From YouTube: Getting started with the SharePoint Provisioning Service
Description
Video showing on how to get started with the SharePoint Provisioning Service designed to easily provision sample and solution content to your tenant(s).
Service is available at http://provisioning.sharepointpnp.com and currently requires that the user is a tenant administrator for the provisioning functionality.
All provided templates are open-sourced and available from https://github.com/SharePoint/sp-dev-provisioning-templates to be used also without the service, if you, for example, prefer to use PnP PowerShell to apply them to your tenant.
This video has been recorded on March 2019 when service went to public preview.
A
But
at
least
in
my
case,
it's
just
easier
sign
into
the
target
tenant.
First
and
then
you
go
to
this
service.
So
the
service
is
in
a
provisioning,
SharePoint
BMP
com.
It
is
currently
in
a
public
beta
testing
or
start
you're
able
to
already
test
this
within
your
talent
and
the
functionalities
have
been
validated
by
Microsoft
internally
already
so.
Text
here
has
been
changed
to
be
public,
so
I'm
recording
this
one.
A
So
in
my
case,
I'm
kind
of
now
used
as
an
example
I'm
going
to
use
the
cantos
of
workshop
site,
which
is
a
relatively
simple
template,
even
though
it's
really
cool-looking
modern
communication
sign.
So
let
me
first
select
width
of
the
templates
and
basically
you
want
to
use
we're
kind
of
use
in
this
case
cantos
a
work
shift
site
for
all
of
the
templates.
We
have
additional
details,
so
you
can
scroll
down.
A
You
can
actually
see
the
high
level
top
of
the
template
additional
nodes,
the
details
on
what
the
template
actually
is
containing
the
full
layout
of
the
template
as
well,
and
then
additional
pre
requirements
if
there
are
any
so
in
this
case
as
an
example,
this
template
can
be
applied
to
a
say,
independent
site
collection,
there's
no
additional
pre-requirements,
some
of
the
templates.
They
have
requirements
for
having
app
catalog
in
your
tenant,
which
is
completely
understandable
because
they
contain
customizations.
A
Now
after
you
select
that
which
template
you
want
to
use,
you
can
actually
click
the
add
to
your
tenant
button
in
here
on
the
right
side
and
keep
on
to
understand
when
we
release
the
service.
All
of
the
templates
are
requiring
tenant
administrative
permission,
so
this
doesn't
work
unless
you're,
not
a
tenant
administrator,
to
have
to
get
an
administrator
to
make
things
work.
A
When
you
click
that
to
your
talent,
it's
going
to
be
a
constant
using
Azure
ad
and
it
is
requiring
quite
heavy
permissions
because
we
are
actually
creating
site
collections,
attending
configurations
to
your
tenant
to
all
the
main
things
as
much
as
possible,
and
this
is
precisely
what
requires
a
10
on
that
initiative
permissions.
So
we
kind
of
consent
on
behalf
of
the
organization
and
click
accept
and
after
that,
I'm
now
ready
to
start
at
the
provisioning
process.
A
Now,
if
you
don't
like
the
constant
such
a
heavy
permissions,
you
can
actually
download
all
of
these
permission
allotted
templates
as
an
as
a
separate
download
as
well.
So
they
are
open
source
templates
and
you
can
use
B&B
PowerShell
to
apply
them
to
your
tenant.
So
if
you
don't
want
to
use
the
centralized
service,
but
with
this
service,
it's
really
really
easy,
and
so
basically
now
that
was
selected.
The
template,
which
we
wanna
provision.
A
We
can
provide
the
notification
email
which
we're
going
to
be
notified
when
the
provisioning
is
completed,
and
then
we
can
modify
the
title
and
the
site
URL
if
needed.
We
can
also
select
an
existing
theme
if
we
have
any
existing
themes
in
a
tenant.
In
this
case,
we're
going
to
use
the
default.
Theming
custom
is
simplicity,
perspective
and
then
it's
not
in
more
than
clicking
provision.
We
kind
of
get
confirmed
on
what's
actually
kind
of
happen.
A
In
this
case,
the
template
takes
approximately
five
minutes
to
complete
the
provisioning
and
there
will
be
an
email
sent
to
the
email
address
and
that's
happening.
