in
the
next
couple

bookmarks
apis
was
another
api
set.
That
was
in
preview
for
quite
a
long
time
over
the
last
two
to
three
years,
and
it
was
just
available
for
windows
and
mac.
So
we
have
now
extended
that
support
to
web.
It
is
still
part
of
the
preview
apis,
there's
no
new
functionality
here,
it's
just
the
same
performance
apis
that
were
already
there
in
preview,
but
now
they
just
work
on
web
as
well.
So
we
are
at
a
point
where
it
is
ready
to
to
get
to
ga.

we
just
need
your
feedback
and
support
to
make
sure
that
hey.
This
is
working
as
expected
on
on
the
platforms
that
you
need
it,
and
once
once
we're
satisfied
with
with
the
partner
feedback

we're
getting

the

next
capability
is
shared
runtime
support
so
for
folks
that
are
accustomed
to
this
on
excel.
This
is
going
to
be
very
exciting
for
for
people
on
word
as
well,
so
we
have
extended
shared
runtime
to
word.
It
is
now
in
preview
for
windows
and
mac,
and
it's
on
its
way
for
web,
just
in
the
coming
weeks,
we're
just
finishing
out
rolling
our
last
couple
items
there
so
for
folks
that
aren't
quite
used
to
it
this.

is
essentially
going
to
have
limitless
benefits,
especially
in
the
future,
when
some
of
these
other
ux
features
that
that
rely
on
shared
runtime
will
be
ported
over
to
word,
but
for
the
shared
runtime
feature
in
itself,
you
can
do
things
like
show
and
hide
your
task
pane,
and
now
you
can
just
call
apis
even
when
your
task
pane
is
hidden.
So
I
know
a
lot
of
people
have
been
having
issues
with
their
users
trying
to
minimize
or
close
the
task
pane
and
that
essentially
shuts
your
entire
ad
in
down,
but
with
shared
runtime.

this
is
still
based
on
per
document
and
the
document
needs
to
be
opened
once,
but
after
it's
opened
once
there,
there
is
a
opportunity
for
you
to
change
a
setting
using
an
api
call
that
allows
you
to
to
set
that
hey
for
this
document,
every
single
other
time
that
the
user
opens
this
document,
I
want
my
add-in
to
automatically
run
as
soon
as
the
document
is
open.
So
all
these
capabilities
and
more
details
can
be
found
in
the
resources
that
I've
linked
there.
Please
be
aware
that
most
of
this
is
still
for
availability.

still

say
that
it's
only
for
excel
and
powerpoint.
We
are
working
on
fixing
that
up,
but
do
go
ahead

it
out
for
windows

mac

functionality

those
were
the

main
functionalities
that
are
now
available

this
is
how
we
determine
how
to
work,
which
things
to
work
on
from
from
the
devil
community,
like
yourselves,
through
partner
engagements
and
through
the
feedback
that
we
get
from
the
community
right.
So
what
we
first
released,
there
were
some
critical
word
online
apis
for
comments
and
bookmarks
as
well
as
for
footnotes.

We
understand
that
that
the
the
word
online
apis.
They
specifically
have
some
workarounds,
at
least
for
now,
on
win32
and
mac,
using
the
oxml
apis.
So
that's
why
we
wanted
to
first
release
them
out
for
online,
get
people
unblocked
to
there
and
then
take
a
step
back
and
see
if
we
need
to
continue
to
to
include
them
for
windows
and
mac,
so
that
was
the
thinking
around
having
the
the
online
only
apis,
and
then
we
we
switched
our
focused
a
little
bit
to
the
citation
management
scenario.

a
few
of
the
apis
that
are
out
now,
including
shared
runtime
and
footnotes,
are
focused
around
that
scenario,
and
we
still
have
a
few
apis
that
we're
working
on
currently.
So
this
includes
track
changes,
support
and
fields
api,
so
both
track
changes,
support
and
fields
api.
We
are
approaching
it
as
that
we
need.
We
need
to
have
support
across
all
three
platforms.
So
when
we
get
to
a
release
date,
it
will
include
support
across
windows,
mac
and
web.

are
the
ones
currently
in
development,
so
keep

eye
out
over
the
next
three
to
six
months
and
and
we'll
have
preview
ready

those
apis

in
the

have
already
started
some
investigation
around
the
writing
assistance
scenario,

Firstly,
we've
created
mailbox,
1.9
apis
on
the
new
outlook
for
mac,
and
then
I
want
to
talk
about
the
upcoming
mailbox,
1.10
signature
apis
and
the
even
paste
outlook
add-ins
that
we
will
soon
be
supporting
on
outlook
for
mac.

we
released
the
new
outlook
for
mac
last
year
and
since
then,
the
our
extensibility
team
has
been
working
on
bringing
support
in
the
new
outlook
for
mac
to
parity
with
the
old
outlook.
So
we
did
add
that
support
till
1.8
mailbox
in
the
new
outlook
for
mac
somewhere
about
me.
And
since
then
our
current
focus
is
to
bring
all
the
support.
That's
there
for
outlook
on
the
web
and
on
windows
to
mac,
so
that
we
make
that
platform
truly
cross
endpoint
right,
like
we
promised
to.

we
are
happy
to
announce
that
we
have

the
mailbox
1.9
apis
on
outlook
for
mac
and
you
might
have
already
seen
a
deep
dive
into
each
of
these
apis
and
what
they
can
do
in
some
of
the
previous
calls,
since
they're
already
available
on
windows,
as
well
as
over
or
outlook
on
the
web.
So
I'll
quickly
do
a
recap
so
that
we
can
all
you
know
just
have
a
have
that
fresh
in
our
minds.
So
the
first
thing
that
we
have
in
mailbox
1.9
is
append
on
send.

