From YouTube: ASD School Board Communications Committee Meeting 8-3-22
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
So,
thank
you,
everyone
for
joining
us
for
our
communications
committee
meeting.
I
wanted
to
acknowledge
that
we
have
member
holloman
in
the
room
along
with
myself,
remember
wilson
online.
We
have
member
bellamy
and
member
jacobs
in
the
rooms,
our
staff.
We
have
rob
holland,
mj
tim
mike
fleckenstein,
andy
ratliff,
jim
anderson,
katie,
grant,
amanda
foster
and
janet
haynes,
and
also
thank
you
for
joining
us
for
corey
as
well,
so
just
wanted
to
be
respectful
of
everybody's
time.
I
appreciate
everyone
coming
out.
A
B
Give
us
an
update
thanks
and
I'm
just
really
excited
to
see
everybody
in
the
room.
This
is
a
great
turnout,
so
good
indication
for
and.
B
So
I'm
going
to
do
asd
connect,
but
it's
going
to
be
more
roped
into
back
to
school,
so
we,
the
district,
did
some
new
things
this
year
with
back
to
school,
and
I
don't
know
if
anybody's
noticed,
we've
got
some
external
messaging
at
our
at
school,
so
I'll,
just
kind
of
start
with
what
we've
done.
We
framed
a
campaign
this
year
that
had
digital
and
and
hard
copy
elements.
In
terms
of
communication,
we
created
a
a
web
page
specifically
dedicated
to
back
to
school.
B
We
worked
on
the
top
topics
that
we
that
we
felt
would
be
of
high
interest
for
our
families
when
it
came
to
back
to
school.
So
we
really
wanted
to
get
outside
of
your
st
your
traditional
enrollment
and
registration
areas
and
highlight
the
different
aspects
that
a
lot
of
our
families
encounter
when
it
comes
to
back
to
school.
In
addition
to
that,
we
had
our
health
component
here
with
the
pandemic
last
year,
so
we
knew
we
needed
to
add
that
into
the
conversation
along
with
some
other
things,
including
budget.
B
So
it
really
is
just
a
just
a
broad
overview
of
really
where
we
are
as
a
district
when
it
comes
to
back
to
school.
So
on
the
website.
The
theme
here
is,
you
know,
sort
is
following
your
path
to
success.
B
B
We
took
our
flyers
that
we
did
last
year
because
the
anchorage
daily
news's
traditional
insert,
was
on
hold
due
to
the
pandemic,
but
they
relaunched
that
this
year,
so
we
had
a
double
whammy
and
that
publication
got
published
on
sunday
and
at
the
same
time
our
district
mailers
went
out
in
the
mail
and
started
to
get
into
our
family's
mailboxes
this
week
as
well.
We
also
have
digital
buys
online,
that
you'll
see
on
social
media
and
other
websites
that'll
pop
up.
B
We
also
have
radio
buys
that
are
blasted
through
all
the
radio
stations
here
in
the
market
as
well,
and
then
we
also
will
be
doing
hyper,
focused
media
interviews
this
week
and
into
next
week,
and
those
hyper
focuses
are
the
areas
such
as
transportation
student,
nutrition,
wellness
with
a
focus
on
mental
health,
because
that's
brand
new
for
us
this
year
as
well.
B
In
addition
to
dr
bryant,
and
so
those
are
going
to
start
the
end
of
this
week
and
then
move
into
next
week
and
then
the
following
week.
Is
we
start
back
to
school
on
the
18th,
so
we'll
have
another
hit
with
a
messaging
that'll
come
during
that
time,
and
then
the
campaign
itself
is
scheduled
to
wrap
up
on
the
26th.
B
The
reason
why
we
wanted
to
do
that
was
because
the
school
year
starts
on
a
thursday,
and
so
reality
is,
is
that
we'll
have
our
first
full
week
of
back
to
school
the
following
week,
so
we
wanted
to
just
do
some
more
amplification
with
those
messages
in
that.
So
the
other
piece
here
is
we're.
Gonna.
Have
dr
bryant
put
a
letter
into
asd
connect
that
launches
on
friday
and
so
asd
connect
is
gonna,
be
all
things
back
to
school.
It's
going
to
be
a
real.
B
We
are
we've
outreached
to
the
food
bank
to
try
to
see
if
we
can
work
on
some
partnering
with
them
for
some
additional
support
with
our
student
nutrition
program,
they're
going
to
come
back
to
us
this
week
with
some
ideas.
