B
A
C
Good
morning,
let's
pray
together,
father
god
we
thank
you
for
this
day
and
I
thank
you
for
each
one
of
these
leaders
in
psalms,
25,
verses,
4
and
5.
The
prayer
there
is
to
show
me
the
right
path,
o
lord,
to
point
out
the
road
for
me
to
follow,
to
lead
me
by
your
truth
and
to
teach
me
for
you
are
the
god
who
saves
me
and
all
day
long.
C
C
This
role
they
serve
is
hard
filled
with
criticism
and
intensity,
and
pressure
so
help
them
to
be
fully
alive
in
service
to
the
state
by
using
the
very
things
you've
equipped
them
with
from
their
education
and
practical
experiences
to
their
knowledge
in
business,
finance
and
law.
Take
all
that
they
have
encountered
blended
with
every
passion
and
sacred
interest
of
the
heart
and
use
that
for
the
good
of
our
state.
I
pray
hold,
bless
and
encourage
these
leaders
for
answering
this
calling
to
serve
and
bless
our
great
state.
We
pray,
amen.

F
Thank
you,
madam
president,
we're
down
to
almost
the
end
of
women's
history
month,
and
I
wanted
to
mention
some
people
that
were
absolute
nevada
pioneers
in
some
areas.
The
first
I
want
to
bring
to
everybody's
attention
is
barbara
vukonovic.
F
F
I
think
I'd
like
to
get
on
the
record-
and
that
is,
is
a
quote
from
the
eulogy
when
she
passed
away
at
age
91,
but
barbara
vukonovich
was
the
matriarch
of
her
political
generation,
nevada's
silver,
lady,
first
and
foremost,
however,
barbara
was
a
wife,
mother,
grandmother
and
great-grandmother
her
family
was
always
her
priority,
even
as
she
served
the
entire
nevada
family
in
the
united
states
congress,
and
I
had
the
great
opportunity
of
getting
to
know
her
in
in
my
political
career.
F
Next
would
be
her
daughter,
another
nevada,
first
patty
cafarata
in
she
was
first
elected
to
the
nevada
assembly
in
1978,
but
in
1992
she
became
the
first
woman
elected
to
be
nevada,
state
treasurer
and
she
later
went
on
to
serve
as
district
attorney
in
three
nevada
counties.
So
she
is
also
quite
a
nevada
pioneer
she's,
also
quite
an
accomplished
author
and
nevada
historian,
and
of
course,
you
probably
will
see
here.
It
looks
like
the
building
is
getting
ready
to
open
up.
F
F
Her
mother
raised
her
for
almost
her
whole
life
in
a
single
white
trailer,
single
mom
and
a
single
white
trailer.
She
remembers
growing
up
frequently
eating
pancakes
for
three
meals
a
day
for
days
of
the
time.
While
she
waited
for
her
mom's
check
to
arrive,
she
would
buy
her
school
clothes,
which
were
very
limited
from
kmart.
F
Her
father
would
call
and
promise
to
show
up
on
a
certain
day
at
a
certain
time,
and
this
little
girl
would
get
all
dolled
up
and
wait
for
the
hour
and
then
in
anxious
anticipation,
we'd
go
out
in
front
of
the
trailer
in
the
trailer
park
and
watch
for
her
dad
and
in
too
many
cases
she
would
wait
and
wait.
And
finally,
her
mom
would
come
out
and
bring
her
in
the
house
and
assure
her
that
something
very
important
must
have
come
up
for
her
dad
not
to
show
up.
F
Wasn't
all
doom
and
gloom
and
about
her
junior
year
her
dad
as
he
would
have
told
you,
through
the
inter
invention
of
the
lord
jesus
christ,
was
able
to
overcome
his
alcoholism
and
for
the
remaining
24
years
of
his
life.
He
was
a
very
good
father
to
her.
She
also
had
a
tremendous
advantage
as
she
got
older.
She
had.
She
was
a
natural
beauty.
