Description
[SIG ContribEx] Weekly Marketing Meeting for 20211008
A
Good
morning,
good
evening
and
happy
whatever
day
of
the
week,
it
is
for
you
it's
friday,
where
I
am
so
happy
friday
october,
8th
for
the
contributor
comms
upstream
marketing
team
meeting,
thanks
for
joining
and
what's
on
people's
agenda
today,
any
well
we're.
I
guess
a
week
out
from
the
the
conference
and
see
some
people
talking
about
traveling.
A
lot
of
us
are
still
staying
home
and
I
hope
everyone's
taking
care
of
themselves
and
finding
a
way
to
feel
connected
from.
A
A
C
A
I'll
never
forget
that
little
room
off
of
oz
con
when
kubernetes
was
announced
and
there's
maybe
a
few
few
hundreds
of
people
hanging
out
being
like
this
sounds
like
something.
But
everyone
was
talking
about
mesosphere
and
then
and
the
two
layers
of
abstraction
so
many
years
it
feels
like
a
century
ago,
but
it
was
just
not
even
that
long
ago,
at
all
and
kubernetes
is
just
by
far
massive
and
dominant
and
doing
great,
so
yeah
enjoy
the
time.
Traveling
caslin
and
we're
super
excited
for
you,
congrats
congrats
again.
A
Well,
great
jumping
into
articles
in
progress,
anyone
have
things
they're
working
on
that
they
want
to
talk
through
with
us.
C
So
the
multi-cluster
spotlight-
I
I
tried
really
hard
castling
to
to
get
it
before
kubecon,
but
it's
just
too
much
on
the
plate.
So
I'll
have
to
start
on
that
post
kubecon.
So
that's
something
I'll
work
on
after
kubecon.
A
A
Dev,
your
yeah
audio
is
really
choppy.
A
A
D
Thank
you,
so
the
hack
md
file
was
shared
to
the
comms
people
and
we
have
got
reviews
from
them
and
we
are
working
on
those
reviews.
Some
changes
are
needed
and,
as
discussed
in
the
previous
meeting
of
the
contributor
blogs,
we
are
working
on
it.
A
A
How
do
we
deal
with
basically
negative
commentary,
and
I
guess
the
question
for
me
would
be
who
is
giving
the
common
and
what
is
it
negative
toward
the
negative
toward
something
that
you're,
like
the
writing,
is
the
biggest
worth
of
topic.
A
A
Okay,
seeing
in
the
comments
a
few
contributors
said
that
there
are
problems
with
aipac
timing,
health
issues.
A
Sorry
to
hear
that,
and
but
you
know
one
thing,
I
always
keep
in
mind
a
lot
of
my
work's
been
community
management,
which
is,
if
somebody
gives
you
negative
feedback
on
something,
that's
so
much
easier
to
convert
into
positive
than
to
than
apathy
like
people
that
are
just
disinterested
and
disconnected
it's.
It's
tough
to
get
them
involved,
but
feedback,
negative
or
positive
is
a
sign
of
engagement
and
care,
and
we
will
we.
There
are
definitely
practices.
A
A
A
I
just
want
to
give
some
kudos
to
this
format
of
like
having
a
doc
and
annotating,
whether
it's
done
or
in
progress
like
this
is
a
very
efficient
way
to
get
a
lot
of
information
down
so
casl,
and
I
don't
know
how
we
can
internalize
that
as
a
team.
But
there's
there's
some
there's
a
there
there
as
they
say,
there's
a
good
idea
here.
We
want
to
repeat
and
use
as
an
example,
so
pretty
cool.
B
Deb
says
he
has
updated
department
says
he
has
updated
the
tags
in
the
tweet
doc
and
we
only
have
two
tweets
left
to
go
out
very
nice.
B
If
you
need
any
help,
getting
those
out
feel
free
to
ping
at
me,
or
I
know
chris
has
been
sending
all
these
out,
which
has
been
fantastic
and
he's
been
doing
amazing
at
that.
B
C
B
So
there's
a
link
there
to
the
doc
if
matt
you
weren't
here
last
time,
if
you
want
to
check
it
out
folks.
B
An
amazing
job
filling
this
out.
Thank
you,
so
so
much
if
you've
contributed
to
this
effort.
It's
so
awesome
to
be
able
to
look
in
here
and
see
all
the
ones
that
are
done.
I
haven't
finished
my
own,
so
I'm
a
terrible
role
model,
but
you
all
have
been
doing
awesome.
I've
looked
over
several
of
them,
not
all
of
them
yet
but
they're.
