currently
not

I
hear
he's

Tomorrow
night
we
have
the
first
Antioch
High
School
versus
Deer
Valley,
and
what
was
formerly
known
as
the
mayor's
cup
is
now
been
rebranded
to
be
the
sports
legends
cup
that
is
tomorrow
night
at
seven
o'clock,
P.M
at
Deer,
Valley,
High
School,
and
we
would
love
to
see
you
there
and
finally,
I'd
like
to
wish
everyone.
A
very
happy
fall
break.
We've.
E
Good
evening
board,
so
tonight
we
have
free
months
and
I
had
a
chance
to
preview
their
video
I
loved
hearing.
All
of
the
individual
comments
made
by
members
of
staff
and
students
and
such
and
I
think
I
saw
the
administration
from
that
school.
Sneak
in
and
so
they're
here
this
evening
as
well
too.
I
think
just
share
what
how
they're
feeling
about
their
school,
how
others
are
feeling
about
it
and
maybe
to
ask
and
answer
any
questions
that
you
may
have
after
but
I'll.
Let
that
go
to
jail.
I
Presentation
is
a
wonderful
View
and
perspective
from
staff,
students
and
parents
so
that
you
can
get
a
feel
of
what
the
community
is
at
Fremont,
Elementary,
School
and
I
want
to
start
off
by
introducing
a
new
member
to
our
school
site,
Miss
Lenore
Medina.
She
is
our
vice
principal
and
she
has
been
an
amazing
addition
to
our
school
and
she
will
introduce
some
demographic
data
about
our
students.
And
then
we
will
hear
some
testimonies
from
our
staff.
J
Hello,
my
name
is
Lenore
Medina
and
I
am
the
new
vice
principal
at
Fremont,
Elementary
School
I
will
be
sharing
some
of
our
demographic
data
with
you
this
evening.
Fremont
is
a
tk5
elementary
school.
Our
current
School
enrollment
is
438
students.
We
have
added
a
new
TK
classroom
with
17
students
in
kindergarten.
We
have
66
students
spread
across
three
classes.
We
have
in
first
grade.
We
have
three
classes
with
90
students.
We
also
have
an
SDC
K1
combo.
J
We
have
a
second
grade,
two
second
grade
classes
with
51
students.
In
third
grade.
We
have
three
classrooms.
One
is
a
three
four
combo
with
70
students.
Fourth
grade,
we
have
two
classes
with
70
students
and
our
fifth
grade.
We
have
three
classes
with
74
students.
Our
dual
immersion
program
spreads
across
Kinder.
First,
three,
four
and
five
and
fifth
grade
for
language
classification.
J
J
I
Part
of
building
Community
is
to
have
a
wonderful
staff.
This
year
we
have
added
several
new
staff
members,
including
Miss
Laura
bowet,
who
is
our
transitional
Kinder
teacher
Miss,
Julissa
Alvarez,
who
is
our
new
dual
immersion
first
grade
teacher
Miss,
Angelica
Domingo,
who
teaches
special
day
Kinder
first
grade
combination
class.
I
We
have
Miss
Taylor
Fulkerson,
who
teaches
fifth
grade
as
well
as
our
counselor
Miss
Myra
preciado,
and
our
wonderful
prep
teachers,
Mr
Fuentes,
who
teaches
PE
Mr
Price,
who
teaches
music
and
Miss
Tope
onawagi,
who
teaches
intervention
and
our
three
reading
teachers
that
are
in
addition,
this
year
from
the
grant
we
have
Miss
Deb
riddle,
Miss,
Amy,
bagneschke
and
then
miss
Sally
Anderson.
K
So
what
I
love
in
Fremont
is
that
it's
like
my
family
here
in
us,
because
I'm
away
from
my
family
I'm
from
the
Philippines,
so
I
love
that
everybody's
warm
welcoming
and
then
I
love
that
we
treat
each
other
as
a
family.
So
thank
you.
Thank
you.

Hi,
my
name
is
Yesenia
Caballero
I'm,
the
school
office
assistant
here
at
Fremont,
Elementary
and
I
have
to
say
the
one
thing
I
enjoy
most
is
being
able
to
serve
my
community
of
Latinos
and
being
able
to
you
know
talk
to
parents
meet
parents
after
meeting
their
students
and
I
love
the
culture
we
have
here.
It
is
a
great
school
to
be
at.

H
O
B
P
Hi,
my
name
is
Alex
and
I'm
new
to
Fremont
Elementary
School,
and
what
I
would
like
what
I
like
about?
Fremont
Elementary
is
food.
The
food
is
great
and
the
teachers,
the
teachers
they're
amazing,
especially
the
vice
principals
principal
all,
the
staff
members
regardless-
and
that
is
what
I
like
about.
J
J
R
R
What
I
like
about
Fremont
Elementary
is
the
personal
bullization
of
all
of
the
staff,
the
principal
the
vice
principal
and
how
it
is
always
them
allowing
us
to
come
into
the
school
to
be
a
part
of
our
children's
classes,
see
the
things
that
they
do.
The
teachers
communication
skills
are
always
great.
R
Even
when
I
go
into
the
office,
I
am
I,
hear
hi
Mrs
Venus,
so
that
shows
that
you
know
they're
taking
the
opportunity
to
get
to
know
the
parents
and
the
students
the
activities
the
excitement
my
kids
have
when
they
come
home
from
school,
just
the
overall
education
that
I
am
getting
from
here.
Thank
you.
S
J
C
Thank
you
for
sharing
what
Fremont
is
all
about,
does
board,
have
any
questions
or
comments
or
whatever,
but.
T
T
If
we
look
at
the
social
socioeconomically
disadvantage,
although
it
doesn't
Define
how
that
number
is
sort
of
developed,
it
does
sort
of
reiterate
sort
of
my
desire
to
have
a
conversation
or
a
very
informed
conversation
around
the
need
for
us
to
hire
a
grant
writer,
because
if
we
have
a
concentration
of
about
88
social,
so
SES
low,
SCS
students,
as
well
as
the
concentration
of
with
some
refer
to
as
protected
class
students.
