Microsoft 365 Development Community call on January 7. Two demos: 1) Modern Content Query Web Part with Microsoft Graph Toolkit capabilities, and 2) Introduction to new SharePoint Success Site template in look book service. In this call you will be brought up to speed on efforts across many PnP projects. New training sessions and delivery dates have been added to the PnP Sharing is Caring site. doing
with
bmp.net,

today,
two
libraries,
pmp
framework
and
people
causing
a
pmp
framework.

older
pnp
core

they
gave
it

renewed
cleaned
focus
for
sharepoint
online,
whereas
p
p,
core
sdk
is
the
brand
new
newly
written
newly
coded
the
library
that
is
our
main
focus
going
forward
now,
both
are
there.

api
that

use
to
create
modern
pages
and
read
pages
etc,
and
that
has
been
there
for
like
a
long
time.

now
we
actually
deleted
all
that
code

it

pattern
that
you'll
see
us
doing
more
and
more
we'll
actually
rewrite
recode
things,

it

functional

auto
generated
documentation
for
paper
sdk,
but
we
also
have
some
documents

we

of
the

name

slow

under

hood,

using
the
core
sdk

sdk
gives

batching

request

create

item.

item
itself
is
not
being
created

moment

create
1000
items,
we
create
basically
1
000
requests
and
then
you
say,
execute
this
match

invoke

batch,

then
we
create
in
one
go.
It's
one
request
off
to
the
server
those
1000
items.
For
you,
the
speed
increase
is
incredible.

difference
can
be
like
instead
of
minutes
of
running
your
scripts.
It
goes
down
to
seconds.

that's
it's
really
nice.
There
are
some
limitations
of
what
you
can
do,
what
you
can
do,
and
that
has
to
do
with

logic
behind
batching,
but
that
will
come
in
in
1.0
and
not
every
command
that
will
support
it.
Only
a
subset
of
the
commands
will
support
it.

old
version
of
pnp
powershell,
the
legacy

classic
pnp
powershell
will
go
into
read-only
mode.

part
in
combination
with
the
microsoft
graph,
toolkit
or
mgt.
As
you
may
know
it,
my
name
is
david
warner.
Catapult
systems
on
the
pnp
team
and
with
me
is
hugo,
bernier
hi
everybody.
So
let's
talk
a
little
bit
about
the
contemporary
web
part.
This
is
a
familiar
web
part
going
back
to
the
days
of
classic
on-prem.
You
can
see
this
screenshot
here
is
circa
2013.

It
was
a
very
powerful
web
part.
It
had
some
degrees
of
shortcomings.
Things
like
it
couldn't
do
cross-site
connections
to
get
your
content,
but
it
was
pretty
powerful
in
pulling
in
data
from
lists
and
libraries
and
allowing
you
to
customize
how
that
content
was
presented
on
the
page.
Now
you
had
to
use
things
like
xsl,
which
wasn't
everyone's
favorite.
In
fact,
in
many
cases
people
really
didn't
even
know
what
xsl
was.
I
remember
talking
to
a
group
of
developers
and
saying
how
do
you
like
xsl-
and
they
say
I
use
microsoft-
excel
all
the
time.

So
not
even
everyone
really
knew
about
xsl
or
how
to
use
it.
It
was
a
little
cumbersome,
not
the
best
to
use,
but
in
this
new
world
of
modern
and
the
patterns
of
practices
community,
where
the
community
builds
things
for
everyone,
we
have
the
react.
Modern
content,
query
web
part
with
this
being
a
community
web
part
we're
constantly
seeing
improvements,
and
so
we're
going
to
show
off
some
of
those
improvements.

