From YouTube: Kubernetes Monthly Steering Committee Meeting 20190807
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Okay,
let's
get
started
welcome
to
today's
meeting
everyone,
it's
August,
7,
2019
and
you're
at
the
public
steering
meeting.
Alright,
we
have
Cora
we're
gonna
start
by
going
through
the
milestones
and
having
things
to
August.
A
If
you
haven't
already
seen
the
announcement
or
aren't
aware
we're,
gonna
do
public
meetings
every
first
Wednesday
of
the
month
and
we'll
do
a
stealing
private
meeting.
It's
closed,
it's
private
but
recorded
and
posted
every
third
Wednesday
of
the
month.
So
so
that's
the
meeting
cadence.
So
you
get
everyone
caught
up
and
I'm
gonna
go
ahead
and
share
my
screen
so
that
we
can
go
through
the
July
and
August
milestone
together.
D
A
I'm
gonna
move
it
to
August.
We
should
be
taking
that
okay
ecosystem
project
governance,
Brandon
Phillips-
are
you
on
the
call
I
think
that
this
was
already
taken
care
of
I,
think
Nikita.
Take
it
took
care
of
this,
for
us
feel
like
this
efficiently
addresses
the
Ducks
above
Erin.
What
was
this
was
from
our
last
meeting
right.
B
So
I
did
I,
didn't
get
it
I,
don't
know
if
this
was
discussed
at
the
last
meeting
or
not
I
went
through
and
looked
I
might
I
made.
My
comment
before
I
gave
an
update
to
the
community
at
the
community
meeting
and
notice
that
I
think
we
had
done
everything,
but
we,
as
a
group
haven't
talked
about
whether
we
agree.
You
can
close
this.
B
B
A
E
F
A
F
F
I
mean
it
might
all
be
closed.
That's
what
that
was
that
what
that
issue
is
in
reference
to
yeah.
It
looks
like
it's
closed
down:
okay,
yep
and
then
the
other
issue
is
in
the
community
repo
which
I
can
mirror
here,
but
it
does
live
in
the
community
repo
that
has
more
to
do
with
the
operations
of
the
current
election.
Okay,.
C
A
C
There
was
an
open
issue
and
it
was
in
danger
of
getting
closed
by
the
bots.
So
him
look
sinclair,
looks
like
closed
it
in
favor
of
the
umbrella
issue,
and
the
umbrella
issue
is
still
there.
So
we
can
either
leave
the
umbrella
issue
or
reopen
the
more
specific
issue.
Okay
and
close
the
umbrella
issue.
Okay,.
A
E
A
A
So
let
me
create
a
new
issue
for
steering
to
elect,
select
election
officers.
C
A
A
C
B
Don't
have
the
numbers
directly
in
front
of
me
so
take
this
with
the
handling
a
grain
of
salt
that
it
is,
but
if
we
were
to
use
exactly
the
same
criteria
that
we
use
last
year,
which
was
50
contributions
according
to
Deb
stats,
that
would
get
us
eight
hundred
and
something
total
voters
in
the
pool.
So
this
would
be
contributions
across
all
of
our
repos.
Since
the
last
time
I
had
Deb
stats
refreshed,
which
was
a
couple
weeks
ago.
This
number
of
total
voters
for
last
year's
election
was
in
the
700
ish
range.
B
The
number
of
people
who
actually
voted
was
in
the
300
ish
range,
both
in
last
year's
election
in
the
election
prior.
So
it
kind
of
works
out.
One
annoyance
I
have
with
deficits.
That
I
discovered.
Is
that
because
it's
based
off
of
github
archive,
which
is
based
off
of
publicly
exposed
github
events,
it
misses
people
who
click
the
approve
button
and
cuts
UI.
B
So
anybody
it
was
like
a
crew
for
request,
changes
that
doesn't
actually
get
that's
not
visible
to
deaf
stocks,
but
you
might
assume
that's
sort
of
like
by
proxy
it'll
pick
up
issue
comments.
Full
requests
comments,
comments
on
individual
lines
of
code,
so
people
who
are
doing
those
things
or
creating
issues
you're
creating
pull
requests
are
getting
counted.
The
numbers
seem
about
right.
E
B
A
A
A
You
give
us
like
a
two
liner:
oh
four,
okay
gotcha.
We
need
a
date.
