A
A
Miss

of
arms

the

in
the

and
close
doors.
I

of
the
112th
general

of
the
state
of
tennessee
now
in

and

standing
through
the
pledge
of
allegiance
representative
vital
will
introduce
the
chaplain
of
the
day
representative.
B
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
Members
of
the
general
assembly
today
is
the
first
opportunity
I
have
as
an
elected
member
of
this
body
to
speak
before
you.
Thank
you
for
the
hospitality
and
the
warm
welcome.
You
have
provided
me
since
the
passing
of
the
late
representative
mike
carter
and
my
election
in
september.
B
It
has
been
honored
to
serve
with
you
last
several
weeks.
Today.
It
is
my
privilege
to
introduce
pastor
tony
wallacer
senior
pastor
of
silverdale
baptist
church
in
district
29..
Silverdale
is
more
than
a
church.
It
is
a
community
within
itself,
with
four
campuses
in
our
county
and
over
six
thousand
members.
B
B
B
He
has
served
for
27
years.
He
received
his
bachelor's
of
art
and
biblical
studies
from
criswell
college.
In
dallas
and
a
master
of
divinity
from
southwestern
baptist
seminary
in
fort
worth,
texas,
pastor
tony
is
married
to
susan
for
37
years.
They
have
four
children
and
is
the
proud
grandparents
of
four
grandchildren.
B
C
Representative,
thank
you
so
much
for
inviting
me
here
today.
It
is
a
great
honor
to
be
among
such
a
distinguished
group
of
leaders
in
our
state.
I'm
very
thankful
for
each
of
you.
I
know
it
is
a
sacrifice
for
your
ministry
to
our
state
and
I'm
very
thankful
for
you
leading
us
through
difficult
days
ahead.
C
The
snowstorm
this
past
weekend
reminded
me
the
very
first
time
I
went
snow
sledding
in
tennessee,
I'm
a
boy
from
florida,
so
I
didn't
understand,
snow
and
ice
and
we
grabbed
the
inner
tube
and
my
four
kids
and
I
launched
down
the
hill
halfway
down.
I
thought:
how
do
I
stop
this
thing,
and
so
I
began
to
wiggle
a
little
bit
and
then
I
found
myself
going
backwards
down
this
icy
hill,
headed
for
a
ditch
that
is
layered
with
rocks.
C
I
hit
the
rocks,
got
a
few
bruises
punctured,
the
inner
tube,
and
but
that's
an
illustration,
I
think
of
sometimes
how
we
feel
in
our
world
today.
It
feels
like
we're
going
backwards
down
ice
out
of
control
headed
for
rocks.
You
may
have
seen
david
brooks
article
last
week
in
the
new
york
times
entitled
america
is
falling
apart
at
the
seams,
brooks
cites
dozens
of
recent
studies
illustrating
our
social
breakdown.
C
He
says
there
is
more
reckless
driving,
rising
murder
rates,
drug
overdoses
and
alcohol,
use,
there's
more
hate
and
abuse
in
society
at
large,
in
homes
and
in
the
classrooms.
We
have
the
highest
rates
of
depression,
suicide
and
loneliness
in
our
country's
history.
He
cites
two
studies
that
show
that
america
is
a
nation
of
narcissist,
which
explains
why
giving
and
volunteering
to
charities
is
declining
both
in
religious
and
in
secular
causes.
But
the
one
statistic
that
surprised
me,
the
most
was
that
our
nation
has
the
world's
highest
rate
of
children
living
in
single-parent
households.
C
C
I
believe
that
president
abraham
lincoln's
words
during
the
civil
war
illustrate
where
we're
at.
We
have
forgotten
god.
We
have
forgotten
the
gracious
hand,
which
preserved
us
and
give
of
peace
and
multiplied
and
enrich
and
strengthen
us.
We
have
vainly
imagined
in
the
deceitfulness
of
our
hearts
that
all
these
blessings
were
produced
by
some
superior
wisdom
or
virtue
of
our
own
intoxicated
with
unbroken
success.
We
have
become
too
self-sufficient
to
feel
the
necessity
of
redeeming
and
preserving
grace
too
proud
to
pray
to
the
god
that
made
us.
C
I
believe
that
our
society
is
built
on
three
legs:
a
strong
government,
a
strong
family
and
faith
in
god.
I
know
you're,
probably
often
told
you
can't
legislate
morality.
Well,
please
do
not
legistrate
legislate
immorality,
as
canada
has
recently
done
january
8,
a
new
law
went
into
effect
in
canada,
outlawing
biblical
teaching
on
sexuality
and
gender.
C
Saying
that
it's
a
myth,
I
have
seen
the
transforming
power
of
the
gospel
of
jesus
christ
in
hundreds
of
lives.
I've
experienced
it
personally.
I
was
once
an
alcoholic,
and
so
please,
as
our
representatives,
be
pro-faith
and
be
pro-family.
I
want
to
pray
god's
blessing
on
you
now,
dear
heavenly
father.
C
We
look
to
you,
we
need
you,
we
are
broken
