Mcgillivray
here
jackson,
absent
with
notice
nelson
here
cabell
here
angel
here
here,
woodward
will
be
joining
us
gershon.
D
A
A
A
E
Okay,
all
right
and
with
the
understanding
that
at
least
one
of
those
will
be
pulled
from
the
consent
agenda,
so
we
can
discuss
it.
I
am,
I
don't
have
any
further
changes.
A
A
F
Yeah
good
morning,
everyone,
so
this
is
actually
an
amendment
to
an
existing
grant
that
we
already
receive,
but
due
to
nurses
and
making
sure
they
have
the
correct
technology
that
we
get
reimbursed
for
our
salary
times
our
salary
and
fringes
that
we
were
preceptors
for
these
nurses
that
are
in
school.
We
just
are
increasing
the
amount
we're
receiving
for
this
grant.
So
again
the
grant
was
already
approved
and
the
work
is
already
being
done.
E
Yeah,
are
there
any
outcomes
this
program
started
in
what
last
year?
Sometime?
Do
you
have
any
outcomes
or
any
documents
on
outcomes
for
this
program.
F
I
can
talk
to
our
team
about
this.
What
I
have
seen
is,
we
have
actually
hired.
I
think
it
was
one
or
two
nurses
from
this
program
after
being
precepted
as
actually
coming
into
our
public
health
program,
so
I
can
check
on
those
statistics
and
exactly
you
know
what
the
outcomes
are.
A
A
A
B
All
right
perfect
well
today,
before
you
is
the
there's,
a
grant
application
with
the
michigan
department
of
corrections
for
the
community
corrections
comprehensive
plan
for
fiscal
year
fy23.
B
B
The
the
total
amount
of
funding
requests
in
this
application
is
two
million
twenty
two
thousand
five
hundred
fifty
three
dollars
and
it'll
be
for
obviously
the
fiscal
year
starting
october,
1
2022
through
september
30th
2023,
and
it
would
fund
13
full-time
eligible
positions
in
one
part-time
non-eligible
position
within
the
community
corrections,
division
and
also
partially
or
50
funds
to
positions
within
community
corrections
that
the
50
funded
by
the
state
and
50
funded
by
the
county.
Again,
that's
a
continuation
budget.
B
These
are
things
that
have
been
in
place
for
many
years,
and
one
change
is
that,
with
the
decline
in
the
jail
population
over
the
last
few
years,
we
are
seeking
funding
for
two
positions
with
full-time
positions.
B
Excuse
me
with
the
sheriff's
office
that
is
a
reduction
of
one
position
and
depending
on
our
award,
we
would
then
reduce
that
that
one
position
through
attrition,
let's
see
the
grant
application,
has
gone
through
the
grant
review
process
in
accordance
with
the
grant's
policy,
has
been
approved
by
the
board
and
the
community
corrections
advisory
board,
and
this
again
is
under
public
act,
511
of
1980,
which
requires
that
the
county
board
or
boards
of
commissioners
shall
approve
the
proposed
comprehensive
plan.
C
A
G
Morning,
so
this
is
a
new
grant
application,
it's
actually
in
partnership
between
the
sheriff's
office
and
the
prosecuting
attorney
and
the
atf,
which
is
the
bureau
of
alcohol,
tobacco
and
firearms
and
explosives.
So
we're
asking
for
a
little
over
691
thousand
over
three
years.
We
would
create
a
deputy
two
and
in
the
sheriff's
office
and
a
paralegal
in
the
prosecutor's
office,
and
this
is
to
address
firearm
related
crime
in
the
city
of
pontiac.
A
Thank
you.
Are
there
any
questions,
commission
or
chair
woodward,
followed
by
commissioner.
H
C
H
Of
canada
there's
a
lot
of
like
work
going
on
trying
to
I
mean
address,
I
mean
some,
I
mean
obviously
recent
events
but
try
to
address
some
of
the
systemic
conversations
and,
in
the
in
that
process
like
well,
what
type
of
like
violent
crime?
What
type
of
crime
are
we
trying
to
like
strategically
go
after?
Is
it
gang
violence?
Is
it
domestic.
