You

just
a
reminder
that
the
public
is
listening
on
the
phone
and
this
keeps
them
up
today
on
the
order
of
the
meeting
and
who
is
comment,
commenting
and
speaking.
D
G
F
A
A
Now
we
have,
we
will
go
on
with
our
our
agenda
as
reported
and
as
written
and
now
we
are
at
staff
updates
and
that
will
be
provided
by
our
equity
and
inclusion
consultant
Elena
Smith.
C
Thank
you
so
for
an
update.
The
crown
act,
which
was
a
recommendation
from
the
human
relations
commission
at
a
previous
meeting,
is
going
to
and
the
equity
and
engagement
Council
committee
on
August
15th
and
it
that
is
going
to
be
a
streamed
meeting.
If
you
would
like
to
watch
and
see
the
outcome
of
that
item
on
their
agenda,
the
other
update
that
I
have
for
you
all
is
that
there
are
two
newly
appointed
members
on
the
human
relations
commission.
So
please
join
me
in
welcoming
Candace,
Blanchard
and
Susan
Sacco.
D
F
C
The
Crown
act
recommendation
from
the
human
relations
commission,
which
was
around
protecting
natural
hair
and
hairstyles
in
Asheville.
That
recommendation
is
being
considered
at
the
equity
and
engagement
Council
committee.
They
meet
virtually
so
you
can
watch
that
meeting
online
and
that
will
be
August
15th
and
you
can
find
the
links
and
the
materials
on
the
city
webpage
for
Council
committees.
A
A
Any
other
discussion.
A
F
Harvey
I
just
want
to
ask
a
question:
do
we
have
to
incorporate
the
time
in
that
as
well.
C
This
is
your
staff
liaison
Alina
Schmidt,
so
you
can
choose
the
times
that
you
meet
as
a
group.
Whatever
works
best
for
you,
it
doesn't
have
to
be
a
part
of
that
item.
C
Chair
can
I
further
clarify
that
if
you
do
choose
to
move
your
meeting
times,
we
will
need
to
notice
it
to
the
public.
So.
C
That
is
something
that
you
would
like
to
consider.
I
look
forward
to
hearing
more
that
way.
We
can
communicate
it
out.
A
Thank
you
again
all
right
and
our
new
business,
the
HRC
members
please
consider
which
working
groups
you
would
like
to
be
a
part
of
an
email
chair,
our
staff
liaison
to
be
added.
Okay,
reminder
only
no
action,
oh
just
a
reminder,
no
action,
it's
forgive
me.
A
Working
groups
must
be
less
than
a
quorum
as
far
less
hrca
members.
The
working
group
on
housing
issues
currently
has
only
one
member.
The
working
groups
on
community
engagement
and
examining
systems
are
full.
These
are
the
Committees
that
we
have
inter-government
relations,
Community
engagement,
addressing
housing
issues,
examining
systems
and
improving
hrca.
A
A
B
Yes,
commissioner,
Crystal
Reed
I
would
like
to
give
an
update
to
the
South
French
Broad
area
of
Asheville
and
make
it
noted
that
portions
of
the
Aston
Park
area
between
housing
authority
and
Aston
Park
was
being
used
by
the
Asheville
Housing
Authority.
B
And
since
there
was
a
big
trespassing
issue
onto
that
property
when
it
came
to
Asheville
Housing
Authority
I
see
that
the
city
of
Asheville
has
taken
that
area
back
over
myself
and
a
couple
of
other
volunteers
have
committed
to
cleaning
that
area,
and
it
is
now
being
used
during
these
summer
months,
which
is
a
beautiful
area
off
of
South.
French,
Broad
and
I
just
wanted
to
say,
I'm,
very
enlightened
that
this
was
able
to
take
place
under
such
circumstances.
F
C
E
This
is
Susan
Zach
I
was
speaking
and
I
believe
I
informed
Elena
that
I
was
going
to
I
was
interested
in
joining
the
examining
systems.
Work
group
examining.
D
F
Thank
you
Susan,
commissioner,
enjoying
it
I'll
be
glad
that
you're
on
the
committee
with
me.
C
So
go
ahead
and
ask
your
question:
Madam,
chair.
A
I
see
that
we
currently
have
that.
That
committee
is
full.
We
already
have
four
people
currently
on
that
community.
D
A
G
Three
reasons
that
I
would
like
to
share
this
is
commissioner
Smith
on
July
29th
at
2
pm
CPC
I
mean
CPC
will
be
hosting
this
black
love
event
at
Nora
Collective
on
August.
The
4th
at
the
Harris
downtown
at
4
pm
will
be
the
middle
missing
middle
housing
study
and
they
also
have
a
survey
that's
going
on
on
social
media
and
also
on
the
city
of
Asheville's
website.
If
anyone
is
a
renter,
please
take
that
survey.
G
Your
input
is
needed
that
will
help
us
discuss,
affordable
housing
and
some
housing
issues
going
on
in
Asheville.
So
if
you
know
about
that,
if
you
can
share
it
on
your
social
media,
with
your
network,
that'll
be
greatly
needed
for
us,
and
also
on
August
6
at
from
2
to
3
P.M
South
Side
will
be
hosting
this
bypop
community
market.
