department

street
supports
this
proposed

accessible
building
ramp,
as
it
will
maintain
the
11
feet,
passable
sidewalk
space,
which
meets
the
complete
streets
minimum
width.

regarding
bill
number

the

me

the

Let
me
please
state
that
the
philadelphia
police
department
is
well
aware
of
how
loud
noise
emanating
from
wheels
can
impact
the
quality
of
life
in
our
neighborhoods.

So
we
appreciate
the
efforts
of
this
body
to
address
these
concerns.
Excessive
loud
sounds
whether
it
be
derived
from
music
or
emanates
from
parts
of
a
motor
vehicle.
Clearly
our
quality
of
life
issue
in
our
neighborhoods,
but,
as
you
probably
know,
the
ppd
is
modifying
the
enforcement
of
quality
life
and
fences.

For
this
reason,
we
support
the
automated
enforcement
of
these
violations
in
a
manner
similar
to
red
light
and
speed
enforcement
cameras
in
philadelphia.
This
bill
is
consistent
with
the
overall
directions
being
taken
by
the
ppd
when
enforcing
quality
of
life.
Offenses,
specifically,
this
bill
allows
for
the
enforcement
without
direct
police
involvement.
As
a
result,
we
believe
this
bill
right
or
strikes
the
right
balance
between
issuing
violations
to
individuals
negatively
impacting
the
quality
of
life
on
our
city,
while
reducing
physical
interactions
with
motorists.

couple,
quick
questions,
because
we
still
have
some
more
work
to
do
on
the
implementation
process
of
this.
We
were
hoping
to
implement
it
similar
to
the
red
light
and
or
speed
cameras
that
are
now
in
place
here
in
the
city
of
philadelphia.
But
do
you
believe
that
these
these
cameras,
also
as
issued,
could
be
to
capture
not
only
noise
but
say
vehicles
that
are
riding
on
sidewalks
or
riding
in
the
wrong
direction?

Personally,
I've
never
seen
it
done
that
way,
but
the
as
long
as
the
I
mean
this
is
my
own
personal
opinion.
If
the
cameras
can
verify
the
offense
there's
no
reason
why
the
fence
couldn't
be
issued
electronically,
like
they're
doing
with
the
speed
cameras
and
the
red
light
cameras,
the
question
would
be
verifiability,
which
is
the
speed
cameras
and
the
red
light.
Cameras
have
a
whole
lot
of
technology
to
document
the
actual
violation,
meaning
the
photograph
prior
during
and
after
the
incident.
So
I'm
not
sure
how
corrupt
but
physical
feasibly
I
mean.

I
just
want
to
see
that
you
know
this
could
also
be
done
again,
as
you
know,
in
in
the
guise
of
how
the
city
in
the
direction
we're
going
where
we're
not
engaging
we're,
not
profiling,
individuals,
all
we're
doing,
is
looking
at
violations
and
who
is
what
vehicles
are
violating
them
and
then
being
able
to
review
them
by
authorities
and
then
issue
tickets
if
those
reviews
are
warranted.
So

last
team
in

last
few

so
I
would
just
say
that
I'll
conclude
with
this,
you
need
to
be
much
more
radical
in

thinking
and

implementation
of
these
types
of
policies.
In
other
words,
there's
only
a
few
speed
cameras
on
roosevelt
boulevard.
I
There
need
to
be
speed,
cameras
throughout
the
city,
not
five
or
ten
of
them.
There
need
to
be
hundreds
of
them.
There
need
to
be
stoplight
cameras,
hundreds
of
them
there
need
to
be
cameras
that
capture
you
know
extreme
and
radical
and
dangerous
driving
that
happens
throughout
this
city
and
those
cameras
need
to
be
used
to
to
ticket
people
and
bring
people.
I
You
know
to
protect
the
public,
so
this
is
a
great
thing,
but
you
need
to
be
much
more
radical
and
it's
disappointing
to
me
that
I
don't
really
hear
a
whole
lot
of
that.
I
hear
kind
of
the
start
of
that,
but
you
know,
I
think,
that
your
constituents
would
thank
you,
especially
those
of
us
who
have
to
drive
in
this
city.