E
I
I
So
what
we've
been
doing
is
kind
of
a
data
driven
approach
where
we're
taking
information,
we're
already
working
in
cooperation
with
two
atf
agents
that
are
assigned
out
of
the
city,
but
they're,
obviously
tasked
out
out
of
their
main
field
office
in
detroit,
but
we're
taking
this
data
and
we're
utilizing
that
to
determine
those
responsible
for
the
for
the
majority
of
our
gun
violence
and
do
a
directed
approach
to
help
basically
stop
the
shooting
cycles
to
take
these
illegal
guns
off
the
street
to
knock
down
our
violent
crime.
I
Currently,
we've
been
doing
that
since
about
october,
working
in
collaboration
with
the
atf
and
we've
between
state
and
federal
partners.
We've
arrested
61
gang
members
for
weapons
related
offenses
and
we'd
like
to
continue
that
momentum.
This
month
we
had
five
homicides
this
year.
I
believe
three
of
them
were
gun,
gun
related,
but
this
month
we
had
none
so
hoping
to
to
keep
that
momentum
going
to
reduce
gun
violence.
Great.
E
I
I
Yeah,
I
don't
know
how
in
depth
you
want
me
to
go,
but
basically
we
we
use.
We
track
the
firearms
that
are
used.
You
know,
through
through
examination,
we
can
track
what
firearms
are
used
at
certain
scenes
and
see
if
they're
related
to
other
shooting
incidents
and
develop.
What's
called
the
nibin
pattern
to
see
if
there's
these
guns
are
used
in
other
other
shootings
and
that's
run
by
atf,
and
they
we
provide.
Obviously
we
provide
our
lab.
Does
the
testing
submits
it
to
atf
and
they
provide
they?
J
You,
madam
chair,
I
was
just
going
to
say
a
couple
things.
First,
thanks
for
your
service.
Thank
you.
Many
of
us
were
here
when
we
helped
to
put
the
sheriff's
office
in
the
city
of
pontiac
and
there's
been.
You
know
great,
a
lot
of
effort
going
on
there,
drug
bust
crackdown
on
crime
and
there's
still
more
work
to
do,
and
it's
not
just
pontiac.
I
remember
looking
at
the
gang
infrastructure
and
seeing
it
come
up
to
lake
orient
oxford,
rochester
hills.
So
it's
it's
bigger
than
just
pontiac.
It's
us
together!
A
A
A
G
Thank
you
for
staying
okay,
so
this
is
our
annual
grant
application
for
the
auto
theft
team.
Through
the
atpa
automobile
theft
prevention
authority,
we're
asking
for
around
2.2
million,
it
has
a
50
match.
This
is
it
continues
13
positions,
eight
of
those
are
in
oakland
county,
including
one
position.
That's
contracted
with
the
city
of
pontiac,
the
other
five
positions
are
in
royal
oak
detroit
hazel
park,
south
field
in
farmington
hills
and
each
of
the
locals
paid
their
portion
of
the
match.
So
this
is
just
a
continuation
that
we've
been
doing
for
years.
A
G
You
okay,
so
this
is
the
annual
haida
acceptance,
these
positions
work
in
the
lab
and
do
firearms
testing,
so
it
continues
two
part-time
non-eligible
lab
technicians.
G
H
It's
do
do
we
get
grant
fundings
support,
almost
all
the
lab
operations
or
how
much
and
what's
the
split
general
fund
to.
G
H
G
G
H
J
Commissioner,
gentile
yeah
I'll
just
add
on
to
that,
because
I
think
within
the
crime
lab
I
could
be
wrong,
but
I
think
there
are
services
that
we
provide
to
other
municipalities
outside
of
oakland
county
and
if
it's
a
backlog,
it's
not
just
a
backlog
for
us,
it's
a
backlog
for
the
region,
and
so
we
should
understand
it
and
figure
out
what
it
takes
to
fund
it.
A
Motion
carries.
Thank
you.
Our
next
item
is
an
interlocal
agreement
amendment
to
extend
the
fiscal
year,
2021
interlocal
agreement
with
oakland
community
health
network
for
medicaid
assistance,
treatment
and
jail
alliance
with
support
programming
positions
at
the
oakland
county
jail.