That
does
position
is
very
well
for
eligibility
for
a
number
of
grant.
Opportunities
and
I.
T
C
D
Ahead,
I
just
want
to
say
that
the
spirit
that
they
have
there
is
excellent.
The
parents
I
mean
when
it
got
to
the
issue
of
the
we
heard
about
the
yard
and
how
some
of
those
plants
and
flowers
were
not
taking.
Care
of
these
parents
got
together
on
their
own
volunteered
and
have
been
replacing
or
up
watering
or
making
sure
it's
the
weeds
are
removed.
Maybe
it's
not
much
for
us,
but
for
them
it
was
important
to
have
that
school.
D
I
was
in
I
enjoyed
going
to
every
one
of
the
class
on
the
15th
I
think
it
was
the
September
and
I
want
personally
go
there,
because
of
course
it
was
the
September
where
all
the
different
baises
or
the
or
the
countries
are
celebrating
their
independence
and
I
wanted
to
make
sure
to
recognize
that
issue
and-
and
they
all
were
very
pleased,
and
they
all
were
aware,
aware
of
it
and
they
spent
every
day
because
every
one
of
those
countries
have
a
different
day
and
they,
the
teachers
were
making
sure
that
each
one
of
those
countries
was
represented
quite
correctly.
F
Yeah
I'll
make
a
comment.
Thank
you
for
this
presentation.
It's
really
great
to
see
and
I,
especially
love
hearing
the
stories
of
both
the
students
and
the
parents.
F
I
also
like
to
underscore
yeah
the
the
demographic
data
that
we
have
here
and
the
importance
of
why
so
often
demographic
data
is
important
in
the
work
that
we
do
here
in
the
school
district,
because
we
can
see
that
so
many
of
these
students
come
from
socially
disadvantaged
backgrounds,
and
that
really
both
emphasizes
all
of
the
victories
and
wins
makes
them
all
that
much
more
important,
knowing
that
we
are
serving
these
students
who
do
desperately
need
this
help,
and
it
also
you
know
also
on
the
other
side,
also
underscores
when
we
fall
short.
F
U
C
V
I
decided
to
bring
Connor
with
me,
so
I
could
put
a
face
to
the
person
that
I'm
here
advocating
for
meeting
after
meeting
and
I
do
want
to
say
that
you
know
he's
finally
has
an
IEP
that
you
know
is
approved
by
me
and
his
father
that
we
were
a
part
of
he's
finally
getting
services,
but
it's
the
other
students
at
Fremont
that
I'm
worried
about
when
we
make
it
so
hard
for
teachers
to
get
services
for
their
students
when
we
can't
trust
a
professional
opinion.
V
When
we
tell
a
teacher
who's
been
in
the
classroom
for
30
plus
years.
Oh
no,
the
kids,
they're
just
squirrely
they've
never
been
in
school
before
I.
Think
a
veteran
teacher
who's
been
in
the
classroom
knows
the
difference
between
a
squirrely
kid
who's
never
been
in
school
before
and
a
kid
who
has
some
other
issues
going
on
that
they
need
to
help
be
addressed,
one
of
them
being
speech
sometime.
You
know
telling
a
parent
that
you
know
we
can't
meet
the
deadlines
of
testing.
That
seems
like
a
district
problem,
not
a
parent
problem.
V
It's
not
a
student
problem
and
I
know
that
the
sped
Department
might
be
overwhelmed.
We
might
be
understaffed,
but
we
need
to
do
better
for
these
students
because
it's
not
just
affecting
the
students
who
need
to
be
referred
to
Services,
it's
affecting
the
other
students
in
the
classroom,
because
it's
making
it
so
that
the
teacher
can't
teach
the
other
20
students
in
the
classroom
for
the
five
students
that
need
some
more
Services.
V
V
We
actually
had
to
cut
a
bunch
of
the
things
that
we
had
last
school
year
out
of
our
budget,
because
we
didn't
have
the
money
for
it
and
then
libraries
I,
don't
understand
how
we
have
more
money
in
education
and
we
still
haven't
opened
our
libraries
at
our
school.
We
wonder
why
our
kids
aren't
reading
a
grade
level,
why
they
don't
have
a
level
reading.
They
don't
have
access
to
books
without
access
to
books.
V
They
can't
develop
that
love
and
then
lastly,
I
really
feel
like
we
care
more
about
high
school
than
we
do
elementary
school.
It
seems
like
a
lot
of
our
money
is
concentrated.
There.
V
So
now
our
kids
are
less
serviced
than
other
students
which
doesn't
make
sense
when
I
sat
through
a
suicide
prevention
training
yesterday
and
was
told
that
between
10
and
14
year
olds.
So
that's
my
fourth
and
fifth
graders.
That
is
the
second
leading
cause
of
death,
but
we
don't
have
the
services
to
refer
students.
She
can't
help
as
many
students,
because
she's
only
there
two
to
three
days
every
week
and
our
our
students
need
more
support
than
we're
getting.
Thank
you.
C
B
W
Good
evening
Ward
good
evening,
ausd
Community
family
members.
Yes,
you
always
gonna
get
that
excitement,
because
why
I
love?
What
we
are
doing
here
and
the
effort
is
definitely
being
felt.
I
know
things
are
not
always
perfect,
but
what
is-
and
yes
we
do
have
work
to
do,
but
guess
what
it's
happening
it
is
happening
and
what
I
saw
tonight
listening
to
those
parents
from
Fremont
was
nothing
short
of
amazing.
So,
yes,
tomorrow
morning,
I
will
be
at
Fremont.
W
Elementary
tabling
in
front
of
the
school
I
will
have
some
donuts
there,
some
coffee,
some
juice,
but,
most
importantly,
you'll
be
seeing
me
Velma
Wilson
in
front
of
Fremont
Elementary.
Why?
Because
I
believe
in
every
student,
every
child,
one
voice,
I
believe
in
everything
that
we
do
here
in
this
district
and
I
know
tomorrow,
I
am
inviting
every
last
one
of
you
board
trustees
to
make
sure
and
be
an
intentional
effort
to
show
up.
