A
Whenever
we
have
petitioners
we'd
like
to
advise
them
and
our
other
members
to
speak
directly
into
the
microphone,
we
need
to
record
two
minutes
for
legal
purposes,
and
this
is
the
only
way
we
can
pick
up
audio
good
afternoon
again.
Welcome
everybody.
The
Historic
Preservation
Commission
is
a
night
member
board
appointed
by
the
City
Council
and
serves
on
a
voluntary
basis
without
compensation.
D
A
D
E
A
If
you're
moving
and
second
is
there,
anyone
readiness
all
those
in
favor
of
the
adoption
of
the
minutes,
please
let
it
be
known
by
a
show
of
hands
Paul.
The
motion
carries.
Thank
you
very
much
as
we
begin
our
deliberation
this
afternoon,
we'd
like
to
call
upon
our
committee
members
for
their
reports,
and
we
will
have
a
revamping
of
a
historic
signed
program
that
committee,
the
members
of
Carole,
King
and
Dallas
Hamburg.
D
Will
see
Christie
included
the
diamonds
that
we've
been
talking
about,
I.
Think
one
of
the
questions
that
we've
been
talking
about
was:
will
we
accept
submissions
from
undesignated
properties
also
and
then
again
to
look
at
to
approve
the
artwork?
We
sent
the
artwork
back
to
Mid
State
to
do
a
little
fine-tuning
on
it,
so
you
also
have
that
in
your
packet
as
well,
the
signs
will
be
no
more
than
$50
at
this
point
and
we
don't
have
to
make
a
large
commitment
because
they're
the
way
things
are
set
up
at
this.
D
D
F
We
have
had
some
things
in
McGee,
Estates
and
Highland
Park
that
have
petitioned
and
been
granted
signs,
because
yeah
I
think
there
was
one
on
Allendale
or
fern
way
from
like
the
30s,
and
there
are
a
few
again.
But
you
know
that
goes
back
to
some
of
our
discussions
of
do
we
do
we
also
do
away
with
the
historic
building,
/
historic
district
sign,
which
I
think
we
should
I
think
we're
over
get
given
everyone
a
gold
star
if
you've
got
a
mucked
up
house
just
because
you're
in
a
district.
F
F
D
F
D
F
D
C
F
In
some
way
whether
it
means
it
needs
to
go
back
to
the
committee
or
if
we
have
a
process
where,
if
say
say,
I
need
to
replace
the
sign
on
my
house
right
and
you
know:
I
haven't
changed
the
windows
and
doors,
and
you
know
that
it
still
looks
like
it
did.
When
I
petitioned
for
my
sign
before
can
I
just
get
a
new
one,
I,
don't
I,
don't
know.
That's
yeah.
D
C
D
D
F
D
E
Me
ask
a
couple
of
questions
are
for
my
Chester
I'm
trying
to
understand,
and
we
we've
done
a
really
good
job,
I.
Think
of
trying
to
get
to
the
bottom
line
of
it.
I'm
look
trying
to
look
at
this
new
group.
That's
locally
designated
historic,
because
traditionally
you
had
already
been
in
a
district
on
a
race.
Now
we
are
saying
that
got
this
new
locally
designated
and
it
has
to
be
start
will
for
a
recommendation
from
this
body.
If
I
understand
it,
the
City
Council,
no,
no
see
that's
what
I'm
I'm
trying
to
understand.
D
F
F
E
C
F
E
E
F
Is
a
conversation
that
I
usually
have
with
people
I
mean
that
that
that
usually
that's
gonna
follow
the
staff
level
level.
Unless
someone
comes
in
and
wants
to
address
this
body
at
a
meeting,
that's
a
conversation
that
I
regularly
have
with
people
talking
about
what
local
designation
means
and
how
in
some
instances
it
might
be
more
beneficial
to
Percy
the
Alabama
register,
because
it
doesn't
place
restrictions
on
a
property
owner
which
are
beneficial
when
all
your
neighbors
have
the
same
restrictions,
but
it
can
be
it
can.
F
F
The
documentation
requirements
are
going
to
be
very
similar,
but
there
are
no
restrictions
placed
on
the
property
owner
with
that
designation
with
the
local
designation.
There
is,
you
know,
any
exterior
changes
subject
to
review
by
the
architectural
review
board
once
you
are
locally
designated,
so
it
just
doesn't
have
that
extra
piece.
You
know,
of
course,
if
I
get
on
the
Alabama,
Register
and
I
change
out
all
my
windows
to
vinyl
windows
and
I'm
not
going
to
meet
the
standards
for
the
sign
anyway.
So.
F
I
was
just
saying
you
know:
if
I'm
not
having
to
go
through
a
review
process.