I
have
a
motion
by
commissioner
mcgilvery
support
from
commissioner
cabell.
G
Thank
you,
okay.
So
this
is
amendment
number
two
to
the
agreement.
Normally
we
do
a
year
at
a
time,
but
when
this
was
being
renewed,
they
had
several
leadership
changes
at
ochn,
so
they
wanted
to
get
a
grasp
on
the
program
and-
and
you
know,
see
how
it
was
working
and
have
that
discussion.
So
basically
it's
the
same
thing.
You
saw
six
months
ago
for
the
first
part
of
the
year
and
now
we're
continuing
funding
for
the
second
part
of
the
year.
So
the
positions
are
the
same.
Everything's
the
same.
A
C
A
J
I
was
just
going
to
say
I
appreciate
this
and
think
it's
important
now
that
paint
creek
actually
connects
the
polly
inn
trail
and
it
runs
for
a
significant
distance.
You
could
have
people
from
many
different
delegations,
etc
in
any
area.
Pollyanne
and
pink
creek
trail,
so
super
important
and
appreciate
it.
H
H
G
C
Yes,
I
know
it's
not
a
government
agency,
I
don't
know
if
it
is
a
non-profit,
but
it
is
its
own
entity
and
they
subcontract
with
the
parks
unit.
Thank
you
for
taking
care
of
cali
over
there.
She
ran
free
in
the
courthouse.
C
A
A
J
There
were
a
group
of
us
that
got
together
saved
the
program
by
saying
hey,
let
the
municipalities
pay
for
the
service
directly
if
they
still
want
the
service,
which
is
what's
been
occurring,
this
grant's
going
to
allow
those
municipalities,
some
financial
relief
on
a
2-1
measure
right
so
essentially
orient
township-
could
reduce
their
budget
somewhat
because
they're
going
to
subsidize
it
with
some
of
this
grant.
I
just
think
if
this
is
a
singular
year
grant.
J
H
If
I
say
something
wrong,
we
had
set
aside
150
000
in
last
budget
to
kind
of
figure
out
and
develop
a
program
to
address
this,
and
especially
in
areas
that
didn't
have
some
areas
of
I
mean
some
safety
concerns
that
people
in
the
community
and
residents
had
brought
up,
and
so
the
150
000-
and
I
think
I
mean
the
general
estimate
that
until
this
pot
of
money
gets
used,
it's
like
a
one-time
pop
right
now,
unless
we
put
more
money
into
it.
H
To
your
point,
I
think
communicating
that
we're
trying
to
be
able
to
bulk
up
some
capacity
to
be
able
to
pay
for
it,
but
then
the
flip
side
then
there's
capacity
issues.
We
have
actually
the
people
to
be
able
to
manage
all
the
hours
that
are
necessary
to
do
it.
So
it's
a
it's
it's
a
balancing
both
of
those
things,
but
communicating
that
there's
just
one
set
of
problems
this
pots
just
here.
If
we
see
value
in
it,
we
can,
of
course,
in
the
future,
add
money.
H
I
think
the
bigger
problem
that
we
have
to
figure
out
address
is
like
how
do
we
structurally
support
this,
and
I
know
that
we
have
the
conversation
on
a
regular
basis
of
voting
license
and
the
amount
of
money
that
comes
in
that
we
can
actually
help
support
our
marine
division.
Everything
is
we
have
the
most
voting
licenses
in
the
states
and
we
are
not
getting
our
appropriate
fair
share
for
all
of
that.
So
I
think
that
there's
a
potential
legislative
budget,
statewide
solution
to
figure
out
how
to
structurally
support
this
long
term.
E
Yeah,
maybe
steph
can
answer
this
or
chair
woodward,
the
the
criteria
here.
How
many
lakes
would
be
eligible
that
is
over
a
thousand
acres
and
multi-jurisdictional
one
one
lake
in
oakland
county
and
what
lake
is
that
cass.
E
L
J
I'm
terrorists,
I
have
a
question
sure
so
that
was
not
my
understanding.
So
is
there
something
that
I
see
kristen
nelson
authorized?