She
was
a
very
beautiful,
physically
beautiful
person,
and
not
only
did
she
have
a
beautiful
appearance,
she
had
a
beautiful
personality,
even
a
magnetic
personality.
F
Anyone
that
met
this
person
finds
her
to
be
just
one
of
those
kind
of
people
that
attracts
you
to
her.
She
in
her
senior
year
was
in
fact
elected
homecoming
queen
by
her
high
school
student
body
and
later
that
year,
in
her
senior
class,
picked
her
to
be
personality.
Best
personality
of
the
class
in
her
senior
year,
she
also
met
a
young
man
and,
after
high
school
a
couple
years
out
of
high
school
they
married
and
she
became
the
mother
of
four
sons
and
four
daughters.
F
She
is
currently
the
grandmother
of
20
children
and
her
pioneer
aspects
from
nevada.
She
was
elected
to
the
nevada
legislature
for
the
first
time
in
2018,
and
so
that
makes
her
one
of
the
first
members
of
the
first
female
majority
legislature,
she's
also
half
of
another
kind
of
first
she's,
the
first
female,
to
serve
concurrently
with
her
husband
in
the
nevada
legislature.
At
the
same
time,
and
there's
at
least
one
nevada
state
senator
who
still
thinks
she's
the
most
beautiful
woman
on
the
whole
planet.
F
And,
of
course,
if
you
haven't
figured
it
out,
I
am
talking
about
assemblywoman,
alexis,
lloyd,
hanson
of
district
32,
who
is
an
absolutely
phenomenal
example
of
how
a
a
truly
great
nevada,
pioneer
woman,
and
so
would
you
would
you
please
join
me
now
in
giving
these
three
great
nevada
pioneer
women,
a
good
round
of
applause
for
so
that
they've
thoroughly
earned?
Thank
you.
G
Thank
you
president.
I
just
wanted
to
take
a
brief
point
of
personal
privilege
to
congratulate
robert
and
janice
ready
on
the
date,
the
58th
anniversary
of
their
wedding
anniversary.
Today
they
have
been
tremendous
parents
who,
in
that
marriage,
have
survived
wonderful
joys
and
sorrows,
budgeting
and
raising
children.
G
H
You
worked
throughout
high
school
and
earned
a
bachelor's
degree
and
at
the
university
of
california
berkeley
with
the
help
of
scholarships,
pell
grants
and
student
loans.
After
two
years
in
the
peace
corps,
you
were
teaching
high
school
in
kenya,
which
is
something
I
didn't
know.
After
all,
the
conversations
that
we've
had
and
you
returned
to
earn
a
law
degree
from
berkeley.
H
Then
you
chose
public
service
in
the
u.s
department
of
justice
in
1997,
you
were
recruited
by
attorney
general
frankie,
sue
del
poppa
to
lead
the
justice
department
and
come
to
nevada
to
set
up
the
state
anti-trust
office
as
a
senior
deputy
attorney
general.
You
joined
the
multi-state
prosecution
of
toys,
r
us,
which
was
a
price
fixing
scheme
and
ensured
that
the
merger
of
lucky
s
and
albertson's
grocery
stores
in
las
vegas,
didn't
lead
to
a
loss
of
union
jobs.
H
You
were
elected
the
state
treasurer
in
2006
and
re-elected
in
2010.
as
a
treasurer.
You
got
rid
of
no
bid
contracts
and
off
the
book
accounts
and
reduce
spending
and
making
government
more
efficient.
During
the
economic
downturn
in
2009,
you
successfully
managed
nevada's
investments
so
that
they
earned
money
every
single
quarter.
H
H
You
currently
serve
on
the
board
of
united
way
of
southern
of
northern
nevada
and
you
recently
ran
your
own
legal,
consulting
business
as
well.
You
were
sworn
in
in
january
of
2019
as
lieutenant
governor
and
you
are
a
member
of
the
governor's
system,
cabinet
and
service
president
of
our
state
senate.
Thank
you.
So
much
for
all
you
do
every
day
for
us
and
in
this
women's
history
month
we
feel
like
it's
important
to
honor
you
as
well.
So
thank
you.
