So I've been taking the lessons I was done with tutorial one and two, but I couldn't get the chance to finish tutorial three. Then I started on the on the one minute, video just simply because of time. Yes, so I think that is the only thing that's uh sort of missing today and then obviously the price.

I did give an update, I think, during the week, uh so that also I was supposed to just put on the on the on the uh english spreadsheet, and then I also didn't get a chance to do that, but obviously now's the weekend. I should be able to have a bit of time. Yeah.

Sort of the busy part of the where I've been trying to catch up uh since the convert uh lockdown. So what what what I was planning to do? Obviously, instead of sort of fast track, placing orders in terms of the path and everything else so that I can start with the actual build.

Yes, I don't know if that's that's on track, but I felt like there was a bit of luck, because mine was obviously more to be more practical as well start building, so that everything moves parallel to each other. The the learning uh plus the a bit of the practical side as well.

To start ordering parts.

Yes, I I think by the mountain that should be fun, because what I wanted to do was clear off some of the stuff that I was doing at work, obviously also to with.

Is the one that's a bit it's much more expensive, so it's about two or three factors of the the buying price. I can buy new kali. uh As for what I have, but then uh I read some reviews with some of the online guys that I I have on my on my bomb.

Some of them are not so authentic. It looks like so. I got a bit skeptic in terms of using those guys.

But at least I'm sure that my order will arrive, whereas some of the guys there are some guys, I think, eighty percent of the guys locally. They are you know the guys like taking that that I've got they. They authenticated. uh I think there's one or two blacks that were.

So I thought maybe some of these things are not going to aliexpress. Aliexpress was obviously transportation and the new times the delivery times. It sometimes works because it's unpredictable because of the covert in different regions.

um So so, regarding a couple of decision points, so so we mentioned about the eight inch 12 inch and 18 inch bed versions of the printer and tell me how you feel about because the situation on the 18 inch versus 12 inch. I mean the 18 inch, that's pretty big, but I mean I would.

I would actually lean to maybe say, like the 12 inch version, because I mean how confident do you feel about your ability to build things because there is, there is some build work like there's a little just a tiny bit of welding to to do the.

And stuff, like that, I mean and in terms of manual dexterity to to you know just just building skills with your hands like how would you assess your building skills at this point?.

No, no, I should be shady okay, I mean I I I used to be a bit of welding, so I do have that background. I mean I I just don't, have the photos I, as instead I'll show you the plant that I built. I mean it's quite a big scale, so there was a bit of steel. I think we're talking about six seven times of still, but we had to do was on some big square troops and yeah. So welding is not a big issue either.

I I don't doubt myself, because I can always get extra help like I said as well. If I need to wear these because I think it's a couple of angle, ions is not much really intense welding or anything like that. So I can do a bit of nick uh make welding. I can get around that and the normal arc uh welding.

So I don't think when you did your plan, did you use meg or regular.

It was just regular, it was regular. Yes, it took a bit of time, but it was because of the issues and all those kind of things. So I didn't have fancy tools, so I had to use what I had yeah at that time.

Do you email, google, gmail.

uh Is that the the email on the email side I use, do you know google, google? Maybe you have google drive, um not really. I haven't used that cloud, but I think it's there. I can. If I need to utilize it I can. I can utilize. Google drive.

um Because I think google photos do you ever use that.

Yeah, I see some of the apps.

You have to pay for cloud, it's yeah.

I mean the google google stuff is free, maybe just switch to that. Okay.

I mean like a convenient, so okay, so one thing to do is to have clear communication visual graphically like so it's not a pain for you to upload stuff.

You can easily get stuff up from your phone into google drive or or.

Establish um I mean until there's like a open source version. I mean google is not particularly.

Super open source, but until there's.

An open source method to do it like just send your stuff up to um google.

Yeah there's google drive and google photos. Those are different things photos.

I mean you can just throw up a bunch of stuff there and it's free.

Yeah, because I mean you pay a lot for for the cloud.

Is a very great tool that you open my eyes into you.

No, it's just not about linux, but we never really use it. I think it's normally big businesses that they said that are normally on ubuntu, but I mean it's normally the basis of everything, but more common is the paid windows. I mean sort of the common south african operating system. That's the windows.

A basic way to design 3d printers in freecad and we can develop that workbench by programming it in python right.

That's not possible than any other.

Software, so we got to be all hundred percent open source.

It's upgradable. If I need to work on the motherboard. If I need to do anything on the hard drive, I can always uh hit up the ramps I can upgrade. I can do it. Okay,.

Eventually, so what we found is that for sweet home we need a little more power, because the whole houses are getting a little heavy so like, unless you have a really good laptop.

Slow and we want to be super efficient, so I do recommend.

Have to be now, but when you, when you start working on a house like you got a lens, I just got a the microprocessor that we use is ryzen 3400 g and it only costs 144 dollars.

Do you do you know the arc like the board, the plug-in assist? Is it am4? Do you understand what that means? Is it am4 socket.

Please I think it's an am4, because that's quite common used- because I used to I was the best inspired some time ago- uh upgrade them and play around with them, because I also use it on my design side. I also use a lot of space so obviously running a whole lot of programs. Simulators is always requires a big, a big space yeah.

Amd 3400 g with built-in graphics, it's really good like we just installed. It works great. So.

It's like five times faster, like so than than a regular laptop. It's it's really good.

Between a free card, uh sweet home and uh blender, openscad, there's a whole tool chain that, if you're like good and like importing part libraries finding part libraries.

That you can design like we'll teach you how to design anything. Just like that and.

That's great not as great that's great matching, so what I'm going to do is I'm, I think, I'll, officially just migrate to my desktop, because I hardly use it so I'll, just uh ramp it up to whatever the requirements and then I think I'll just use it uh just put also the linux 2 on it yeah and then I think now going for it I'll use my my desktop. I think it's much easier.

The problem will be obviously when I travel, but I can only still use the live usb when I need to connect to you, but in terms of transfers for files and documents, I'll just stick to the desktop.

I wrote up how this large-scale collaborative development works because for the the home next year, so yeah, that's so we're building two houses like one here, one in texas over the next three months or so, and our.

Goal is pretty ambitious.

For next year, we want to build like thousands of these, so this is like. Finally, um hopefully.

Really really get the traction get revenue and then we can start funding.

um Large-Scale collaborative development take a look at what I wrote I put on your log, but take a look at the cad repositories. Thing um yeah yeah, but.

A bunch of different things, different cad from many different sources, so say you got to design.

Design your plan, you got a pump, you got a motor, you got this and that structural, steel, sections or lumber you can pull that off.

Doing a full cad design just like that! That's what we want to get you to.

Hundreds of people doing that and each one of them knows how to where to put the files.

And then you can have very rapid.

Allows you to replace finance capital with open source design? So yes, instead of having like a million dollars to hire the people to do that, you get your 100 000 people.
