And
the
chair
recognizes
Councilwoman
Reynolds
well,
Thank
You.
Mr.
president,
let
me
say
thank
you
also
to
my
colleagues,
Jones
Parker
Green,
Green,
Lee,
Blackwell
bass,
school
and
Oh
for
supporting
me
on
one
or
all
of
those
resolutions.
The
35th
President
of
the
United
States
John,
F
Kennedy,
said
and
I
quote
the
supreme
reality
of
our
time
is
the
vulnerability
of
our
planet
fast
forward
to
the
45th
President
of
the
United
States,
and
we
know
that
the
central
challenge
the
people
in
places
around
the
globe
now
is
climate
change.
A
The
cost
of
inaction
are
high
and
smart
solutions
are
required.
The
world
as
a
whole
agreed
on
the
path
forward.
196
196
nations
signed
the
Paris
agreement
for
the
first
time
now.
Climate
change
has
rocketed
to
the
top
of
the
list
of
global
issues
that
the
Royall
has
agreed
upon.
Our
45th
President
of
the
United
States.
The
truck
administration's
decision
to
withdraw
from
the
Paris
climate
agreement
creates
uncertainty
for
our
economy
around
the
world.
A
What
we
know
is
that
energy
is
a
key
building
block
for
Economic
Opportunity
and
higher
energy
prices
will
disproportionately
hurt
the
most
vulnerable
among
us.
I
seized
the
moment
to
salute
Mayor,
Jim
Kenney,
then
councilman
James
Kenney
for
convening
and
conceiving
the
new
Committee
on
the
environment
and
sustainability.
A
What
is
more
important
to
our
survival
I
ask
the
question:
what
is
more
important
to
our
survival
as
human
beings
as
citizens
than
the
air
we
breathe,
and
the
water
we
drink?
Here's
the
fact.
One
day
we're
going
to
handle
the
keys
mr.
president
of
this
planet
to
the
most
vulnerable
among
us,
your
grandson
and
my
daughter,
children
like
Carson,
the
daughter
of
Councilwoman
bath
and
tomas,
the
son
of
councilman,
Sanchez
and
Langston.
The
son
of
councilman
Parker,
are
going
to
inherit
the
world
we
shape
today.
A
So
it
behooves
us
to
lead
this
transition
to
a
clean
energy
economy
and
empower
all
of
our
citizens
to
be
conscientious
about
energy
conservation,
I'll
close
where
I
started
with
the
35th
president
Jane
John,
F
Kennedy,
the
supreme
reality
of
our
time
is
the
vulnerability
of
our
planet.
I.
Thank
you.
Mr.
president,
Thank
You
Councilwoman.