So
let
me
click
confirm
and
we
get
a
confirmation
that
the
request
the
provisional
site
has
been
recorded,
and
at
this
point
this
process
is
complete
as
a
synchronous.
So
I
need
to
wait
until
we
get
a
notification
email
sent
to
this
address
which
you
provided.
A
So
in
my
case,
there's
quite
a
few
emails
actually
already
old
emails
in
here,
but
let's
see
when
the
new
email
is
arriving,
so
we
can
actually
see
that
the
provisioning
is
fully
completed
and
we
can
go
to
the
site
itself.
We're
gonna
speed
up
the
video
at
this
point.
So
let's
continue
when
the
email
has
arrived.
A
And
there
we
go
now
we
got
the
email
and
we
can
say
that
email
notification
arrived
on
the
inbox.
We
can
see
the
email
in
here
right
now,
if
you
haven't
actually
concerned
that
download
of
the
images
and
there's
a
small
image
rendering,
but
this
can
be
solved
really
easily
by
trusting
the
service
and
trusting
the
sender
and
after
that
the
emails
are
looking
quite
nice.
A
So
basically,
what
the
email
saying
is
that
your
request
to
provision
condos
workshop
site
is
now
completed,
enjoy
your
newly
created
sites
or
site
and
click
the
below
link
to
get
access
on
the
provision
side.
So
if
you
click
this
link
now
we
are
getting
redirected
to
this
site,
which
is
now
ordered,
created
and
auto-generated
to
the
tenant.
A
Whether
we
were
signed
in
with
the
permissions
and
properties
and
parameters
which
was
set
on
the
on
the
prioritization
page
few
things
to
notice
maybe
and
there
the
parameters
which
were
peeking
asked
just
before
we
started
the
provisioning.
Those
are
dependent
on
the
templates
of
the
template
itself.
A
There
might
be
differences
on
the
parametrization,
which
is
provided,
but
quite
often
it's
the
site,
title
site,
URL
and
then
the
email
and
nothing
more
than
that
also
like
mentioned,
if
you
don't
like
to
sign
in
and
crank
this
application
as
many
permissions
as
as
mentioned,
you
can
always
download
these
templates
also
from
github,
and
you
can
use
BMP
PowerShell
to
sign
in
and
apply
these
templates
to
your
tenant
or
to
your
demo
tenants
for
demo
usage,
but
that's
as
simple
as
that.
You
basically
go
to
the
provisioning
the
shape
under
common
address.
A
You
have
a
look
on
width
of
the
template,
you're
actually
going
to
apply.
You
select
the
template
and
have
a
detailed
look
on
well,
it's
always
recommended
to
have
a
look
on
what
the
template
actually
is
provisioning
because,
as
an
example
you
scroll
down
here,
if
you
go
to
the
SharePoint
starter
kit,
this
Sharon's
not
I,
get
provisions
quite
a
lot
of
different
things.
Additional
configurations
like
17
custom,
wig
parts,
and
if
you
want
don't
want
this
70
web
parts
to
be
available
in
your
talent,
we
do
not
recommend
applying
this
to
your
production
tenant.
A
You
can
absolutely
use
it
in
a
test
environment
such
but
having
a
look
on
what
the
template
actually
contains.
Having
a
look
on
what's
actually
happening
here
and
then
act
clicking
the
advert
amount
and
that's
it,
you
will
get
an
email
after
the
provisioning
is
completed
the
time
what
the
provisioning
takes
is
highly
dependent
on
the
selected
template.
A
This
might
be
actually
integrated
directly
in
office
raises
to
five
at
some
point,
but
we
wanted
to
start
as
a
separate
service
as
a
starting
point,
and
maybe
a
final
thing
also
to
notice,
and
this
service
itself
is
not
really
hosted
by
Microsoft.
It
is
owned
and
run
by
Microsoft,
but
it's
actually
supported
by
the
community
itself,
so
this
is
community
hosted
service.
So
if
you
need
to
have
any
support,
any
guidance,
please
use
our
SharePoint
dev
Docs
issue
list.