Today,
things
like
being
able
to
dive
into
information
about
a
person
column
getting
additional
info
about
that
person
in
terms
of
like
email
or
picture
information
about
the
person
metadata
very
powerful,
but
then
we're
going
to
see
how
we
can
combine
that
with
the
microsoft
graph.

the
microsoft
graph,
toolkit
and
and
I'll
use
mgt,
because
it's
faster
to
say
that
makes
it
easy
to
use

microsoft
graph
in
your
web
parts,

it
usually
requires
you
to
edit
your
sharepoint
framework
code.
Now
this
session
is
not
about
coding,
so
what
we
wanted
to
do
is
we
wanted
to
show
you
how
we
can
combine
the
a
new
feature
of
the
content.

to
make
calls
to
microsoft
graph
without
writing
any
code,
and
this
is
a
feature-
that's
been
requested,
a
lot
by
users.
They
want
to
use
the
content
query
web
part,
but
they
want
to
be
able
to
do
things
like
showing
information
about
people
when
they
obviously
don't
want
to
have
to
duplicate
that
information
in
their
sharepoint
lists.

dive
in
and
take
a
look
at
how
we
can
make
this
magical
combination
of
a
contact,
query
web
part
and
the
mgt
come
to
life,
I'm
going
to
jump
over
to
a
browser
and
let's
set
the
context
here
for
the
content
we're
going
to
work
with
now.
This
is
a
simple
list.
We
know
that
content,
query
web
parts
pull
content
from
our
lists
or
libraries,
so
we
have
three
very
simple
columns,
contributor,
name,
picture
and
contributor.

Now,
in
the
days
of
classic,
when
you
had
this
list,
there
wasn't
a
lot
of
things
you
could
do
to
it
to
make
it
look
better
out
of
the
box
just
within
a
list.
We
have
that,
though,
in
today's
list
formatting
ecosystem.
So
we
can
do
some
nice
degree
of
formatting.
Chris
shows
us
amazing,
powerful
ways
to
use
list
formatting
all
the
time,
but
there
is
a
ceiling
right,
we're
not
going
to
get
involved
with
javascript
on
a
list.

If
we
want
to
up
the
ante
on
that
experience
or
that
solution,
we're
usually
going
to
want
to
include
some
degree
of
javascript,
maybe
custom
html,
that's
not
allowed
within
a
list,
formatting
definition
and
maybe
some
additional
css
that
also
isn't
allowable
within
a
list.
Formatting
definition
using
things
like
pseudo
attributes
for
hover,
etc.
Things
like
that.

So
how
can
we
make
that
work?
Well,
the
content
query
web
part
gives
us
access
to
all
that,
but
the
beauty
is,
we
don't
have
to
be
spfx
developers.
We
don't
have
to
feel
like
we're
going
to
scaffold
out
a
new
spfx
web
part
we're
going
to
create
a
bunch
of
typescript
we're
going
to
package
it
deploy
it.
No,
the
content.
Query
webpart
gives
us
access
through,
what's
called
handlebars,
which
is
really
nothing
more
than
just
html,
css
and
javascript.

So,
let's
take
a
look
at
how
we
can
make
that
work
using
the
content,
query
web
part
and
we're
really
covering
this
as
a
basis
for
those
that
are
not
yet
maybe
familiar
with
the
content.
Query
party,
if
you
are
some
of
this,
may
be
a
little
bit
of
review,
but
we
know
we
have
new
ones
in
the
community
all
the
time
coming
to
these
calls.
So
I'm
going
to
edit
this
page,
it's
just
a
basic
page
and
I'm
going
to
look
for
my
content.

web
part.

got
it
right
there
and
now
it's
been
added
to
the
page,
so
we're
going
to
configure
it
and
if
you've
used
the
content
core
web
part
in
classic
then
you're
familiar
with
things
like
defining
the
source,
sorting
and
filtering.
So
we
can
do
cross-site
collection
sourcing
for
our
lists.
In
this
case,
I'm
going
to
connect
to
a
list
here
in
my
in
my
site,
collection
called
community
contributors,
the
one
we
just
saw
the
list
formatting
was
based
on
so
we're
pointing
at
that.
I'm
going
to
close
that
section.

