director
of
the
Johnson
house,
historic
site,
located
at
the
corner
of
Germantown
in
Washington,
Lane
and
board
secretary
for
the
Germantown
special
services
district
and
the
district
serves
the
Germantown
and
Shelton
business
Carter
and
we're
one
of
the
highest
trafficked
and
busiest
transit
stops
in
the
city.

It
is
also
home
to
historic,
Germantown,
a
partnership
of
16,
extraordinary
historic
houses,
Dustin
and
museums
in
Northwest,
Philadelphia
that
joined
together
to
protect,
preserve
and
share
some
of
Philadelphia's
prized
historical
assets.
I
want
to
thank
everyone
in
this
room
for
voting
for
the
National
Trust
Historic
Preservation
Main
streets
program.
We
were
successful
in
being
nominated
to
receive
a
grant
for
two
special
african-american
historic
sites,
we're
also
now
the
new
home
for
Marc,
Lamont,
Hill's,
new
bookstore
and
coffee
shop
right
in
the
heart
of
the
district
called
uncle
Bobby's.
So
this
is
a
plug.

Stop
in
both
of
our
entities
represent
the
very
heart
of
Germantown
and
we're
critical
elements
that
were
needed
to
build
the
heritage
to
tourism
there
and
enhance
and
sustain
our
local
small
businesses
and
engage
members
to
shop
locally
and
engage
with
public
and
private
schools,
which
of
which
we
have
many
to
help
build
a
better
business
corridor
and
community
I
was
approved
by
the
district.

support
that
they
need
to
report
nuisance
issues
and
improve
and
beautify.
The
district
and
we've
made
great
progress.
Effort
has
and
continues
to
add
to
recent
capital
improvement
investments
made
towards
long-term
economic
development
for

Germantown

shelter

business
Carter.
Those
investments,
spearheaded
by
council
and
invest
include
major
improvements
in
Vernon,
Park,
stabilization
and
sale
of
the
old
YWCA
and
plans
to
revitalize
Maplewood
mall,
just
to
name
a
few.

I
moved
to
germantown
from
west
philadelphia
to
tap
into
the
positive
energy
that
was
palpable
in
a
living
thing
here.
Since
that
time
we've
experienced
economic
highs
and
lows,
but
Germantown
is
changing.
Businesses
and
tuitions
and
residency
real
opportunity
in
Germantown
and
developers
are
investing,
but
change
must
be
inclusive
and
not
exclusive.
To
achieve
the
goals
set
by
G
SSD,
we
must
be
inclusive
and
not
exclusive,
and
to
do
so,
we
populate
our
board
with
diverse
voices
and
diverse
skills
to
build
the
trajectory
that
will
propel
Germantown
forward.

reestablish

hearing
women

be
