Description
[SIG ContribEx] Weekly Meeting for 20230301
A
Hello
and
welcome
everyone
to
the
Wednesday
March
1st
edition
of
the
Sig
contributor
experience
meeting
bi-weekly
meeting
as
a
reminder.
As
always,
we
are
operating
under
a
code
of
conduct
which
basically
says
to
be
respectful
of
your
fellow
speakers
and
attendees
and
generally
be
excellent
to
each
other.
A
I
have
shared
the
link
to
the
notes
in
the
chat
so
make
sure
you
open
that
up
and
let's
get
into
business
first
order
of
business
kind
of
before
the
orders
of
business.
If
anyone
new
is
on-
and
you
would
like
to
introduce
yourself
now
would
be
the
time
you
are
welcome
to
unmute
and
say
hello
totally,
optional.
You're
also
welcome
to
Ping
in
the
chat
for
anyone
new.
A
A
A
A
C
Yep,
so
now
that
we've
sort
of
like
decommissioned
the
community
meeting,
we
do
pro
like
we've
removed
it
from
governance.
C
C
E
C
That
one
is
easy
because
it's
ingested,
you
literally.
E
E
C
A
Sounds
good
good
to
hear
progress
on
that
as
well.
We
talked
about
that
in
the
past.
There's
one
other
item
in
events
which
is
open,
infra,
Summit,
yeah,.
F
Wonderful
yeah
I
should
have
put
my
name
next
to
it.
I
was
like
typing
on
my
phone
and
including
all
the
important
information
and
totally
left
that
off
anywho,
so
the
open
info
Summit
or
is
coming
up
in
June.
So
it's
after
kubecon,
oh,
like
two-ish
months,
and
we
have
space
available
to
host
other
open
source
project
teams
at
the
ptg,
which
is
the
project
team,
Gathering,
so
openstack
will
be
meeting.
F
We
actually
have
stopped
participating
as
well
and
like
other
open
source
communities.
So
if
kubernetes
warrant
to
participate
as
well,
you're,
obviously
more
than
welcome
to
and
it'll
be
really
awesome
to
continue
our
shared
knowledge
exchange
between
our
communities
and
and
whatnot,
so
I
dropped
information
there
about
like
when
the
Summit
is,
is
the
first
link,
the
second
one
I
think
is
registration
and
then
the
third
one
would
be
if
kubernetes
wants
to
participate
as
a
community.
In
whatever
capacity,
however,
many
people
come
they're
that
it's
a
very
simple.
F
It's
like.
What's
the
name
of
your
project?
Who
should
we
contact
for
like
organizing
this
and
I?
Think
that's
really
about
it
and
that
sign
up
form
is
open
until
April,
2nd,
so
there's
a
fair
amount
of
time
to
debate
if
people
are
interested
or
not
but
yeah,
it's
like
technical
discussions,
collaboration
with
other
open
source
communities
that
sort
of
thing.
F
So
it's
it's
very
similar
to
your
contributor's
summit
in
terms
of
like
the
more
the
Sig
specific
discussions
and
meetups
that
happen
and
I
guess
a
little
bit
of
unconference
sort
of
thing.
It's
more
discussion
topics
and
like
planning
and
stuff
like
that,
so
yeah
just
figured
I
would
throw
that
out.
There
it'd
be
really
cool
if
you
all
can
participate
and
join
us
in
Vancouver
in
June.
F
G
G
On
the
other
hand,
I
doubt
our
existing,
like
say,
contributor,
Summit
team
wants
to
add
another
event
to
their
calendar.
Yeah.
F
I
figured
right
now
like
wasn't
the
best
time
because
you're
focusing
on
like
the
contributor
Summit,
but
as
as
it
takes
place
like
two
months
after
maybe
there
would
be
bandwidth
for
that
I
don't
know.
I
was
also
going
to
bring
it
up
on
the
steering
committee,
public
meeting,
I
guess
at
the
beginning
of
March.
So
next
week,
I
think
is
the
next
one,
but
yeah
I
can
also
send
it
out
to
the
mailing
list
as
well.
F
G
F
A
F
Oh
nice,
man,
party,
yeah
it'd,
be
super
awesome
to
have
you
all
there
and
as
as
many
other
people,
I'm
sure
that
there
are
people
in
the
like
open,
infra
and
openstack
communities
that
have
kubernetes
interests.