The
report
makes
sense
cass
lakes
in
her
district,
but
are
you
saying
that
my
district
oriented
who's
kept
the
program
alive
by
funding
it
directly
when
we
were
going
to
eliminate
the
program
in
its
entirety?
Now
could
get
no
benefit
from
this?
This
particular
grant
what
what
what
is
restricting
other
communities
from
being
able
to
take
advantage
of
the
hundred
and
fifty
thousand
dollars
that
doesn't
seem
very
fair.
C
L
Like
that
was
a
good
question:
okay,
so
the
multi-jurisdictions
is
the
factor.
When
we
reach
out
to
sheriff's
office,
they
told
us
that
you
know
they
contract
with
individual
communities.
Not
like
you
know
three
communities
as
one
and
to
my
understanding
the
cass
lake
is
under
three
or
even
four
jurisdictions,
and
there
was
an
issue
which
community
is
going
to
do
what
and
there
was
no
agreement
or
willingness.
So
the
this
possible
grand
matching
program
would
help
incentivize.
L
D
L
They
want,
it
was
part
of
the
previous
budget,
and
you
know
michael
andrews
is
the
budget
guru,
so
this
resolution
it
was
assigned.
It's
already
was
assignment
in
the
budget.
Now
we're
appropriating
it
to
the
board
of
commissioners
as
a
board
of
commissioners
project
or
initiative.
H
Chair
woodward,
so
in
the
last
budget
money
was
set
aside.
Money
was
assigned
to
support
a
matching
program
for
marine
patrol
that
wasn't
that
was
improving
the
budget.
So
that's
in.
D
C
D
L
No,
so
this
would
be,
as
a
resolution
stated,
for
a
three-year
contract.
If
there
was
a
you
know,
interest
and
ability
for
the
local
municipalities
to
choose
one
representative
of
the
jurisdiction
of
the
cass
lake,
which
would
now
will
later
reach
out
to
sheriff's
office.
To,
for
you
know,
regular
agreement
that
sheriff's
office
provides
other
municipalities
with,
and
it
will
be
two
to
one
dollar
match.
D
D
A
C
J
So
I
appreciate
that
so
I'll
be
specific
about
my
example:
lake
orion,
it's
under
a
thousand
acres,
so
they
wouldn't
qualify
here.
So
that's
a
bad
qualifier.
In
my
opinion,
they
do
have
public
access
which
creates
the
need
for
patrol
and
safety
because
I
can
attest
public
access
means.
You
get
a
lot
of
people
on
the
lake
that
might
be
their
first
time
or
they
might
be
a
little
crazy.
They
don't
live
there.
J
The
other
thing
is
multi-jurisdictional
interactions,
so
lake
orient
is
split
between
the
village
of
lake
oregon
and
oregon,
township
technically,
but
orion
township
contracts
for
the
total.
Today,
with
the
cut
with
the
sheriff's
department.
So
technically
they
wouldn't
be
eligible
because
it's
not
two
jurisdictions
under
contract,
so
it
almost
looks
as
if
the
one
two
three
four
fifth
fifth,
whereas
was
written
so
specifically
that
at
the
end
of
the
day,
there's
only
one
lake
that
can
qualify
for
this,
and
I
guess
that's
that's
what
my
heartburn
is
appreciate,
commissioner,
bringing
this
out.
J
If,
if
the
committee
is
open
to
striking
the
thousand
acres
and
the
multi-jurisdictional
effort
and
says
hey
any
any
lake
in
oakland
county,
that
has
a
public
boat
access
can
qualify
for
this.
I
think
that's
more
than
fair
right
now.
This
looks
like
the
fixes
end
to
me.
To
be
honest,
so
madam
chair
I'll,
make
a
motion.
If,
if
there's
no
other
discussion
I'll
make
a
motion
for
an
amendment.
D
I
know
there
is
a
need
for
this
and
I
do
support
this,
but
I'm
open
to
an
another
resolution
or
looking
at
other
options
to
to
continue
the
funding
so
that
other
lakes
can
qualify.
I.
H
L
To
my
knowledge,
the
sheriff's
office
and
please
correct
me-
is
not
contracting
with
lakes
per
se,
but
communities.
So
in
theory
they
do
not
know
correct.
