Description
OpenShift Assisted Installer provides an easy way to install OpenShift on your nodes from the Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console. The installer is a managed service to install OpenShift clusters on bare metal (though not restricted to). It has been available for a number of releases as a Technology Preview and during this time we have received great user feedback.
We’ll discuss how to achieve hands-off deployment in this overview of zero touch provision and learn why it’s beneficial for managing deployments at the edge.

is
fully
supported.
It

want

wait
until

byproduct

moving

upgrades

now
enabled

well.

that

work

frame

reference

exactly

name
implies
a
way
to
deploy
to
install
openshift
that
is
more
friendly
than

traditional
command
line
interface
right.
So
normally,
when
we
do
a
an
openshift
deployment,
we
download
the
openshift
install
cli
tool.
You
know
we
create
the
install
config.yml
and
then
we
kind
of
walk
through
the
steps
where
it
generates
ignition
files.
We
boot
our
coreos
nodes.
We
point
them
at
the
ignition
files.

It
does
all
that
other
stuff
and
even
with
ipi
right,
we
still
have
that
cli
experience
and
assisted
installer
doesn't
help
with
ipi
at
this
point,
but
definitely
with
non-integrated
and
upi
clusters.

get
a
much

interface

it
downloads
a

gigabyte
image
that

container
images
included
in

image

will
pull
from
the
internet,
the
images
that
it
needs.
So
this
one
is
useful.
So,
for
me
one
of
the
example
clusters.

have
I'm
actually

vpn'ed

red
hat

connected
remotely
to
a
physical
node
and
have
remotely
attached
the
minimal
image
file,
because
the
vpn
throughput
is
terrible.
It's
like
two
megabytes
per
second
or
something
so
rather
than
having
to
upload
through
the
vpn
and
all
of
that
a
whole
gigabyte.

to
set
cluster-wide
proxy
settings
when
I
click
this
it'll
generate
a
discovery
iso
which
I
can
download,
I
simply
attach
that
to
our
host
and
boot.