Yeah
yeah,
100%,
I'm,
gonna,
just
move
this
to
the
August
milestone
and
we
can
shout
about
it
in
more
detail
next
time.
Okay,
thank
you
all
right
process
for
a
travel
support
for
kubernetes
contributors.
This
was
opened
by
James,
but
I
know
Paris
has
been
very
involved.
E
Aside,
I
just
pushed
a
a
new
revision
a
little
bit
ago.
I
think
the
thing
person
I
agreed
on
is
trying
to
have
a
private
github
repo,
but
have
people
publicly
be
able
to
submit
to
it
won't
work
so
I,
just
in
my
latest
draft
I
cut
that
to
just
like
up
form
and
then
we
just
need
to
figure
out
what
group
would
be
selecting.
This
is
going
to
be
a
new
committee
or
a
mailing
list
or
whatever,
but
the
draft
is
isn't
github
there.
Okay,.
A
I'm,
just
gonna
ask
some
nice
questions
because
I
was
on
on
vacation
for
a
while
the
summer.
So
first
question:
this
is
for
the
kubernetes
contributor
side,
correct.
H
Let
me
handle
that,
so
this
is
similar
to
you
know
it's
not
just
for
the
contributors.
I
meet
people
who
travel
will
be
able
to
attend
the
regular
summit
as
well.
Does
that
answer
your
question?
This
is
aimed
towards
contributors
who
we
want
in
there
talking
to
us
and
talking
to
everybody
in
the
ecosystem,
essentially,
but
those
who
may
not
qualify.
For
you
know
the
existing
in
program
run
by
CN,
CF,
okay,.
H
F
Answer
to
that
or
they
need
some
time
to
kind
of
talk
with
so
I
feel
like
from
our
end.
We
would
need
to
talk
about
like
funding
and
stuff
like
right
now.
If
we
were
to
do
something
for
San,
Diego
and
I'm,
not
sure
we're
prepared
to
do
that
and
I
mean
funding
as
and
like
tell
me,
people
would
be
fun
how
much
money
does
this
allocate
like
I
feel
like
this
would
probably
be
good
for
20
20.
F
E
I
think
if
we
just
select
like
who's
going
to
be
responsible,
I
think
that
would
be
next
steps,
but
in
the
meantime,
I
think
we
should
just
like
get
more
involved
with
the
cnc.
Yet
because
my
worry
is
the
CNC
f,
someone
that
does
the
travel
letters
for
visas
and
stuff
so
like
if
you
wanted
to
delete,
get
better
than
what
was
last
time,
you
could
at
least
like
get
the
word
out
for
that
hey.
If
you're
working
in
a
cig,
you
know
here's
at
least
how
you
can
go
cuz.
E
I
think
last
time,
though
issue
this
was
brought
up,
is
a
lot
of
people
didn't
know
like
who
to
talk
to
as
far
as
there's
a
person,
I
think
should
go
like
who
do
I
talk
to
you
so
I
think
if
we
were
to
at
least
say
hey,
you
know,
these
are
a
set
of
people
that
are
going
to
be
working
on.
The
travel
program
will
eventually
get
to
an
automated
state
assessment
service.
Can.
G
For
this
time
around,
can
we
actually
like
start
collecting
hard
data
of
like
I
mean
you
know,
just
some
sort
of
like
hey
if
your
contributor
and
you
want
to
go
to
cube
con,
but
you
can't
fill
out
this
form.
Let
us
know
right
because
then
we'll
at
least
get
an
idea
of
the
scope
of
the
problem
and
and
then
maybe
as
part
of
that
being
like
what
would
a
reasonable
stripe
stipend
be
for
you
to
be
able
to
travel.
I
F
G
I
think
one
of
the
things
we'll
understand
it's
like.
If
you
know,
if
we
say
hey,
if
there
was,
you
know
a
trip
there,
would
you
take
advantage
of
it
at
least
like
it
gives
us
some
indication
of
the
scale?
It's
it's
clearly,
not
as
good
as
doing
it,
but
I
feel
like
right
now.
I
mean
if
I
ask
like
Paris
and
George.
How
many
people
do
you
think
we'd
have
to
pay
for
and
how
much
would
it
cost
I
imagine
the
answer
is
I.