L
H
A
J
Yeah,
so
I
appreciate
the
resolution
100.
Do
I'm
just
wondering
if
you
struck
out
the
over
a
thousand
acres
in
multi-jurisdictional
multi-municipalities
jurisdiction
in
this
resolution?
It
would
it
would
let
everything
go
forward
and
have
an
open
boundary
for
us
to
decide,
because
the
other
qualifiers
are
that
those
communities
have
to
match
it.
Two
to
one.
I
guess
the
county
matches
it
two
to
one
to
the
municipality,
but
they
still
have
to
put
up
the
money
if
we
don't
change
this
resolution.
J
In
my
in
my
mind,
it's
sending
the
communities
that
stepped
up
and
kept
the
sheriff
patrol
program
alive
in
0810
and
that's
giving
cass
elizabeth
lake
this
option
today,
it's
giving
them
a
big
slap
in
the
face,
because
in
0.809
we
went
to
them
and
said
marine
patrol
is
going
away.
If
you
still
want
it
for
your
lakes,
you're
going
to
pay
for
it,
100
where
they
were
getting
it
for
free.
J
That's
why
we
still
have
a
marine
patrol
program
today,
right
and
now
to
turn
around
and
say:
hey
cass,
elizabeth
waterford.
Those
communities
chose
not
to
pay
for
it,
but
now
we're
going
to
give
it
to
them
with
the
two
to
one
match
from
the
county
and
you
lake
orion,
who
kept
it
alive,
have
no
option
to
get
grant
money.
J
That
seems
to
me
to
be
crazy,
and
so
my
my
amendment
that
I
just
suggest
we
consider
is
if
we
strike
out
the
thousand
acres
in
the
multi-municipal
jurisdiction-
and
we
say
it's
open
to
to
to
lakes
with
public
access,
there's
eight
of
them
and
you're
talking
about
upper
paddle
bone
lake.
The
big
ones
are
cass
elizabeth.
We
could
even
say
with
a
certain
number
of
public
access
slots
right,
because
those
are
the
bigger
lakes.
It's
lake
orion,
it's
cass,
elizabeth
yeah,
orchard
yep.
A
A
K
Well
for
the
I
have
a
question
I
guess,
for
anyone
who
has
the
answer
of
the
eight
public
access
lakes
are
any
of
them
other
than
apparently
cass
lake,
currently
not
patrolled
by
the
sheriff's
office
and
requesting
patrol.
Is
there
a
gap
in
service.
L
I
don't
know
if
they're
requesting,
but
there's
a
different.
I
think
issue
because
sheriff's
office
is
doing
amazing
job.
You
know
reacting
to
the
incidents
or
so
it's
like
a
jump
in
right
or
jump
on
services,
and
every
single
body
of
water
is
provided
that.
What
is
the
issue
here
or
like
there's
an
initiative?
L
It's
the
regularly
patrol
hour,
so
some
you
know
legs
or
body
of
waters,
would
prefer
to
have
a
regular
schedule
hour,
which
and
because
of
the
cards
that
commissioner
ganja
had
mentioned.
They
are
not,
as
many
as
you
know
would
be
appreciated.
So
this
is
like
sheriff's
office
provides
those
you
know
not
emergency,
but
you
know
the
the
requested
incidents
for
anyone
and
everyone.
It's
just
the
regular
petrols.
This
is
where
the
agreements
come
in
and
communities,
and
then
they
deal
with
sheriff's
office
how
many
hours
or
the
sheriff's
office
make
recommendation.
L
K
And
then
my
second
question
was
the
hundred
fifty
thousand
dollars,
because
I
hear
we
were
coming
from
commissioner
genji.
But
would
that
interfere
with
what
you
know?
The
cass
oakland
county
arrangement
for
150
thousand
dollars.
K
L
So
this
is
debatable,
but
sheriff's
office
you
know,
suggested
the
amount
of
hours
that
would
be
sufficient
for
cass
lake,
which
would
barely
cover
the
150
000
with
the
match
current.
It
should
be
within
the
15,
but
you
know
yes,
okay,.