African-American
parent
advisory
committee
meeting
is
happening
tomorrow.
It's
the
first
one
of
the
school
year.
W
Yes,
for
all
those
that's
been
texting
me
and
asking
me
yes,
that
was
my
voice
in
the
district-wide
message.
That
was
the
first
time.
I
did
that
I
was
excited,
but
the
parent
advisory
committee
meeting
is
tomorrow
at
5
30.
you
can
join
us
in
person
or
you
can
join
us
on
teams
in
person
will
be
in
the
newcomer
Center
at
Antioch
Middle.
So
for
all
my
English
language
learner
families,
please
make
sure
you
go
and
see
the
newcomer
Center
at
AMS.
It
is
a
wealth
of
information
and
resources.
There's
books,
there's
books,
there's
books.
W
There
are
things
in
there
to
help
support
you,
as
you
are
supporting
your
student
with
the
English
language,
Learners
shout
out
to
Mary
Rocha
for
coming.
It
is
very
difficult
to
try
to
talk
English
and
Spanish
and
then
have
a
tablet
to
translate
the
other
languages
with
families,
but
guess
what
we
are
doing,
the
doggone
thing
at
them,
schools
tabling
shout
out
to
all
the
parents
that
showed
up
for
the
PAC
meeting
last
week.
Thank
you
for
believing
and
knowing
that
this
is
where
you
are
getting
the
real-time
information
of.
W
What's
really
happening,
don't
believe
the
narrative
don't
believe
the
hype.
Yes,
there
are
great
things
happening
in
our
schools
and
we
need
every
parent
to
to
be
involved
to
be
engaged
in
what's
happening.
Yes,
we
can
work
on
the
things
that
are
needed
to
make
support.
Are
you
Educators
who
have
a
very
thankless
job?
I
will
always
acknowledge
your
work
and
trust
me
I
can't
do
it
so
I
believe
you
and
I
just
thank
each
and
every
one
of
you
believe
and
thank
each
and
every
board
trustee.
C
4B
for
district
employee
comments.
We
have
none.
So
let's
go
on
to
area
number
five,
which
is
disc
reports.
We
also
have
none
hearings.
We
have
none,
seven
public
presentations,
we
have
none.
Then
we
go
to
consent
items
section.
Eight
we
have
a
through
I.
Does
anyone
have
any
questions
about
a
particular
one?
President.
C
U
I
would
like
to
make
a
motion
to
adopt
the
consent.
Calendar
minus
item
G,
which
is
the
service
agreement
with
Mara
Gallegos
photos,
so
the
consent
calendar
minus
G,
as
in
good,

Passes

Services
agreement
with
Patricia

E
C
U
E
Yes
again,
that's
this
is
a
new
vendor
and
it
is
to
provide
Behavior
Support
for
students
with
IEPs.
So
I
would
request
that
the
board
approved
this
contract
I'll.
F
Y
Rob,
that's
yours,
yes,
good
evening
board
members
9f
is
under
government
code.
3547
requires
us
to
advise
the
public
that
will
be
entering
into
negotiations.
This
is
specifically
with
our
aea,
colleagues,
and
so
we
have
included
a
document
that
outlines
the
parameters
under
which
we'll
be
negotiating
again.
The
district
is
under
the
impression
that
the
entire
contract
may
be
up
for
negotiation,
but
again
through
a
process,
we'll
work
with
aea
to
narrow
the
focus.
So
this
is
our
public
information
on
that
process.
U
C
Y
As
part
of
the
process,
we
ask
aea
to
also
participate
in
the
process,
and
so
they
have
provided
written
and
written
documentation
as
to
their
process,
that
they'll
be
bringing
to
the
negotiation
table
and
I
believe
Bob
Carson
our
lead
negotiator
has
a
few
things
to
say
so.
Y
Z
So
good
evening,
superintendent
danella
good
to
see
you
board
members.
My
name
is
Bob
Carson
I'm,
the
bargaining
chair
for
the
Antioch
Education,
Association
and
I'm
here
tonight,
with
a
bunch
of
great
people,
great
Educators,
to
Sunshine
the
articles
that
aea
is
opening
up
for
negotiations
this
year,
so
aea
is
United
for
students.
That's
our
goal.
We're
confident
that
the
changes
we're
going
to
propose
for
this
in
this
bargaining,
we'll
have
a
positive
impact
on
our
students
and
all
the
students
in
this
District.
Z
Z
The
2024-25,
it's
hard
to
say,
calendar
as
well
as
the
following
articles
were
proposing
to
open
this
year,
article
one,
the
agreement,
article
9,
the
employee
work
year,
article
11
hours
of
employment,
article
12
salary
schedule
and
payment
for
extra
duties,
Article,
13,
Health
and
Welfare
benefits,
Article,
15
class
size,
article
16
safety,
conditions
of
employment
and
article
34,
alternative
programs
and
or
schools.
So
we're
looking
forward
to
productive
and
hopefully
quick
negotiations
that
will
benefit
our
students
and
the
AE
members
that
serve
them
so
well.
Thank
you.
Y
That
concludes
both
the
our
presentation
and
the
aea's
presentation.
So
so
we
need
to
vote.
We
need
to
vote
just
to
approve
it.
Yes
to
approve
I.
U
C
T
So
good
good
evening,
discussion,
yeah
so
good
evening
board
and
attendees
and
administration.
So
you
know
recently
so
in
my
day
job
you
know,
I
serve
as
the
Director
of
substance
use,
a
substance
use
for
one
of
our
bordering
counties
in
in
that
capacity.
I
recently
ran
a
report
and
it
looked
at
sort
of
drug
use
and
Drug
exposure
for
different
populations
of
our
beneficiaries.
T
So
primary
well,
without
going
into
too
much
technical
detail,
our
beneficiaries,
which
is
a
large
swath
of
the
residents
of
our
respective
counties
and
there's
a
rapid
increase
in
drug
usage
and
I'm,
not
talking
about
marijuana
I,
mean
obviously
that's
been
an
increase.
Since
the
legalization.