So
maybe
hopefully
we
can
get
some
partnership
messaging
in
around
that
dr
brian's
letter
that
is
going
to
go
into
asd
connect
we'll
also
push
that
out
on
our
blackboard
platforms
and
also
submit
that
to
our
local
publications
for
an
op-ed.
B
With
an
up
with
that,
I
also
wanted
to
recommend
that
the
board
considered
doing
an
op-ed
as
well
this
month
to
complement
dr
bryant's
message
in
the
spirit
of
all
back
to
school
and
really
getting
our
community
focused
and
ready
to
support
us
in
our
next
school
year.
So
that's
back
to
school
in
the
nutshells.
They
may
have
any
questions.
A
D
A
B
Just
back
to
school,
we've
got
other
things
happening,
but
we
just
really
wanted
to
do
something
different
and
really
expand
our
communications
to
our
families
and
get
them
excited
with
back
to
school,
and
one
of
the
new
things
that
we
tried
this
year
are
billboards
and
banners
that
went
around
to
about
30
schools,
I
believe,
and
what
we
did.
We
did
10
billboards,
and
so
we
took
the
idea.
Was
we
took
this
school
bond
messaging
concept?
B
So
if
you
guys
remember
when
we
did
school
bonds,
we
would
put
these
large
billboards,
which
is
the
same
size
as
the
big
political
signs
that
you're
seeing
nowadays
at
the
top
intersections.
So
that
concept
is
a
billboard
would
go
in
front
of
a
school
that
was
going
to
be
a
benefit
from
a
school
bond.
We
took
that
concept
and
applied
it
to
the
back
to
school.
B
We
did
10
billboards
and
we
did
20
banners
and
the
banners
are
more
of
the
rectangle
size,
and
so
we
took
those
banners
and
we
took
ten
of
those
banners
and
did
five
in
samoan
and
five
in
spanish.
B
We
wanted
to
try
and
work
towards
meeting
our
families.
We
tout
that
we
are
diverse
and
I
wanted
to
honor
that
and
try
some
different
messaging
targeting
those
families
and
meeting
them
on
their
first
language
rather
than
their
second
language.
B
So
we
connected
with
our
translation
folks
and
they
said
the
best
approach
for
the
first
time
is
to
go
with
spanish
and
samoan,
so
we're
gonna,
that's
the
direction
that
we
went
in,
but
the
overall
goal
is
to
have
all
our
properties
have
a
back
to
school,
banner
or
billboard
attached
to
it
with
more
diverse
languages
attached
to
it.
So
we
would
increase
samoan
in
spanish
next
year
and
then
add
in
two
more
languages
as
well.
To
start
to
do
that,
what
you
will
see
online
is
a
transition
out.
B
So
this
week
we
have
english
next
week
we're
going
to
transition
into
spanish
on
social
and
then
the
following
week,
we'll
transition
into
samoan
and
do
a
little
rotation
just
to
kind
of
keep
that
out
there
and
helping
us
meet
our
families
on
those
levels.
D
D
And
also
member
leslie's
joined
online.
Oh
thank.
C
Yes,
thank
you,
madam
chair.
I
I
don't
have
a
question
I
just
wanted
to,
and
I
see
remember
jacobs
is
in
the
house.
C
He
is
working
on
the
op
ed
that
was
referenced
earlier,
and
so
he
I
I
will
work
with
him
and
we
are
hoping
that
that
comes
from
the
entire
board,
which
means
that
once
we
do
the
edits,
we
would
have
to
have
amanda
get
gather
signatures
or
or
at
least
permission
from
all
of
the
from
each
board
member
and
the
the
adn
spread
was
great
on
sunday.
Thank
you.
I.
C
I
just
think
that
the
overall
back
to
school
excitement
is
really
wrapped
up
in
the
messaging
and-
and
I
really
like
that-
I
just
got
off
a
phone
call
with
a
constituent
who
shared
a
couple
of
kudos
to,
and
they
were
all
around
communication
and
transparency.
So
I
I
just
wanted
to
to
share
that.
Thank
you.
C
B
Yeah
I
just
we
were
just
talking
we're
like
what,
if
we
we
tout
our
diversity,
how
we
are,
are
we
showcasing
that
and
I'm
like
well?
Are
we
communicating?
You
know
we
got
a
lot
of
families
that
second
language
is
english,
so
how
can
we
meet
them
on
their
first
language
and
so
that's
really
kind
of
like
the
concept
and
they're
like
okay?
Well,
let's
just
take
a
chunk
of
these
banners
and
and
and
change
it
up.
