Description
Kubernetes SIG Windows 20200303
A
Hello,
everybody
and
welcome
to
another
sick
windows,
Meetup,
it's
the
3rd
of
March,
our
first
meeting
in
March,
and
thank
you
all
for
attending
and
as
always,
this
is
a
scene
CF
meetings
and
it's
recorded.
So
please
adhere
to
our
code
of
conduct
a
couple
of
diligence
items
beginning
a
lot
of
questions
from
the
community
around
what's
gonna
happen
with
Kubek
on.
Are
we
gonna
go?
Is
a
conference
gonna
happen
be
a
word
that
this
is
a
hot
topic
in
the
community
today
the
TOC
and
the
CN
CF
brass
is
looking
into
it.
A
They
have
not
officially
made
the
decision
beyond
saying
that
the
conference
is
still
on,
but
there
are
a
lot
of
regulatory
and
governing
bodies
both
different
corporations
like
the
companies.
Thank
you.
You
all
work
for,
as
well
as
in
the
Netherlands,
their
conference
centre,
hotels
that
are
rethinking
their
policies
around
this,
even
though
the
conference
is
not
consult,
there
are
some
companies
that
have
are
prohibiting
their
employees
from
attending
or
not
necessarily
from
a
tony
kubek
owned
by
the
prohibiting
their
that
employees
from
doing
overseas
travel
at
the
end
of
the
day.
A
This
is
a
personal
issue
if
any
of
you
do
not
feel
comfortable
about
going
to
cuba
come
for
whatever
reason,
please
feel
free
to
pull
out.
There's
no
penalties,
nobody's
gonna,
think
twice
about
that.
This
is
a
decision
that
you
have
to
make
individually
for
your
own
safety
for
your
family.
So
this
is
not
about
what
your
company
or
the
ciencia
for
anybody
else
would
do.
So
I
think
about
the
other
personal
level
and
make
the
right
decision
for
you.
B
Should
something
get
canceled
I
suppose
it'd
be
possible
to
always
record
and
share
something
separately.
I
know
that
if
anyone
has
topics
that
they
wanted
to
talk
about,
I
know
that
George's
Castro
has
offered
to
facilitate
some
of
those
in
the
past.
So
we
could
always
have
that
discussion
on
flag
and,
of
course,
we
could
also
do
stuff
during
meetings
here.
If
there
are
topics
that
people
want
to
talk
about,
I.
A
Mean
if
it
ends
up
that
not
enough
folks
attend
or
it
gets
canceled
I'm
sure
some
form
of
a
virtual
conference
to
provide
everyone
with
an
update
on
the
beat
of
the
CCF
in
the
community
is
likely
going
to
happen,
so
maybe
won't
be
in
the
form
of
all
those
sessions,
because
then
it
will
become
a
logistical
nightmare
and
really
test
the
the
ability
of
zoom
to
have
8,000
people
on
a
call,
but
so
I'm
assuming
something
will
happen,
what
it
is
I,
don't
know
yet
all
right.
Let's
take
a
look
at
our
agenda.
A
C
So,
after
a
long
time,
I
guess
the
first
part
of
the
window,
support
test
images
finally
emerged.
Yeah
and
the
other
two
parts
are
mental.
To
follow.
At
the
very
least,
the
second
one
it's
trivial
to
just
prove
is
just
adding
the
windows
bits,
it's
quite
easy,
the
other
one.
Hopefully
there
won't
be
too
much
debate.
C
This
is
the
pull
request
that
got
merged
and
also
what
this
particular
also
contains
is
that
it
enables
the
image
promoter
to
also
build
windows,
images
and
those
will
be
published
and
pushed
by
the
image
folder
to
twits
registry.
So
we
won't
have
to
rely
on
anyone
else
to
actually
rebuild
everything
and
motion
publishes
so
on
and
so
forth.
Everything
is
being
automated.
A
B
Okay,
yeah.
Thank
you.
So
much
Claudia
I'll
go
ahead
with
the
next
image
on
the
list,
so
this
is
put
off
from
a
couple
weeks
ago.
So
there
was
an
issue
that
I
ran
into
where
containers
were.
Basically,
the
windows
updates
weren't
compatible
between
the
January
and
the
February
version.
So
when
it
came
to
containers
and
so
I
had
some
discussions
with
people
that
were
investigating
these
yesterday
and
they're
still
working
on
updating
the
knowledge
base
in
Docs
around
this.
B
But
basically
my
understanding
is
that
the
February
and
March
stuff
will
be
interchangeable
and
so
like
today,
we've
got
all
the
test.
Stuff
basically
pinned
to
January
because
of
that
problem,
and
we
were
waiting
for
we're
waiting
to
get
more
info
on
that.
But
now
that
it
looks
like
February
and
March
or
okay
together,
don't
have
yet.
B
D
Yeah
I
mean
can
do
we
can
do
whatever
we
need
to
do.
I'm
still
just
kind
of
shocked
at
this
whole
situation
and
that
it
sort
of
feels
like
Microsoft
is
going
back
on
its
promises
and
it's
documentation
where
it
said.
There's
gonna
be
compatibility
with
in
those
build
numbers
or
the
revision
numbers
or
whatever.
The
number
is
and
that's
not
happening,
which
again
is
just
shocking
to
me.
B
B
Mean
it's
I'm
frustrated
too
right
now
and
but
I'm
at
this
point,
I'm
kind
of
waiting
for
them
to
come
back
with
some
more
information
on
and
for
guidance
on
this,
and
so
they've
said
that
they're
going
to
update
the
docs
once
a
you
got,
everything
I
mean
I,
just
feel
kind
of
kind
of
stuck
right
now,
while
we're
waiting
on
this
we're
waiting
on
them
to
update
whatever
guidance.