This
allows
your
add-ins
to
essentially
append
text
or
html
whenever
a
user
sends
mail
or
appointment.
So,
for
example,
if
a
user
is
sending
mail
to
an
external
recipe
and
then
you
can
say,
add
a
disclaimer
automatically
when
the
user
clicks
it.
The
next
one
is
the
dialog
api,
where
we
have
a
message:
child
function,
which
now
allows
the
host
page,
such
as
the
task
pane
or
uls
function,
to
communicate
to
the
dialog
that
was
open
from
the
page.
So
previously
only
the
dialog
could
communicate
back
to
the
task
pane,
but
not
vice
versa.

So
this
is
where
the
child
gets
a
dialogue
back.
This
is
the
demo
for
displaying
a
message
that
already
exists.
So
when
you
click
that
item-
or
you
add
that
item
id
it
opens
it
up
and
it's
also
possible
to
create
a
new
display
message
asynchronously.
So
this
is
a
demo
for
making
that
async
call
and
they
should
open
up
a
new
message
form
for
the
user,
and
you
can
of
course
pass
the
subject
add
an
attachment.

a
body
within
that
same
call,
so
that's
on
the
1.9
apis
and
we
have
upcoming
support
for
the
mailbox
1.10
signature
apis.
We
are
presently
dog
fooding
this
for
the
new
mark.

We
expect
this

be
in
beta
insiders
by
end
of
october.
So
if
any

you

planning

try
these
out
or
have
already
implemented
this
on
windows

outlook
on
the
web,
please
do
try
it

mac
and
share
your

the
beta
channel
itself.

these
new
signature
apis
allow
you
to
essentially
override
any
native
signature
that
has
been
added
on
the
that
has
been
added
on
outlook,
so
the
add-in
can
essentially
set
a
signature
asynchronously
on
a
male
compose
or
an
even
compose,
or
also
get
the
composed
type
right.
So
you
can
ascertain
what's
the
mode
of
an
email
and
based
on
that
set
the
signature.

It's
also
possible
to
see
if
the
outlook
native
signature
is
enabled,
and
if
so,
you
can
also
go
ahead
and
disable
it
and
overwrite
it
with
the
set
signature
that
the
add-in
can
provide.
It's
also
possible
to
have
the
insight
notification
now,
which
is
a
clickable
notification
on
the
mail.
So
if
you,
if
we
use
a
clicks
that
notification,
it
can
go
and
open
the
task
page.

So
that's
all
possible
with
these
1.10
api
set
and
you
will
soon
have
that
support
coming
on
mac
as
well
event
based
outlook
add-ins,
I'm
sure
if
you
know
most
if
you've
been
attending
these
calls
in
the
recent
past.
This
has
been
a
really
exciting
launch
for
us
and
it's
a
completely
new
way
to
launch
add-ins
in
outlook
without
a
user
action.

So
up
until
now,
the
users
had
to
actually
go
and
click
on
an
add-in
button
to
open
either
a
task
pane
or
to
launch
a
url
inside
an
outlook,
but
with
even
paste
add-ins.
You
know
on
a
particular
event
the
add-in
can
auto-trigger,
so
there
is
no
user
input
needed.
It's
a
ui,
less
operation
and
elements
that
have
launched
via
events
do
not
need
to
have
a
ui
associated
with
them.
Of
course,
this
add-in
is
a
short
running
item.

We
have
a
fixed
time
interval
in
which
the
add-in
can
operate
and
presently
it's
supported
for
all
compose
modes.
So
the
events
that
will
be
available
with
the
mac
release-
that's
coming
up
will
be
the
on
new
message
compose
or
and
on
new
appointment
compose,
so
add-ins
can
auto-trigger
on
the
compose
of
new
message.
It
also
includes
a
reply
reply
all
of
forward
scenarios,
and
it
can
also
be
auto,
triggered
and
composition
of
a
new
appointment.

Now
there
are
some
manifest
changes
that
are
required
for
creating
these
event-based
add-ins
and
again,
I'm
doing
a
quick
recap
of
this.
I'm
sure
this
has
already
been
discussed.
Most
of
you
might
already
be
doing
this,
but
essentially
the
extension
point
that
has
been
added
is
the
launch
event
extension
point
on
the
manifest
which
defines
which
event
the
add-in
can
launch.
So
you
can
see
these
two
launch
event
types
on
the
top
screenshot
one
is
the
on
new
message
compose
and
the
other
one
is
the
on
new
appointment
organizer.

these
are
both
the
uncomposed
events
based
on
which,
if
this
is
mentioned,
then
your
adding
can
auto
trigger.
Then
we
also
have
the
runtime
element
specified,
which
talks
about
the
html
of
the
event-based
add-on.
So
for
mac
we
are
using
the
webview
runtime,
which
is
similar
to
what
was
being
used
for
outlook
on
the
web
and
for
outlook
desktop.

different,
you
have
a
js
runtime
that
needs
to
be
added,
but
for
mac,
whatever
has
been
added
for
outlook
on
the
web
will
also
function
as
it
is,
and
this
is
a
quick
demo
for
event-based
signature
add-ons.
So
we

signature
apis
in
this
demo
and
the
signature
apis
can
launch
on
a
new
mail
creation.
So
let's

loads

the
document
and

is
pretty
much

small

make

kinds