J
E
A
E
On
where
you
live
right,
if
you're
in
the
US
I,
don't
think
it'll
be
a
problem,
but
if
you're
in
China
it
might
be
a
hard
swing,
Yeah
right
by
the
time
we
check
it
in
things
like
that,
but
I
think
we
should
try
to
at
least
commit
the
policy
as
fast
as
we
can
picking
the
people.
And
then
we
need
to
talk
to
CN
CF
and
find
out
like
what
the
turnaround
times
and
stuff
are
like.
Is
there
a
deadline
for
visa
letters
that
they
have
not
sure
you
know
that
kind
of
thing.
A
So
the
plan
of
action
here
is
for
steering
anybody
interested
to
review.
The
draft
leave
comments
so
that
we
can
quickly
kind
of
put
this
into
motion
and,
at
the
same
time,
talk
the
scenes
yet
about
what
the
turnaround
times
for
visas
look
like
and
kind
of
explore
what
things
we
need
to
do
to
get
to
the
work
get
the
word
out
about
this
opportunity.
H
B
H
A
H
H
F
F
Right
now
and
I
know
we
haven't
in
the
hasn't
gone
to
the
governing
board,
yet
either
so
don't
know
like
if
it's,
if
it's
even
in
stone
kind
of
thing
so
I
mean
I've,
had
it
I,
pat
it
in
a
lot
of
travel
fund
to
to
that
to
what
I
had
suggested
from
contributor
summit
budget,
so
I
mean
if
that
passes,
then
we
know
right
there
that
we
do
have
some
to
work
with.
So
that's
the
good
news
bears
there.
Yeah.
A
Let's
table
it,
let's
definitely
talk
about
and
for
now,
let's
review
the
draft
I'm
feeling
good
about
moving
on
everybody
cool
with
that
thumbs
up
awesome.
Thank
you.
All
right
code
of
conduct
documentation
come
on
computer,
okay,
all
right,
so
there
has
been
a
lot
of
activity
in
this
space.
A
Let's
talk
about
it,
anybody
want
to
give
us
a
summary
of
where
we
stand
right
now:
Oh
elections,
oh
cool,
so
the
Charter
was
approved.
I.
Believe
let
me
check
on
that
for
us.
Yes,
it
was
okay,
great,
so
the
thing
about
the
Charter
that
we
wanted
to
talk
more
about
or
the
thing
that
wasn't
included
in
the
Charter.
As
far
as
our
last
conversation
is
how
elections
are
done
and
kind
of
like
we
need
to
still
lay
out
document.
The
election
process.
A
B
E
D
D
B
The
timeline
for
the
code
committee
collections
conduct
many
elections
anyway,
like
if
we
find
that,
oh
no,
it's
a
mono
employer,
roster
I,
think
it's
totally
appropriate
or
fair
for
us
to
call
it
Mulligan
or
whatever
it's
a
up.
Let's,
let's
do
this
again
or
something,
but
maybe
I'm
being
like
two
iterative
about
this.
Here's.
A
F
I
feel
like
we
don't
have
quorum
right
now.
I
think
that
sounds
good
from
my
personal
opinion.
J
B
Start
can
do
an
issue
to
followup
on
mono
employer,
given
recusal
standards.
I
thought
the
recusal
stuff
written
in
the
Charter
was
great,
but
I
don't
want
this
election
to
dr.
merch.
Until
we
have
something
about
no
mono
employer,
it
could
just
be
no
model
employer.
That's
fine,
but
something
I
like
yeah
I'd
rather
fix
it
before
it
is
in
Eric.
F
D
Was
there
can
I
agree
generally
that
I
don't
care
about
that
I
think
we
can
iterate
on
the
detail.
I
agree
with
the
Monde
employer
or
recruiter
approach.
I
think
it's
fine.
If
he
exists
thing
could
have
kind
of
a
discusses
it
and
comes
back
with
something
and
letting
I
think
the
spirit
behind
what
Aaron's
asking
for
is
the
right
outcome.
A
B
A
A
E
F
It's
still
blowing
our
scope
well
yeah,
at
the
end
of
the
day,
like
at
the
end
of
the
day
like
we
have
people
that
are
just
working
on
this
because
they
want
to
work
on
it
because
it's
the
life
and
it
like
everybody,
loves
slack,
so
I
feel
like
yes,
it's
gonna
get
covered,
but
I
don't
know.
I
would
like
to
know.