B
If
so,
one
thing
that
I
wish
that
I
had
asked
everyone
to
do
earlier,
which
I
would
like
to
request
now
is,
if
you
have
put
something
into
the
kubecon
tweet
stock,
if
you've
created
a
tweet
for
kubecon,
if
you
would
put
in
your
twitter
handle
in
the
owner
block
as
well
as
your
name
or
instead
of
your
name,
I
don't
care
as
long
as
I
get
your
twitter
handle
I'd
love
to
do
a
thank
you
tweet
at
the
end
of
cubecon,
for
all
the
work
that
you
all
put
into
this
and
call
out
that
we
have
awesome
contributors
who
are
creating
these
tweets
to
go
out
to
kate's
contributors.
A
B
Actually,
specifically
requested
that
we
not
do
that,
because
we
usually
put
the
the
link
to
the
schedule
into.
B
C
F
B
Yes,
so
a
lot
of
the
tweets
that
were
needed
have
already
been
completed.
There
are
a
few
that
haven't,
but
most
of
them
have
been
claimed,
there's
one
spot
where
you
could
hop
in
and
do
a
tweet
for
the
closing
of
kubecon
if
you'd
like
but
anyway,
so,
let's
see,
could
I
share
my
screen
something
you.
B
B
So
here's
what
the
document
looks
like
it
is
a
spreadsheet.
This
is
where
the
tweets
for
kubecon
are.
You
can
see
how
many
of
them
are
wonderfully
filled
out
and
none
of
my
own
there's
also
a
tab
in
this
sheet
with
an
example
from
kubecon
eu
of
how
I
planned
that
one
out
and
there's
a
page
with
instructions
of
what
you'll
need
to
do.
B
Basically
in
five
steps,
you
need
to
go
to
this
page,
the
one
where
we're
creating
all
the
tweets
for
kubecon
north
america
put
yourself
in
as
an
owner
of
a
tweet
and
find
the
block
on
the
keep
going
north
america
schedule
if
you're
going
to
do
one
of
these.
B
B
But
if
you
are
doing
a
block
from
the
schedule,
you
would
go
and
check
out
that
schedule
block
on
the
actual
kubecon
schedule
and
see
what
talks
are
happening
during
that
time,
so
that
you
can
incorporate
them
into
the
tweet
like
this
one
has.
I
should
not
click
it
like
that,
where
this
first
block
is
going
to
include
cloud
provider
extraction
whatever
that
means
container
d
sig
network
and
a
great
talk
titled.
B
Why
is
everyone
using
kubernetes
anyway,
and
so
each
of
these
kind
of
follow
that
format
of
here's
what's
happening
in
the
maintainer
track
during
this
time
block
some
just
some
notes
about.
What's
going
to
be
happening,
and
then
so
that's
the
write,
the
tweet
step,
which
is
step
three
step.
Four,
is
check
the
tweet
link,
as
we
were
just
saying,
it
doesn't
work
to
just
check
the
length
to
make
sure
that
it's
within
280
characters,
because
twitter
shortens
the
links.
B
One
is
there's
an
owner's
local
time
column
that
I
put
in
here
just
in
case
anyone
needed
it,
because
when
I'm
doing
this,
I
have
a
lot
of
trouble
converting
time
zones,
if
I'm
not
in
the
time
zone
of
kubecon.
But
since
I
already
kind
of
planned
out
the
tweet
times
you
no
one
has
had
to
worry
about
that.
It
looks
like
and
it
looks
like
no
one
has
had
trouble
with
that.
B
So
no
one
had
to
use
that
and
then
scheduled
is
for
me
once
all
of
these
are
in
here
and
I
go
through
and
I
add
them
all
to
the
scheduled
tweets
I'll
change
this
to.
Yes,
as
I
do
each
one
to
make
sure
that
I
know
which
ones
have
been
scheduled
and
which
ones
haven't
as
I
go
through.
So
that's
for
me
and
yeah.
That's
that's
about
all.
I
have
to
say
about
that,
so,
if
you
want
to
get
involved,
there
is
one
like
this.
B
One
is
open
here
at
the
end
and
claim
it.
If
you
would
love.
If
you
would
like
to
say,
kubecon
is
done
now.
I
hope
you
had
a
great
time
something
along
those
lines.
I
think
I
have
an
example
in
this
one
of
whatever
I
said
at
the
end
be
sure
to
check
out
the
next
cube
con
in
north
america
or
in
eu
eu's
gonna,
be
the
next
one
in
may,
hopefully,
in
valencia,
it'll
probably
be
hybrid
as
well.
B
So
you
could
do
something
along
these
lines,
if
you'd
like
to
sign
up
for
that
one
and
there's
also
a
keynotes
one
open.