That's
a
separate
conversation,
however,
we
are
seeing
increases
in
fentanyl
a
couple
of
months
ago.
T
There
was
there
was
a
case
in
Oakland,
for
example,
where
there
was
about
two
pounds
of
fentanyl
that
was
found
in
a
high
school
high
schooler's
trunk,
and
for
those
who
don't
know
a
pin,
the
top
of
a
a
pin
is
enough
to
potentially
kill
someone.
So
imagine
what
two
pounds
could
do.
T
So
you
know
the
the
point
of
this
discussion
is
you
know,
after
reading
some
of
the
items
that
are
sort
of
you
know
floating
around
in
terms
of
news
after
running
the
report
and
seeing
this
sort
of
exposure
after
talking
to
some
of
our
providers
and
hearing
some
of
their
concerns
and
seeing
some
of
the
results
of
engagement
with
different
substances,
I
thought
it'd
be
important
for
us
to
at
least
you
know,
bring
awareness
to
this
topic
so
that
way,
if
a
kiddo
is
they
themselves,
if
a
friend,
a
parent,
whoever
is
experiencing
some
form
of
substance
use,
at
least
we
have
the
resources
available,
they
know
that
they're
there
and
they
know
that
they
can
get
support
because
oftentimes
when
we
hear
from
the
popular
from
the
population
of
kiddos
is
I
started.
T
This
part
of
it
was
isolation
and
then
it
sort
of
blossomed
from
there.
So
that's
one
contributor,
it's
not
all
one
contributing
factor.
So
you
know
the
point
of
this,
bringing
the
awareness
to
this.
So
that
way
we
can
at
least
begin
to
have
the
conversation
on
how
to
position
awareness
for
our
community.
Around
substance
use.
T
Are
you
asking
so
I
know
that
the
county
has
resources
if
we
could
partner
with
a
county
I
know
that
there
are
other
resources,
and
one
thing
that
I
find
is
you
know
I
work
in
a
county
and
I
work
also,
obviously,
here
on
the
board
and
oftentimes
in
our
respective
fields,
we
speak
in
the
language
for
which
for
the
community
that
we
serve
when
I
speak
from
the
County's
perspective,
I
may
say
something
like
in
our
sud
facilities.
We
serve
outpatients
for
someone
who
doesn't
work
in
that
field.
That
is
gobbledygook.
T
So
if
we
can
have
these
resources
available
and
present
them
in
sort
of
you
know,
Common
Language
to
where
people
can
actually
digest.
What's
being
said
and
what's
being
shared,
I
think
that
can
be
very
beneficial.
So
if
we
could
have
a
conversation
or
something
to
bring
awareness
around
this
issue,
I
think
it
will
be
beneficial
to
all
of
us.
G
C
W
Today,
thank
you,
Clyde
for
bringing
that
up,
but
I
do
want
to
say
they
and
to
superintendent's
point
at
Black,
Diamond
Middle
School.
They
actually
do
have
supports
that
are
definitely
hyper,
focused
and
very
intentional,
around
substance
abuse
and
how
it's
introduced,
and,
of
course
we
do
know
a
lot
of
it
is
coming
from
the
homes.
A
lot
of
it
is
coming
from
families
extended
families
and
things
of
that
nature,
so
I
want
to
challenge
parents
and
those
in
the
community
that
see
this
and
and
really
really.
You
know
these
are
educators.
W
They
are
there
to
educate
your
children
to
get
them
into
the
wonderful
world
of
adulthood
and
I
think
it's
it
takes
all
of
us.
You
know
that
it's
not
a
cliche
statement,
it
takes
a
village
to
raise
a
child
and
we
have
to
stop
making
excuses.
We
really
stop.
We
really
have
to
stop
making
excuses.
Our
schools
are
under
attack
because
of
this
very
issue.
W
Kids
coming
to
school
with
disguised
Vape
pins
and
we
don't
know,
what's
in
those
vape
pens,
we
don't
know
what's
happening
when
they're
ingesting
those
things
in
those
vape
pens,
and
we
have
to
do
what
we
can
to
support
them
and
even
provide
those
resources.
So
shout
out
to
Black
Diamond
for
having
that
and
being
very
intentional
with
having
resources
available
for
the
students,
and
we
are
going
to
be
hosting
a
parent
night.
W
That
will
speak
to
this
very
topic,
and
so,
even
if
you
can't
come
to,
if
you
don't
have
it
at
your
school,
come
to
Black
Diamond
and
be
a
part
of
the
dialogue,
because
you
might
hear
something
that
will
be
a
blessing
for
you
and
your
student
and
the
family
and
the
overall
just
the
community
at
large,
because
we
have
to
start
grabbing
and
there
it
is
getting
more
and
more
intense
and
it
ain't
happening
at
just
at
high
school.
It's
happening
to
our
younger
kiddos
in
middle
school
and
they're
even
being
introduced
at
elementary.
D
F
I
did
have
one
more
comment:
I
know
that
we
said
we
moved
forward
with
a
report
on
that.
I
was
wondering
if
we
could
also
make
sure
that
we
get
any
kind
of
related
data
that
we
have
I.
Think
some
of
those
healthy
kids
surveys
touch
on
some
of
these
things
would
be
great
to
have
that.
Also
for
that
discussion.
D
T
Thank
you
good
and
I
also
wanted
to
highlight.
You
know,
sort
of
a
sidebar,
maybe
sort
of
an
Associated
conversation,
there's
a
lot
of
stigma,
particularly
around
Africa.
You
know
in
the
African-American
Community
going
to
get
help
whether
therapy
for
mental
health,
whether
it's
getting
support
for
substance
abuse,
excuse
my
reference,
but
in
in
the
community.
It's
like
that's
what
crazy
people
do.
Oh,
that's
what
you
know.
Drug
addicts
do
as
opposed
to
I
need
help
and
I
need
support.
J
C
G
C
D
R
D
Catered
catered,
I,
don't
say
12,
because
it's
actually
adult
okay
Ed
too,
but
they
have
a
separate
amount.
Now
that
we
have
a
new
principle,
I
thought.