If
I
wanted
to
sort
or
filter
I
could.
This
is
also
very
familiar
from
the
classic
days
of
sharepoint
and
the
original
content.
Query
web
part
we're
able
to
take
advantage
of
that
by
accessing
this
information
right
here
should
be
very
familiar
and
it's
very
easy
to
use.
If
it's
not
familiar,
it's
a
very
standard
way
of
sorting
and
filtering.
We
can
define
the
field
upon
which
we
would
like
to
sort
on
and
we
can
define
a
filter
as
well
as
additional
filters.

we're
able
to
see
all
of
our
fields
so
we're
going
to
scan
through
we're
going
to
grab
that
contributor
field,
and
we
see
that
the
web
part
is
auto
updating
for
us
as
we
select
those
fields
so
we're
going
to
come
down

we've
got
contributor
and
that's
really
all
we
need
is
contributor,
but
I'm
going
to
add
in
picture
and
I'm
going
to
add
in
title
just
to
show
some
comparison
and
contrasting
all
right.
So
I've
selected
those
we
see
that
information
is
showing
up
for
the
picture.

had
mentioned
that
we
have
handlebars
behind
the
scenes
and
that's
handled
by
the
template,
the
handlebar
template
for
our
content
and
you
can
access
that
directly
here
within
the
actual
web
part
itself.
We
click
that
edit
template
content
brings
up

template
for
us
and
we
can
see
here.
Like
I
mentioned,
you
don't
have
to
be
an
spfx
developer
at
all,
we're
just
talking
about
basic
html,
and
we
see
here.

I
mentioned,
there's
been
a
lot
of
requests
for
that
person
field
to
give
us
access
to
more
than
just
the
text
value
out
of
the
box
as
of
right
now
or
previous
today
I
should
say
it
would
give
us
access
to
just
this
text
value,
but
we
might
want
additional
information
about
the
person
things
like
email
or
picture,
or
maybe
display
name
like
we
see
here,
but
in
a
more
robust
way.
So,
if
I
hit
save
on
this,
we
can
see
that
it'll
refresh
everything's.

Still
the
same,
I'm
going
to
go
back
in
again
just
to
show
you
how
we
can
edit
this
and
make
changes
on
the
fly,
I'm
going

remove
those
three,
those
three
cells
and
I'm
just

to
paste

some
content-
we're

we

want

get
overwhelmed

feeling

have

done,
though,

we've
changed.

got

gone
bye-bye
and
now
we're
referencing
a
new
feature.

been
added
called
person
value
because
it's
a
person
field
and
we
can
reference
things
like
display,
name
all
right.
So
I'm
going
to
hit,
save
and
we're
going
to
see
now
it
shows
contributor
and
it
shows
display
they're
not
that
much
different
right,
but
I
can
also
come
back
in
and
access
additional
information
like
the
email
address
now
remember
we
were
seeing
this
before,
but
it
was
showing
on
individual
columns.

have
had
additional
columns
that
show
things
like
the
picture
or
the
email
address,
and
so
now
that
I've
added
contributor,
dot
person
value
dot,
email
I
can
hit
save
and
bam.
We
see
the
email
showing
up
now.
This
is
a
far
cry
this
design
here
with
this
big
orange
box
and
just
simple
list,
it's
a
far
cry
from
the
design
that
we
had
within
the
polaroids.
We
still
want
to
see
it
get
a
little
closer
to
that
design,
because
we
do
want
to
have
a
nice
robust
experience
for
our
users.

reference
external
handlebar
templates.

no

you

to
be
able

help
users

adopt
sharepoint

amazing

is
just
a
brief
overview
of
what
the
sharepoint
success
site
is
so
bear
with
me
for
a
couple
slides
then
I'll
quickly,
move
into
a
demo
to
to
show
you
the

site,
and
then
we
can
talk
or
I'll
point
you
to
how
to
get
it
and
how
to
get
going
in
terms
of
implementing
the
sharepoint
success
site
all
right.
So,
first,
let
me
talk
a
little
bit
about
who
this
is
built
for
and
how
it
will
help
them.

