Description
In this 11-minute Site Owner-focused demo, Kiran Thomas shows a Power App-based Microsoft Teams app that provides a simple workflow where staff can check-in with a photo, location, and other details directly from within Microsoft Teams. The solution brings together capabilities of Teams, PowerApps, Adaptive Cards, Microsoft Power Automate, and of the user’s mobile device. Staff can receive reminders; supervisors can see check-in details as occur or in a roll-up report. This PnP Community call demo is taken from the General Microsoft 365 Development Special Interest Group (SIG) - Bi-weekly sync call recorded on September 3, 2020.

talking
about
the
staff
check-ins
app
template,
which
is
a
app
template.
That's
mainly
intended
for
use
by
frontline
worker
teams
to
be
able
to
do
check-ins
with
their
company
or
their
supervisor
or
their
manager
on
a
periodic
basis.
So
we
can
just
remind
you
before
we
jump
into
the
demo.
What
app
templates
are
so
app
templates
are
custom
company
apps
that
you
can
pick
up
and
install
to
your
team's
tenon.

You
can
add
features
to
it
and
so
on,
and
if
you
look
at
the
graph
on
the
right,
it's
intended
to
be
easy
to
customize,
but
also
quick
to
be
able
to
deploy
to
your
apps
and
it
kind
of
sits
in
between
starting
from
scratch
and
building
your
own
custom
applications
or
using
an
app
from
the
store.
That's
a
live
service
and
just
remind
you
what
the
benefits
are:
there's
almost
no
coding
and
very
little
configuration
required
to
start
using
these
apps
they're.
Like
I
mentioned
customizable,
you
can
change
the
name
of
it.

So
now
a
little
bit
about
staff
check-ins
itself.
So
this
is
a
powerapps-based
app
template
that
allows
either
a
front-line
worker
team
to
work
with
a
supervisor
team
and
an
admin
team
to
be
able
to
set
up
new
check-ins
and
collaborate
on
teams
around
those
check-ins.
So
examples
are
situations
where,
like
a
retail
store,
where
you'd,
like
your
team,
to
be
able
to
take
photographs
of,
say,
the
supermarket,
aisles
and
post
that
another
example
of
where
you
use
the
staff
check-ins
is
think
of
a
construction
company.

Maybe
you
have
your
workers
remotely
working
in
a
site
and
you'd
like
them
to
check
in
either
some
say
protective
equipment
or
some
other
inspection
on
a
periodic
basis.
You
can
set
up
this
check-in
to
happen,
say
every
day
or
once
a
week
or
certain
days
of
the
week,
and
you
can
have
that
take
a
photo
based
on
a
location
and
so
on.

a
preview
of
what
it's
going
to
look
like
before
we
jump
right
in
to
the
demo.
We've
intended
this
to
be
work
on
both
mobile
and
and
your
desktop
teams
client.
So
the
supervisor
would
set
up
the
staff
check-in
on
their
desktop
teams
directly
from
teams
without
having
to
go
anywhere
else
and
once
they
set
that
checking
up
it'll
send
a
reminder
to
the
team
to
do
their
check-ins,
whether
it's
scheduled
or
ad
hoc
and
it'll
happen
on
an
ongoing
basis.

is
where
you
can
grab
the
app

So

is
the

and
just
to
pretend,
like
I'm,

in
any
way

particular
