Description
Kubernetes Public monthly Steering Committee Meeting for 20220801
A
Hello:
everyone
welcome
to
the
august
1st
2022
edition
of
the
kubernetes
steering
committee
public
meeting.
My
name
is
christophe.
Blecker
I'll
be
posing
this
meeting
today.
A
few
reminders
before
we
get
into
things
first
off
this
meeting
is
being
recorded
and
will
be
posted
on
youtube
later.
So
please
conduct
yourselves
accordingly.
In
addition,
we
follow
the
kubernetes
and
cncf
code
of
conduct
in
this
meeting.
A
If
you
want
more
information,
please
take
a
look
at
it,
but
it
can
also
be
summed
up
as
be
excellent
to
each
other.
We
have
a
few
items
to
get
through
today.
Normally
we
would
go
into
some
cncf
updates
first,
but
paris,
our
gp
rep
is
unfortunately,
won't
be
joining
us,
at
least
for
the
first
half
of
this
meeting.
So
I'm
gonna
skip
past
those
and
go
straight
into
our
topics,
the
first
one
being
selecting
a
bozen
for
our
next
couple
meetings.
A
The
torch
over
to
somebody
else,
do
you
have
any
volunteers
from
steering
who'd
like
to
run
the
the
next
couple
of
our
meetings
I'll
take
september.
A
A
Okay,
thank
you
to
you
both
so
bob
who
is
unfortunately
not
on
audio
today,
so
I
will
quickly
speak
for
him.
The.
A
The
election
officers
for
the
2022
steering
committee
election
have
posted
a
proposed
schedule,
so
if
you
haven't
yet,
I
would
ask
everyone
to
take
a
look
at
that.
Is
it
ready?
I
know,
there's
some.
B
Yeah,
the
last
one
I
checked
was,
I
think
we
were
trying
to
figure
out
like
should
the
steering
meet
immediately
after
the
election
is
over
or
should
we
push
the
date
so
that
the
you
know
steering
meeting
comes
on
the
monday
and
we'll
wrap
things
up
the
weekend
before
that
kind
of
thing,
but
other
than
that,
I
think
we
are
set
on
the
rest
of
the
dates.
B
Okay
and
what
what's
the
date
we're
trying
to
get
this
approved
by
just
so,
we
can
prioritize
appropriately,
like
asap
yesterday.
B
I
think,
by
the
end
of
this
week
should
be
good,
okay,
yeah,
like
merged
by
the
end
of
the
week.
Okay,
thank
you.
A
Yeah,
it
looks
like
the
first
key
date.
That's
called
out
in
the
schedule
is
the
announcement
of
the
election
and
publication
of
voters
md
that's
on
august
15th.
So
that's
two
weeks
from
now
so
yeah.
If
we
get
if
we
get
this
approved
by
end
of
week,
that
still
gives
time
for
the
election
officers
to
kind
of
do
all
the
things
they
need
to
do
next
week
ahead
of
that
announcement
and
kick
off.
D
Yep
so
in
october
the
week
before,
kubecon
we'll
be
having
our
ptg
in
columbus,
which
is
actually
just
a
three
hour
drive
from
detroit,
and
you
know
if
you
wanted
to
make
a
whole
weekend
of
it,
you
could
hang
out
in
between
them,
but
the
the
technical
committee
would
love
for
some
of
the
steering
committee
and
kubernetes
to
come
join
us.
D
We
don't
have
like
the
the
schedule
set
up
for
the
week
yet,
but
there's
going
to
be
a
lot
of
meetings
throughout
the
week
from
a
bunch
of
different
teams,
our
like
sig
equivalents
and
like
our
various
openstack
services,
will
have
their
own
teams
and
we'll
have
like
operators
meeting
there
too.
So
all
in
all,
it's
just
a
larger
technical
event
and
it's
more
than
just
openstack
as
well.
So
we
have
other
open
infrastructure
foundation.
Projects
like
starlingx
and
kata
containers
and
and
those
sorts
of
people
will
likely
be
there
as
well.
D
So
if
you're
interested
in
that
early
bird
pricing
goes
through
august
15th,
I
believe
and
then
it
goes
up
because
right
now
it's
it's
actually
pretty
cheap.
I
think
it's
like
200
and
that
actually
includes
food
and
like
attendance
all
week
long
and
then
we
have
a
discounted
hotel
room
block
set
up
at
the
the
venue
too.
So
it's
all
like
in
one
place
it's
very
easy
to
roll
out
of
bed
and
downstairs
into
meetings
so
yeah
it
would.
D
It
would
be
awesome
if
any
of
you
wanted
to
come,
even
just
for
like
thursday
friday
and
then
you
could.
We
can
road
trip
to
detroit,
which
is
actually
what
I'm
planning
on
doing
is
driving.
Since
it
is
a
super
short
drive
but
yeah,
it
would
be
awesome
to
have
any
of
you
interested.
I
know
tim
was
but
stuff
has
come
up
and
he's
not
able
to
make
it
this
time,
but
hopefully
he'll
advocate
as
well.
For
us.
B
A
A
Cool
I'll
personally
say:
I'm
not
sure
what
october
looks
like
for
me
just
yet
other
than
kubecon,
but
definitely
thank
you
for
the
invite.
It's
definitely
something
I'll
be
looking
and
seeing
if
they'll
fix
them
fits
into
my
schedule.