There's
two
personas,
the
first
being
an
admin
or
the
service
owner
of
sharepoint
or,
more
broadly
speaking,
collaboration
in
an
organization
as
well
as,
of
course,
users
or,
more
specifically,
in
some
cases,
site
owners.
So
let's
talk
about
the
sharepoint
service
owner
and
what
this
success
site
will
help
them
with
we've
spoken
to
a
lot
of
customers,
a
lot
of
service
owners
and
heard
some
pretty
consistent
themes
in
terms
of
where
they
wanted
some
help
to
help
drive
adoption
of
sharepoint
in
their
organization.

So
that's
what
we're
focused
on
here,
helping
the
sharepoint
service
owner
realized
more
value
from
the
investments
that
they've
made
in
sharepoint
to
help
them
enable
employees
and
users
to
create
sites
that
are
purposeful,
that
are
used
by
others
that
are
high
quality,
as
well
as
being
compliant
with
whatever
site
usage
policies
might
be
in
place
within
the
organization,
so
that's
really
the
the
service
owner
and
then
in
terms
of
users
and
or
site
owners.
Specifically
it's
to
address
those
two
questions
you
can
see
at
the
bottom
of
the
slide.

that's
where
the
sharepoint
success
site
comes
into
play,
it's
a
ready
to
implement
up-to-date
customizable
sharepoint
online
site
that
helps
organizations,
drive
adoption
and
realize
value
from
sharepoint
online.
This
is
a
solution
that
does
require
microsoft,
365
learning
pathways
as
a
prerequisite,
so
you
have
to
have
that
installed.

why
did
we
build
a
success
site
when
we
already
have
learning
pathways?
Well,
we
did
hear
from
customers
that
they
wanted
something
that
goes
deeper
than
what
learning
pathways
provides
learning
pathways
for
sharepoint,
specifically,
it's
you
know
very
intended
to
be
high
level
and
then
to
target
site
owners.
More
specifically,
that's
where
we
created
this
sharepoint
success
site,
so
we
go
deeper
in
terms
of
creating
sharepoint
sites
and
solutions,
I
would
say,
probably
about
level
200
level
300
as
well.
We
also
talk
about
the.

Why
and
the
what
how
to
create
great
sites
like
putting
the
technology
aside
and
how
to
configure
a
site
a
page,
but
what
makes
a
great
sharepoint
site.
So
that's
really
the
focus
of
the
sharepoint

site
and
a
couple
things
just
to
point
out
what
I
think
makes
the
sharepoint
success
site,
something
that
you
should
consider
as
as
part
of
your
set
of
tools
to
to
use
is
it
offers
training
on
what
makes
a
great
site
and
how
to
build
it
in
sharepoint
online?

It's
using
the
content
that
we
have
available
on
support.office.com
and
docs.microsoft,
but
we're
bringing
it
into
your
tenant
so
that
you
can
customize
that
training
content
to
suit
your
environment,
how
you've
implemented
sharepoint
and,
at
the
same
time
benefit
from
the
microsoft
curated
and
maintained
content
side
by
side,
with
whatever
custom
content
you
may
need
for
for
your
implementation,
a
second
on
how
it
all
works.
If
you've
seen
learning

it's
very
similar,
so
the
content

the
left
hand
side
that's
available
within
support
and
docs.
We
bring
that
into
a
github

that

that's

the

how
we
bring
it

how
at
least
the
microsoft
curated
content
remains
up
to
date
and
don't
forget
very

going
to
be
helpful
and
then
we
do
suggest
bringing

part
where

community
in

is
set
up.
For
your
site
owners
or
end
users
for
for
sharepoint,
so
this
is
where
they
can
come
and
ask
questions
share.

but

to
