've
changed
certain
text
to
use
the
brand
colors,
but.
C
C
It
just
looked
more
prominent
and
dark
mode,
so
that's
fixed,
but
that's
basically
it
so
there's
a
reco
for
this
and
that
you
can
see
I
organization.
It's
called
dark
thing
and
there's
some
instructions
there
on
how
to
use
it.
I
think
so
just
need
to
run
so
for
now.
So
only
it's
currently
working
on
a
docker
image
which
comes
out
of
the
box
with
it.
But
for
right
now
you
need
to
just
run
this
with
a
core
PR
tester
and
that
will
bring
it
up
with
the
latest
and
commit
frumpy
artist
ax.
C
B
Well,
so
it's
incompatible
in
a
way
that
it
just
doesn't
work.
So
once
team
finishes
watching
Jenkins
code,
I
will
update
and
if
you
just
click
a
button
to
get
the
instance
running
and
the
instance
will
include
system
rate
permissions
that
will
include
manage
permissions.
It
will
include
a
bunch
of
plugins,
something
like
one
half.
C
D
C
A
E
I
can
show
my
screen.
I
have
something
running
them
so
think
Timmy
showing
the
screen.
Yes
perfect.
So
essentially
it
just
every
one
of
the
user
experience
for
that
screen.
So
the
in
process
script
approval.
It's
when
you
are
doing
some
movie
script,
but
you
are
not
an
admin,
and
so
you
need
to
have
approval
from
an
admin
to
use
your
script.
So
the
current
version
of
the
page
is
something
like
this.
E
So
it's
a
bit
or
a
burden
in
terms
of
experience
in
terms
of
visual
experience,
but
also
in
term
of
feature,
because
you
cannot
once
you
have
approved
the
script,
revoke
the
permission
you
propose
to
that
script.
So
the
proposal
is
to
have
something
like
this
with
multiple
tabs,
so
that
was
a
very
good
feedback
I
receive
from
Joe,
but
the
separation
between
between
tabs.
E
Instead
of
just
the
this
feature,
and
so
you
have
with
the
table,
you
can
still
see
the
content
of
the
script
by
expanding
a
bit
of
stuff
and
you
can
see
more
information
about
where
it's
coming
from
in
terms
of
context.
So
that
was
already
the
case
in
the
previous
version.
You
can
see
the
context
here,
for
example,
but
what
I'm
adding
here
is
especially
for
the
approved
script.
E
In
case
you
already
approved
something
you
are
keeping
the
information,
so
all
the
meta
that
are
saved
in
the
disc,
and
so
you
know
what
you
approved
in
the
past
and
you
can
evaluate
if
it's
still
relevant
or
not
for
the
current
status.
So
it
means
that,
for
my
instance,
it
is
a
proven
are
just
completely
useless
because
nobody
is
using
them
at
the
moment.
There
is
no
metadata,
it
means
there
is
no
usage.
If
you
are
using
them,
you
can
see
new
date.
E
So
with
that
new
feature,
you
can
reduce
as
much
as
possible
the
list
of
things
you
have
approved
normally
up
to
the
number
of
pipeline.
You
have
and
not
like
in
red
times
the
number
of
pipeline
anything
cities,
the
four
remaining
tab.
There
are
still
the
same
as
the
current
version
I
just
transposed
over
the
script
and
the
server
CSS,
it's
something
that
will
be
done
either
in
the
future
or
in
that
PR.
E
If
I
have
some
time,
it's
more
about
the
things
are
working,
it's
just
not
as
perfect
as
it
could
be,
because
in
that
app
or
script,
you
can
revoke
individually
to
different
things
with
that
button.
While
currently
you
need
to
revoke
everything
or
he
would
buy
ash
only
and
with
the
ash,
you
have
no
information,
so
you
are
just
humbly
pick
the
things
you
want
to
be
booked.
So
that's
a
bit
of
what
I
wanted
to
do.
E
Modern
do
PR
is
ready
for
different
or
if
you
approve
are
anything
site,
is
it's
still
a
work
in
progress
innocence,
because
there
is
a
lot
of
things
to
do,
especially
about
the
wording.
A
receive
multiple
comment
on
the
different
centers
and
things
latest
so
still
in
progress,
and
if
you
have
some
feedback,
some
requests
to
feature
you
and
things
like
this-
do
not
hesitate.
A
Really
are
some
dramatic
improvements,
the
usability
on
that
night,
you
I
so
really
cool.
Thank
you
again
for
sharing
that
all
right.
That
brings
us
to
the
end
of
our
list
for
today.
A
pretty
short
meeting
this
time
around
did
have
a
reminder,
therefore,
for
those
of
you
who
have
not
previously
joined
on
the
state
call.
We
keep
everything
documented
from
these
meetings
in
our
agenda
document,
of
course,
and
then
oh
I
just
realized
I'm,
not
sharing,
well
no
big
deal
but
see
we
keep
everything
documented
in
terms
of
meeting
notes
here.
A
Excuse
me
in
the
agenda
document
and
we
also
have
the
UX
cig
resources
so
that
whenever
we
have
design
decks
or
other
things
like
that,
they're
all
linked
here,
if
you
want
to
refer
back
to
them
in
the
future,
we
have
our
meeting
notes
here
as
well
and
I.
Think
that
brings
us
to
the
end
of
our
call
for
today.
Unless
anybody
else
has
something
to
share.
