B
All
right,
good
afternoon,
city,
council,
Thank,
You,
Councilwoman
Sanchez
for
this
hearing
I
work.
Oh
my
name
is
Ronald
white
I'm
speaking
in
favor
of
the
bill,
I
work
with
young
people
and
that's
one
reason
why
I'm
wearing
this
kind
of
silly
costume.
We
use
this
costume.
It's
trash
Academy,
which
is
a
program
of
mural
arts
Philadelphia
to
educate
around
the
issue
of
plastic
bags.
This
costume
represents
the
average
number
of
plastic
bags
that
cabbage
American
consumer
uses
every
year,
which
is
around
365.
B
So
when
people
see
this
costume,
they're
like
wow,
that's
how
many
plastic
bags
I'm
personally
using
every
year.
That's
really
a
good
striking
visual
for
people
and
I
want
to
address
the
issue
of
poverty
in
the
city,
because
I
do
that
version
dates
with
me.
I
was
raised
in
poverty.
You
understand
what
it
means
to
live
in
poverty
and
I.
Don't
think
that
people
should
be
penalized
for
living
in
poverty,
but
I
also
want
to
say
that
poor
people
also
care
about
the
environment.
I
know
a
lot
of
poor
people
who
are
environmental
activists.
B
They
they
don't
want
to
be
penalized
for
being
poor,
but
they
also
want
to
see
our
streets
clean.
They
want
to
see
our
environment
protected,
so
I
hope
that
can
be
factored
in.
I
also
want
to
say
that
the
young
people
I
work
with
are
very
enthusiastic
about
this
bill.
I'm
sure
you've
heard
about
all
the
climate
activism
with
young
people
these
days,
the
environment.
Is
it
really
really
I
hate
to
say
hot
topic,
but
that's
kind
of
what
it
is.
Young
people
are
facing
an
existential
crisis
with
climate
change,
with
destruction
of
our
environment.
B
They
are
looking
to
our
politicians,
they're
looking
to
you
basically
to
to
basically
save
us
to
do
something.
We
have
to
really
fix
the
situation
with
our
environment
and
I
feel
like
if
we
can't
do
something
small,
like
banning
plastic
bags,
how
are
we
going
to
do
something
big
like
getting
solar,
solar
energy
or
reducing
co2
emissions?
We
have
to
do
the
small
things
first
and
I'm
really
hopeful
that
we
can
do
this
and
get
this
done
and
I
appreciate
your
time
and
listening
to
us
here
today.
Thank
you.
Thank.
