From YouTube: Beginning OSE Work in South Africa

Description

History is happening. Lesego Tshepe is OSE's first one year immersion program student. The goal is to start OSE operations as a formally recognized chapter in Rustenburg, South Africa - the land of Ubuntu. In the next year, OSE will get hands-on training to build OSE machines and begin production in South Africa. For example, there is nobody producing 3D printers in South Africa, so there is a great opportunity.

The immersion provides the personal coaching through OSE's collaborative development skill set and mind-set - to be applied to open source hardware and enterprise of all kinds. History is in the making in that our enterprise is open for replication - so that startups don't have to continue reinventing the wheel as they get going. When Lesego succeeds, that will set a precedent for many to follow.

We started this mentoring program because OSE work requires the full time effort on the part of a large number of developers - in order for our transformative goals to become realized. Our aim is to transition people to working with OSE full time. We focus in the creation of collaborating chapters - so that the effort remains highly-coordinated, but distributed. If you are interested in starting a chapter in your country or location - see our Crash Course - https://wiki.opensourceecology.org/wiki/OSE_Crash_Course - and contact us to see if you are a good fit for the program.