Is
there
it's
yeah,
it's
a
surprise
and
it's
not
a
pleasant
one.
B
B
B
B
A
So
so
feed
and
one
thing
on
the
hyper-v
and
I
know
had
this
discussion
before
here.
In
the
sake
is
hyper-v.
Isolation
requires
a
hyper-v
role
to
be
enabled
at
the
VM
level
and
depending
this
is
a
licensing
issue
Microsoft.
That
I
believe
does
not
support
hyper-v
to
be
sitting
on
top
of
an
non
hyper-v
hypervisor.
So
so
that's
something
that
I
know
Patrick
have
talked
to
Taylor
before
and
others
so
Microsoft
can
look
into
it.
So
that's
something
to
be
aware
of
I
miss.
B
A
E
So
what
happens
in
scenarios
where
you're
trying
to
bring
up
you
know
clusters
on
AWS
with
Windows
nodes,
and
we
can
only
deal
with
you
know,
hyper-v
support,
which
means
you
have
to
use
like
really
expensive
instances
like
those
I
three
instances
are.
We
is
that
is
that
what
we
are
going
to
tell
people
who
want
to
use
Windows
on
like
AWS
windows,
no
one's
on
a
Tobias.
B
B
But
then
that
would
be
a
case
where
you
could
basically
use
you
know.
You
know
if
you
needed
to
the
larger
VMs,
but
I
mean
I,
think
the
trade-off
you're
looking
at
there
is
that,
let's
say
you've
got
two
or
three
node
pools.
You've
got
a
lot
of
VM,
so
maybe
idle,
because
you're
migrating
apps
off
of
2019
and
on
to
99,
or
something
like
that.
So
it's
like.
B
E
Think
so
it's
basically,
if
folks
wanted
you,
you
know
you
would
either
use
process,
isolation
and
kind
of
mix-and-match
with
process.
Isolation
and
IP
realization,
based
on
I,
don't
know
sort
of
cost-cutting
versus
how
much
what
your?
What
are
the
the
list
of
things
you
want
to
actually
be
able
to
run
on
Windows
is
I,
guess
the
claim
you
have
to
make
and
I
think.
B
B
B
B
B
B
B
B
Needs
to
get
the
CRI
api
from
kubernetes
and
then
some
of
the
ad
tests,
also
in
kubernetes,
want
to
get
stuff
from
the
container
d
repo,
and
so
you
have
to
kind
of
like
update
tomato
same
time
and
then
I'm
hoping
that
that
can
get
resolved
at
some
point
by
moving
CRI
API
out,
because
that
would
be
the
easiest
way
to
do
it.
Just
let
that
flow
downstream.
There,
few
repos
and
some
hoping
that
the
code
organization
team
was
able
to
do
that.
But
I
don't
have
any
yeah.
A
F
A
A
All
right
separately
with
them
I
want
to
know
what
I
know
that
one
of
the
PRS
merged
for
the
sick
tools
work.
That
Ben
was
working
on
with
gab
and
me
had
reviewed
that
I,
don't
know
what
else
is
left
I'll
ping
Bell
all
right.
Is
there
anything
else
for
118
that
you
may
need
to
review
or
the
CPU
limit
stuff
did
that
go
in
artic,
yeah,
okay,.
B
B
B
A
B
Mention
is
I'm
actually
starting
a
new
job
next
week
and
I'm
not
expecting
to
be
able
to
spend
much
much
time
on
sick
windows,
and
so
when,
when
I'm
proposing
is
to
have
Mark,
took
my
place
and
be
you
know,
the
primary
point
of
contact
from
Microsoft
and
serve
as
a
sig
care
and
namaz
is
also
part
of
the
Windows
product
team
and
he's
working
very
closely
with
mark
in
terms
of
helping
develop
a
roadmap
and
how
we
want
to
manage
that
stuff.
Going
forward.
As
Simoes
wants
to
talk
more
about
that
next
week.
B
A
So
it's
a
couple
of
things
from
a
governance
standpoint
myself
and
Dee
pimpin
all
agree
with
the
change
to
swap
Patrick
for
four
markers.
Id
I
want
to
make
sure
that
before
we
execute
on
that
change,
if
anybody
in
the
community
or
from
the
people
the
contributing
and
actively
involved
in
segundos,
if
you
feel
differently
about
that,
you
do
not
need
to
speak
in
public.
Please
send
me
a
private
message
on
slack
and
I
can
talk
with
you
guys.
Obviously
we
want
to
hear
the
voice
of
our
community.
A
If
anybody
has
any
concerns,
please
bring
them
up.
Essentially
what
will
happen
if
there
are
no
disagreements,
then
we'll
create
a
PR
into
the
swap
Patrick
as
a
city
lead
is
allowed
to
nominate
a
replacement
for
him
as
he
stepping
down
and
essentially
what
happened.
Is
a
dual-sim
mark
a
lot
more
involved
in
our
community
and
taking
an
active
role
as
a
leader
for
for
Windows.
B
Happy
with
how
far
it's
let's
come
in
the
last
last
two
years,
really
the
last
year
is
what
kind
of
really
made
all
this
real,
most
really
happy
to
see
all
the
test
image
stuff.
Finally
merging
to,
because
now
we're
getting
to
the
point
where
it's
I
feel
like
that's,
where
we
need
to
be
to
get
this
sustainable.
