The Committee on Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs of the Council of the City of Philadelphia will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 10:00 AM, in Room 400, City Hall, to hear testimony on the following item:

180993 An Ordinance authorizing the Commissioner of Public Property and the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, to grant to PECO Energy Company an easement for the purpose of installing transmission lines across a portion of the parcel or parcels of land in and about the area bounded by Grays Avenue, Woodland Avenue, 56th Street and 57th Street, commonly known as Deritis Playground, under certain terms and conditions.

The purpose of this public hearing is to hear testimony on bill number one: eight, zero, nine. Ninety three I'd like to recognize the presence of a quorum of committee, members and members of the committee in attendance, our councilman bill, Greenlee councilman, David, Owen, Council, President, Darrell Clark. Number one: eight zero, nine, nine three authorizing the Commissioner of public property in the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, on behalf of the city of Philadelphia, to grant a Pico Energy Company in Eastman for the purpose of installing transmission lines across a portion of the parcel or parcels of land in and about the area bounded by Grace, Avenue, Woodland, Avenue, 56th, Street and 57th Street, commonly known as their display ground under certain terms and conditions.

Bach Deputy Commissioner of Parks and Recreation good morning, chairwoman Bess and the members of the committee on Parks and Recreation. My name is sue buck and I'm.

The Deputy Commissioner for operations for the Department of Parks and Recreation I am here today to testify in support of bill number one: eight, zero, nine, ninety three, an ordinance authorizing the Commissioner of public property and the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, on behalf of the city of Philadelphia, to grant tipico an easement for the purpose of installing transmission lines across a portion of the parcel or parcels of land in and about the area bounded by grace, Avenue Woodland, Avenue, 56th Street at 57th Street, commonly known as dorita's playground under certain terms and conditions.

This ordinance will grant Pico an easement on a small portion of a piece of city property to reduce playground to relocate a transmission line that must be moved due to regulatory requirements.

Pico worked with Parks and Recreation on the project to reduce the amount of space needed for the relocation. The space space in question is not used for programming for activities as it is contains mostly vegetation.

Both council members, johnson and black warrant well in whose district this parcel resides, are supportive of this legislation. The Department of Parks and Recreation also support this measure and accordingly, I respectfully request that City Council approve bill number of one eight zero, nine. Ninety three I am also requesting a suspension of the rules so as to allow for the first reading at the next session of council.