That
might
be
like
interested
in
getting
involved
in
kubernetes
and
just
not
know
how
so
it
people
such
as
yourselves
involved
in
sync
contributor
experience,
would
probably
be
good
resources
if
it
works
out.
So.
A
F
So
it's
like
it's
very
like
flexible,
so
we
have
like
dedicated
space
for
all
of
the
the
teams.
I
think
it's
one
big
room
with
like
a
bunch
of
tables,
so
you
can
kind
of
go
amongst
other
projects
if
you're
interested
in
interacting
with
them.
Otherwise
you
can
sit
at
your
own
table
and
we
have
a
like
IRC
bot
setup
that
I
can
100
help
with
for
those
that
don't
like
IRC
or
are
unfamiliar
for
like
saying
the
topics
you're
talking
about
and
it's
like.
F
So
it's
like
some
of
the
projects,
we'll
talk
about
specific
features
that
they're
trying
to
implement
and
having
issues
with
other
projects
will
try
to
get
feedback
from
people
that
are
like
using
a
particular
feature
or
service
or
whatever
yeah.
It's
a
quite
the
breadth
of
discussion.
F
F
Yeah
and
open
source
communities,
yeah
yep.
C
F
Yeah,
it's
a
bunch
of
unconference,
basically
but
yeah.
It
leads
to
really
good.
Like
hallway
track
discussions
and
I
know.
F
The
kubernetes
steering
committee
has
participated
in
the
virtual
project
team
Gatherings
that
we've
had
in
like
kind
of
community
problem,
solving
common
issues
and
Global,
open
source
communities
about
communication
and
elections
and
all
kinds
of
things
with
Open
Stacks
technical
committee
since
openstack
and
kubernetes
are
like
what,
in
the
top
five
biggest
open
source
projects
in
the
world,
so
yeah
there's
a
lot
of
scale
problems
from
a
community
standpoint
that
we've
talked
about
that
have
led
to
really
interesting
conversations
and
stuff.
So
yeah.
F
F
G
F
F
All
right
cool-
well,
that
was
all
I
had,
if
you
have
any
questions,
feel
free
to
ping
me
in
sync
contribbeck's
Channel
and
on
RC
on
Diablo
Rojo,
so
yeah.
I
A
Do
cool?
Thank
you.
Thank
you
all
right
and
that's
all
we
have
for
events
unless
anyone
wants
to
add
in
anything,
but
with
that
we're
going
to
move
on
ahead
to
mentoring,
we
have
updates
in
the
mentoring
space.
A
G
G
I
don't
know
how
many
slots
we
get,
but
that
would
include
some
proposals
made
by
some
of
the
six
for
for
gsoc
projects.
So
the
that's
our
one
bit
of
news
right
now:
mentoring
from.
E
G
Wait
actually
one
one
more
thing
and
and
I
guess
I
need
to
follow
up
on
this
is
a
season
of
docs
was
also
just
announced,
although
apparently
it's
going
to
be
very
small
and
so
on
the
cncf
level
we're
trying
to
put
together
maybe
a
couple
of
proposals,
so
I
should
reach
out
to
sigdox.
G
A
D
So
we're
working
with
Bob
and
cncf,
which
is
actually
GP
on
this
one,
for
getting
an
official
zapier
account
set
up.
It
should
be
by
later
today
awesome.
Thank
you.
I
was
going
to
ask
you
about
it,
so
it'll
be
under
the
contributor
at
kubernetes.io
login,
so
it's
like
official,
so
we
can
get
the
stuff
that's
happening
in
Nigel's
account
into
an
official
thing
and
add
additional
automation,
four
comms
and
whatever
else.
A
All
right
we're
continuing
to
have
new
people
join
in
and
get
involved,
we're
doing
some
really
exciting
work
with
blogs.
We've
got
a
couple
in
progress
and
we're
I
think
we
mentioned
last
time
that
we're
working
on
Reviving
using
GitHub
tracking
boards
for
tracking
our
activities.
A
G
C
B
D
E
A
E
G
G
A
C
It's
the
only
real
thing
would
be.
You
know,
like
I,
believe,
there's
a
reference
to
community
meeting
in
the
contributor
course
also
on
the
kids.dev,
and
maybe
in
a
few
other
places
like
in
the
cheat
sheet
that
might
need
to
be
scrubbed.