and
our
world
is
broken,
but
you
are
good
and
great
and
gracious
and
you've
taught
us
to
pray
your
kingdom
come
your
will
be
done
on
earth
as
it
is
in
heaven.
So
come
and
reign
in
our
lives,
and
in
this
place
you
are
the
one
who
removes
and
establishes
leaders.
C
C
We
look
to
you
for
the
wisdom
that
only
you
can
give
direct.
The
counsels
of
this
honorable
assembly
enable
them
to
settle
the
many
complex
issues
with
your
wisdom,
help
them
establish
laws
that
will
be
based
on
truth,
justice,
faith
and
goodness
so
that
human
flourishing
may
prevail
among
the
people
of
our
state
in
times
of
crisis,
inspire
them
and
speak
through
them
by
the
power
of
your
holy
spirit.
C
Preserve
the
health
of
their
bodies
in
the
vigor
of
their
minds,
bless
and
protect
their
families
from
the
temptations
and
the
accusations
of
this
world
shower
down
on
them
and
the
millions
they
represent,
your
favor
and
blessings.
We
ask
all
this
for
your
glory
and
our
good.
In
the
name
of
your
son
and
our
savior
jesus
christ
amen.
D
B
A
F
Thank
you,
mr
chairman
members.
I
have
your
attention.
I
want
to
honor
a
a
great
tennessean
who
passed
away
last
week.
F
Like
to
take
the
moment
to
recognize
and
remember
a
great
tennessee
and
we
lost
last
week,
the
father
of
our
colleague,
eddie
representative
eddie,
mannis
eddie's,
dad
passed
away.
He
was
90
years
old.
He
was
a
veteran
of
the
united
states
army
during
the
korean
war.
F
G
Griffey,
thank
you,
mr
speaker,
members.
I
wanted
to
take
a
moment
this
morning
to
recognize
a
wonderful
tennessee
parent,
a
citizen
advocate
who
also
happens
to
be
a
country
music,
star
and
singer
and
songwriter,
and
this
tennessee
parent
and
citizen
advocate
was
also
a
winner
of
the
2011
celebrity
apprentice,
which
secured
250
000
for
saint
jude
research
hospital
in
memphis,
and
the
reason
I
want
to
honor
this
citizen
advocate
is
because
he
met
with
governor
lee
and
commissioner
swinn
in
an
effort
to
keep
obscene
and
pornographic
materials
out
of
our
schools
and
libraries.
G
H
Kind
of
a
sad
heart
we
have
a
a
dear
friend
from
county
who
actually
served
in
the
general
assembly
back
in
the
80s.
He
was
a
state
senator
freddie
myers.
He
means
the
world
to
east
tennessee.
He
was
also
a
state
executive
committee
man
for
a
long
time.
One
of
the
neat
things
I
I
love
about
freddie
meyers.
He
was
an
attorney.
He
was
a
city
judge
and
after
he
was
an
attorney,
he
went
into
the
army.
He
joined
the
army
as
an
attorney.
You
don't
hear
people
doing
such
very
often
like
that.
H
He
was
constantly
given
constantly
loving
on
people.
If
you
knew
him,
you
loved
him
and
our
community
is
so
sad
and
we're
brokenhearted.
He
has
a
wonderful
wife
norma
that
we
all
love-
and
I
was
wondering
if
you
all
just
stand
with
me
and
let's
have
a
moment
of
silence
and
honor
of
the
late
senator
freddie,
meyers.
D
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
I'd
like
to
introduce
my
intern
this
year,
who
is
in
the
gallery.
Sherry.
Please
stand
up.
Sherry,
gergis
she's,
a
vanderbilt
student
with
a
triple
major
that
ought
to
make
all
of
you
feel
like
a
bunch
of
slugs
but
she's
looking
at
pre-law.
So
we
welcome
her
to
the
tennessee
general
assembly.
I
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
members.
If
I
could
have
your
attention
please,
dr
jamie
coleman
williams,
former
educator
at
tennessee
state
university
transitioned,
the
other
day
she
was
103
years
old.
I
J
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
members.
I
want
to
welcome
my
new
intern,
miss
alexis
dockery.
If
you
will
stand
up
and
y'all,
please
make
her
feel
welcome.
She
is
from
orange
mound
tennessee,
but
now
she's,
representing
the
north,
welcome.
K
L
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
tomorrow
is
going
to
be
recognized
as
sanctity
of
life
day
in
the
united
states.
Many
of
us
will
be
joining
our
community
efforts
to
walk
in
memory
of
lives
that
were
lost
to
abortion,
and
we
all
know
many
of
us
here
on
this
house
floor,
unite
our
hearts
and
prayer
and
efforts
to
protect
the
lives
of
the
unborn
child.
If
I
could,
mr
speaker
just
request
a
moment
of
silence
in
memory,
chattanooga
is
the
home
of
the
national
memorial
to
the
unborn.
M
Mr
speaker,
thank
you,
as
you
would
know
that
if
you
look
around