D
That
was
exactly
my
reasoning
for
not
messing
with
this
one,
because
that
is
what
they
need
after
tremendo
a
lot
of
conversation,
but
again
I'm
open
to
looking
at
allocating
more
money
for
other
communities
for
sure.
But
this
this
50
000
a
year
was
decided
upon
by
extensive
conversations
with
the
marine
patrol
sheriff
and
all
the
communities.
So
I
don't
think
we
should
mess
with
this
one,
but
I'm
happy
to
look
at
another
one.
H
H
L
L
K
D
J
J
So
I'm
very
concerned
about
passing
this
today
and
I'm
concerned
about
the
specificity
of
over
a
thousand
acres
multi-minute.
I
mean
this
looks
like
it
was
written
for
a
very
specific
case
and
it
probably
was
okay,
but
it
doesn't
mean
that
the
people
that
have
been
brunting
the
load
of
it
should
see
this
and
feel
like
they're
getting
slapped
in
the
face.
J
C
Fair
enough,
it
is,
but
for
those
cases
like
those
lakes,
there
are
also
a
lot
of
marinas
on
that
lake,
which
bring
in
a
lot
of
boats
too.
So
you
need
to
look
at
that
as
well.
Public
access
certainly
is
important.
That
brings
more
people
out,
but
if
you
have
four
marinas
on
wall
lake
that
have
20
25
boats,
each
plus
each
residential
as
a
boat,
you
still
have
the
same
number
of
boats.
K
Thanks
chair
sorry,
for
running
up
my
mouth,
I
think
it's
also
worth
remembering
here.
This
community
asked
for
this
right
as
for
regular
patrol,
so
the
sheriff
is
already
handling
cases
on
every
lake
in
oakland
county.
This
instance
was
one
where
a
community
of
elected
of
an
elected
body
said
hey.
We
want
some
extra
help
on
a
regular
basis
county
commissioner
work
it
out.
J
I
think
that's
a
fair
point.
I
I
can
assure
you
that
if
orion
township
knew
that
a
two
to
one
match
was
available
and
they
could
save
money
this
year
on
marine
patrol
because
they've
been
having
to
fund
it
100
themselves,
I
assure
you
we
could
get
a
letter
from
their
officials
to
say
that
they'll
take
the
county's
money.
I
just
think
I
my
personal
opinion
is
that
we
should
almost
table
this
and
take
it
up
as
a
special
meeting
in
front
of
the
board
meeting.
J
J
K
G
Well,
depending
on
how
many
patrols
we
need,
because
obviously
the
the
boating
season
starts
at
the
end
of
may
usually
memorial
day
weekend,
so
there
may
be
a
delay
in
hiring.
We.
G
Laughing
we
have
to
open
this
up
right
because,
if
you're
gonna,
if
you're
gonna
give
money,
then
we
need
to
know
I
mean
because
obviously
then
we'll
have
to
estimate
how
many
staff
need
to
fill
it
and
how
many
we
would
need
to
hire.
So
you
know
that
process
has
already
taken
place
for
the
most
part.
I
mean
there
might
be
some
on
standby
that
still
yeah.
D
J
So
my
thinking
on
the
delay
is
that,
if
we
adopted
here,
we
really
don't
take
it
up
to
the
next
board
meeting,
which
is
like
a
week
away
if
we
set
it
to
a
date,
certain
to
say
we'll,
have
a
special
meeting
before
the
board
meeting
and
have
it
resolved
between
now
and
then
or
vote
on
this.
It
doesn't
cause
a
delay
because
you're
still
on
the
same
schedule
as
our
board
schedule,
but
there's
other
questions
that
come
into
here.
J
So
let's
say
we
adopt
this
and
let's
say
we
have
a
capacity
issue,
and
now
I've
got
a
lake.
That's
getting
a
two
to
one
grant
versus
a
lake.
That's
paying
100
of
the
freight.
Are
you
going
to
send
officers
to
the
lake?
That's
paying
100
of
the
freight?
Are
you
gonna
send
them
to
the
lake
that
has
a
two
to
one
match
from
the
county,
because
if
my
lakes
don't
get
this
opportunity
and
they
have
to
pull
the
full
freight,
I
mean
I
guarantee
you
I'll
be
raising
hell
about.
