cncf-opentelemetry meeting-2's Personal Meeting Room

C
C
All
right,
let's
get
started,
welcome
back
from
the
weekend.
Everybody,
starting
with
our
regular
notes
so
for
the
spec
looks
like
version
1.14
is
being
prepared.
D
Only
a
few
changes
because
we
release
113
a
bit
of
weeks
ago,
but
this
team.
We
want
to
release
a
few,
some
of
the
hot
speakers,
let's
say,
or
some
important
changes
that
people
want
to
see
out.
There
I
think
that
the
main
one
that
comes
to
mind
is
well.
There
are
two
changes
regarding
OTP
Json,
for
example.
You
know
to
you
know,
towards
making
improvements
on
the
OTL
pjson
part
and
there's
also
a
Boolean
environment
variable
support.
D
D
So
the
planet
you
say
that
is,
we
will
be
reviewing
that
and
if
everything
goes
right,
we
will
be
releasing
tomorrow
after
the
spec
call.
Okay,.
C
Great
looks
like
for
logs
the
javalog
and
event.
Api
has
landed
to
Grant
anything
here
of
specific
note.
A
Yeah,
you
probably
know
that
we
recently
added
to
the
spec
the
new
events.
Api
and
Java
is
the
first
SDK
that
implements
it.
Now,
it's
still
an
experimental
API,
but
if
you're,
if
you're
curious,
maybe
take
a
look
and
see
how
it
works
in
Java.
A
E
A
Yeah
we
had
like
six
seven
open
issues,
I
believe
only
one
is
remaining
there
and
the
one
that
is
remaining
open
is
about
What
naming
of
the
keys
we're
going
to
support
whether
it's
only
the
local
case
or
or
The
Originals
as
well.
I
I
created
a
PR
that
says
that
we
support
both
but
I.
Think
Yuri
in
particular,
doesn't
like
the
idea,
so
he
he
asked
for
more
arguments
in
favor
of
doing
this
and
I'm
not
entirely
sure
what
those
arguments
are
going
to
be.
A
So,
if
you
guys
have
any
thoughts,
maybe
you
can
help
with
that.
Maybe
you
can
comment
on
that
pull
request
and
we
see
what
do
we
do
about
that?
I
think
it's
the
last
one
for
the
reason.
C
And
and
just
and
apologize
because
it's
probably
a
stupid
question,
but
but
so
like
the
hotel,
P
Json
was
not
GA
up
until
this
point
so
I
think
what
you're
saying
is
this
is
once
this
is
solved.
Okay
goes
GA.
This.
A
Is
this
is
part
of
the
stabilization
effort
for
all
trp
Json?
It's
considered
either
unstable
or
better
right
now,
but
it
is
not
stable.
So
yes,
it's
part
of
that
effort
and
also
part
of
declaring
otrp
1.0
the
entirety
of
14,
RPM
and
auto
repository.
So
this
is
a
prerequisite
for
that.
The
Json
is
a
prerequisite
for
going
1.0
in
otlp,
okay,
great.
C
Thanks
updates
for
go,
we've
had
version
0.32.2
with
more
metric
SDK
bug
fixes
that's
expected
this
week,
applying
to
work
with
the
collector
Sig
this
week
to
try
and
unblock
their
development
and
switching
to
the
new
metric
SDK.
This
requires
open
settings.
Bridge
work,
C,
plus
plus
there's
metrics
working
ongoing
GA
Milestone
31
complete
for
the
tentative
release
on
Halloween
all
right.
C
Any
other
topics
for
here
I'm
thinking
one
might
be
the
election
updates,
because
I
know
that
the
otel
GC
election
is
coming
up
just
flipping
through
the
attendees
to
see
if
we've
got
anyone
who's
working
on
that
on
that,
it's
mostly
being
done
by
draci
who's.
Not
here
today,.
E
Yeah
the
election
will
be
held
before
kubecon
I.
Think
the
last
day
for
submitting
a
candidate
is
the
10th,
that's
probably
the
most
important
date
right
now.
I,
don't
remember
the
exact
date
of
the
election,
but
I
think
it's
the
week
before
kubecon
right
now
there
are
no
candidates,
although
that's.
C
C
E
C
Yeah
Thursday,
okay,
thank
you
and
I.