Maybe
we
could
get
him
to
come
forward
and
give
us
some
ideas
of
where
he's
going
with
the
his
position
and
what
he
sees
in
the
future
for
adult
ed.
D
Also,
the
fact
that
we
have
confined
the
adult
education
in
a
very
small
building
and
we
don't
have-
we
haven't-
been
able
to
allow
them
to
expand
and
knowing
that
we
need
to
engage
parents
adult
it
is,
is
a
better
location
for
people
to
come
in
and
learn.
English
is
the
second
language.
It's
also
the
child
care
that
that
was
being
done
and
I
think
that's
still
being
done,
but
eesl
is
very
important
for
parents
rather
than
going
to
the
college.
D
T
Up
support
so
yes,
I,
definitely
support
that
position
and
I
also
like
to
sort
of
add
as
well
so
there's
a
con.
There
was
one
of
the
counselors
who
reached
out
today
via
email,
I
mean
I
can
share
that
email
if
needed,
and
it
was
concerns
around
the
I
think
we're
having
it
tonight,
but
the
reduction
of
credit
hours
to
180..
One
of
the
caveats
is:
there's
still
a
requirement
for
the
number
of
years
of
language
and
so
having
Adult
School
options.
T
May
address
that
I
mean
it's
a
complicated
conversation
without
going
to
a
lot
of
details,
but
having
different
options
for
our
young
people
to
explore.
You
know:
graduation
requirements,
whether
that
be
adult,
ed
or
traditional
K-12
I
think
will
be
beneficial.
F
And
as
we
can
continue
to
continue,
this
conversation
on
adult
education,
I
like
to
push
us
to
continue
to
think
creatively
as
to
what
this
adult
education
program
could
be,
because
this
is
serving
the
parents
and
the
families
in
our
community.
We
know
that
education
is
not
an
isolated
Silo
of
the
experiences
that
our
students
are
getting,
but
it
experiences
and
factors
that
are
affecting
their
entire
family.
So
this
could
be
a
way
of
thinking
about.
How
can
we
address
some
of
these
additional
socioeconomic
factors?
G
G
And
I'm
very
excited
Mr
Hernandez,
the
new
principal
he
has
a
passion
for
adult
education
and
I
know
he's
been
working
with
his
staff
and
so
I
I
would
love
to
share
and
hear
from
him
what
direction
he
sees
it
going
and
to
get
input
from
the
board.
So
that'd
be
great.
C
E
Are
bringing
this
back?
This
is
the
we
were
asking
the
board
to
adopt
the
resolution
that
states
that
our
students
have
access
to
their
Core
curriculum.
U
X
X
This
is
a
resolution
that
removes
Jessica
and
puts
my
my
name
on
for
us
to
be
able
to
file
applications
with
the
state
facility
programs
for.
C
F
C
It
passes
c
Rob.
Yes,.
Y
Thank
you.
This
resolution
again
does
provide
authorization
for
instructors
who
instructors,
who
already
have
credentials
to
teach
outside
their
credential
authorization,
specifically
for
the
2223
school
year.
These
individuals
are
well
qualified
other
than
again
potentially
a
class
that
they
have
to
teach,
and
so
we're
seeking
this
process
to
provide
authority
to
do
that.
T
Clarifying
question:
what
just
for
public
consumption
these
classes
that
the
faculty
or
the
teachers
will
teach
they're
closely
related
and
are
the
teachers
prepared,
I'm,
sorry
adequately
trained.
D
C
Aye
opposed
5-0
passing
resolutions
for
second
reading
in
action.
There
are
none
14
board
policies
for
first
reading.
There
are
none
15.
board
policies
for
second
reading
and
action,
and
we
do
have
one
so
Christine.
E
So
this
is
bringing
back
what
we
shared
last
week
with
the
proposal
to
I
I
think
what
I
was
talking
about
was
there
was
ab104,
and
so,
when
that
came
into
being
in
July
of
2020
I
think
it
was
2021
that
was
a
resp,
no
2020
I'm.
E
Sorry
that
was
in
response
to
that
was
the
governor's
decision
in
response
to
the
number
of
students
that
they
were
discovering,
weren't
able
to
graduate
with
due
to
school
closures
and
the
impact
that
that
was
having
on
their
graduation
requirements
at
the
local
districts,
and
so
the
what
that
law
spelled
out
is
that
that
would
be
in
place
for
the
class
of
2021
and
2022.
E
We
had
already
had
our
policy
in
place
in
February
of
that
of
2020,
and
so
what
we
as
opposed
to
having
that
completely
go
away.
We
wanted
to
maintain
an
option
for
students
to
be
able
to
graduate
with
something
beyond
our
220,
and
so
we
landed
on
the
one
of
the
options
that
was
always
on
our
plan,
which
was
to
have
the
180
option
A
to
G
what
we
tried
to
build
into.
E
That
was
some
flexibility,
so
not
only
for
our
continuation
students
that
our
Juniors
and
seniors,
but
also
for
our
students
that
are
in
our
art,
did
I,
say:
continuation,
I
meant
comprehensive
schools,
but
also
additional
flexibility
for
students
that
are
in
our
con
continuation,
high
schools,
and
so
we
bring
this
to
you
this
evening
for
adoption.
T
So,
just
to
sort
of
back
not
backtrack,
but
to
sort
of
revisit
the
conversation
that
was
shared
with
me
earlier
around
the
council
is
concerned.
There
were
a
set
of
five
students,
obviously
those
students
weren't
identified,
but
a
few
of
them
were
sped,
especially
it
and
some
of
the
concerns
were,
you
know
reaching
that
threshold
is
still
a
little
bit
of
a
barrier,
not
necessarily
the
180,
but
the
way
in
which
you
know
students
are
required
to
reach
that
180..
T
So
you
know
it's
not
going
to
stop
my
vote,
but
I
do
think
revisiting.
Some
of
those
criteria
might
be
beneficial
if
the
goal
is
to
create
opportunities
for
our
kiddos
to
to
be
successful.
So.