F
Commissioner,
commissioner,
winner,
ask
your
question:
let
me
ask
your
question:
you
were
mentioning
something
about
a
survey.
What
date
was
that.
G
Yeah,
so
the
missing
middles
housing
study
is
is
I
would
say
it's
a
local
set
for
the
actual
area
on
Ashland
bucking
County
area
I
am
on
the
affordable
housing.
I'm,
sorry
I
always
have
to
think
about.
It
is
affordable.
Housing
Committee
of
Asheville
and
I
know
that
we
are
trying
to
survey
the
renters
in
the
area
so
that
we
can
figure
out
the
best
practices
for
more
affordable
housing
for
housing
in
areas,
because
what
we
know
so
far
is
also
also
we
talked
with
Crystal.
G
Is
that
there's
not
enough
stop
for
the
amount
of
people
who
need
help,
especially
affordable
stock?
So
even
if
you're
trying
to
purchase
the
home,
most
people
are
not
able
to
purchase
a
home
in
Asheville.
So.
E
G
Permanent
houses,
but
we
want
to
hear
you
know
what
the
renters
are
feeling
like
me.
Personally,
I
don't
live
in,
affordable
housing
I
do
not
want
to
live
there
any
longer
so
I'm
trying
to
find
out
some
other
resources
there
might
be
other
people
or
other
mothers
or
families
who
also
need
this
or
don't
need
assistance
for
me
location
to
go
because
you
know
there's
so
many
barriers
in
a
way
for
us
to
team
housing.
Housing
outside
of
this.
C
There
this
is
your
staff
liaison
Elena
Schmidt,
and
you
can
find
the.
E
E
C
You
can
use
the
search
bar
and
search
missing,
middle
housing,
study
or
just
missing
middle,
and
it
should
be
one
of
the
results
on
the
page.
You
can
click
on
it
and
find
out
lots
of
information.
The
survey
is
open
until
August
11th
and
there
is
a
link
to
take
the
survey
for
renters,
and
that
is
online.
E
E
G
All
housing
isn't
even
in
Asheville
right
now.
There
is
the
low
stock
from
what
I
know
from
the
expert
on
the
commission
with
me:
I'm,
not
an
expert
I'm,
more
of
a
Grassroots
person
just
being
in
a
community
I
know
this
is
here,
is
also
one
of
the
experts,
but
what
we
know
for
sure
is
that
there's
not
enough
affordable
housing
and
there's
not
enough
housing
period
for
the
amount
of
people
who
are
in
need
of
housing
in
the
area.
E
In
the
surveys,
are
they
asking
questions
about
the
if
the
participants
or
the
residents
have
a
need
for
accessibility?
Yes,.
G
I
did
see
something
yes,
so
please
take
the
the
survey
and
also
share
with
your
community.
Thank.
D
A
If
there
are
no
other
commit
what
one
more
to
get
my
advice
to
sit
back,
so
I
can
see
the
hands
on
the
left
on
my
right
side.
I
want
to
get
you
the
mirror.
F
Yes,
I
would
like
to
be
enlightened
about
something.
My
name
is
Tim
Mission
and
Harold
and
communion
announcements
I'm
trying
to
take
the
page
out
of
what
I've
seen
in
Asheville.
Oh,
the
different
events
that
are
held
in
packs
were
so
sweet
and
I'm.
Taking
a
page
out
of
the
Buncombe
County
tent
that
was
set
up
during
the
Juneteenth
Festival
Elena
can
just
say
the
hrca
is
going
to
set
up
a
tent
and
event
pass
out
amps,
so
to
speak.
F
They
had
a
good
idea
with
that
information
about
Buncombe,
County
and
whatnot
can.
F
From
this
Rick's
astral,
Parks
and
Recreation
for
us,
you
know
get
us
a
team
and
we
can
do
whatever
we
wanted
to
do
with
it.
C
So
I
think,
commissioner
Harold.
What
you're
bringing
up
right
now
is
a
great
thing
to
discuss
as
part
of
your
community
engagement,
working
group,
and
so
once
some
details
are
solidified
in
that
working
group.
Then
there
could
be
a
update
to
the
full
meeting
at
a
later
hrca
meeting.
So
no
answer
at
the
moment,
but
I
think
that
the
community
engagement
working
group
can
keep
discussing
it
and
then
we
can
figure
out
the
details
from
there.
A
F
More
Harvey,
Harrell
I
would
like
to
say
one
other
thing.
F
The
the
part
of
participation
in
these
committees
is
I'm
guilty
about
myself,
but
we
need
to
get
together
a
little
bit
more
often
than.
D
F
I
know
we
have
certain
things
that
we
have
to
do
each
and
every
day,
I
have
anything
to
do
going
to
school,
running
committee
and
being
here
as
well,
but
I
have
to
make
time
for
the
escalation
of
the
committees
that
we
have
here
as
well
and
getting
some
more
ideas
in
and
helping
each
other
out
so
I'm
just
trying
to
bump
it
up
for
us
to
be
more
engaged
with
one
another,
and
if
you
need
information
from
each
other
whom,
before
we
leave
today,
we
need
to
get
that
straightened
out
as
well.
A
It's
none
other
than
we
will
go
to
live
public
comments.
