Whereas
in
hotels
journey
to
winning
the
state
championship,
action
began
two
years
ago
in
Hershey
Park
Stadium,
when
they
became
the
first
Philadelphia
public
school
team
to
reach
the
state
championship
game.
Unfortunately,
at
that
time
they
came
up
short
and
what
em
hotep
has
come
a
long
way
from
its
humble
roots
in
east
germantown.
Their
tireless
determination
culminated
with
a
perfect
15
and
0
season,
as
well
as
setting
a
title
game
record
of
514
total
yards
on
offense
and.

And
whereas
coach
Crosby
has
always
inspired
his
student
athletes
to
prosper,
stressing
the
value
of
teamwork,
individual
excellence
and
perseverance
through
adversity,
Crosby
takes
satisfaction
and
seeing
his
players
grow
and
men
as
they
continue
to
pursue
and
accomplish
their
goals
over
30
em
hotep
graduates
currently
continue
their
athletic
careers
with
scholarships
to
colleges
and
universities.
Now,
therefore,
be
it.
C
Be
it
resolved
by
the
council
of
the
city
of
philadelphia
that
I
hereby
honors
and
recognizes
em
hotep
institute
charter
high
school
football
program
for
a
phenomenal
season
and
for
making
philadelphia
history
by
becoming
the
city's
first
publicly
team
to
win
a
PIAA
state
championship
further
resolved
that,
in
a
gross
copy
of
this
resolution,
be
presented
to
em
otep
charter
high
school
football
program.
As
evidence
of
the
deep
admiration
of
this
legislative
body,
they
are
an
inspiration
to
us
all
and
a
positive
reflection
of
our
great
city.
Congratulations.
H
Thank
you
very
much.
My
name
is
coach.
Al
Crosby
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
extremely
proud
that
the
City
Council
would've
out
invite
our
young
people
to
come
into
your
space.
I
also
want
to
thank
district
12,
Robert
Coleman,
dr.
Robert
Coleman.
He
assisted
and
helped
us
do
this
whole
this
whole
process
and
was
there
for
us
every
step
of
the
way.
Just
quick,
penguin,
Imhotep
Imhotep
charter
high
school
is
a
small
football,
a
small
school
located
in
the
northwest
section
of
Philadelphia.
H
They
brought
into
our
structure
and
they
were
young
people
that
you
didn't
realize
that
we're
going
through
different
type
of
transitions
situations.
We
then
became
a
unit
and
they
started
to
believe
in
our
structure
and
our
vision
and
our
plan.
We
started
winning
some
football
games.
Then
they
started
to
believe
once
they
believe.
We
should
started
gathering
success
and
now
I'm
very
proud
to
say
that
we
have
15
seniors
graduating
from
high
school
and
all
those
seniors
are
going
on.
The
secondary
education.
H
The
other
thing,
the
other
thing
without
which
I'm
extremely
proud
of
is
none
of
those
young
men
are
playing
at
the
highest
level
of
college
football
that
you
could
possibly
play
at.
We
have
young
men
going
a
young
man
on
the
Florida
State
another
young
man
going
to
Oklahoma
san
diego
state,
penn
state
university,
Temple,
University,
New,
Hampshire,
Delaware,
State,
Rhode,
Island,
no
Liam.
We
have.
H
H
Us
our
school,
our
school,
is
very
committed
to
our
young
people.
Not
only
are
they
committed
to
us
as
regards
the
Athletics,
it's
the
part
that
I'm
kind
of
overseeing
with
the
football
part,
but
our
school
is
very
committed
to
our
young
people
in
regards
to
the
community.
But
academics
stands
a
very
strong
force
for
our
school
and
it's
one
of
the
things
that
we
preach.
Every
single
day
we
talked
about
the
SATA
CT.
We
talked
about
Khan
Academy.
H
We
talk
about
our
young
people,
just
being
successful
young
people
in
our
society,
and
these
guys
come
from
you,
football
programs
across
the
city
of
Philadelphia
and
if
you're,
a
Raider
black
honker,
azteca
monarch,
a
bantam.
They
follow
these.
They
follow
their
leads
and
hurricane
Wow
can
I
apologize,
but
they
follow
their
leads,
and
so
those
are
the
young
guys
that,
hopefully
they're
standing.
Hopefully
we
can
make
this
a
regular
thing
and
we're
standing
in
front
of
you
every
year
and
that's
the
plan.
So
it's
going
to
say
thank
you
again.
I
Good
morning,
everyone
and
thank
you
for
having
us
here
today,
the
board
of
em
hotep,
institute
charter
school
and
its
family
community.
We
would
like
to
thank
the
city
of
Philadelphia
and
for
this
extreme
acknowledgement
of
these
amazing
athletes.
We
would
like
to
honor
and
thank
the
parents,
the
coaches,
the
teachers
and
our
phenomenal
administrators
for
their
unwavering
support
of
our
young
scholar,
athletes
and
remember,
I
said
scholar-athletes.
I
Most
of
all,
we
want
to
say
a
powerful
a
shade
to
all
these
young
men
a
shame
we
are
in
the
business
of
producing
the
new
Paul,
Robeson's
and
other
great
African
ancestors
that
set
the
course
for
collective
change
in
this
country
and
the
world
a
special
thanks
to
Councilwoman
Cindy
bath,
Robert,
Coleman
and
School
District
of
Philadelphia
for
their
tremendous
support.
Thank
you
all
for
the
love
and
light
and
sharing
this
extraordinary
moment,
and
we
have
a
nation
that
we
want
to
share
with
the
city
of
Philadelphia
shark.