I
could
have
my
house
on
the
Alabama
Register
get
my
designation
and
then
get
called.
You
know
window
world
to
come
in
and
put
some
vinyl
windows
in
and
apply
for
a
sign
here
and
I
wouldn't
meet
the
criteria
because
I
changed
out
my
windows
with
an
inappropriate
window.
So.
F
That's
the
question
my
understanding
years
ago
is:
the
same
program
was
started
to
try
to
promote
historic
properties
and
then,
some
years
after
that
something
happened.
Someone
came
in
with
a
house
that
used
to
be
a
historic
house,
but
it
didn't
look
like
a
historic
house
anymore
and
they
split
the
baby
and
came
up
with
historic
building
or
historic
district
signs
because
they
didn't
want
to
tell
anybody.
No,
you
can't
have
a
sign
because
you
don't
you're
not
up
to
snuff.
C
D
Most,
the
most
protection
on
a
property
is
with
the
local,
with
our
ordinance
with
our
city,
ordinance
that
gives
the
design
review
on
it
even
nationally,
even
if
their
structures
on
the
National
Register,
it
doesn't
have
as
much
protection
as
it
does,
with
the
mock-up
city
of
Montgomery,
local
designation
and
the
design
review
by
the
ARB.
So
so
next
step
present
a
motion
for
next
time.
I.
F
D
E
D
F
D
House,
because
this
is
I
mean
they
have
to
they
have
to
they
have
to
walk,
walk
it
through.
They
have
to,
you,
know,
buy
it.
This
is
not
something
that
they
receive.
They
actually
oh
I
want
a
sign
for
the
front
of
my
house,
so
I'm
going
to
you
know
it's
a
little
extra
effort
on
their
part,
but
it's
also.
E
Don't
see
the
benefit
of
having
an
undesignated
property
if
they
got
to
meet
all
the
requirements
they
can
get
designated
so
I,
don't
I,
don't
see
what
allowing
undesignated
properties
add
to
it
because
they
got
to
meet
the
same
requirements
like
I'll.
Get
it
now
your
main
bit,
you
would
be
to
get
designated
so
I,
don't
I,
don't
I,
don't
see
what
that
brings
to
the
game.
D
F
D
C
D
The
best
way
to
get
it
out,
yeah
I
mean
we
can
do
the
basic
social
media
through
the
neighborhood
associations,
which
actually
is
real
effective
because
they
kind
of
take
care
of
themselves,
but
then
I
think
the
property
owner
address
that
I
forgot
that
that's
still
and
you
usually
do
you
were
doing
that
annually
anyway.
Remember.
F
C
F
Well,
what
do
you
all
think
about
moving
this
to
a
award
twice
a
year
format?
You
know
that
well
what
meat
in
a
committee
and
not
in
an
open
to
talk
to
people
about
what
their
house
look
like,
but
they
need
to
submit
photos
or
I,
take
photos
and
put
together
a
package
that
gets
reviewed
by
a
committee
which
we
can
do
outside
of
a
public
hearing.
Let
them
know
if
they're
gonna
get
their
sign.
You
know
have
an
essentially
an
awards
program
twice
a
year
where
we
hand
those
out,
instead
of
doing
it.
D
D
F
D
Deadline
of
X-
yes,
for
that
yeah
that
makes
sense
okay,
I
was
I,
was
thinking
that
you
know
every
month.
We
would
have
you
know
ten
or
twelve,
that
needed
to
be
looked
at
in
approved,
but,
okay,
we
wouldn't
have
to
bring
you
even
recommendations.
You
feel
like
that.
It's
right!
It's!
Okay!
Do
it
within
a
committee
yeah,
that's
a
good
idea!
Okay,
all
right!
So
what
we
will
do
is
do
a
little
recompiling
and
then
bring
back
an
official
nominee.
An
official
motion
for
next
week,
I
mean
next
month-
is
that
good.
F
Artwork,
what
do
you
think
about
how
the
sign
looks
current?
We
went
with
a
we
had
earlier
discussions
about.
This
was
a
good
time
to
change
the
logo
because
we
use
the
fountain
landmarks.
Foundation
uses
the
same
thing
exactly,
and
the
Public
Art
Commission
is
also
using
the
fountain
as
their
emblem.
So
we
went
with
a
kind
of
a
stylized
portico
of
city
hall.
C
C
B
E
D
A
D
Driving
this
the
price
points
driving
this,
because
these
are
at
the
most
fifty
dollars.
She
said,
it'd
be
be
between
45
and
50
dollars,
and
it
would
you
know
it's
the
same
format
of
existing.
In
other
words,
if
someone's
got
it
in
a
certain
place
on
their
house
on
a
pier
something
like
that,
you
know,
I
mean
this
would
be
the
you
know,
the
the
other,
the
law,
the
metal
ones,
get
really
pricey
and.