I
don't
like
to
I
would
like
to
know
why
CN
CF
owns
Twitter
and
they
won't
own
slack.
I.
K
A
Just
want
to
rehash
some
context
here
for
everyone.
We
had
a
bunch
of
issues
with
a
bunch
of
wide-ranging
issues
with
using
slack
for
which
you
know,
control
backs
and
a
slack
moderation
has
done
a
great
job,
but
it
is
draining
work.
It
is
a
lot
of
work
and
their
needs.
You
know
it
is
not
exactly
in
the
scope
of
contributor
experience,
but
it's
something
that's
fallen
under
slack.
Moderation
has
fallen
under
control.
A
A
A
But
since
this
is
like
not
on
fire,
I
would
say:
let's
go
and
D
prioritize,
but
I
think
that
now
that
there
is
a
proposal
process,
I
think
as
a
contributor
experiences
should
come
back
to
us
with
a
proposal
that
makes
sense
or
we
should
keep
the
proposal
that
we
have
and
y'all
tell
us
steering
what
to
do
in
tax
or
what
what
you
would
like
next
and
when
I
know,
there's
a
lot
going.
Also
on
with
you
know,
Cabernets
contributor
summit.
So
that's
taken
a
lot
of
context,
and
so
this
is
kind
of
I.
B
Is
involved
just
happens
to
be
that,
like
our
contributors
really
really
like
slack-
and
it
is
also
valuable
to
the
end
user
community
and
the
project
as
a
whole
that
end
users
can
also
show
up
at
slack,
but
the
volume
of
end
users
compared
to
the
volume
of
contributors
is
significantly
larger,
and
so
it
would
be
helpful
if
we
had
somebody
to
sort
of
help
us
with
the
end
user
experience
of
kubernetes
the
community
Cuba
days.
The
project
Houma
is
the
ecosystem.
I,
don't
know
what
you
call
it.
B
The
CN
CF
does
have
like
user
groups
right.
Let's
think
they
have
a
person
dedicated
to
that.
So
the
proposal
I
feel
like
we
were
reviewed,
was
like.
We
really
need
is
like
a
person
to
own
this,
and
it
wasn't
just
about
moderation
of
slack.
It
was
about
moderation
of
like
user
community
stuff,
all
the
things
yeah.
B
A
B
Metal,
okay,
so
I
felt
like
what
happened
with
the
proposal
was
we
saw
it
and
were
like
oh,
the
sort
of
individual
who
would
need
to
own
this
entirely
as
a
full-time
job,
instead
of
it
being
a
piecemeal
volunteer
effort
is
a
very
like
special
kind
of
intimate
individual
to
find,
and
so,
even
if
we
went
and
like
asked
C&C
yeah
like
hey,
we
want
this
like.
Where
would
they
source
this
person
from?
B
A
Conversation
who
would
be
you
know
higher,
because
when
you
go
to
C&C
up
and
say,
hey
I
want
a
person
to
do
this.
You
have
to
have
like
a
job
description
for
them
to
and
so
I
think.
If
I
don't,
if
I
recall
correctly,
we
may
being
thought
about
writing
a
Job
Description
to
put
on
the
whole
board
anything
that
was
the
next
thing
that
we
wanted
to
do.
Correct
Paris
is
nothing
so
okay
cool,
so
you
did
meet
so
that
should
be
a
good
step
right.
Oh
cool.
L
Is
there
anything
like
that,
currently,
that
bubbles
up
too
so
I
really
like,
like
the
cig,
apps
delivery
thing
in
terms
of
just
being
very
focused
on
engaging
the
end
users
and
providing
good
documentation?
Things
like
that
is.
Is
there
anything
like
that
that
right
now
is
that
very
much
the
situation
is
that
this
is
very
much
a
volunteer
effort.
This
is
very
much
falls
outside
of
everything
else.
That's
just
kind
of
the
red
haired
step
this.
You
know
this
step
kid.
You
know
for
lack
of
a
better
word,
but.
B
Don't
know
that
it's
necessarily
a
step.
Anything
I
think
that
there
have
been
certain
SIG's
that
are
very
receptive
to
the
experience
of
end
users
for
various
aspects
of
kubernetes.
So
you,
cluster
lifecycle,
wants
there.
What
your
pain
points
are
with
managing
clusters
see
gaps
wants
to
know
how
you
deploy
apps
to
clusters.
