works

we

asked

In
january
we
asked

proposals

libraries
to
why
we
should
help
hold
their
co,
the
conference
at
their
location,
and
then
we
take
all
of
those
proposals
make
sure
you
know
the
conference
committee
will
vet
them
and
then
once
we've
got
usually
we
end
up
with
three
or
four
possible
locations.

send
that
out
to
the
membership
in
february
marchese
time
and
the
members
of
quahog
vote
and
that's
how
we
decided
to
come
here
a
year
ago
and
then
the
pandemic
hit,

so
we
just
maintained
this
location
for
this
year.

ended
up
here
this
year.
So
that's
reason

Basically,

happens
with
the
vice
president

is

gets
elected
and

are
the
president

cataloging
sig
is
usually
just
a
round
table
people
bring
questions,
comments,
puzzles
and
there's
usually
someone

guidance.

all
tend

go
away
and
see
what
we
can
find

report
back
and
we
always
have
a
pretty
fun
time.

always
great,
seeing
each

since

touches

metadata.

them

is

last
development

auto
parallel

they're
getting
very
close
to
completing
their
work,
we'll
be
meeting

first
friday

october

they're
going

give
us
an
update

where
they

They
have
to.

go

qa
and
all
of

there

be

lot

they're

to

move
forward

happy

educational

guides
for

christopher's
every
other
thursday

fall
under
the
purview

the
education
committee
and
we

a
little
bit

shindig

bring
attention
to
the
day
and
the
cause.

did
have
quite
a
bit
of
interest
expressed
there.

people
that
were
non-members
joined
because
it
was
actually
cheaper
by
design
for
you
to
become
a
non-member
joining
than
it
was
to
attend
the
conference
as
a
non-member,
and
so
we
did
have
a
few
people
joined
that
way.

the

Registration
form
that
you

interested
in
pursuing
membership,
I'm
going

go

now
that
the
conference
is

gather
up
all

who's

have

average

70

we
we're

little
bit
shy
this

being
what
they

happy

memberships
are
calendar

again,
that's
by

Everybody's
membership
is
will
expire
on
december
31st
and
information
about
renewing
memberships

go
out

existing
members

early

new
members

be
able
to
join
for
the
next
calendar
year.

With
regards
to
finances,
you
see
information
there
for
the
two
most
recent
bank
statements.
We
are
now
experiencing
the
biggest
spend
of
money
we
have
during
the
year
expenditures
related
to
the
conference,
and
if
you
take
a
look
at
august's
amount,
you
see
the
twelve
hundred
dollars
and
you
think
wow.
That's
a
lot
of
money
spent
on
the
conference.

That's
actually
only
two
hundred
dollars
of
the
conference,
the
other
thousand
you
see
reflected
there
was
actually
the
one
thousand
dollars
that
was
sent
to
auto
parallel
technologies
in
support
of
the
development
that
the
membership
voted
upon.
They're
billing
us
twice
once
at
the
signing
of
the
contract,
they
get
the
other
thousand
dollars
when
the
work
is
completed.

So
for
those
of
you
that
were
wondering
why
it's
twelve
hundred
dollars,
it's
actually
a
little
bit
of
conference,
a
lot
of
the
development
that
was
supported
and
next
month's
activity,
that
is
to
say,
the
activity
that
will
take
place
in
september,
will
be
primarily
conference.
Related
a
few
finance
committee
matters
to
report
on
all
of
a
sudden
in
july.
No
I
say
I
take
that
back
august
2nd.

I
noticed
that
the
money
we
were
getting
seems
to
be
a
little
bit
different,
and
so
I
did
some
looking
at
paypal
and
paypal
has
changed
its
payment
structure
around
they
used
to
take
out-
and
I
believe
I
say
it
in
the
report
here-
it
used
to
be
2.9,
plus
30
cents
on
every
transaction.
That's
one
of
the
reasons
for
those
curious.

Why
I
ask
if
you
want
to
pay
multiple
transactions
at
the
same
time,
because
I
save
us
30
cents,
every
time
we're
doing
that
30
cents
over
the
four
years
I've
been
treasurer
and
financial
manager
has
really
started
to
add
up.
The
new
formula
is:

it's

plus

cents,
yes,
and
so
for
a
transaction
that
would
normally
generate

would
see

that

big
deal
about

cents,

cents
adds
up
everybody
here,
that's
had
anything
to
do
with.
Acquisitions
knows
how
much
18
cents
can
add
up,
and
so
the
finance
committee
will
begin
an
exploration
of
other
possibilities.

Those
are
incredibly
expensive
and
even
the
bank
we've
been
working
through
since
I
became
treasurer
pnc
bank
and
it's
relatively
less
expensive.
Merchant
rates
for
credit
card
processing
is
still
incredibly
expensive,
so
we
will
be
exploring
other
avenues
for
this
type
of
electronic
payment.
Maybe
we'll
look
at
things
like
square,
although
we
really
don't
do
a
lot
of
point-of-sale
stuff,
we
do
a
lot
of
stuff
through
the
web,
but
the
finance
committee
will
be
looking
at
those
sorts
of
things.
With
regards
to
the
paypal
fee.

So,
unfortunately,
any
attempts
we
had
to
maybe
rain
that
new
feed
down
just
a
little
bit
were
not
really
successful.

few
other
things
to
move
on
from
the
doom
and
gloom
of
paypal,
we
did
get
our
quarterly
amazon
smile,
distribution,
72.55
and
we
are
actually
on
budget
for
getting
300
through
amazon
smile.
We've
had
really
good
years
with
amazon.

Small
and
then
the
budget
for
the
following
years
reflected
that
and
then
the
bottom
fell
out,
and
so
this
year's
300
seems
to
be
the
best
that
we've
done
in
terms
of
trying
to
forecast
what
will
be
coming
in
through
that
it's
a
great
program,
but
administratively
it's
very
problematic
because
number
one
we
don't
know
how
many
people
have
koha
us
signed
up
as
their
charity.
It's
not
automatic.
You
actually
have
to
log
into
your
amazon
account
and
pick
your
amazon
smile
charity.

have
no
idea
how
many
people
or
organizations
that
is,
and
since
companies
and
businesses
can
select
charities
as
well,
it
could
be
that
there
were
libraries
koha
us
libraries
that
were
using
amkoha
us
and
then
somebody
said
oh
well.
We
need
to
change
this
to
something
else.
That
could
explain
the
drop
that
we've
seen
we'll,
never
know
the
actual
reason
just
like
we
don't
know
how
much
is
coming
in
at
any
given
time.

been
informed
of
everything
related
to
the
conference.

income
and
expenditures
will

late
in

I
don't
think
it

be

the

report
because
there's
always

settling

the
fact,
but
there
should
be
a
final
report

be

the
finance
committee
report

and,
lastly,

plea

make
every

lifting

the

members

feedback
on
certain
things.
