state
of
tennessee

representative

of
the
day
representative
moody.
You
are
recognized.
B
Thank
you,
mr
speaker
and
members
today
february
22nd
in
1732,
george
washington
was
born
our
first
president,
so
I
found
this
prayer
in
a
little
devotional
that
I
love
and
it.
This
devotional
was
put
together
by
a
former
chaplain
of
the
united
states
senate,
lloyd,
john
ogilvy,
and
it's
become
a
very
a
favorite,
a
favorite
of
mine.

A
D
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
speaker
and
members.
If
I
could
have
your
attention
just
a
moment
last
week,
obviously
there's
a
pretty
severe
snow
storm
and,
while
most
of
us
were
snowed
in
or
spending
time
with
work
or
business
and
kind
of
trudging,
through
that
there
were
a
few
dedicated
representatives
that
I
want
to
recognize
that
were
here
in
this
chamber
every
single
day
with
our
speaker
so
representative,
littleton,
eldridge,
reedy,
crawford
moon,
hardaway
and
marsh
we're
here
with
our
speaker,
speaker,
sexton,
and
we
all
appreciate
your
service
last
week.
Keeping
the
government
going
thank
y'all.
E
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
and
as
as
my
good
friend
leader
lamberth
mentioned
a
moment
ago
last
week
was
a
big
snow
event
in
tennessee
and
and
hopefully
for
most
of
us.
That
meant
we
got
to
have
some
fun.
Mr
speaker,
I
saw
you
did
a
little
sledding
down
capitol
hill,
but
but
unfortunately,
that
severe
weather
also
brings
things
that
we're
not
prepared
for
oftentimes
in
tennessee,
and
so,
if
I
could
have
the
members
stand
for
a
moment
of
silence.
Chairman
littleton
and
I
unfortunately
lost
a
man
in
dixon
county.
E
F
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
and
since
we're
talking
about
snowmageddon
21,
let
me
say
as
someone
who
was
one
of
those
people
when
they
said
stay
at
home
and
stay
off
the
roads,
I
was
neither
at
home.
Nor
was
I
off
the
roads,
but
I
can
tell
you
this,
as
I
was
traveling
north
on
I-65
wednesday
night
at
about
12
30.
F
In
the
morning
we
had
been
battling
for
about
four
hours
to
get
through
our
friends
to
the
south,
but
when
we
hit
the
tennessee
state
line,
it
was
like
the
red
sea
had
parted
and
in
front
of
us,
were
four
magnificent
orange
vehicles
clearing
the
way
for
us.
So
I
want
to
give
the
dedicated
men
and
women
of
tdot
a
big
shout
out,
because
I
can
tell
you
what
other
folks
were
driving
on
throughout
the
south.
It
was
not
the
pavement
that
my
four
tires
were
on,
so
thank
you
very
much
for
their
diligent
efforts.
G
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
just
want
to
let
everyone
know.
Last
week
was
a
pretty
tough
week
for
the
democratic
caucus.
Two
of
our
members
lost
their
parents.
Representative
mitchell
lost
his
mother
and
she
was
buried
saturday.
Last
saturday
and
representative
bill
beck
lost,
his
father
was
buried
the
week
before.
So
if
we
could
just
take
a
moment
to
just
reflect,
because
both
those
members
mean
a
lot
to
our
caucus,
and
I
know
that
they
will
miss
their
parents
very
dearly.
H
I
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
As
some
of
you
know,
my
assistant,
michelle
hale,
lost
her
husband
saturday,
steve
and,
if
you
wouldn't
mind
I'd
like
for
everybody
to
stand,
let's
have
a
brief
moment
of
silence
for
her.
I
Yeah,
thank
you,
mr
speaker
and
yeah.
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
so
many
of
the
members.
You
know
we
have.
We
have
our
family
and
then
we
have
this
family
here
and
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
this
family,
for
everyone's
gracious
prayers
calls
texts
and
flowers.
I
appreciate
it.
Thank
you
all
so
much.
J
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
got
some
news
in
my
office
earlier
that
in
mcnary
county
in
my
district
there
was
a
young
child
that
fell
through
a
ice
in
a
pond
and
and
died
from
that
incident,
and
it's
a
very
unfortunate
thing
for
any
parent
to
go
through.
And
if
we
could
just
spend
a
moment
of
silence
here
to
honor
that
family
and
that.