E
A
E
C
A
All
righty,
so
beyond
that
moderation
and
media.
Anyone
here
who
works
on
those
types
of
areas
who
wants
to
share
any
updates.
A
Yeah
doing
pretty
well.
G
One
thing
about
the
contributor
site:
we're
in
the
process:
the
contributor
site
is
based
on
at
this
point,
an
EOL
version
of
doxy
and
or
Hugo.
G
I
plus
several
other
things
that
are
outdated,
there's
a
whole
bunch
of
issues
that
are
open
about
upgrading
it
we've
run
into
some
technical
problems
with
upgrading
it
and
that
whole
business
could
use
somebody
who's
good
with
Hugo
sites
and
has
a
little
bit
more
time.
G
C
The
the
biggest
problem
is
Hugo
has
undergone
some
very
drastic
changes
and
I
I,
don't
even
mind,
saying
something:
it's
made
things
incredibly
hard
to
keep
up
with
that,
coupled
with
some
other
changes
in
doxy
has
just
like
for
me
personally,
my
personal
site,
I'm
ditching
Hugo,
just
because
it's
not
worth
it's,
it's
not
worth
the
like
the
pain
of
having
to
like
keep
up
to
date
with
it.
G
Mean
okay,
so
I
mean
it's.
It's
sounding
like
we
need
to
actually
have
some
kind
of
Head
to
Head
about
the
contributor
site,
because
just
me
you
and
Tim,
sporadically
maintaining.
It
is
not
going
to
continue
working.
C
And
yeah,
even
if
we
get
rid
of
Google
Linux
like
I,
don't
like
it's
nice
to
have,
but
both
Hugo
and
how
things
render
and
doxy
have
changed
a
bit
and
we
had
to
Fork
some
of
the
like.
We
aren't
using
the
default
Hugo
or
not
the
default
doxy.
We
we
did
have
to
do
some
changes
in
the
layouts,
and
so
those
all
have
to
Angel
individually
be
updated
to
work
with
the
new
iteration
of
doxy.
H
G
Give
an
example:
you
can
see
PR,
that's
currently
open
from
Tim,
where
he
tried
updating,
Hugo
and
all
the
menus
broke.
D
C
C
D
H
That
stuff
I
think
the
grind
is
fine.
Like
that's
fine
I
can
click
buttons
and
push
things.
You
know,
I
think
the
the
main
thing
is
just
figuring
out
what
the
problem
is
and
then,
like
figuring
out
what
the
process
is
to
bring
it
in
line
and
then
the
rest
is
just
kind
of
okay.
You
know
same
time
whatever.
A
E
I
B
C
G
E
H
I'll
still,
you
know,
take
a
little
stab
at
it.
Stab
is
a
bit
aggressive,
I'll,
take
a
poke
at
it
and
see
what
I
find
and
then
and
then
go
from
there.
Gentles.
D
A
A
D
A
D
C
So
this
time
around
there's
been
a
lot
more
automation
to
like
Auto,
generate
like
lists
of
sub-projects,
and
things
like
that.
Ideally,
we
want
to
have
a
draft
PR
by
I.
Think
it's
like
March
24th,
so
it
might
be
worth
like
just
basically
like
a
lot
of
that
is
a
small
for
for
us.
It's
going
to
be
like
a
small
update
on
all
our
various
sub-projects
and
then
some
like
looking
at
our
various
like
owner's
files
and
things
like
that.
C
It
might
be
worth
either
like
you
know,
starting
out
a
separate
dock
for
us
just
to
drop
like
little
tidbits
in,
like
you
know
you
Chris
Castle.
You
could
probably
like
give
a
a
couple
sentence.
Blurb
about
you,
know,
contributor,
comms
and
some
of
the
big
achievements
that
happened
last
year
and
things
like
that
and
and
sort
of
go
from
there,
but
sounds.
A
A
Alrighty
sounds
good.
We
will
keep
an
eye
on
that
and
we'll,
let
you
all
know
if
we
have
any
questions
about
annual
report
stuff,
I'm
sure
that
we
will
talk
about
it
many
times
over.
The
next
few
meetings,
at
least
in
contributor
comments
all
right,
any
other
Open
Mic
discussion
items
before
we
stop
the
recording.