J
Why
are
there
no
officers
on
my
lake
when
they're
paying
a
hundred
percent
of
the
cost
versus
somebody
else?
That's
being
subsidized,
I
think
I
think
this
is
their
major
problems
here
that
we
just
we
need
to
spend
a
little
time
on
and
I'm
happy
to
work
on
it
and
try
to
have
a
resolution
between
now
and
the
board
meeting,
which
we
would
adopt
it
at
that
time.
Anyways
so
essentially,
there'd
be
no
delay.
M
Nelson,
thank
you,
madam
chair.
I
apologize
fellow
members
being
a
little
late,
but
perfect
timing.
Nonetheless,
so
I
did
just
walk
in.
I
heard
the
last
bit
to
start
off
by
addressing
some
of
the
things
that
commissioner
gingel
had
brought
forward.
I
know
we've
had
a
lot
of
conversations
about
this.
I
know
capacity
has
been
a
really
big
hot
topic
of
conversation,
just
in
light
of,
we
know
that
we're
experiencing
some
shortages
across
the
board,
one
of
the
things
that
we
discussed
in
regards
to
that
was
taking
a
look
at
within
the
resolution.
M
There
is
a
criteria
that
talks
about
the
size
of
the
lake,
so
taking
a
look
at
our
larger
lakes
and
in
addition
to
taking
a
look
at
lakes
that
have
public
boat
access
and
from
my
understanding
there
are
presently,
I
don't
have
the
number
right
off
the
top
of
my
head,
but
it
is
relatively
close
to.
There
are
a
couple
more
private
lakes.
M
Then
there
are
public
lakes,
so
I
think
that
there's
like
what
18
public
lakes
that
currently
have
a
contract
with
the
marine
patrol,
I
think
there's
like
21
lakes,
that
are
private
and
in
the
conversations
that
we
had
in
light
of
taking
a
look
at
the
whole
purpose
of
this
grant,
which
was
really
to
look
at
how
we
can
ensure
more
safety
on
our
lakes
that
are
more
crowded.
Now,
it's
not
to
undermine
communities
that
have
smaller
lakes
that
have
already
been
in
agreements
with
the
marine
control
in
the
past.
M
The
way
that
this
resolution
really
kind
of
states,
it
is
from
a
priority
perspective.
It
is
taking
a
look
at
those
larger
lakes
and
the
lakes
that
do
have
public
access
and,
like
I
said
right
now,
there
are
more
lakes
that
contract
within
the
sheriff's
marine
patrol
that
are
private,
then
are
public.
M
Okay,
so
definitely
that
did
come
up
as
well.
The
reason
why
we've
really
centered
around
specifically
cass
lake
hear
me
when
I
say
I
am
definitely
open
to
furthering
this
discussion
on
how
we
can
be
more
inclusive
to
other
lakes,
but
one
of
the
biggest
reasons
behind
this
specific
resolution
was
taking
a
look
at
what
we
could
do
to
increase
more
patrols
on
cass
lake.
We
know
that
cass
lake
is
one
of
the
largest
lakes
here
in
oakland
county.
M
Yet
dodge
park
is
also
a
state
park,
so
it
does
get
a
little
tricky
when
we
take
a
look
at
the
multi-jurisdiction.
But,
however,
this
grant
also
I'm
sorry.
This
resolution
also
incorporates
the
multi-jurisdiction
lakes,
because
that
has
been
one
of
the
biggest
problems
I
can
speak
specifically
with
cass
lake
is,
is
given
that
there
are
four
different
communities
that
surround
cass
lake.
M
M
So
it
is
with
the
hope
that
if
we
do
postpone
another
week
that
I
would
like
to
have
this
still
move
forward,
if
possible,
hitting
our
board
meeting
next
week
here
in
may,
given
that
we
have
one
meeting
so
I'm
definitely
in
support
of
that
would
love
to
hear
more
insight
and
feedback
in
regards
to
this,
and
hopefully
we
can
move
it
forward
next
week.
