Description

This session focused on MarcEdit

Chat logs:
00:23:24 George: I can see it
00:41:59 Myka Kennedy Stephens: Could you demonstrate how to edit a record in MarcEdit and pass those edits to Koha?
00:48:42 Myka Kennedy Stephens: Did you need different Z39.50 settings to be able to write changes to Koha? The Z39.50 settings we received for our catalog appear to be read-only settings and I have not been able to create/update records. I have only been able to search and download records.
00:52:00 Myka Kennedy Stephens: I have a ticket open, but I think folks have been busy with library closures
00:53:13 Myka Kennedy Stephens: yes!!
00:53:34 Todd: Is this being recorded?
00:54:56 Myka Kennedy Stephens: Thank link in the note is snazzy. Is there a tutorial somewhere with instructions on how to do that?
00:57:01 Heather Hernandez: That *is* so snazzy!!
00:57:14 George: /cgi-bin/koha/reports/guided_reports.pl?reports=1&phase=Export&format=csv&report_id=
00:57:26 Myka Kennedy Stephens: That is really nifty idea and a real time-saver. Thank you for sharing!
01:02:41 Barbara Johnson: Can you share the MarcEdit tasks you set up?
01:06:42 yuyan: I created macro in Koha adavance editor, however, when I login back to Koha next day, my macro is disappeared. anyone know what I missed?
01:08:02 Heather Hernandez: I think this is a known problem, yuyan--there is a bug in development and testing for this.
01:08:02 Jennifer Howard: Terry Reese's webinar from the other week was on tasks, fyi
01:08:50 Heather Hernandez: We are a special collections/museum library with lots of rare books, serials, etc., & I think there's lots of ways to use these processes for these materials!
01:09:27 Jason Robb: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=17268
01:12:11 Myka Kennedy Stephens: Is the MarcEdit Task Manager smart enough to check for a particular 590 note and only add it if it isn’t present? (Presuming the human operator is capable enough to tell it to do that!)
01:16:43 Myka Kennedy Stephens: thank you! very helpful.
01:19:08 Todd: It’s been as great mtg thanks! Gotta run!
01:20:47 Leanne: Thank you learned a lot