You
know
and
then
we're
like
okay,
we'll
go
to
christine,
like
christine
here's
what
we
want
to
do.
A
E
Thank
you,
madam
chair
mj,
just
wanted
to
give
your
team
kudos
for
everything
you're
doing
I
as
well
notice
amount
of
effort
put
in
to
go
back
to
super
school
messaging
as
well
as
just
generally
speaking,
communication.
I'm
glad
to
hear
that
we
reached
out
to
the
food
bank.
E
I
see
us
post
on
social
media
regularly
with
a
couple
community
partners
and
cops
for
community.
I
see
on
a
fairly
regular
basis.
I
I
really
hope
we
continue
to
collaborate
and
engage
with
stakeholders
who
are
already
in
the
trenches
with
us
doing
the
work.
E
I
do
like
the
idea
of
taking
a
communication
model
that
we're
using
as
a
district
come
on
time
and
and
using
that
to
message
other
times
of
the
year
as
well.
So
it's
not
just
about
an
ask,
but
it's
almost
transitioning
asd
from
an
entity
that
exists
to
something
that's
service
oriented
that
which
is
is
what
we
need
to
be
and
that's
focused
on
providing
outreach
and
connecting
with
folks
on
a
deeper
level.
So
a
huge
fan
of
everything
was
presented.
Thank
you.
B
Thanks
so
to
to
your
point,
member
jacobs,
the
the
clothesline
project
is
saturday.
So
what
we
did?
We
partnered
up
with
anchors
cops
for
community
and
became
a
co-host
on
a
couple
platforms
for
them.
So
we'd
amplify
that
and
then
we'll
have
representation
there
as
well.
A
Oh,
thank
you
so
much.
I
appreciate
your
update
and
we'll
move
on
to
the.
A
C
C
Can
share
it,
you
guys
can
share
it,
and
basically,
this
is
just
we.
We
we
adopted
this
calendar
last
in
the
fall
and
and
it's
a
it
kind
of
lays
out
the
year
when
it
comes
to
the
intent,
is
to
lay
out
how
we're
going
to
have
two-way
engagements
with
our
stakeholders,
and
so
what
you
see
is
as
a
reminder,
because
it's
all
this
is
we
put
this
in
place
as
a
I,
I
don't
know
andy.
If
we
called
it
a
pilot.
What
did
we
call
it?
C
I
because
we
didn't,
I
don't
know
I
I
think,
did
we
adopt
it
katie.
I
can't
remember.
C
Yeah
and
so,
as
you
see
for
each
month,
we
have
we
list,
what's
going
to
happen
that
month
in
terms
of
advisory
committee,
community,
council,
federation
of
community
council
chamber
meetings,
I
mean
board,
members
are
have
committed
to
making
sure
that
they
are
engaging
in
in
their
assigned
areas
of
town,
especially
with
those
community
councils,
and
then
the
next
piece
are
reports.
C
These
are
actually
committees
that
I
mean
the
advisory
committees
for
the
superintendent
and
we
have
kathy,
and
I
are
working
with
them
to
make
sure
that
they
are
that
they
are
ready.
They
only
have.
We
only
have
one
presentation,
it's
kind
of
it
rotates.
So
as
you'll
see
for
september.
C
We
expect,
of
course,
our
student
advisory
board
and
the
military
report
student
advisory
board
will
report
every
single
meeting.
The
military
is
only
the
first
of
the
month
and
then
we
will
rotate
we,
those
so
those
are
kind
of
the
staples,
and
then
we
will
add
a
a
report
from
or
at
least
an
opportunity
to
chat
with
our
multicultural
education
concerns
committee
and
every
and
then
you'll
see
the
native
advisory
committee.
C
Those
will
be
just
not.
Those
are
monthly,
very
brief,
go
goal
focused
presentations,
and
so
that's
what
we've
done
and
that's
what
we
are
hoping
to
continue
unless
you
want
to
make
some
changes,
you
will
also
see
the
joint
our
joint
meetings
and,
in
that
far
column,
this
year
is
probably
going
to
look
differently
because
of
all
the
budget
information
and
outreach
that
we're
going
to
have
to
do
so
when
we
know
what
that
is,
we
can
plug
it
in
here
right
now.
C
This
reflects
where
we
work
what
we
did
last
year.
So
there
is
opportunities
to
update
this.
I
have
found
it
very,
very
useful
and
I
think
we
can-
and
I
just
wanted
to
number
one-
remind
everybody
and
number
two
accept
feedback
if
there
is
any.