F
D
Takes
a
lot
when
we
were
exploring
all
that
that
takes
a
large
commitment,
in
other
words,
to
actually
do
the
cast
with
our
design.
You
know
we
would
have
to
commit
to.
You
know
100,
that
kind
of
thing,
it's
a
large
number
commitment
and
then
it
would
have
to
pass
the
cost
on
to
the
homeowner,
which
can
be
anywhere
from.
We
were
looking
at
175
to
250
dollars,
so
our
public.
It's
not
used
to
that
price,
because
I
think
the
existing
one
at
the
close
of
the
program
we're
winning,
was.
F
D
F
Mean
do
you
want
to
draft
a
motion
that
says
that
we
adopt
the
standards
and
spell
out
the
program.
Moving
forward
will
not
accept
applications
from
undesignated
properties.
You
know
how
all
the
warehouses
and
therefore
so
it's
very
clear
for
everybody
that
we're
or
do
you
want
to,
or
do
you
want
to
come
up
with
emotion
tonight.
B
C
B
After
month
after
month
and
there's
no
surefire
bet
we're
gonna
have
a
quorum
anytime
in
the
near
future,
but
we
got
one
tonight
I
think
if
there's
any
way
possible,
we
ought
to
say
that
we're
going
to
accept
this
proposal
tonight
and
it
is
to
be
implemented
by
the
staff.
These
are
the
terms
and
they
can
draft
it
and
we
can
come
back
put
a
rubber
stamp
on
it.
But
these
are
the
details
and
I'm
just
afraid
that
if
we
don't
do
it
we're
liable
not
to
meet
again.
C
E
A
A
A
E
A
And
and
and
I
just
want
to
commend
Commission's
from
the
man
for
that
observation,
we
need
to
do
as
much
as
we
can
right
now
with
what
we
have,
because
we
don't
know
what
tomorrow
holds
and
that's
very
true
we're
not
being
pessimistic
with
being
realistic.
We
don't
so
that's
reason,
I'm
asking.
Is
there
any
unread,
and
this
is
any
burning
question
that
anybody
has
regarding
this
report,
all
right,
all
those
in
favor?
Let
it
be
known
by
sir.
B
Chairman
I'd,
like
emotion,
that
the
Historic
Preservation
Commission
of
the
city
of
Montgomery
adopt
the
procedures
for
historic
building
markers
as
presented
to
us
this
evening,
and
that
the
historic
building
marker
program
be
reinstated
immediately
based
upon
these
terms
and
that
the
staff
of
the
city
implement
these
as
soon
as
practicable.
Okay,.
C
D
A
F
All
I
can
tell
you:
is
they
were
there?
The
six-month
delay
that
the
architectural
review
board
placed
on
their
demolition
request
expired
in
February
and
they
have
delayed
coming
back
each
meeting
since
then,
they're
still
discussing
options
with
landmarks,
Foundation
and
I
assume
the
Historical
Society
is
still
involved,
but
that
they
are
still
discussing.
So
at
this
point,
no
news
is
good
news.
A
F
F
C
F
I,
honestly,
don't
know,
what's
gonna
happen,
because
I
think
J
Wolf's
retirement
date
was
supposed
to
be
June
1st
and
we'll
be
beyond
his
tenure
by
that's.
My
next
deadline
is
June
1st
for
the
the
June,
a
RB
meeting.
So
I
don't
know
what
that
will
mean
if
they'll
decide
to
delay
until
someone
else
comes
in
place
or
if
he's
staying
longer,
because
well
kovetz
stuff,
our
priest
said
he
would
stay
longer
if
they
couldn't
get
a
new
priest
in
place
because
he
plans
to
retire
as
well.
F
So
I,
don't
know
how
all
this
other
stuff
is
is
playing
into
that.
Okay,.
A
A
C
A
A
A
D
My
flat
well
I'm
glad
we
got
the
historic
science
done:
I
hate
we
were
not
able
this
year
to
move
forward
on
our
awards
in
our
leadership
preservation,
Leadership
Institute,
but
you
know
I
kind
of
worked
out
anyway.
Didn't
work
out
true,
so
we
would
have
wouldn't
have
been
able
to
go
forward
with
that,
but
I
think
we
need
to
really
be
prepared
to
do
it
next
year,
but
I
also
think
that
we
have
leadership
at
landmarks
foundation
that
will
actually
be
very
supportive
joint
activities.
True.