All
that
good
stuff
sake.
B
One
other
thing,
I'll
just
point
out
I
think
they
came
up
in
our
discussion-
is
the
the
model
we
we
went
towards
was
how
this
project
really
needs.
Good
Doc's,
good
Doc's
are
a
fundamentally
important
thing
and
the
CN
CF
kind
of
stepped
up
for
us
by
by
hiring
somebody
to
work
on
Doc's,
full-time
right
and
Zach.
B
Carlson's
done
amazing
work
in
sick
Doc's,
and
he
is
unfortunately
just
one
person
and
I
worry
about
him
sometimes,
but
we
thought
that
was
a
good
example
of
where
this
project
had
a
specific
need
and
the
CNC
F
hiring
somebody
to
to
fill
that
need,
and
so
we
were
hope
we
were
thinking
like.
That
was
the
model
we
could
use
for
this.
L
A
Thank
you,
good
people,
okay,
cool
leadership,
trainings
all
right
super
important.
We
need
to
get
it
done.
Brendan
Phillips
has
a
dime
I
posted
about
it
and
didn't.
Do
it
so
shame
on
me:
James
did
it.
Nobody
else
has
posted
about
it.
So
I
will
do
it
and
I
will
also
send
an
email
out.
So
this
sharing
committee.
A
All
right,
it
is
for
47
p.m.
my
time.
Let's
check
the
August
milestones
and
I
don't
owe
steering.
No,
that's
good,
that's
good,
okay,
cool!
Why
do
we
need
to
add
here?
There
are
some
things
that
are
very
very
imminent.
Is
the
right
word
I
think
that
we
haven't
done
so
like
Code
of
Conduct
committee
election,
which
I
don't
know?
Why
there's
not
an
issue
for
it
already?
Actually,
it's
the
Commission.
A
All
right,
so
here's
what's
happening,
I,
have
sent
out
a
nomination
form
for
sig,
chairs
and
tech
leaves
and
steering
committee
to
fill
out.
That
will
close
I
believe
tonight
is
the
deadline,
and
then
I
will
send
out
an
election.
A
F
B
B
F
B
A
Just
some
logistics
thing
are
we
cool
with
doing
milestone
like
monthly
milestones,
because,
like
we
only
have
a
public
meeting
once
a
month?
So
this
meeting
is
just
us
like
transitioning
things
from
one
month
to
another
and
it's
useful
because
we
go
down
the
list
and
talk
about
items
I
just
with
the
new
meeting.
Cadence
I
just
want
to
see
if
this
still
makes
sense.
B
You
could
also
argue
that
milestones
make
sense
when
they're
tied
to
the
cadence
of
switching
out
to
a
new
post
and
which
I'm
also
unclear
how
often
we're
supposed
to
be
doing
that
so
monthly
is
better
than
nothing
and
if
they
give
you
a
list
of
what's
on
our
radar.
There
are
many
issues
without
milestones,
and
it's
unclear
to
me
whether
those
are
on
our
radar
I
think
what
we
could
use
some
help
with
from
the
community
is,
if
folks
feel
like
the
issues
that
are
not
in
the
milestone
really
ought
to
be.
I.
B
B
B
A
A
E
E
C
A
Okay,
so
we
have
some
things
to
do.
We
need
to
talk
about
the
election,
both
the
steering
committee
election
and
move
the
process
forward
for
a
code
of
conduct
committee
election,
so
I
think
I
took
both
of
those
action
items
for
some
reason,
I
got
eager,
so
I'll
recommend,
but
yeah
thanks.
Everyone
for
coming
I
wait
for
minutes.
If
anyone
wants
to
bring
something
up
feel
free.
If
not,
we
can
close
out
you.
B
Can't
think
of
anything
that
needs
to
be
discussed
now,
but
for
what
it's
worth
I
have
been
keeping
tabs
on
the
sake
cloud
provider
merch
that
happened.
Might
what
I
have
seen
thus
far.
Is
that
it's
going
smoothly
and
everybody
is
happy.
I
know
this
is
something
steering
signed
off
on
way
back
when
and
is
trying
to
sort
of.
We
have
something
to
check
in
later
this
month,
but
if
people
feel
like
there
any
bumps,
please
let
us
know
but
huge
thanks
to
everybody,
who's
been
working
on
them.