D
Yeah
and
like
in
the
future,
what
the
cadence
we're
planning
is
like
in
the
north
america
spring
so
like
april
may
ish
we're
going
to
continue
to
do
virtual
ones
and
then
our
impersonal
ones
are
going
to
be
in
the
fall
for
north
america.
So
next
fall
there'll
be
another
in-person
event
that
I
will
definitely
make
sure
to
extend
the
invite
too
and
you're
more
than
welcome
to
attend
the
virtual
one
come
spring
as
well
so
cool,
otherwise.
D
A
Okay,
great
the
next
one
is
one
that
I
just
added.
I
saw
you
you're
dropping
some
stuff
in
there
tim
update
on
the
code
of
conduct
committee
election.
C
Code
of
conduct
committee
election
is
underway,
and
thank
you,
jordan,
for
dropping
in
the
forum,
as
I
was.
I
think
that's
who
I
saw
or
whoever
whoever
did
it
in
the
minutes.
Thank
you.
Nominations
are
open
currently
for
an
open
for
a
couple
more
days.
C
Anybody
who
sees
this
video
anybody
here,
please
think
about
nominating
folks
or
considering
running
yourself.
This
is
a
critical
function
in
the
community.
We
have
three
openings.
We
have
three
folks
nominated,
but
it's
it's
always
good
to
have
a
diversity
of
folks,
because
we
also
have
attrition
where
things
happen,
and
people
drop
off
and
part
of
our
mechanism
for
filling
is
to
have
a
bench
of
people
ready
and
willing.
So
it
would
be
nice
if
we
had
some
more
that
come
in
over
time
here,
but
it's
we're
done
the
last
couple
days.
B
Do
we,
I
wasn't
sure
whether
it
was
three
I
I
heard
differently.
That's
why
I'm.
C
C
D
C
B
A
The
other
thing
that
I'll
point
out
just
for
this
meeting
and
the
recording
and
anybody
who
might
hear
this
message
is
the
eligibility
for
that
position.
You
do
not
even
need
to
be
in
our
community
to
be
eligible
for
this,
the
idea
being
that
a
mix
of
different
perspectives
and
that
kind
of
stuff
is
helpful
and
so
like
there's.
A
There
is
a
set
of
eligibility
requirements,
that's
like
in
the
email
to
to
stand
as
a
candidate,
but
one
of
them
is
not
like
being
an
active
code
maintainer
in
the
community,
because
there's
lots
of
different
perspectives
and
lots
of
different
ways
to
contribute.
This
is
a
very
important
one.
A
Great
moving
on
it
doesn't
look
like
we
have
any
other
items
in
the
agenda
right
now,
so
I
will
open
it
to
the
floor.
If
anybody
wants
to
bring
up
any
things
to
talk
about
anything
specific.
B
I
I
remember
you
were
at
some
point
talking
about
the
cncf
cocc
approver
thing,
so
we
should
probably
give
a
shout
out
here
as
well.
If
people
are
interested
in
that.
A
Sure
yeah,
I
could
give
kind
of
a
just
a
brief
little
synopsis
about.
What's
what's
going
on
there,
so
at
the
related
to
the
code
of
conduct
stuff
at
the
cncf
level,
they
are
also
currently
developing
a
code
of
conduct.
A
There
is
two
processes
that
are
still
in
flight.
I
think,
actually,
I
think,
the
the
first
one,
which
was
feedback
on
the
interim
code
of
conduct,
documentation
that
I
think
that
feedback
window
is
closed
and
they're
they're
going
through
it.
Aaron
boyd
is
chairing
that
interim
group
and
is,
I
know,
steering
provided
some
feedback.
A
A
That'll
be
kicking
off
in
the
coming
days,
will
be
a
an
election
for
the
approvers
for
that
group,
which
is
basically
like,
I
think,
there's
gonna
be
one
maintainer
seat
and
there's
one
staff
seat
and
those
are
folks
to
just
basically
make
sure
that
the
process
and
stuff
is
being
followed
and
any
documentation,
and
that
kind
of
stuff
that
is
created
as
part
of
that
process
has
gone
through
and
received
commit
sufficient
community
feedback.
A
Staff
feedback
has
considered
this
and
all
the
kind
of
considerations
needed
addressed
before
it
actually
goes
into
place
so
that
election
trying
to
find
those
specific
dates.
But
that's
gonna,
be,
I
think,
in
the
next
week
or
two
right,
tim.
B
Yeah,
I
think,
there's
two
things
there
right.
One
is,
if
you
want
to
be,
if
you
want
to
stand
for
the
election,
you've
got
to
do
something,
and
if
you
want
to
elect,
if
you
want
to
vote
in
the
election,
then
there
is
a
form
you
need
to
fill
up
for
that
right.
A
Yeah,
I
think
the
nomination
period
to
stand
for
approver
is
closed.
A
So
it's
for
listed
maintainers.
So
anybody
on
the
steering
committee,
who's
listed
as
a
a
project
maintainer
for
for
cncf
purposes,
can
request
a
ballot.
A
Great
great,
so
with
that,
I
will
go
back
to
the
floor.
If
there's
any
other
discussion
points
that
want
to
be
brought
up,
as
we
are
at
the
end
of
our
stated
agenda.
C
A
Okay,
I
think
we're
going
to
wrap
early
today
then.
Thank
you,
everyone
for
attending.
I
appreciate
everyone's
interest
in
community
governance.
We
will
see
everybody
in
september
thanks.