Thank
you,
madam
chair,
thank.
F
E
E
I
know
that
through
the
council
of
great
city
schools,
we're
focusing
our
meetings
on
student
outcomes,
which
is
great,
that
we've
recognized
that
the
board
meetings
are
intended
for
that
purpose,
and
so
we
have
to
be
intentional
about
interacting
with
the
community
and
stakeholders
outside
of
those
two
meetings
per
month.
E
Community
councils
are
great
and
we've
passed
that
more
policy
to
increase
and
bolster
attendance,
but
I
don't
think
the
I
think
there's
still
a
gap
and
room
to
improve
with
the
board
directly
connecting
with
staff,
and
so
I
noticed
that
we
have
a
couple
months
vacant
on
that
calendar
in
the
far
right
column,
where
there's
a
town
hall
opportunity.
I
would
like
maybe
twice
over
the
course
of
the
school
year,
I'm
throwing
one
of
those
on
there,
where
the
board
can
connect
directly,
maybe
one's
digital
ones
in
person.
C
And-
and
that
and
that's
a
great
point
number
oh
man,
madam
chair,
yes,
please
that's
a
great
point
because
where
it's
in
august
last
year
we
did
do
a
back
to
school
webinar
to
go
over
the
back
to
school,
so
we
did
have
two
webinars.
Actually
we
had
several
webinars,
but
they
weren't
all
necessarily
focused
on
to
do
what
you
us,
what
you
suggest
remember
jacob.
So
we
can
we
can.
C
We
can
take
a
look
and
figure
out
where
we
want
to
put
those
and
how
and
what
we
want
those
to
look
like,
but-
and
I
would
suggest
we
do
webinars
what
I
because
I
think
with
parents.
It
is
very
and
working
like
with
our
ell
families.
You
know
some
people
will
come
in
person,
but
more
people
will
log
on
because
they
have
so
much
that
that's
on
their
plate
that
they're
trying
to
get
done.
C
So
the
webinar
tends
to
give
everybody
some
flexibility
and
opportunity
to
to
to
have
a
conversation
and
submit
questions
in
advance
and
then,
if
and
then
we
recorded
it.
I
know
we
recorded
them
in
the
past
so
that
people
can
go
back
and
look
so
yeah
I'll
I'll
figure
out
I'll
come
back
with
some
suggestions
on
where
those
webinars
might
be
for
families
carl
did
you
intend
one
for
families
and
then
a
separate
one
for
staff,
or
are
we
just
doing
an
inclusive
one?.
E
Yeah
I
mean
so
I,
through
our
we
discussed
yesterday
during
our
work
session.
We
we
plan
a
pretty
intensive
and
intentional
engagement
with
the
community
over
the
next
four
months
regarding
finances.
E
So
I
think
we
we're
going
to
have
that
pretty
well
covered
for
at
least
the
first
half
of
the
year,
but
I
imagine
again
would
that
what
that
didn't
cover
necessarily
and
where
I
think
we
have
that
room
is
to
make
sure
we're
intentional
about
connecting
with
staff
to
as
a
board
and
so
yeah,
I'm
all
for
town
halls
for
parents,
especially
those
we
might
not
see
as
frequently
at
board
meetings.
E
C
Okay,
thank
you.
I
will
bring
back
and
update
it
in
a
couple
of
couple
of
months-
probably
won't
be
next
month,
but
the
next
month.
A
A
couple
of
things
that
president
belde
and
vice
president
jacobs
had
mentioned
is
the
community
outreach
at
a
deeper
level?
Mj?
Can
you
and
not
necessarily
this
meeting
but
maybe
next
meeting?
Could
you
share
what
kind
of
outreach
how
outreach
is
tracked
within
the
district,
because
I
think
part
of
the
opportunity
for
the
board
is
to
tag
along
with
outreach
activities
that
are
being
done
in
the
district?
A
B
Yeah,
well
I
mean
I
just
tell
you
so
for
folks
that
don't
know
so
communications
and
community
outreach
is,
is
the
title
for
my
for
my
team
and
it's
been
all
communications
for
me
for
the
last
nine
months,
I
guess
and
and
community
outreach
has
just
been
on
the
back
burner,
and
so
I
don't
have
any
answers
in
terms
of
what
we're
doing.
B
A
No,
that
would
be
awesome
that,
like
I
said,
oh
marco
hesser,
oh
president,
bellamy.
