B
Councilman
don,
thank
you,
council
president.
I'd
like
to
just
speak
briefly
regarding
this
resolution
and
its
importance
at
this
moment
in
time.
It's
just
about
a
year
ago,
since
this
pandemic
hit.
Actually
two
weeks
ago,
the
president
of
the
united
states
officially
enacted
a
1.9
trillion
dollar
stimulus
package
named
the
american
rescue
plan.
B
B
The
federal
dollars
provided
in
the
american
rescue
plan
act
will
arrive
in
philadelphia
incrementally
with
the
first
half
being
dispersed
before
the
end
of
this
year's
fiscal
year.
2021
and
the
second
half
arriving
approximately
12
months
later,
which
can
be
used
for
the
city's
five-year
financial
plan.
B
This
is
a
big
opportunity
for
philadelphia
and
conversations
need
to
start
now.
So
I
look
forward
to
this
hearing,
I
hope
to
have
the
support
of
this
body
today.
I
want
to
thank
my
co-sponsors
council
members,
gilmore
richardson,
kenobi
sanchez,
parker
jones,
green
bass
and
brooks
I
encourage
everyone
to
put
forward
their
best
ideas
and
I'm
happy
to
work
with
any
of
you
on
generating
some
new
and
bolder
ideas
for
the
city
of
philadelphia.
