the
shutdown,
everybody's

throttled

guidelines
and
masks

maker
space
right
now
with
limited
interactions
that
we
used
to
have.

just
got
a
cnc
plasma.

was
originally
a
cnc
plasma,

right
now
it's
retrofitted
with
when
we
got
it.

set
up
as
a

router
table,

on

that's
what's
currently
being
used
as
down
the
roads.
There's
plans
to
switch
it
back
to
a
plasma
type
table,
but

university
where
I
was
doing
faculty
development
so
online
teaching
any
type

technology
stuff

online
delivery
and
then
now
I'm
at
bear
county,
which
is
the
city
of
san
antonio's,
bear
county
county,
doing
technical
training.
So
that's
what
I'm
currently
doing:

we

training
sessions,

host,

really
up
our
game
with
the
way
we
deliver
content

journey

open
source
is
working
on
higher
education.
I
came
in,
I
started
working
for
the
center
for
innovation
and
teaching
and
research
and
back
then
I
was
using
all
proprietary
software.
I
land
there
and
they
say:
okay
center
for
innovation,
teaching
research,
and
this
is
2008.
When
the
economy,
everything
was
tanking,
we
have
no
money
and
they
say
go
be
innovative
by
the
way
you
have
no
money
right,
there's
no
budget,
and
so
then
that's
what
turned
me
on
to
open
source
software,
at
least
more.

as
a
practical
like,
I
got
to
use
this
and
then
the
whole
philanthropy
philanthropist
kind
of
how
do
I?
How
do
I
deal
with
taxpayers
money?
How
do
I
take
this
software
and
you
know
give
it
to
my
students
right,
so
I
couldn't
take
adobe
products
and
give
it
to
my
students
or
to
faculty
that
I
was
working
with.
It
was
cost
prohibitive,
and
so
that's
what
led
me
to
try
to
focus
and
do
everything
I
could
do
with
open
source
software.
That
way,
I
could
give
it
away
so
fast
forward
to
now.

much

the
more
I
started
doing
all
the
nonprofit
work,
so
I
started
work
with
these
nonprofits
and
they
kept
telling
me
or
I

would
go
in
there

see

people

because

doing
where
we
took
the

called
it
texos
the
texas
open
source
project,
another
guy
coined
the
name,
but
we
were
doing
ken
stark.
He
was
with
the
helios
project
and
now
it's
called
re-glue,
I
think,
which
is
recycled.

Electronics
for
gnu
linux
used
in
education
basically
take
donated
computers,
install
linux
on
them,
give
them
to
underprivileged
families
or
people
who
who
didn't
have
you
know
the
digital
divide
and
we
were
trying
to
bridge
that
gap
with
open
source
software,
and
so,
when
I
started
doing
more
of
that,
I
saw
you
know
the
some
of
the
kids
that
came
to
us.
They
they
were
getting
a.
It
was
a
used
computer,
but
they
were
getting
a
computer,
but
you
know
they
were.
We
would
tally
up,
know
what
you
like
about
this
workshop.

getting
a
computer
you're
learning
about
all
this
new
technology,
you

billion
dollar
companies
are
leveraging
the
software
I'm
giving
you
and
yet
they're
they're
just
happy
cat
food.
You

and
so
I
was
that's

it
really
clipped
for
me,
like
oh
man,
that
there
was
the
audience.
The
digital
divide
meant
something
to
me
and
it
wasn't
like
you
know.
People
are
like.
Oh
here's
new
devices,
here's
new
devices
by
the
way
you
got
to
buy
your
service,
you
got
to
buy
your
service,
you.

It
always
came
with
these
caveats
and
that's
one
thing
in
higher
education
when
I
started
doing
more
and
more
open
source,
and
I
was
really
passionate
about
it.
I
have
vendors.
All
the
time.
Call
me
these.
You
know
you,
you
know
your
students
can't
learn.
Unless
you
buy
a
product,
you
can't
teach
unless
you
buy
a
product,
I'm
like
watch
me
click.
You
know,
I'm
like
open
source,
you
know,
I
don't
do
it
with
open
source,
and
so
that
was
just
more
motivation
for
me.
Fighting
the
man
and
I'm
like
I
don't.

want
to
try
to
not
have
to
spend
millions
of
dollars
of
taxpayers
money
that
they
don't
get
to
see.
They
don't
get
to
see
the
benefit
of
it.
That's
why
I
focus
on
the
open
source
stuff.
So
and
then
you

corporate
trying
to
fight
those
guys,
but
then
coming
down
to
the
practical,
like.

also
worked
with
the
adult
adult
literacy
council,
and
you
know,
adults
who
couldn't
read
or
write
and
they
had
give
them
computers,
let
them
let
them
learn
about
technology.

two
threes
as
they're
typing
and
as
they're
learning
typing
skills,
now
they're
learning
more
and
more
practical
stuff,
so
I
kind
of
covered
the
gambit
of
these
nonprofits
and
how
to
work
with
these
people.
With

that
digital
divide
and
all
I
needed
was
a
donated
computer
somebody
if
they
had
an
old
computer
in
the
basement.
You
know
10
years
old
or
whatever
give
me
that
old
computer
give
me
a
jump.

Let's
look
at
hardware
stuff,
let's
look
what
people
are
doing
with
these
tractors
and
these
machines
around
the
world
and
that's
what
drove
me
to
kind
of
look
at
the
software
humanitarian
side
of
things,
and
one
thing
I
quote,

quote
coin
it,
but
it's
one
thing:
I
focus
on
a
lot.
I
preach
this.

lot
is
the
open
source
mindset.

So
no
matter
what
you're
doing,
no
matter,
what
your
focus
is
even
what
creative
commons
license
and
open
educational
resources
oers
anything
that
dealt
with
giving
away
intellectual
property
or
retaining
the
you
know
the
rights
to
it,
but
letting
people
use
it,
but
allowing
people
to
learn
and
absorb
that
content
and
that
knowledge
that
they
can
gain
from
that.
That's
what
I
wanted
to
focus
on
with
everything
that
I
I
did
and
so
long
story
short.

got
me
here
to
start
trying
to
play
around
with
some
more
graphics
and
media
stuff
as
next
to
no
dollars
as
possible,
and
that's
one
I've.
I've
been
a
paying
supporter
of
blender
foundation
for
years
now,
because
I
love

stuff

it
affords
because
I
mean
what
autodesk
at
the
time
was
like
three
grand
or
five
grand
and
now
it's
like
300
a
month,
and
I
can't
afford
that
so
I'd
rather
spend
some
money
and
give
it
to
people
that
can
make
some
awesome
software.

obs,

what
was
great
is
I've
been

obs

with
them
four
plus
years

I've

their
chat
rooms.

I

they
had
one

the
guys
passed
away
a

years

instrumental.
He
helped
me
out
a
lot
in
the
chat
room,
the
getting
to
see
how
that's
progressed
with
the

gamer
community
right.

came
from
the
twitch
streaming,
the
gamers
wanted
to
be
able
to
stream
their
their
their
feed
their
video
feeds,
and
so
it
wasn't
popular
on
an
academic.

kind

spawned
from
that,

it
got
so
much
traction.

labs,

and
I
don't
think
they're
affiliated
at
all,
but
they
took
kind
of
the
core
of
what
obs
was
doing
and
made
the
commercial
side
of
the
stream
labs
they're
not
connected,

so
I
always
focus
on
just
the
open
source.
