The Know Your MIP call is an ongoing series of meetings used to introduce recently proposed MIPs and allow for a live back-and-forth discussion with their creators regarding the proposal’s impact on the DAO.


Cogent Bank, an FDIC regulated Florida commercial bank, proposes participating $100M of loans to MakerDAO’s existing RWA Master Participation Trust, on the same terms and with the same legal documents as Huntingdon Valley Bank.

Know Your MIP #18 – MIP97 & MIP98

Description
The Know Your MIP call is an ongoing series of meetings used to introduce recently proposed MIPs and allow for a live back-and-forth discussion with their creators regarding the proposal’s impact on the DAO.

This MIP set is the evolution of Work-based Budgeting and aims to give the DAO better tools to enable a decentralized workforce. MIP97 - DAO-level Objective Framework - is a consensus tool for Governance to define work, while MIP98 - Work Proposal Framework - is a coordination tool for enabling funding in exchange for value.

For this series’ 16th session, we hosted the team behind MIP92 to discuss onboarding USDC from the PSM to Yearn to generate Yield. The proposal aims to onboard 100m of USDC. This MIP will enter the Frozen Period on December 28th and have a Formal Submission Window of January 1st through the 4th for submission to the January Governance Cycle.

For this series’ 15th session, we hosted the team behind MIP87 to discuss another proposed strategy to deploy funds from the PSM to generate yield. MIP87: OUSD Decentralized Rewards is a proposal by Origin Protocol to deploy up to 33% of the PSM’s USDC into Origin Dollar (OUSD), a rebasing yield-generating stablecoin, to enable income via a solution that allows MakerDAO to retain custody over the funds.

This amendment addresses the gaps in the Core Unit Offboarding process for the Core Unit MIP set. Work on this amendment is near completion, but the final details need additional input to finalize the improvements to this process.

In the latest development in the ongoing discussion about Core Unit budgeting, MIP40 defines a framework for managing and modifying Core Unit budgets and has been amended with several substantial changes.

Some primary changes include:

- Budget Submission Windows: Budget Submission Windows is a new aspect of Core Unit budgets outlined by MIP40. Budget requests can only be submitted quarterly in March, June, September, and November.

- Budget Start and End Dates: Budgets now have a maximum duration of 12 months and cannot start later than three months after being formally submitted.

- Budget Composition: Budget requests are now required to provide more specific details