C
And-
and
I
guess
I
I
would
ask
mj
if
when
you're
you
know,
we
we
have,
the
board
has
really
you
have
been
very
responsive
to
the
board
and
and
so
I'm
just
thinking
you
know
if,
if,
if
you
don't
have
enough
staff
to
do
that
piece
because
that's
a
new
piece,
each
one
of
those
pieces
is
a
full-time
job
and
then
you
add
up
the
mix,
it
gets.
F
C
Crazy,
and
so
I
would
be
interested
to
know
what
your
thoughts
are
at
some
point
and
it
may
not
be
until
after
we
get
through
the
budget
stuff,
but
going
back
to
member
jake
jacobs
inquiry
regarding
whether
or
not
we
are.
We
need
to
have
more
support
for
you
so
that
we
can
achieve
our
goals,
because
community
engagement
for
us
is
is
is
important,
but
it,
but
so
is
communication.
I
don't
want
to
choose.
A
A
What
is
what
is
going
on
in
the
district
and
how
it's
tracked,
and
rather
than
each
pocket,
doing,
maybe
overlapping
that
outreach
trying
to
find
ways
to
connect
so
that
it's
reaching
more
people
more
of
our
community.
B
A
So,
thank
you.
Anybody
else
at
the
table
have
any
comments
on
community
engagement
outreach.
I
was
just.
E
Going
to
say
briefly,
I
mean
it
sounds
like
some
of
the
steps
you're
doing
will
make
other
languages
heard
more
often
and
I'm
I'm
kind
of
aware.
I
grew
up
as
a
childhood
suburbs.
It's
my
natural
habitat,
I'm
mostly
here
in
english,
but
I'm
real
aware
that
there
are
moments
in
places
in
anchorage
where
you
hear
other
languages
a
lot
and
then
it's
not
our
school,
so
much
unless
you're
in
a
language
class.
I
I
do
think
it
would
take
steps.
A
A
So
we
can
go
ahead
and
move
on
to
our
legislative,
2023
legislative
priorities.
President
bellamy,
would
that
be
something
that
you
want
to
start.
C
Yeah
I
can-
or
you
know
I
can-
and
actually
it's
just
a
it's
just
a
reminder,
or
at
least
being
I
want
people
to
just
anticipate
and
start
thinking
about.
You
know
what
are
our
priorities.
They
have
not
been
drastically
different
for
the
last,
maybe
couple
of
years
this
year.
We
I
think
we
got
we
did
you
know
we,
we
shared
the
the
priorities
of
I
mean
they
were.
C
There
was
like
very
little
light
between
our
priorities
and
the
state
association's
priorities
and
other
district
priorities,
except
except
in
a
few
cases,
and
so,
but
for
ase.
We
just
need
to
start
thinking
about
what
are
those
priorities,
and
I
was
gonna
talk
with
amanda
about
setting
up
a
google
doc
of
some
kind.
C
I
actually
need
training
on
google
docs,
but
I
think
we
need
to
have
a
way
for
board
members
to
share
their
thoughts
on
different
topics
without
having
to
bombard
amanda's
and
katie's
box
or
amanda's
box,
and
it
this
seems
like
a
good
chance,
a
good
opportunity
for
us
to
try
to
do
something
like
that.
C
So
that
way,
as
you
think
about
your
priorities,
as
you
think
about
ideas
for
op-eds,
as
you
think
about
you
know
anything,
we
could
have
a
way
to
capture
that,
and
you
can
put
it
in
yourself
as
opposed
to
for
it
to
to
send
it
to
me
and
and
amanda
and
then-
and
I
just
I
just
think
that
we
can
do
that-
a
little
bit
better,
but
now's
the
time
to
start
thinking
and
if
we
can
find
a
way
to
capture
that
this
does
not
disrupt
amanda's
day
and
and
thinking
and
training.
C
That
would
be
great
so
and
we
need
to
select
a
date
for
the
luncheon,
and
I
think
katie
may
have
some
information
on
that
on
that
so
and
we'll
have
all
new,
not
all
new,
but
we'll
have
a
lot
of
new
legislators,
and
so
you
won't
know
your
your
legislators,
as
they
were
last
year,
are
still
that
those
same
people
now,
but
in
december
it
will
be
different.
D
I
think
it
was
actually
it's
a
friday
that
that
is
that
we
we
proposed
two,
so
the
municipality
proposed
two
dates
because
they
could
not
accommodate
the
ninth,
the
second
and
the
sixteenth,
I
believe,
and
so
the
second
is
the
date
that
works
best
for
king
tech,
for
the
culinary
students.
