Clarke (5th District), Kenyatta Johnson (2nd District) and Curtis Jones, Jr. (4th District) are are informing the public that the Philadelphia District Attorney is enforcing an ordinance that requires gun owners to report lost or stolen firearms to the Police.
If your firearm is lost or stolen, you could be held responsible for how these missing firearms are used — even if by someone else. Be a responsible citizen — or at least a self-interested one — and report any lost or stolen firearms you are aware of right away.

Philadelphia City Council passed legislation in 2016 requiring safe storage of firearms in households with children. This legislation is now law in the City of Philadelphia.
As Chair of Council's Committee on Public Safety and Co-Chair of the Special Committee on Criminal Justice Reform, Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. (4th District) wants Philadelphia to lead the nation in ending the epidemic of child-related accidental gun deaths.
In order to help Philadelphia residents comply with the law, the City has launched the Gun Lock Safety and Distribution Initiative. Residents can call 215-686-3572 to obtain safe storage information and a FREE gun lock. No questions asked.
