Councilman Kenyatta Johnson (2nd District) gives an overview on qualifying for the Longtime Owner Occupants Program or LOOP.
LOOP is a Real Estate Tax discount program for homeowners who have lived in their homes since July 2003 or earlier and have experienced a significant increase in their property assessment.

want
to
tell
you
about
a
text
discount
program.
You
may
qualify
for
the
longtime
owners
occupants
program,
otherwise
known
as
loop.
Loop
is
a
real
estate
discount
program
for
homeowners
who
have
lived
in
their
home
since
july,
two
thousand
three
or
earlier,
and
have
experienced
a
significant
increase
in
their
property
assessment.
The
real
estate
taxes
on
your
property
must
be
paid
in
full
or
you
must
be
up
to
date
on
a
payment
plan.
A
Your
property
assessment
must
have
triple
from
one
year
to
the
next
and
you
must
meet
income
eligibility
limits
for
a
one-person
household.
The
income
limit
is
set
at
eighty-three
thousand
two
hundred
dollars.
The
limit
goes
up
with
additional
household
members.
The
deadline
to
apply
has
been
extended
to
februari
17th
of
2017
and
Luke
applications
approved
now
will
be
for
the
year
2017
current
loop
enrollees
do
not
need
to
do
anything.