So
once
it's
confirmed
by
this
committee
that
that's
the
date
that
the
board
wants
for
the
legislative
luncheon
we
amanda
and
I
can
connect
with
chef
murray
over
there
and
set
the
plans
of
motion
and
the
king
tech
side.
D
A
C
Normally,
as
a
chair
you,
you
know,
you
just
need
another
person
to
agree
with
you
who
are
who's
on
the
committee,
that
that
is
the
date
that
we
want
to
yeah.
Okay,
you
pretty
much.
Madam
chair,
you
and
your
committee
perfect.
E
Yeah,
thank
you,
man.
I'm
sure
I
just
wanted
to
dovetail
what
president
bellamy
mentioned
and
really
make
sure
we're
thinking
about
it.
Now,
as
we
are,
you
know
putting
dots
on
the
board
as
to
what
we
might
want
for
legislative
priorities
and
how
we
want
to
revise
the
document
with
redistricting
all,
but
one
of
the
state
races
will
be
on
the
ballot.
This
fall.
E
It's
not
out
of
the
realm
of
possibility
that
there's
going
to
be
something
like
30
percent
turnover
in
juneau,
and
so
some
of
that
will
will
occur
here
in
anchorage
as
well
due
to
redistricting.
I
think
that
there's
value
in
trying
to
make
sure
the
message
is
simple,
straightforward
and
the
asks
are
reasonable.
E
You
know,
maybe
it's
me
being
an
optimist,
but
I
feel
with
a
a
new
delegation.
Maybe
the
argument
for
a
district
cost
factor-
and
you
know
a
simple
argument
for
something
like
getting.
Our
fair
share
is
going
to
resonate
well
or
should
at
least,
and
so
I
know
we
live
in
the
weeds
as
a
board,
but
just
keep
keeping
that
in
mind,
I
think,
would
be
beneficial
as
we
continue
to
tinker
with
that
document.
Thank
you.
A
No
thank
you
and
that'll
be
something
we
definitely
want
to
put
some
time
into
reviewing
any
requested
changes
for
next
meeting
since
november.
F
Lessons
yeah,
thank
you.
I
just
wanted
to
echo,
remember
jacob's
concern
for
our
emphasis
on
or
interested
in
our
emphasis
on
the
district
cost
factor
situation.
C
Think
I
really
would
like
I'm
going
to
come
over
for
somebody
to
train
me
in
google
docs,
because
I
I
still
I
think
I
get
it,
but
then
I
I
just
it's
just
not
doing
what
I
don't
know
how
to
set
up
anything
anyway.
It's
crazy,
but
it
it.
It
is
a
way
of
the
future
and
I'd
like
being
able
to
go
in
and
add
my
comments
and
know
that
I've
captured
them
for
somebody
else
to
deal
with
right.
So
thank
you.
A
A
Our
legislative
priorities,
our
legislative
luncheon-
is
there
any
objection
to
friday
december
2nd
for
legislative
luncheon,
so
we
can
nail
down
that
date,
no
objections.
I
guess
we're
going
to
go
with
friday
december
2nd
cool.
I
like
the
convenience,
the
back
to
school,
op
ed
from
the
board
is
on
the
agenda.
Remember
jacobs.
Did
you
want
to
say
anything.
E
A
E
Yeah,
thank
you
ma'am
track
and
lead
off
with
an
apology.
I
intended
this
item
in
this
space
to
be
a
place
where
we
could
review
the
op-ed.
Unfortunately,
I
got
sick
here
a
few
days
ago.
I
just
haven't
been
feeling
well
and
the
work
product
I
would
have
presented
for
the
committee
wouldn't
have
been
intelligible,
so
I'm
going
to
take
another
day
or
two.
E
My
intention
is
to
get
you,
madam
chair
and,
madam
president,
a
rough
draft
that
we
can
then
tinker
with
and
then
maybe
send
to
mj's
team
for
further
refinement
and
then
with
the
idea
that
we
can
conduct
kind
of
a
quasi-board
poll.
Once
we
have
a
finished
product
that
amanda
can
take
to
each
board
member,
where
they'll
officially
sign
off
and
add
their
name,
and
I
would
agree
with
president
bellamy
that
I
think
it's
important
to
come
from
the
full
board.
E
So
I'm
making
sure
it's
as
as
basic
fact,
based
and
non-controversial
as
possible,
which
shouldn't
be
that
hard.