F
I
think
similar
to
what
I
asked
last
time,
I
wonder
if
there's
more
information
on
yeah
any
of
our
students
that
may
be
approaching
that
threshold
that
may
be
on
the
border,
or
maybe
a
good
distance
from
it,
and
what
we
kind
of
have
in
place
to
make
sure
that
these
kids
can
reach
this
180
count.
E
There
were
several
that
would
benefit
from
the
180,
and
then
there
were
a
few
like
six
nine
eight
at
some
of
the
the
bigger
high
schools
that
would
not
benefit
from
the
180
and
then
would
need
to
look
at
a
continuation
or
credit
recovery
route
to
be
able
to
catch
up
and
graduate,
and
those
were
consistent
really
with
numbers
from
before.
F
Yeah
and
I
think
I
think
I
received
a
similar
email
or
the
same
email
that
trustee
Lewis
did,
and
there
was
a
a
good
point
in
there
that
I'm
wondering
if
you
have
any
sense
of
as
well.
That
said
because
our
previous
one
had
a
one-year
requirement
for
foreign
language
or
Visual,
Arts
or
CTE,
and
now
this
new
one
has
three
years,
which
is
a
two-year
increase
jump.
F
E
Absolutely
we're
trying
to
I
think
as
we
continue
to
push
it
out
and
we
look
at
it
through
the
lens
of
specific
students,
we're
seeing
unique
things
that
we
need
to
address.
So
what
I
would
like
to
do
is,
as
we
give
give
our
counselors
the
the
information
really
hear
the
unique.
What
those
unique
situations
are.
C
F
That,
okay,
yeah,
yes,
I,
think
I'm
in
agreement
with
trustee
Lewis
that
you
know,
I
think
this
is
still
great
for
our
students,
but
that
it's
important
for
us
to
continue
to
kind
of
look
at
this
and
make
sure
that
this
is
a
smooth
process.
I,
don't
think
we
can
just
kind
of
put
this
in
place
and
not
assume
that
maybe
some
students
may
be
flying
through
cracks
with
a
transition
like
this
and.
T
Also,
one
really
quick
point
also
in
future
I'd
like
to
have
a
conversation
around
if
the
board
agrees.
Obviously
around
the
lifeline.
You
know
is
this
in
perpetuity
or
do
we
sort
of
see
this
sun
setting
at
some
point?
You
know
as
we
sort
of
get
back
to
whatever
normal
means.
E
I
do
want
to
share,
although
this
is
this,
isn't
a
long
conversation
that
I've
had
yet.
But
there
was
some
conversation
years
ago,
a
few
years
ago,
before
covid
we're
looking
at
the
alternative
schools
and
considering
lesser
graduation
requirements.
The
the
conversation
at
that
time
was
that
no,
we
did
not.
E
U
And
then,
president,
okay,
just
to
add
something
to
the
conversation
as
well
number
one
really
glad
that
we're
doing
this
I
think
our
kids
need
it.
I'm
not
concerned
with
this
number
at
all,
I
think
you
know.
U
Ultimately,
as
long
as
we're
meeting
those
standards,
the
numbers
kind
of
almost
a
little
bit
subjective,
because
it's
about
the
substance
of
what
they're
learning
one
thing,
I
haven't
heard
come
up
yet
and
I,
don't
think
I
heard
it
come
up
last
time
either
was
not
only
just
the
continuation
high
schools,
but
also
really
trying
to
push
for
dual
enrollment.
More
and
I
know
that
that's
been
a
focus.
U
You
know
it's
like
high
expectations,
High
supports
kind
of
thing.
You
know,
so
we
can
still
try
to
work
with
them,
but
not
just
be
like
okay.
Well,
we'll
have
a
waiver
like
what
about
try,
this
online
art
class
or
something
I,
don't
know,
I
just
think,
there's
different
ways
that
they
could
get
the
credits
and
then,
at
least
in
my
personal
experience
at
prospects,
the
teachers
there
will
work
with
you
to
create
projects
that
are
standard
based
that
are
unique.
C
U
I'll
move
approval
to
adopt
the
sport
policy.
T
C
G
President
hack
I
just
want
to
I
think
I
was
probably
the
worst
offender
I
just
want
to
remind
the
board.
This
is
a
time
just
to
say
what
the
subject
is.
Rather
than
give
your
opinion,
as
the
public
has
not
had
an
opportunity
to
know,
you'll
be
talking
about
that
and
then
we'll
bring
it
back
resident
for
discussion.
U
President
act
go
ahead:
retaining
diverse
District
staff
and
I
have
some
comments.
That
I'll
say
in
my
comment
section.
So
it's
retaining
diverse,
retaining
specifically
diverse
District
staff.
F
Yeah
I
have
two
all
that
I've
mentioned
frequently
opening
up
libraries
and
our
trauma
and
grief
response
committee.
Getting
that
going
yeah.
T
D
Actually,
I
think
it's
more
the
issue
of
the
city
and
school
subcommittee,
and
especially
at
this
time
when
we're
talking
about
traffic
issues
and
how
we've
already
had
an
issue
and
I
think
that
we're
not
moving
very
fast
in
our
city
and
school
subcommittee
and
we've
been
told
it's
because
our
mayor
doesn't
want
to
put
it
on
the
agenda.
So
I
think
that
we
need
some
more
support.
B
D
That
issue,
because
we'll
never
get
anywhere
and
we've
been
asking
for
at
least
half
payment
of
a
half
support
for
our
crossing
guards.
We
can't
even
expand
crossing
guards
because
we
don't
have
the
money
and
of
course
we
don't
have
our
resource
officers
and,
of
course,
now,
with
this
accident
that
happened,
maybe
it
couldn't
be
prevented,
but
we
need
to
look
at
the
structure
and
how
we
might
be
able
to
put
some
speed.
I
mean
some
issues
concerning
traffic
and
at
the
last
this
last
meeting
we
were
supposed
to
have.
D
T
Just
the
report
is
being
referred
to
as
a
school
I'm.
Sorry,
a
traffic
calming
measure
that
the
school
City
committee
is
having
a.
U
Conversation
with,
maybe
we
should
I'm
sorry
done
this
semantics,
but
maybe
just
the
next
item.
