B
Thank
You,
mr.
president,
on
today
it
it
is
with
extreme
honor
and
privilege
that
we
are
able
to
present
this
resolution
to
the
leadership
and
supporting
team
of
an
organization
who
I
just
learned
about
in
April
of
2017
through
the
Philadelphia
chapter
of
the
Lynx,
and
it
was
during
this
time
on
April
2,
8th
that
we
partnered
with
this
organization
for
an
event
relative
to
breast
cancer
awareness
and
for
survivors
and
to
encourage
women
to
thrive.
B
Sorry
to
call
you
out
that
way:
Evelyn
we
knew
of
them
and
we
knew
of
their
brand,
but
I
had
never
heard
of
a
Tracy's
bio
and
that
an
organization
specifically
geared
welcoming
of
all
women
but
but
very
much
geared
towards
supporting
african-american
women
and
women
of
color,
who,
whose
networks
and
needs
may
be
a
little
different
and
challenging
in
different
ways
than
are
with
others.
Then,
when
I
saw
JC
Smith
the
founder
one
of
the
founders
of
the
organization,
Councilwoman
Reynolds
Brown
I
took
it
a
heart
because
she's
a
home
girl.
B
For
me,
she
grew
up
in
the
West
Oakland
community,
near
the
19th
and
Cheltenham
area,
where
I
was
raised
by
my
grandparents
and
that
same
commitment
to
neighborhood
that
say,
commitment
to
service
that
many
of
us
learned
in
our
earlier
years.
Tracy
has
taken
that
and
given
it
a
thousand
and
one
percent
of
everything
that
she
has
and
put
into
this
organization.
So
it's
with
that
in
mind
that
I
want
to
thank
all
of
my
colleagues
for
being
able
to
support
this
resolution
and
to
very
intentionally
and
I
want
you
to
know.
B
C
D
F
D
Breast
cancer
awareness
month
is
an
annual
International
Health
campaign
organized
by
major
major
breast
cancer
charities,
every
Thursday
to
increase
every
October,
to
increase
awareness
of
the
disease
and
to
raise
funds
for
the
research
into
its
cause.
Prevention,
diagnosis,
treatment
and
cure.
The
campaign
also
offers
information
and
support
to
those
affected
by
breast
cancer
and.
H
I
Whereas
most
breast
cancers
are
found
in
women
who
are
50
years
old
or
older,
but
breast
cancer
also
affects
younger
women.
About
10
percent
of
all
new
cases
of
breast
cancer
in
the
United
States
are
found
in
women
younger
than
45
years
of
age.
Men
also
get
breast
cancer,
but
it
is
not
very
common
and.
L
Whereas
in
2013
Tracy
received
the
devastating
news
from
her
doctor
that
she
had
breast
cancer
Tracy
chose
not
to
see
this
as
a
negative,
but
rather
she
faced
it
positively.
Every
time
she
went
to
chemotherapy
she
received
rave
reviews
on
her
personal
appearance.
She
lived
her
life
with
the
affirmation
that
I
am
beautiful
both
inside
and
out,
regardless
of
the
loss
of
her
hair
nails
and
eyelashes,
and.
C
Whereas,
after
a
year
of
helping,
others
feel
as
good
as
she
felt,
Tracy
found
it
Tracy's
beautiful
inside
and
out
Tracy's
bio
in
2014,
with
her
best
friend
and
business
partner,
Phyllis
Young.
The
mission
of
the
organization
is
to
help
women
who
are
battling
cancer,
maintain
a
level
of
normalcy
while
going
through
an
abnormal
process
and.
M
N
Whereas
Tracy
also
found
that
each
one
teach
one
childcare,
Learning
Center
in
2002
with
our
business
partner,
miss
young.
Today
there
are
five
of
these
centers
and
one
Christian
Academy,
spread
throughout
the
Philadelphia
area,
serving
lesleyd
elfia
Germantown,
Darby
and
Southwest
Philadelphia
Tracy
and
Miss
young
serve
350
young
scholars
each
school
year
and
up
to
the
500
each
summer
and.
F
B
And
while
before
the
Council
of
president
recognizes
a
Tracy
for
remarks,
I
just
wanted
to
encourage
everyone
in
the
audience
and
those
who
may
be
watching
us
at
home
to
learn
more
about
Tracy's
bio
by
visiting
their
website
wwas
by
org
information
about
the
organization.
Is
there
and,
most
importantly,
just
like
any
other
organization,
you
can
make
a
contribution
at
any
level
in
which
you
like,
if
you're
interested
in
supporting
their
efforts.
Thank
you
and.
Q
Good
morning,
good
morning,
good
morning
and
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
so
much
for
recognizing
Tracy's,
bio
I've
started
this
organization
at
the
worst
time,
I
had
a
mastectomy
I
had
no
hair
and
I
just
finished
radiation,
and
so
I
needed
something
more
other
than
what
the
doctors
were.
Giving
me
I
needed
a
sisterhood
I
needed
something
more
spiritual
and
I
needed
something
more
mental
I
figured
if
I
needed
this,
and
there
were
other,
ladies
that
also
as
well
needed
that
so
I
started
the
organization
because
it
was
a
need.
Q
It
was
my
duty
because
there
are
a
lot
of
people
that
lose
their
life
to
breast
cancer.
I
am
the
fortunate
one
to
say
that
I
am
a
survivor,
and
so
it
was
a
need
for
me
to
grab
the
hand
of
the
person
that
was
going
through
what
I
went
through
and
say.
You
too
can
be
a
survivor
as
well
and
so
I
think
you're,
not
only
for
just
recognizing
me
but
understand.
That
is
my
job.
It
is
our
job
that
we
see
someone
going
through
breast
cancer
to
reach
out
and
say
sister.