H
D
D
H
A
J
J
So
all
those
municipalities
that
have
been
paying
100
percent
of
this
cost
from
the
time
we
eliminated
the
marine
patrol
from
general
fund,
don't
feel
like
they're
getting
a
slap
in
the
face
and
or
that
this
resolution
is
a
hundred
percent
fix
to
put
150
grand
in
one
singular
lake,
when
lake
oregon's,
four
to
600
acres,
have
34
dnr
parking
spots,
public
access
shared
between
the
village
and
the
township
of
orion,
but
the
orient
township's,
the
singular
contractor
with
the
sheriff.
So
it
appears
it's
a
singular
municipality.
J
Yeah,
thank
you
appreciate
it,
so
I
had
moved
to
postponed
to
a
date
certain
support
and
we
can
say,
may
12th
prior
to
the
board
meeting.
C
C
A
M
You,
madam
chair,
can
I
have
a
brief
opportunity
to
ask
a
question
in
regards
to
one
of
the
items
on
the
consent
agenda
just
to
kind
of
get
the
ball
rolling
if
there's
additional
sure
pieces
that
need
to
be
figured
out.
I
know
we
had
some
conversations
in
regards
to
kiko
harper
from
my
last
understanding,
kegel
harbor
was
looking
at
only
having
patrols
on
200
feet
of
cass
lake
did
we
get.
I
know
we
had
a
call
here
about
two
weeks
ago
and
that
was
brought
up
and
there
wasn't
really
answers
that
were
given.
M
Has
there
been
any
additional
further
information
or
conversations
with
kegel
harbor
about
and
addressing?
They
only
want
contracted
patrols
within
200
feet
of
the
shoreline
in
kegel
harbor.
G
And-
and
that
I
mean
that's
a
good
question,
because
obviously
we
we
contract
with
the
municipality,
so
kiko
harbors
asked
us
to
have
a
new
to
start
a
new
agreement
for
400
hours.
So
then,
obviously
that
would
be
worked
out
between
the
lake
association
and
and
the
municipality.
So
I
mean
we
can't
we
can
find
out
if
there's
been
any
further
conversations
with
sergeant
burwell.
But
at
this
point
in
time
it's
my
understanding,
it's
the
general
kiko
harbor.
So
how
you
do
that
on
the
lake?
M
From
my
understanding,
correct
me,
if
I'm
wrong,
that's
never
really
happened
in
the
past.
With
these
marine
patrol
grant
agreements
is
that
lakes
don't
just
get
to
dictate.
I
only
want
a
certain
footage
of
shoreline
to
be
patrolled
versus
the
entire
lake,
so
I
do
think
it's
really
important
that
we
do
get
more
clarification
on
that,
because
I
think
it's
ridiculous.
If
we're
moving
forward
with
only
patrolling
200
feet
of
that
large
of
a
lake.
G
So
well,
I
think
that's
where
you
get
into
the
multi-jurisdictional
so
that
that
they're,
trying
to
dictate
instead
of
saying,
okay,
we're
gonna
we're
going
to
so
I
think
that's
been
part
of
the
issue
that
it's
there
are
more
multi
jurisdictions
on
that
like
and
just
for
clarification
there.
That's
not
a
grant
program.
That's
just
a
regular
contract!
C
G
G
M
A
really
important
point:
that's
that,
because
history
being
one
of
the
largest
lakes
here
in
oakland
county
and
knowing
that
the
sandbar
brings
in
lots
and
lots
and
lots
of
people
and
boats
that
historically
there's
never
been
an
agreement
with
the
marine
control.
So
that
was
one
of
the
main
purposes
of
really
driving.
This
resolution
is:
what
can
we
do
to
address
the
residents
concerns
in
regards
to
ensuring
more
safety
on
the
lakes.
M
J
And
so
I
mean,
I
think
everybody
would
say
they're
for
safety
right,
but
cass
lake
and
the
entities
that
oversee
kesley
they've
always
had
the
ability
to
have
a
contract
with
the
sheriff's
office
for
marine
patrol.
They
chose
not
to
fund
it.
Where
my
community
funded
it,
we
have
a
sandbar,
we
have
34
dnr
public
spaces,
we've
paid
for
it
and
other
communities
have
paid
for
it,
which
is
what's
kept
it
alive,
since
we
cut
it
out
of
the
general
fund.