If
we're
focusing
on
back
to
school
or
goals
and
guardrails
and
working
to
you
know,
send
that
message
out
to
the
community
so
should
have
more
soon.
Here
in
the
next
day
or
two.
A
Thank
you
thank
you,
and
did
anybody
else
have
anything
to
add
starting
off
so
we'll
move
on
to
new
business
last
thing
on
the
agenda
new.
C
Just
that
last
night,
as
I
was
leaving
the
boardroom,
steve
benton,
clothesline
the
clothesline
event,
and
I'm
not
sure
that
that's
on
our
calendar,
but
it's
it's
a
a
community
based
project.
I
think
with
several
organizations
and
apd
that
will
hand
out,
and
so
I
don't
I
don't
have
the
details
of
it.
But
but
it
sounds
like
something
that
board
members
might
be
interested
in
attending.
A
B
I'll
put
on
my
apd
hat,
so
this
is
so.
This
is
through
the
anchorage
costs
for
community,
which
is
the
police
unions
organization,
and
they
do
multiple
community
outreach
events
throughout
the
year.
This
started
up
a
couple
years
ago
to
outreach
to
families
who
need
additional
support
for
back
to
school.
B
It
is
over
at
clark,
middle
school
and
before
we
were
over
at
tacottnu
takatenu,
so
the
gist
of
it
is
is
that
it's
a
space
for
families
to
come
and
get
their
school
needs
met
for
free,
and
so
it's
everything
from
school
supplies
such
as
pencils
and
papers,
all
the
way
down
to
clothes,
and
when
I
say
clothes,
it's
underwear
and
socks
as
well,
and
so
they
it's
a
bunch
of
volunteers
that
met
that
booth,
multiple
locations
at
around
in
and
around
clark,
so
families
can
come
in
and
they
go
through
and
and
they
get
what
they
they
need.
B
F
A
E
And
so
yeah,
just
in
terms
of
new
business
first
I'll
just
provide
a
closing
thought
on
the
cops
for
community,
and
that
was
what
I
was
trying
to
touch
on
earlier
mj.
I
think
that
what
we're
doing
with
this
particular
event
is
great.
I
would
like
to
see
that
the
same
template
be
used
for
other
events,
I'm
thinking
of
the
recent
acbe
backpack
giveaway
that
we
were
at
least
participate
on
some
level.
I
think
that
we
provided
donations
or
something
like
that.
I
know
I
intended
member
lessons
attended.
E
I
think
they
gave
away
1800
backpacks
to
asd
students
who
needed
one
such
a
huge
difference
in
the
community.
You
know
happening
overnight,
so
the
folks
who
are
already
doing
the
work.
If
we
can
partner
with
them
and
amplify
their
message,
that's
something
I
I
wholeheartedly
support.
So
that's
that's
what
I
was
trying
to
get
to
earlier.
Hopefully,
that's
not
clear,
the
other
new
business.
E
I
don't
know
if
it's
a
new
business
item
in
general,
but
I
I
know
I've
repeatedly
encouraged
social
media
engagement
with
folks
who
comment
or
interact
with
our
posts.
I
just
wanted
again
to
give
mj
ms
team
kudos
for
the
work
they're
doing
in
that
regard.
I'm
seeing
a
difference,
and
it's
night
and
day
between
you
know
what
we
have
now
and
a
year
ago,
like
in
the
transition
to
truly
a
service
organization.
E
I
think
is
it's
becoming
invisible
and
it's
really
really
heartening
the
one
of
the
changes
we
made
as
a
board,
maybe
through
administration,
I'm
not
sure
if
it's
something
katie's
doing
or
if
it's
something
comms
is
doing.
But
we
added
bookmarks
to
our
youtube
feeds
sometime
last
fall,
and
I
think
that,
with
the
goal
of
making
the
portions
of
the
meeting
more
accessible,
I
saw
on
our
social
media.
E
E
E
D
A
Not
necessarily
new
business,
but
in
when
we're
talking
about
outreach,
I
think
I
would
like
to
add
a
maybe
an
item
to
the
agenda
where
we
have
the
opportunity
to
highlight
things
like
cops
for
community
the
the
clothesline
project
or
highlight
that
these
partners
in
the
community
that
are
doing
things
for
our
families
or
for
our
kids,
the
opportunities
for
board
members
or
staff
from
asd
to
participate
in
and
highlight
things
that
they
they
are
doing.
You
know
the
many
tables
they
set
up
and
events
they
visit
and
help
with
and
volunteer
at.