We
could
talk
about
that
stuff,
very
nice.
Next,
one
I
think
that's
great.
C
Additional
comments
exceeded
30-man
limit.
We
don't
have
those
so
we're
on
to
number
19.
report.
Some
comments
from
board
members.
There.
T
You
know
we're
just
excited
we're
passionate
about
traffic
homie,
so
we
have
had
conversations
in
our
city
school
board,
meeting
around
traffic
calming
measures.
We
are
working
very
closely
with
the
city
council
Partners.
You
know
trustee
roach
and
I
on
that
committee
and
one
of
the
primary
conversations
is
I.
Think
I
can't
remember
the
the
gentleman's
profession,
but
there
is
someone
that
was
hired
by
the
city
to
do.
D
Control
study
traffic,
our
schools,
all
of
the
schools.
T
So
now
we
are
waiting
to
hear
that
report
and
once
we
hear
that
report,
it's
my
understanding
that
that
conversation
will
be
elevated
and
sort
of
further
conversations
will
be
had
so.
U
I
have
a
suggestion
or
an
idea,
because
I
have
also
just
heard
through
the
grapevine
the
Rumblings
of
the
agendizing
that
item.
If
everybody
in
this
room
showed
up
to
the
city
council,
meeting
I
can
guarantee
you
it'll
be
agendized
moving
forward.
So
just
a
suggestion.
You
know,
there's
cross
advocacy,
folks,
I
think
come
here.
You
know
I
think
we
could
show
up
there,
I
think
it's
especially
I
think
you
I
think
Mary
you
just
or
trustee
Rocha.
You
just
said
it
with
that
tragic
accident.
U
T
Well
received,
thank
you
so
earlier
in
the
excuse.
Me
excuse
me
so
earlier
today,
I
don't
know
how
many
people
saw
in
the
city
of
Oakland.
There
was
a.
There
was
an
incident
where
about
six
people
were
harmed
with
gun
violence.
I
am
originally
from
Oakland
I'm,
very
proudly
from
DB
stokeland.
You
know
I
attended
one
of
the
schools
that
a
couple
maybe
about
a
month
ago
there
was
a
shooting
incident.
So
these
these
incidents
that
happen.
T
So
when
I'm
having
these
conversations
around
these
topics,
it's
not
some.
You
know
far
off
thing.
I
know
the
people
involved
oftentimes.
So
you
know
the
the
topic
of
School
site.
Safety
is
a
very
personal
one,
so
you
know
having
conversations
around.
What
that
looks,
like
obviously,
is
going
to
look
different
for
elementary
than
it
would
for
Middle
again
for
high
school.
T
You
know,
for
example,
I
got
I
received
a
phone
call
today
about
an
incident
that
happened
at
well.
I
won't
say
the
name
of
the
elementary
is
not
not
to
throw
the
campus
under
the
bus,
but
some
middle
school
kids
came
to
another
campus,
a
lower
level
campus
and
they
were
on
campus
and
once
they
identified
they,
they
dispersed
and
came
back
again.
It
may
not
seem
like
anything,
but
they
create
that
situation
could
have
very
easily
went
into
something
very,
very
different.
T
So
you
know
having
conversations
I
know
it's
a
sort
of
a
delicate
walk
and
I
do
appreciate
that
delicate
walk
because
we
don't
want
to
unduly
punish
folks.
We
don't
want
to
create
an
sort
of
an
environment
of
punitive
concern
or
anything
I,
don't
know
what
the
proper
language
would
be.
However,
we
do
want
to
hold
folks
accountable
and
we
do
want
to
make
sure
that
the
people
on
our
campus
faculty
students
as
well
as
our
parents
are
safe.
T
So
you
know
I
think
having
it
having
a
real
strong
conversation
about
that
is
really
key.
Also
I
would
like
to
highlight
that
earlier
today,
trustee
roach
and
I
were
able
to
chaperone
Antioch
High
School
to
there
we
saw
Lear
at
the
Cow
shakes
hi
I'm,
trying
to
remember
that
all
day
finally
got
a
cow
shakes,
phenomenal
phenomenal
performance.
The
kiddos
were
all
in.
T
You
know
they
were
all
engaged
there
were
some
young
man
took
a
shirt
off
and
yeah
it's
a
lot
of
stuff,
a
lot
of
stuff
going
on
if
you've
ever
seen,
King
Lear.
No,
no,
no,
no,
the
response
from
the
kiddos.
Not
for
me,
no,
the
response
from
the
kiddos
they
you
know
it
was
it
was
very.
It
was
very
great
to
see
their
passion
they
were
able
to.
T
U
Good
all
right,
so
my
deepest
apologies
for
not
being
here
at
the
last
meeting
there
was
an
outbreak
of
monkey
pox
at
the
school
I'm
at
so
I
was
just
being
overly
cautious
I'm,
fine,
thankfully,
but
I'm
hoping
everybody's
still
staying
safe,
but
I
just
wanted
to
kind
of
qualify
a
little
bit.
The
retaining
diverse
District
staff,
I
was
very,
very
bummed.
I
guess
would
be
the
word
when
I
saw
that
Miss
bookie
had
resigned
from
Deer
Valley
High
School
I
felt
like
I
still
kind
of
am
like.
U
Why
did
she
leave
and
I
wasn't
really
super
clear
on
what
happened
so
I
didn't
eat
because
I
wasn't
here,
I
didn't
necessarily
feel
like.
It
was
appropriate
to
like
request
that
to
come
back,
that's
not
really
what
I'm
driving
at
more!
So
just
like
it.
What
happened?
What
can
we
figure
out
about
what
happened
to
a
very
high
ranking?
You
know,
administrator
who's,
also
an
African-American
woman,
and
if
really,
what
I'm
hoping
to
discuss
is
if
there's
any
gaps
in
terms
of
the
supports,
because
I
think
our
people
are
what
make
this
District.
