industry.

60
Napier
po
companies
doing
business
in
the
Commonwealth,
with
more
than
1500
employers
and
nearly
30
000
worksite
employees
by
Way
by
way
of
background
POS
provide
comprehensive
human
resource
solutions
to
small
and
medium-sized
businesses
that
allow
their
clients
to
focus
on
their
core
competencies
to
maintain
and
grow
their
business.
A
typical
po
client
has
is
a
small
business
with
an
average
of
5
to
20
employees.

The
passage
of
House
Bill
506
brought
Kentucky
in
line
with
41
other
states
that
passed
some
form
of
comprehensive
legislation.
Addressing
specific
legis
excuse

registration
and
regulation

vast
majority
of
those
are
closely
tracked
with
the
napio
model,
which
has
been
passed
this,
which
this
bill
was
based
on
House
Bill
506
requires
all
Po's
to
register
and
provide
financial
data
with
the
Kentucky
department
of
workers
claims
by
January
10
2023.
The
statutorily
stated
180
days
after
the
bill
was
enacted
on
July
14
2022.

as
the
January
10th
implementation
date
nears,
the
peo
industry
and
the
Kentucky
educational
labor
cabinet
are
not
yet
aligned
on
how
to
smoothly
make
the
transition
to
the
new
law
likely
leading
to
costly
disruptions
for
small
businesses
and
their
employees
to
allow
for
more
industry,
stakeholder
engagement
and
dialogue
with
the
department
of
workers
claims
and
the
unemployment
insurance
Regulators.
The
PO
industry
is
requesting
the
legislature
delay
the
peo
registration
deadline
until
July
15th
of
2024
2024.
Excuse

This
action
needs
to
be
taken
before
the
statutory
registration
deadline
of
January
10th.

allow
regulators
and
po
stakeholders
to
have
the
necessary
time
to
continue
working
together
on
regulations
to
ensure
a
smooth
transitions
for
all
peos
Kentucky
small
businesses
and
their
employees.
The
PO
industry
appreciates
the
ongoing
dialogue
with
Regulators
at
the
educational
labor
cabinet,
who
have
continued
to
meet
with
peo
industry.