A
I
know
steve's
volunteering,
its
clothesline
projects,
so
just
maybe
a
list
of
kind
of
community
activities
that
are
upcoming
and
those
that
have
already
happened.
A
Okay,
our
communications
committee
agenda.
I
know
many
of
us
cover
that
in
our
community
comments,
but
just
it's
it's
a
communications
committee.
I
would
like
to
be
able
to
highlight
the
many
things
that
the
district
is
doing
and
that
the
board
is
doing
for.
C
That
is
the
exact
reason
why
we,
you
know
the
community
update,
is
no
longer
an
item
for
for
the
board.
That's
why
we
joined
inside
I
mean
what
did
what
did
we
do?
Was
it
inside
asd.
E
Sorry
yeah.
B
If
you
don't
mind,
if
I
can,
we
changed,
we
switched
it
up.
We
just
made
it
more
efficient
and
combined
the
resources,
so
the
district
and
the
board
can
utilize
asd
connect
as
that
resource,
slash
tool
to
communicate
to
help
communicate.
C
Exactly
and
and
my
other
thought
was,
you
know
as
we
get
invitations.
Instead
I
mean
that
come
to
the
board.
We
have
basically
been
just
putting
those
invitations
on
the
calendar
and
just
just
to
protect
ourselves
from
the
under
the
opens
meetings.
Act
because
we
don't
know
if
board
members
are
interested,
but
the
way
this
board
has
been
operating.
There's
I
mean
really
for
any
given
event
community
event.
You
can
expect
about
four
board
members
to
show
up.
C
That's
just
the
way
it's
been
this
year
this
last
year,
not
not
so
we
we
will
continue
to
do
that.
Madam
chair,
making
sure
that
we
anticipate
board
interests
as
best
we
can
and
put
it
on
the
calendar
as
an
option
for
board
members.
I
don't
know
that
we
want
to.
C
I
mean
I'm
not
interested,
I'm
not
interested
personally
in
being
required
to
attend
them,
but
I
do
think
knowing
and
and
doing
going
when
you
can.
C
A
So
remember
bellamy.
I
just
wanted
to
clarify
I'm
not
asking
that
we
put
it
on
the
agenda
so
that
we
make
sure
that
board
members
or
staff
attend
it's
more
just
a
matter
of
highlighting
things
that
the
community
is
doing
for
our
kids,
oh
yeah
and
our
families.
I'm
sorry
an
additional
opportunity
to
highlight.
C
A
A
To
be
very
active,
yes,
I
I
would
like
the
opportunity
to
recognize.
I
know
cory.
Aced
your
head
your
hand
up.
He
wanted
to
add
something.
I
was
asking
for
clarification,
so
I
get
the
point
about
highlighting
the
community
contributions
to
asd
grads.
I
heard
you
say:
are
you
looking
for
ways
that
asd
staff
all
staff
are
volunteering
in
the
community
as
well?
At
events
I
I
would
love
to
hear
about
that
because
oftentimes
oftentimes,
I
don't
get
to
hear
about
what
staff
members
are
doing
in
the
community.
A
So
anyone
else,
let's
start
online
kelly,
margot
or
carl,
that
has
anything
to
add.
B
I
do
I
just
wanted
to
touch
base
so
ursa
major.
So
if
you
guys,
we
have
a
website
dedicated
so
just
a
higher
level.
The
concept
here
is:
we
really
want
to
use
our
website
as
the
end-all
be-all
for
information
for
our
families.
So
I'm
just
going
to
use
ursa,
major
and
really
back
to
school
as
well.
B
B
So
it's
not
necessarily
going
to
be
on
a
community-wide
vibe
we're
now
going
to
do
a
deeper
dive
and
get
in
and
hyper
focus
on
those
communities
with
the
information
that
that
they
need
at
this
time.
So
that's
going
to
be
the
transition
and
we're
going
to
we've
got
a
meeting
set
up
here
in
the
next
couple
days
with
the
four
principals
involved
to
start
to
outreach
and
support
them
in
their
needs
and
then
to
member
lessons.
B
We
did
the
update
on
the
wellness
policy
application,
so
we
added
those
nuggets
that
you
asked
last
night
and
in
addition,
we've
got
the
the
social
media
and
a
couple
other
things
rocking
and
rolling.
With
that.
F
A
F
I
just
wanted
to
flag
november.
I
think
it's
scheduled,
or
last
time
I
saw
was
scheduled
for
thanksgiving,
so
you
might
want
to
begin.