U
U
So
there
could
be
a
thousand
reasons,
but
I
just
want
to
make
sure
if
we
can
do
something
that
we're
doing
it
so
I'm,
sorry
for
not
being
here
last
time,
but
that's
why
I
was
very
specifically
retaining
diverse
District
staff,
the
retaining
Recruitment
and
Retention
of
diverse
staff.
That
reflects
the
makeup
of
the
district,
which
is
a
part
of
our
lcap.
So
I
just
want
to
Circle
back
on
that,
but
I'm
happy
I'm
here
now
so
and
that's
everything
that
I
have.
D
I'll
just
make
my
last
comments
before
you
you
go.
Is
that
I
really
enjoyed
that
play
I've
never
been
to
a
Shakespearean
play
done
the
way
they
did
it
and
it
was
so
well
received
by
the
students.
D
They
stood
up
and
clapped
at
all
those
members,
and
we
would
have
stayed
longer,
but
the
traffic
wouldn't
allow
us
because
they
were
available
as
the
actors
were
available
to
converse
with
them
and
discuss
that
play
and
they
were
getting
it
and
it
was
the
way
it
was
presented
and
that's
my
understanding
is
that's
why
it
was
presented
the
way
it
was
so
that
those
kids
could
understand
and
thank
heaven
for
me
too,
because
it
helped
me,
but
it
was
wonderful
and
then
I
have
to
give
a
shout
out
to
the
bus
driver.
D
You
know
that
traffic
going
in
the
morning
at
seven
o'clock
in
the
morning
it's
bumper
to
bumper
coming
back,
is
similar
very
cautious
person
and
we
had
a
couple
of
students
that
had
to
be
reprimanded,
but
she
said
she
was
responsible
and
she
was
going
to
follow
the
rule
and
then
I
have
to
know
and
I
complimented
her
and
told
her.
You
know
I
know
our
bus
drivers
have
to
have
more
background
or
they
have
more
training
than
even
the
Tri
Delta
bus
drivers,
and
so
I
mean
we
do
have
good
staff.
D
But
again
it's
hard
to
find
them
too.
I
know
that
we
have
and
then
when
they
asked
telling
us
that
we're
supposed
to
have
buses
for
everybody,
I
like
to
know
how
we're
going
to
get
the
employee,
but
anyway,
I
think
I
enjoyed
it.
I
really
did
and
the
kids
did
too,
and
it
was
one
of
those
Grant
issues.
A
grant
made
the
difference,
and
it
was
one
of
the
first
ones
to
go
out
because
up
to
now
we
haven't
been
transporting
them
out
or
going
to
events.
So
thank
you
again
for
that.
D
Yes
and
I,
just
one
more
thing:
Velma
I
appreciate
your
efforts
for
outreach
because
yes,
Mission
School
I
went
to
help
and
it
is
important
to
have
that
second
language
and
Velma
does
a
good
job.
I
didn't
know
she
could
speak
some
Spanish
I
was
surprised
and
I'll
be
looking
forward
to
seeing
you
tomorrow
morning.
F
There
might
be
a
good
conversation
there
of
how
we
can
continue
to
strengthen
those
Partnerships
with
the
Arts
other
things
that
I've
been
working
on
since
our
last
meeting
is
I
did
attend
at
the
last
d-lac
meeting
virtually
and
it
was
great
to
be
there
and
see
what
we're
doing
here
in
the
district.
I
was
at
the
Deer
Valley
homecoming
football
game
there,
and
that
was
really
great
to
see
all
the
students
and
the
homecoming
court
and
how
excited
that
they
were.
F
I
also
had
the
honor
of
being
at
the
RR
Learning
Center
grand
opening
this
week.
It's
a
tutoring
center
in
downtown
Antioch
off
of
2nd
street
that
provides
free
tutoring
for
students,
so
that
was
important.
F
That
I'd
be
there
and
I
got
a
chance
to
talk
with
the
kids
and
share
my
story,
and
so
that
was
a
really
great
experience,
because
it
was
great
talking
to
students-
and
you
know,
Finding
ways
to
inspire
them
to
know
that
they
can
achieve
so
much
more
than
any
of
us
have
ever
done
at
this
point.
The
other
thing
I
want
to
highlight
that
I
think
is
important
for
our
community,
given
our
large
population
of
Latina
Hispanic
families.
F
Here
so
recently,
today,
Governor
Newsome
approved
the
ab
2183,
which
was
a
bill
from
the
United
Farm
Workers
to
help
give
them
more
union
rights,
and
it
was
this
very
big
historical
event.
For
you
know,
many
of
you
know
that
the
United
Farm
Workers
was
the
organization
through
which
Cesar
Chavez
did
a
lot
of
his
work,
and
so
that
work
still
continues
and
is
still
a
long.
F
Ongoing
fight
and
many
of
our
families
here
are
touched,
either
directly
through
work
that
they
do
in
Farm
working
or
that
their
families
have
done
so
it's
important
to
think
about
and
highlight
those
things,
because
that
does
affect
all
our
families
and
students
here
as
well
and
then.
Lastly,
as
always,
I
want
to
highlight
a
book
to
help
keep
the
conversation
going
about
libraries,
literacy
and
education.
So
today,
I
have
a
Firebird
by
Misty,
Copeland
who's,
a
ballerina
and
the
artwork
here
is
absolutely
amazing.
I
would
definitely
check
it
out,
I
think
even
just
visually.
F
T
So
really
quickly,
my
apologies
that
I
had
it
written
down.
I
just
forgot
to
say
it.
I
do
want
to
acknowledge
and
thank
you
for
the
reminder.
Trustee
Hernandez
is
national
Hispanic
month,
so
I
do
want
to
acknowledge
that
I
was
remiss.
I
missed
it
last
month,
but
I
did
want
to
raise
awareness
to
of
that
and
celebrate
that
this
month,
yeah
thanks.
C
D
T
Then
we
well
no
no
wait
before
we
can.
We
can
we
close
in
Joe's
honor
Joseph
Joe
is
our
last
it's
our
last.
You
know,
Joe
has
served
us
in
my
mind.
You
know
honorably
and
done
a
lot
of
great
things
and
worked
behind
the
scenes,
particularly
during
covet
transitioning
us