If
you
would
like
to
check
out
the
schedule
for
the
keynotes
that
day
see
what's
going
on
there
and
type
up
something
of
here's,
what's
going
to
be
in
the
keynotes,
make
sure
you
check
it
out
something
along
those
lines
and
I'll
be
reviewing
all
these
over
the
weekend
as
well,
to
make
sure
they're
all
good
to
go.
B
We'll
do
one
thing
that
I
think
is
interesting
as
someone
who's
going
to
be
there
on
site,
just
just
a
fun
fact.
While
we're
on
this
is,
I
don't
think
I'll
be
able
to
watch
any
of
the
virtual
sessions
since
I'll
be
in
person,
because
I
will
not
trust
the
conference
internet
and
there's
not
going
to
be
like
a
room
streaming
them
or
anything.
B
Yeah
also,
there
was
a
question
that
came
in
in
the
chat.
Can
you
mention
again
about
putting
twitter
twitter
twitter
handles
twitter
twitter
handles
in
the
sheet?
If
you
would
put
in
like
you've
got
your
name
here
in
the
owner's
section.
If
you
would
update
it,
I
guess
I'll
update
mine.
B
I
don't
think
I
can
put
in
a
new
line
which
is
unfortunate,
so
I'll
just
do
caslin
fields.
Yeah
just
make
sure
that
your
twitter
handle
is
in
there.
You
can
replace
your
name
if
you
want
to
because
it
doesn't
really
matter.
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
I
can
credit
you
on
twitter
and
say
thank
you
for
putting
in
some
tweets
something
like
that.
A
Thank
you
thanks.
Zoom.
Thank
you,
zoom,
okay,
cool
great,
any
other
items
of
interest
to
talk
to
you
right
away.
F
B
For
the
maintainer
track,
I
sent
out
one
tweet
this
week
because
paris
tweeted
something
about
maintainers
being
at
cubecon.
So
I
retweeted
that
and
put
in
a
comment
about
we're
going
to
be
having
coverage
of
the
maintainer
track
all
throughout
kubecon
and
then
that
sweater.
B
B
B
I'll
try
to
figure
that
out
we
might
as
well.
I
guess
mainly
I'm
highlighting
maintainer
events
like
there's
gonna,
be
a
lunch
for
like
the
maintainers
and
all
the
sig
folks
are
gonna,
try
to
be
the
a
sig
meet
and
greet
that's
what
it's
called,
which
I
haven't
even
included
on
here
I'll.
Try
to
add
that
as
like
an
extra
one.
B
So
if
somebody
wants
to
to
grab
that
one,
just
let
me
know
since
I
haven't
put
it
on
here
yet
it'll
update
that
for
you
but
yeah,
that's
a
good
call.
We
should
do
that.
A
Sounds
good,
I'm
just
trying
to
work
through
an
open
pr
that
has
some
rebase
issues.
So
that's
where
my
attention
went
for
a
little
bit
what
a
mess!
I
am
trying
to
move
forward
on
that
pr,
that
updates
contributor
comms,
how
we
work
just
document
where
we're
at
and
really
get
in
there.
Also
the
available
shadows
like
make
it
really
clear
that
you
can
formally
be
a
shadow
for
a
couple,
different
positions
because
yeah
it's
good
to
be
crystal
clear.
A
Where
we're
at
and
just
document
all
we've
learned
in
the
last
year
of
running
this
thing:
it's
it's
different
than
when
we
started,
and
I
think
it's
better
for
it.
If
what
is
written
down
is
reality
as
well,
so
I'm
just
gonna
try
to
get
that
pushed
out
over
the
next
week.
A
B
Notice
about
defining
the
shadowing
roles
within
contributor,
comms.
A
Yeah
I
mean
I
think,
to
get
more
people
in
going
beyond
our
meeting
sounds
good
too.
So,
okay
yeah,
why
not.
A
A
I
definitely
can't
converse
while
doing
it,
that's
for
sure,
so
anyone
else
have
topics
or
tweets.
They
want
to
tag
in
on.
A
All
right
folks,
I'm
gonna
end
the
recording
or
so
out
of
curiosity,
what
are
some
of
the
main
tasks
of
a
shadow
in
contributor
cons
and
no
worries
on
the
the
flaky
networks.
But
is
there
a
shadow
program
open
now,
and
can
we
re
recreate
what
the
said
about
it?
Yeah?
How
about
this,
like?
I
have
a,
I
think,
the
pull
request
getting
merged
will
give
an
actual
artifact
to
look
at,
and
we,
let's
put
it
on
the
calendar,
to
review
that
next
week
we
can
talk
through
it
in
detail
and
kind
of
really
pay.