Think
the
draci
did
the
voter
roll
pull.
The
voter
rolls
on
Thursday
for
who
can
vote
so
that
was
just
based
off
of
GitHub
contributions
and,
of
course,
if
there's
a
PR
I
think
in
the
community
repo
that
gerasi
opened.
If
you
don't
see
your
name
on
that
list,
there
will
be
a
way
you
can
apply
if
you
didn't
have
a
whole
lot
of
GitHub
activity,
but
otherwise
I
think
that
you're,
you
should
be
considered
for
for
being
able
to
vote.
E
I
think
I
think
the
automatic
list
was
20
contributions
in
the
last
12
month.
Rolling
window
and
contributions
include
like
comments
and
stuff
like
that,
so
yeah
I
I.
It
was
just
over
500
people
from
what
I
remember.
C
Yes,
yeah,
it
was
roughly
500.
yeah.
Okay,
that
was
the
the
one
big
topic.
I,
think
the
only
other
one
that
comes
to
mind
for
me
is
Austin
Parker
and
some
others
are
organizing
a
if
you're
attending
kubecon
on
the
Tuesday
of
kubecon
they're,
organizing.
E
C
Hotel
unplugged
event,
I
think
Austin
will
be
releasing
more
details
shortly,
but
it'll
be
all
effectively
all
day
on
the
Tuesday.
We
also
have
a
community
meeting
in
the
afternoon
that
they've
sort
of
purposely
left
a
whole
a
gap
in
the
event.
For
so
both
of
those
will
be
very,
very
exciting,
so
you
will
be
able
to
attend
both,
even
though
they're
on
the
same
day,
you
can
go
to
both.
We
made
sure
the
schedule
works
for
that.
C
I,
don't
have
details
of
the
agenda
or
anything,
unfortunately
like
I'm,
somewhat
involved
in
the
planning,
but
not
massively,
but
I'll
I'll
ping
Austin
see
if
you
can
come
next
week
on
Monday.
B
Back
into
the
election,
real,
quick,
so
yeah,
presumably
we
will
get
candidates,
but
in
the
odd
chance
there
are
four
seats
up
right.
If
we
don't
get
four
candidates,
do
we
leave
the
EGC
short
I.
C
Think
Liz
had
mentioned
a
few
times
publicly,
but
she's,
probably
not
running
again,
because
she
actually
wants
to
spend
more
time
coding
and
actually
doing
stuff
in
hotel,
and
so
there
will
be
at
least
one
opportunity
of
the
seats
that
are
turning
over,
for
that
will
not
where
the
incumbent
will
not
be
even
running
again.
C
So
it's
a
good
point.
Anthony
like
like
this
is
of
all
the
elections
we've
had.
Perhaps
this
is
the
one
where
there's
the
biggest
risk
of
that.
That
being
said,
I
suspect
it
won't
be
an
issue
and
to
answer
your
question
more
directly,
I
don't
actually
know
what
the
plan
is.
If
not
enough
people
run
I
guess
those
seats
get
left
open,
I'd
have
to
look
at
the
charter,
I,
don't
I,
don't
actually
know
yeah.
B
C
Bring
it
up
in
the
GC
meeting
this
week.
This
is
actually
a
really
good
question.
Yeah
I
have
assumed
the
seat
would
just
be
left
open,
but
I
will
ask
the
GC,
because
there
are
people
there
like
like
Liz
and
others
who
know
this
sort
of
thing
much
better
than
I.
Do.
B
And
then
on
the
topic
of
otlp
and
Json
I
think
it's
very
important
that
we
get
to
the
1.0
on
otlp.
So
if
anybody
can
chime
in
on
this
last
Json
stability
issue,
I
think
that
will
be
very
helpful.
C
Plus
one
to
that
as
well
like
it'd,
be
great
to
get
otlp
to
1.0,
not
that
I've
heard
too
many
people
saying
like.
Oh,
it's
not
1.0
and
I
want
to
use
it,
but
there's
always
I
think
a
risk,
a
very
real
risk
of
firms
and
end
users
who
don't
who
see
the
label
as
beta
or
experimental,
or
something
and
get
afraid
I.
Just
don't
even
consider
using
it.
So
it'd
be
great
to
push
this
to.