one
of
our
senior
members
is
not
on
the
house
floor.
Barbara
cooper
had
to
leave
because
her
cousin
passed
her
cousin
evelyn
pass.
You
got
to
know
the
story.
Barbara
is
a
senior
member
herself.
Evelyn
was
a
senior
women,
our
community,
yet
barbara
cooper
was
taking
care
of
her
for
a
very,
very
long
time.
She
transitioned
a
couple
of
days
ago,
funeral's
going
to
be
in
memphis
this
weekend.
A
K
A
K
K
K
K
E
A
N
A
A
F
O
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
would
like
to
I
moved
to
withdrawal
house
bill
1527
from
the
committee
and
the
house.
A
I
I
Mr
speaker
and
members
representative
hardaway
at
at
my
desk.
P
Right.
Thank
you,
leader,
members.
P
A
F
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
members.
I
have
a
quick
announcement
next
week
in
local
government
committee,
secretary
of
state,
trey,
hargit
and
coordinator
of
election
mark
goins
will
be
giving
a
presentation
to
the
committee
on
tennessee's
current
election
measures.
So
if
you
can
we'd
sure
like
for
you
to
attend,
have
a
good
day.
D
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
just
to
let
everyone
know
that
the
house
finance
committee
budget
hearings
are
going
to
begin
on
february
7th.
We
hope
to
conclude
on
march
the
14th
that
schedule
has
been
sent
to
all
of
your
all
of
you
and
to
your
staff
members.
So
again,
we
would
ask
all
the
finance
members
obviously
to
be
available
for
those
hearings
and
welcome
any
of
you
all
who
would
like
to
hear
directly
from
the
departments
about
the
upcoming
budget.
Thank
you,
representative.
J
Sorry
about
the
prop,
mr
speaker,
but
thank
you
anyway.
I
want
to
remind
everybody:
titus
returns,
if
you
have
ties
that
you
want
to
donate,
and
let
me
thank
the
members
that
have
been
donating
so
far.
We've
got
a
really
good
crop
that
came
in
this
year.
These
are
some
really
really
nice
ties,
so
the
interns
will
be
served
very
well.
Thank
you
again
and
you
can
either
drop
them
off
here
on
my
desk
or
bring
them
to
419
or
just
call
us
and
we'll
come
pick
them
up,
ties
returns
and
it's
coming
up.
Q
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
The
state
department's,
an
agency
subcommittee,
will
hold
all
alcohol
related
legislation
on
march
the
eighth
march,
the
eighth.
So
that
means
you
can
put
on
notice
by
march
2nd.
I
will
send
this
information
via
email.
Thank
you,
representative,
beck.
R
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
just
want
to
remind
everyone
that,
beginning
this
saturday,
our
tennessee
titans
are
starting
their
march
to
the
super
bowl,
so
3
30
central
standard
time
make
sure
to
tune
in
or
be
there
we're
playing
representatives
of
picky's
former
team
of
the
bengals,
and
I
think,
we've
just
about
got
him
over.
R
I
think
we've
just
about
got
him
pulled
over
to
cheer
for
the
titans,
so
let's
cheer
him
on
and
let's
get
to
the
super
bowl.
Thank
you
so
much.
S
Mr
speaker,
first
of
all,
don't
confuse
a
paycheck
with
loyalty.
Okay,
my
loyalty
rests
with
the
tennessee
titans,
as
you
remember,
when
they
came
here
last
time,
we
reminded
them
that
we
look
forward
to
that
super
bowl
parade
down
here
on
broadway.
J
O
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
The
house,
banking
and
consumer
affairs
subcommittee
will
not
be
meeting
this
week.
Our
first
meeting
will
be
on
february
the
2nd
on
groundhog
day.
Our
first
committee
meeting
will
be
on
groundhog
day
our
first
committee
meeting,
with
nick
on
groundhog
day
february,
the
2nd
thank
you.
F
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
hope
my
committee
transportation
sub
meets
before
groundhog
day,
but
for
members
we
will
not
have
a
meeting
next
week
for
transportation
subcommittee.
Thank
you.
S
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
and
for
those
of
you
who
are
going
to
be
roaming
around
next
week,
sad
because
banking
and
transportation
subcommittees
are
not
meeting.
I
welcome
you
all
to
come
on
monday
at
one
o'clock
to
house
hearing
room
one
where
we
can
begin
our
our
learning
journey
about
utility
regulation
in
this
great
state.
I
promise
you
this
topic
will
be
scintillating
and
you
will
all
feel
much
better
about
yourselves
and
your
work
here
on
the
hill.
So
remember,
extra
credit
is
also
provided
for
attending
these
seminars.