A
D
A
A
And
I
just
like
to
add
regarding
that,
if
any
Commissioner
has
a
suggestion
for
someone
to
fill
the
vacancy
on
this
board,
if
you
mentioned
it
to
Christy-
and
we
go
from
there
on
that
point
to
make
certain
that,
though
we
don't
continue
with
vacancies,
if
you
know
where
I'm
coming
from
you
have
somebody
in
mind,
someone
been
approaching
you
about
serving
on
this
body.
If
you
just,
let
us
know
who
that
person
is
so
we
can
make
certain
that
we
get.
These
vacancies
filled
you
versus
wanted
by
council
district.
B
D
E
D
D
F
B
C
C
A
F
They
do
like
they,
they
do
with
our
ARB
appointments.
They
pull
someone
out
of.
They
pull
a
rabbit
out
of
the
Hat
that
we've
never
heard
so
I
know.
Tracy
Larkin
had
someone
he
had
considered
and
he's
had
some
health
issues
this
spring.
So
yeah
I'll
follow
up
with
him
to
see
if
we
can
get
that
and
I
talked
to
her
doctor.
Davis
Dunbar
was
someone
that
Tracy
wanted
to
appoint
to
this
body.
A
Okay,
let
me
just
think
of
this
body
for
excuse
me
nominating
me
again
as
chair
and
I
want
to
ask
this
body.
What
is
your
position
and
Krista
did
not
ask
the
question
to
you
regarding
our
leadership
class
for
next
year.
Does
this
body?
Are
you
interested
in
having
a
leadership
class
next
year
and
Krista?
What
is
the
possibility?
What
do
we
need
to
do
right
now,
if
we're
interested
in
going
in
that
direction?
A
F
F
But
I
also
don't
want
to
be
the
one
teaching
all
of
them,
except
for
the
one
you
do
on
history,
so
it's
just
I
was
completely
just
wiped
out
last
spring
with
that
and
and
ending
with
the
awards
program.
So
it's
not
something
that
I've
been
really
excited
about,
taking
on
without
a
lot
more
support.
Well,.
F
F
B
D
Need
to
follow
through
cliche,
but
she
filled
it
up
it.
You
filled
it
up.
The
Institute
at
32
at
30,
also
yeah
yeah.
So
we
took
our
max
we
maxed
out
yeah,
which
is
a
good
number.
That
was
a
good
number,
but
there
could
be
other
formats.
There
could
be
other
some
other
types
of
things
to
complement
things,
so
I
think
that's
to
discuss
now
in
the
planning
a
planning
period.

D
We
haven't
even
mentioned
that
that
a
is
preservation
month,
so
we're
running
social
media
on
before
and
afters
here
in
town
and
then
what
we're
doing
it
through
landmarks
is
that
we're
taking
the
we
solicited
through
the
love
letters
and
then
people
sent
to
us
just
little
paragraphs
and
photographs
of
some
of
their.
You
know
favorite
places
in
might
gummy
that
we've
been
putting
up
to
so.
If
you're,
not
a
friend,
follow
us
on
Facebook
and
you'll
you'll
be
seeing
through
old
Alabama
town.
D
To
that
that
we're
getting
a
lot
of
good
feedback
on
so
and
it's
things
that
people
don't
think
about,
you
know
it's
someone
sent
Normandale
someone's
had
sent
Eastbrook
like
they
said
oak
park,
someone
sent
their
favorite
water
tower,
so
they're,
just
things
that
are
that,
are
you
know
landmarks
in
people's
hearts?
They
don't
have
to
be
the
capitol
or
something
big
and
fancy.
But
you
know
it's
been
interesting,
so
I
think
you
will
to
enjoy
that
and
we're
getting
a
lot
of
good
okay.
B
B
In
my
tenure
as
head
of
tho
Cloverdale,
Association
I've
met
with
the
owner
on
several
occasions
and
nothing.
He
is
disgusting
ever
come
to
fruition.
It's
sad
I,
don't
know
what
to
do
the
people
in
our
community.
The
number
one
complaint
we
have
is
random
gunfire.
The
number
two
complaint
we
have
is
that
strip
of
buildings
on
Fairview
Avenue
that
were
beloved
for
generations
is
a
very
vibrant
commercial
district
and
to
see
half
of
it
just
rocked
and
now
ceilings
collapse
is
just
sad.
Do.
F
Will
try
to
put
together
something
revamp?
We
had
a
brochure
on
the
sign
on
the
side
program
before
I'll
see
how
wait
that
needs
to
be
tweaked
and
see
if
I
can
come
up
with
something
that
we
can
send
out
property
owners
and
may
ask
y'all
to
bless
that
made
you
it
by
email.
In
case
we
don't
have
a
pool
because
it's
not
really
anything
an
official
action.
It's
just
it's
just
kind
of
feedback
on
materials
being
produced.
So
oh
I
will
work
on
some
of
that
I'm.
